The impact of achieving textbook oncological outcome (TOO) as a multimodal therapy quality indicator on the prognosis of advanced gastric cancer (AGC) remains inadequately assessed. Patients with AGC who underwent curative gastrectomy between January 2010 and December 2017 at two East Asian medical centers were included. TOO was defined as achieving the textbook outcome (TO) and receiving neoadjuvant and/or adjuvant chemotherapy (NCT or ACT). Cox and logistic regression models were used to identify prognostic and non-TOO-associated risk factors. Among 3626 patients, 57.6% achieved TOO (TOO group), exhibiting significantly better 5-year overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) than the non-TOO group (both p < 0.05). Multivariate Cox regression identified TOO as an independent prognostic factor for 5-year OS (HR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.61–0.74; p < 0.001) and DFS (HR, 0.73; 95% CI, 0.66–0.81; p < 0.001). Multivariate logistic regression showed that open gastrectomy, lack of health insurance, age ≥65 years, ASA score ≥ Ⅲ, and tumor size ≥50 mm are independent risk factors for non-achievement of TOO (all p < 0.05). On a sensitivity analysis of TOO's prognostic value using varying definitions of chemotherapy parameters, a stricter definition of chemotherapy resulted in a decrease in the TOO achievement rate from 57.6 to 22.3%. However, the associated reductions in the risk of death and recurrence fluctuated within the ranges of 33–39% and 28–37%, respectively. TOO is a reliable and stable metric for favorable prognosis in AGC. Optimizing the surgical approach and improving health insurance status may enhance TOO achievement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The combination of mass spectrometry (MS) data and chemometrics methods is conducive to obtaining more comprehensive molecular information and evaluating the transfer behavior of O and N atoms during the conversion of biomass and coal. In this work, 12 thermal dissolution (TD) extracts of coal/biomass samples and the catalytic hydrogenation products of TD extracts were analyzed by Orbitrap MS using spectral stitching and in-source collision-activated dissociation (ISCAD) methods. Spectral stitching improves the detection ability towards minor and trace species, enhancing the number of identified compounds by two times. Meanwhile, ISCAD provides more comprehensive molecular structure information, which can illustrate the transfer patterns of heteroatoms and deepen the understanding of the structural characteristics of aromatic rings during the conversion of biomass and coal. Two chemometrics methods, principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), were introduced to dig out the detailed similarities and differences between O-containing and N-containing compounds in coal and biomass. HCA method not only recognized the category of O-containing and N-containing compounds in each sample, but also showed the removal behavior of O and N atoms in biomass and coal. Thus, the combination of MS methods and chemometrics method is expected to provide methodological support to elucidate the molecular structure and conversion pathways for complex coal and biomass. Photocatalytic oxalic acid (OA) activation for pharmaceutical wastewater degradation based on Fe-based catalysts are usually limited by the cycle of Fe3+/Fe2+ and low conversion efficiency of OA. Herein, an effective OA activator, FeOOH loaded FeWO 4 /WO 3 (FFW) heterojunction photocatalyst, were fabricated by electrostatic self-assembly for tetracycline (TC) degradation. Experimental results revealed that the introduction of FeOOH can greatly enhance the optical absorption and separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers of the FeWO 4 /WO 3 (FW) composite. Moreover, optimized FFW heterojunction exhibited the excellent photocatalytic OA activation activity and the highest OA conversion rate for TC degradation, which exhibited 97.3% photocatalytic performance for TC within 30 min under 420 nm light irradiation. The FFW heterojunction still revealed high photocatalytic OA activation activity for TC degradation even after six cycles. The possible degradation pathway of TC and photocatalytic OA activation mechanism of FFW heterojunction were also presented by ESR spectroscopy results, quenching tests, and LC-MS analysis. This work not only provides a fresh perspective on the surface photo-Fenton chemistry of catalytic redox processes, but also presents a valid reference for designing highly efficient photocatalytic OA-activation systems for pharmaceutical wastewater treatment. [Display omitted] • The fast diffusion of Al causes the formation of β phase and increment of γ′ phase in substrate. • The Al-Cr interference effect is revealed, which causes the pile-up of Cr near the coating/superalloy interface. • Thermodynamics calculations verify that the γ′ depletion in substrate was ascribed to the loss of Ta and Ti. Metallic coatings are widely employed to improve the oxidation resistance of superalloys. However, the interdiffusion between the metallic coatings and the superalloys leads to microstructural degradation in both. Some of the underlying degradation mechanisms are still elusive, e.g., the γ′ (Ni 3 Al) phase depletion in superalloys, where a large amount of γ′ precipitates are dissolved in the γ matrix even though the incoming Al from coatings indeed increases the Al content. Here, we investigated the interdiffusion behavior between the Amdry365 coating and the IN792 superalloy at 1100 °C, using multiple microscopic techniques and thermodynamics calculations. Our results showed an excellent agreement between experiments and thermodynamics simulations, indicating the dominant role of Al on the initial diffusion-induced phase transitions. We proposed the Al-Cr interference effect to account for the pile-up behavior of Cr and the reduced Al content near the coating/superalloy interface. The local phase equilibrium calculations revealed that the γ′ depletion in the superalloy is primarily attributed to the loss of γ′-forming elements, such as Ta and Ti. In this paper, the equivalent circuit model of interconnect channels in silicon interposer is developed for three-dimensional integrated circuit (3-D IC) based on the theory of multi-conductor transmission line (MTL). The deep neural network (DNN) is employed to learn the nonlinear mapping relationship between the geometric parameters and the distributed parameters, and it is demonstrated that the DNN has a high prediction accuracy. In the implementation, a coarse model is firstly developed by solving the scattering parameters of the model using the chain parameter matrix. The model is optimized using a knowledge-based neural network (KBNN), and a fine model is then established. The numerical examples demonstrate that the optimized model can achieve high accuracy. Ischemia-reperfusion (IR) induces a wide range of irreversible injuries. Cerebral IR injury (IRI) refers to additional brain tissue damage that occurs after blood flow is restored following cerebral ischemia. Currently, no established methods exist for treating IRI. Oxidative stress is recognized as a primary mechanism initiating IRI and a crucial focal target for its treatment. Urolithin B, a metabolite derived from ellagitannins, antioxidant polyphenols, has demonstrated protective effects against oxidative stress in various disease conditions. However, the precise mechanism underlying UB's effect on IRI remains unclear. In our current investigation, we assessed UB's ability to mitigate neurological functional impairment induced by IR using a neurological deficit score. Additionally, we examined cerebral infarction following UB administration through TTC staining and neuron Nissl staining. UB's inhibition of neuronal apoptosis was demonstrated through the TUNEL assay and Caspase-3 measurement. Additionally, we examined UB's effect on oxidative stress levels by analyzing malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and immunohistochemistry analysis of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and 8-hydroxyl-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Notably, UB demonstrated a reduction in oxidative stress levels. Mechanistically, UB was found to stimulate the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway, as evidenced by the significant reduction in UB's neuroprotective effects upon administration of ATRA, an Nrf2 inhibitor. In summary, UB effectively inhibits oxidative stress induced by IR through the activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway. In this study, the microbial fermentation characteristics and effects of neutral and acidic Lycii fructus polysaccharides (LFPs) on gut microbial composition were investigated using pure cultures of selected probiotic strains and mixed cultures of human fecal microflora in vitro. The results revealed that LFPs could significantly promote the growth of probiotics, with a faster proliferation rate in the early stages of fermentation. When LFPs were degraded and utilized by the gut microbiota, neutral arabinogalactans were more easily fermented, while acidic pectin polysaccharides exhibited a higher degree of anti-fermentation. LFPs were selectively modulated by microbiota; acidic polysaccharides promoted the growth of potentially beneficial bacteria, such as Lachnospira and Bacteroides vulgatus , while neutral polysaccharides significantly improved the relative abundances of Bifidobacterium longum and Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum. In summary, the results revealed that different types of LFPs regulate the gut microbiota in a structure-dependent manner, with uronic acid play a key role in selective regulation. This study aimed to better understand the fermentation characteristics and saccharide preferences of gut microbes for LFP structures and provide a theoretical basis for the relationship between the chemical structural and probiotic effects of LFPs. Photocatalysis is an attractive "green" solution to the energy crisis and environmental pollution; however, its practical application is still thwarted by low efficiency. As the core link of this technology, the continuous development of new photocatalysts is the main idea to improve efficiency. In the past few decades, a large number of semiconductor materials with photocatalytic activity have been synthesized successively, including transition metal oxides, nitrides, sulfides, carbon based materials, and metal organic frameworks. Considering various factors such as catalytic activity, production cost, and environmental safety, metal oxides are the most promising carriers of photocatalytic materials for development among them, such as titanium dioxide (TiO 2). Recently, tungsten trioxide (WO 3) based photocatalyst, especially tungsten trioxide hydrates (WO 3 · n H 2 O, n = 0.33, 0.5, 1 and 2), has become a new favorite among scholars. Not only due to its wider light response range and higher photocatalytic activity compared to TiO 2 , but also because the rich hydroxyl groups give it more flexible surface structure regulation possibilities. At present, there are over 200 literatures on WO 3 · n H 2 O-based photocatalysts have published; yet, no review article concluding such materials. To promote the development and provide a reference for colleagues, we present a systematic review of the applications and research progress of WO 3 · n H 2 O-based photocatalysts in the past decade. Starting from structural analysis, this work summarizes the preparation methods and modification strategies. Subsequently, it explores the application status in energy conversion and environmental pollution control, and finally a critical assessment and outlook of technical challenges and research opportunities for future was proposed. The first inorganic metal phosphite iodide, CsSn 2 (HPO 3) 2 I, was successfully synthesized. It represents the first phosphite tin halide and features a [Sn(HPO 3)] ꝏ layer framework structure built by the SnO 3 pyramid and HPO 3 2− groups. Attractively, it shows the most giant experimental birefringence (Δn = 0.200@0.546 μm) among reported inorganic metal phosphite birefringent crystals. This work proves that the reasonable utilization of metal cations with lone pair electrons is an effective strategy for developing excellent birefringent materials. Ferromanganese spinel oxides (MnFe 2 O 4 , MFO) have been proven effective in activating persulfate for pollutants removal. However, their inherent high surface energy often leads to agglomeration, diminishing active sites and consequently restricting catalytic performance. In this study, using Al-MCM-41 (MCM) mesoporous molecular sieves derived from natural attapulgite as a support, the MFO/MCM composite was synthesized through dispersing MnFe 2 O 4 nanoparticles on MCM carrier by a simple hydrothermal method, which can effectively activate persulfate (PS) to degrade Tetracycline (TC). The addition of Al-MCM-41 can effectively improve the specific surface area and adsorption performance of MnFe 2 O 4 , but also reduce the leaching amount of metal ions. The MFO/MCM composite exhibited superior catalytic reactivity towards PS and 84.3% removal efficiency and 64.7% mineralization efficiency of TC (20 mg/L) was achieved in 90 min under optimized conditions of 0.05 mg/L catalyst dosage, 5 mM PS concentration, room temperature and no adjustment of initial pH. The effects of various stoichiometric MFO/MCM ratio, catalyst dosage, PS concentration, initial pH value and co-existing ions on the catalytic performance were investigated in detail. Moreover, the possible reaction mechanism in MFO-MCM/PS system was proposed based on the results of quenching tests, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and XPS analyses. Finally, major degradation intermediates of TC were detected by liquid chromatography mass spectrometry technologies (LC-MS) and four possible degradation pathways were proposed. This study enhances the design approach for developing highly efficient, environmentally friendly and low-cost catalysts for the advanced treatment process of antibiotic wastewater. Most existing graph neural network-based methods for predicting miRNA–disease associations rely on initial association matrices to pass messages, but the sparsity of these matrices greatly limits performance. To address this issue and predict potential associations between miRNAs and diseases, we propose a method called strengthened hypergraph convolutional autoencoder (SHGAE). SHGAE leverages multiple layers of strengthened hypergraph neural networks (SHGNN) to obtain robust node embeddings. Within SHGNN, we design a strengthened hypergraph convolutional network module (SHGCN) that enhances original graph associations and reduces matrix sparsity. Additionally, SHGCN expands node receptive fields by utilizing hyperedge features as intermediaries to obtain high-order neighbor embeddings. To improve performance, we also incorporate attention-based fusion of self-embeddings and SHGCN embeddings. SHGAE predicts potential miRNA–disease associations using a multilayer perceptron as the decoder. Across multiple metrics, SHGAE outperforms other state-of-the-art methods in five-fold cross-validation. Furthermore, we evaluate SHGAE on colon and lung neoplasms cases to demonstrate its ability to predict potential associations. • A novel 3- P RS-finger-based parallel dexterous hand (PDH) is proposed. • The PDH can perform 6-DOF in-hand manipulation with bidirectional pinching. • The PDH have the possibility to achieve a good force transmission capability. • The PDH can complete the accurate control of in-hand manipulation. Considering the defects of the traditional dexterous hand in precise in-hand manipulation and bidirectional pinching capability, this paper proposes a 3- P RS-finger-based parallel dexterous hand (PDH). The PDH structure is composed of three 3- P RS parallel fingers. First, a pinching shape analysis is conducted to demonstrate the PDH's bidirectional pinching capability. Then, by analyzing the workspace of the PDH pinching nine objects, the influence on the in-hand manipulation workspace of different objects is determined. The PDH can perform symmetrical in-hand manipulation to address the issue that almost all humanoid dexterous hands pinch objects in a single direction. The force transmission capability of the PDH is compared with that of the 3R serial dexterous hand (SDH) under the same trajectory. The results indicate that the PDH have the possibility to possess a good pinching force performance through the specific trajectory planning. Bidirectional pinching experiments are conducted, and the experimental results demonstrate that the PDH can realize the accurate in-hand manipulation under almost frictionless conditions.
