The rise in generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has led to the development of more sophisticated phishing email attacks, as well as an increase in research on using AI to aid the detection of these advanced attacks. Successful phishing email attacks severely impact businesses, as employees are usually the vulnerable targets. Defense against such attacks, therefore, requires realizing defense along both technological and human vectors. Security hardening research work along the technological vector is few and focuses mainly on the use of machine learning and natural language processing to distinguish between machine- and human-generated text. Common existing approaches to harden security along the human vector consist of third-party organized training programmes, the content of which needs to be updated over time. There is, to date, no reported approach that provides both phishing attack detection and progressive end-user training. In this paper, we present our contribution, which includes the design and development of an integrated approach that employs AI-assisted and generative AI platforms for phishing attack detection and continuous end-user education in a hybrid security framework. This framework supports scenario-customizable and evolving user education in dealing with increasingly advanced phishing email attacks. The technological design and functional details for both platforms are presented and discussed. Performance tests showed that the phishing attack detection sub-system using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) deep learning model architecture achieved the best overall results: above 94% accuracy, above 95% precision, and above 94% recall. A growing focus among scientists has been on researching the techniques of automatic detection of dementia that can be applied to the speech samples of individuals with dementia. Leveraging the rapid advancements in Deep Learning (DL) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), these techniques have shown great potential in dementia detection. In this context, this paper proposes a method for dementia detection from the transcribed speech of subjects. Unlike conventional methods that rely on advanced language models to address the ability of the subject to make coherent and meaningful sentences, our approach relies on the center of focus of the subjects and how it changes over time as the subject describes the content of the cookie theft image, a commonly used image for evaluating one's cognitive abilities. To do so, we divide the cookie theft image into regions of interest, and identify, in each sentence spoken by the subject, which regions are being talked about. We employed a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network to learn different patterns of dementia subjects and control ones and used it to perform a 10-fold cross validation-based classification. Our experimental results on the Pitt corpus from the DementiaBank resulted in a 82.9% accuracy at the subject level and 81.0% at the sample level. By employing data-augmentation techniques, the accuracy at both levels was increased to 83.6% and 82.1%, respectively. The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) serves as a widely employed framework for assigning diagnosis codes to electronic health records of patients. These codes facilitate the encapsulation of diagnoses and procedures conducted during a patient's hospitalisation. This study aims to devise a predictive model for ICD codes based on the MIMIC-III clinical text dataset. Leveraging natural language processing techniques and deep learning architectures, we constructed a pipeline to distill pertinent information from the MIMIC-III dataset: the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III (MIMIC-III), a sizable, de-identified, and publicly accessible repository of medical records. Our method entails predicting diagnosis codes from unstructured data, such as discharge summaries and notes encompassing symptoms. We used state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, such as recurrent neural networks (RNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM) networks, bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM) and BERT models after tokenizing the clinical test with Bio-ClinicalBERT, a pre-trained model from Hugging Face. To evaluate the efficacy of our approach, we conducted experiments utilizing the discharge dataset within MIMIC-III. Employing the BERT model, our methodology exhibited commendable accuracy in predicting the top 10 and top 50 diagnosis codes within the MIMIC-III dataset, achieving average accuracies of 88% and 80%, respectively. In comparison to recent studies by Biseda and Kerang, as well as Gangavarapu, which reported F1 scores of 0.72 in predicting the top 10 ICD-10 codes, our model demonstrated better performance, with an F1 score of 0.87. Similarly, in predicting the top 50 ICD-10 codes, previous research achieved an F1 score of 0.75, whereas our method attained an F1 score of 0.81. These results underscore the better performance of deep learning models over conventional machine learning approaches in this domain, thus validating our findings. The ability to predict diagnoses early from clinical notes holds promise in assisting doctors or physicians in determining effective treatments, thereby reshaping the conventional paradigm of diagnosis-then-treatment care. This article explores the possibilities for federated learning with a deep learning method as a basic approach to train detection models for fake news recognition. Federated learning is the key issue in this research because this kind of learning makes machine learning more secure by training models on decentralized data at decentralized places, for example, at different IoT edges. The data are not transformed between decentralized places, which means that personally identifiable data are not shared. This could increase the security of data from sensors in intelligent houses and medical devices or data from various resources in online spaces. Each station edge could train a model separately on data obtained from its sensors and on data extracted from different sources. Consequently, the models trained on local data on local clients are aggregated at the central ending point. We have designed three different architectures for deep learning as a basis for use within federated learning. The detection models were based on embeddings, CNNs (convolutional neural networks), and LSTM (long short-term memory). The best results were achieved using more LSTM layers (F1 = 0.92). On the other hand, all three architectures achieved similar results. We also analyzed results obtained using federated learning and without it. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the use of federated learning, in which data were decomposed and divided into smaller local datasets, does not significantly reduce the accuracy of the models. Transfer learning (TL) techniques, which leverage prior knowledge gained from data with different distributions to achieve higher performance and reduced training time, are often used in computer vision (CV) and natural language processing (NLP), but have yet to be fully utilized in the field of radio frequency machine learning (RFML). This work systematically evaluates how the training domain and task, characterized by the transmitter (Tx)/receiver (Rx) hardware and channel environment, impact radio frequency (RF) TL performance for example automatic modulation classification (AMC) and specific emitter identification (SEI) use-cases. Through exhaustive experimentation using carefully curated synthetic and captured datasets with varying signal types, channel types, signal to noise ratios (SNRs), carrier/center frequencys (CFs), frequency offsets (FOs), and Tx and Rx devices, actionable and generalized conclusions are drawn regarding how best to use RF TL techniques for domain adaptation and sequential learning. Consistent with trends identified in other modalities, our results show that RF TL performance is highly dependent on the similarity between the source and target domains/tasks, but also on the relative difficulty of the source and target domains/tasks. Results also discuss the impacts of channel environment and hardware variations on RF TL performance and compare RF TL performance using head re-training and model fine-tuning methods. Recently, the widespread use of social media and easy access to the Internet have brought about a significant transformation in the type of textual data available on the Web. This change is particularly evident in Arabic language usage, as the growing number of users from diverse domains has led to a considerable influx of Arabic text in various dialects, each characterized by differences in morphology, syntax, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Consequently, researchers in language recognition and natural language processing have become increasingly interested in identifying Arabic dialects. Numerous methods have been proposed to recognize this informal data, owing to its crucial implications for several applications, such as sentiment analysis, topic modeling, text summarization, and machine translation. However, Arabic dialect identification is a significant challenge due to the vast diversity of the Arabic language in its dialects. This study introduces a novel hybrid machine and deep learning model, incorporating an attention mechanism for detecting and classifying Arabic dialects. Several experiments were conducted using a novel dataset that collected information from user-generated comments from Twitter of Arabic dialects, namely, Egyptian, Gulf, Jordanian, and Yemeni, to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed model. The dataset comprises 34,905 rows extracted from Twitter, representing an unbalanced data distribution. The data annotation was performed by native speakers proficient in each dialect. The results demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms the performance of long short-term memory, bidirectional long short-term memory, and logistic regression models in dialect classification using different word representations as follows: term frequency-inverse document frequency, Word2Vec, and global vector for word representation. Recently, the release of large language models has taken the world by storm with concurrent excitement and concern. As a consequence of their impressive ability and versatility, their provide a potential opportunity for implementation in oncology. Areas of possible application include supporting clinical decision making, education, and contributing to cancer research. Despite the promises that these novel systems can offer, several limitations and barriers challenge their implementation. It is imperative that concerns, such as accountability, data inaccuracy, and data protection, are addressed prior to their integration in oncology. As the progression of artificial intelligence systems continues, new ethical and practical dilemmas will also be approached; thus, the evaluation of these limitations and concerns will be dynamic in nature. In recent years, online shopping has surged in popularity, with customer reviews becoming a crucial aspect of the decision-making process. Reviews not only help potential customers make informed choices, but also provide businesses with valuable feedback and build trust. In this study, we conducted a thorough analysis of the Amazon reviews dataset, which includes several product categories. Our primary objective was to accurately classify sentiments using natural language processing, machine learning, ensemble learning, and deep learning techniques. Our research workflow encompassed several crucial steps. We explore data collection procedures; preprocessing steps, including normalization and tokenization; and feature extraction, utilizing the Bag-of-Words and TF–IDF methods. We conducted experiments employing a variety of machine learning algorithms, including Multinomial Naive Bayes, Random Forest, Decision Tree, and Logistic Regression. Additionally, we harnessed Bagging as an ensemble learning technique. Furthermore, we explored deep learning-based algorithms, such as CNNs, Bidirectional LSTM, and transformer-based models, like XLNet and BERT. Our comprehensive evaluations, utilizing metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, revealed that the BERT algorithm outperformed others, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 89%. This research provides valuable insights into the sentiment analysis of Amazon reviews, aiding both consumers and businesses in making informed decisions and enhancing product and service quality. Deep learning has emerged as a powerful tool for medical image analysis and diagnosis, demonstrating high performance on tasks such as cancer detection. This literature review synthesizes current research on deep learning techniques applied to lung cancer screening and diagnosis. This review summarizes the state-of-the-art in deep learning for lung cancer detection, highlighting key advances, limitations, and future directions. We prioritized studies utilizing major public datasets, such as LIDC, LUNA16, and JSRT, to provide a comprehensive overview of the field. We focus on deep learning architectures, including 2D and 3D convolutional neural networks (CNNs), dual-path networks, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and vision transformers (ViT). Across studies, deep learning models consistently outperformed traditional machine learning techniques in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity for lung cancer detection in CT scans. This is attributed to the ability of deep learning models to automatically learn discriminative features from medical images and model complex spatial relationships. However, several challenges remain to be addressed before deep learning models can be widely deployed in clinical practice. These include model dependence on training data, generalization across datasets, integration of clinical metadata, and model interpretability. Overall, deep learning demonstrates great potential for lung cancer detection and precision medicine. However, more research is required to rigorously validate models and address risks. Malaria continues to pose a significant global health burden despite concerted efforts to combat it. In 2020, nearly half of the world's population faced the risk of malaria, underscoring the urgency of innovative strategies to tackle this pervasive threat. One of the major challenges lies in the emergence of the resistance of parasites to existing antimalarial drugs. This challenge necessitates the discovery of new, effective treatments capable of combating the Plasmodium parasite at various stages of its life cycle. Advanced computational approaches have been utilized to accelerate drug development, playing a crucial role in every stage of the drug discovery and development process. We have witnessed impressive and groundbreaking achievements, with GNNs applied to graph data and BERT from transformers across diverse NLP text analysis tasks. In this study, to facilitate a more efficient and effective approach, we proposed the integration of an NLP based model for SMILES (i.e., BERT) and a GNN model (i.e., RGCN) to predict the effect of antimalarial drugs against Plasmodium. The GNN model was trained using designed antimalarial drug and potential target (i.e., PfAcAS, F/GGPPS, and PfMAGL) graph-structured data with nodes representing antimalarial drugs and potential targets, and edges representing relationships between them. The performance of BERT-RGCN was further compared with that of Mordred-RGCN to evaluate its effectiveness. The BERT-RGCN and Mordred-RGCN models performed consistently well across different feature combinations, showcasing high accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, MCC, AUROC, and AUPRC values. These results suggest the effectiveness of the models in predicting antimalarial drugs against Plasmodium falciparum in various scenarios based on different sets of features of drugs and potential antimalarial targets. The first publication on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in pediatrics dates back to 1984. Since then, research on AI in pediatrics has become much more popular, and the number of publications has largely increased. Consequently, a need for a holistic research landscape enabling researchers and other interested parties to gain insights into the use of AI in pediatrics has arisen. To fill this gap, a novel methodology, synthetic knowledge synthesis (SKS), was applied. Using SKS, we identified the most prolific countries, institutions, source titles, funding agencies, and research themes and the most frequently used AI algorithms and their applications in pediatrics. The corpus was extracted from the Scopus (Elsevier, The Netherlands) bibliographic database and analyzed using VOSViewer, version 1.6.20. Done An exponential growth in the literature was observed in the last decade. The United States, China, and Canada were the most productive countries. Deep learning was the most used machine learning algorithm and classification, and natural language processing was the most popular AI approach. The task of company classification is traditionally performed using established standards, such as the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). However, these approaches heavily rely on laborious manual efforts by domain experts, resulting in slow, costly, and vendor-specific assignments. Therefore, we investigate recent natural language processing (NLP) advancements to automate the company classification process. In particular, we employ and evaluate various NLP-based models, including zero-shot learning, One-vs-Rest classification, multi-class classifiers, and ChatGPT-aided classification. We conduct a comprehensive comparison among these models to assess their effectiveness in the company classification task. The evaluation uses the Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) dataset, consisting of textual descriptions of publicly traded companies. Our findings reveal that the RoBERTa and One-vs-Rest classifiers surpass the other methods, achieving F1 scores of 0.81 and 0.80 on the WRDS dataset, respectively. These results demonstrate that deep learning algorithms offer the potential to automate, standardize, and continuously update classification systems in an efficient and cost-effective way. In addition, we introduce several improvements to the multi-class classification techniques: (1) in the zero-shot methodology, we TF-IDF to enhance sector representation, yielding improved accuracy in comparison to standard zero-shot classifiers; (2) next, we use ChatGPT for dataset generation, revealing potential in scenarios where datasets of company descriptions are lacking; and (3) we also employ K-Fold to reduce noise in the WRDS dataset, followed by conducting experiments to assess the impact of noise reduction on the company classification results. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a crucial tool in healthcare with the primary aim of improving patient outcomes and optimizing healthcare delivery. By harnessing machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and computer vision, AI enables the analysis of complex medical data. The integration of AI into healthcare systems aims to support clinicians, personalize patient care, and enhance population health, all while addressing the challenges posed by rising costs and limited resources. As a subdivision of computer science, AI focuses on the development of advanced algorithms capable of performing complex tasks that were once reliant on human intelligence. The ultimate goal is to achieve human-level performance with improved efficiency and accuracy in problem-solving and task execution, thereby reducing the need for human intervention. Various industries, including engineering, media/entertainment, finance, and education, have already reaped significant benefits by incorporating AI systems into their operations. Notably, the healthcare sector has witnessed rapid growth in the utilization of AI technology. Nevertheless, there remains untapped potential for AI to truly revolutionize the industry. It is important to note that despite concerns about job displacement, AI in healthcare should not be viewed as a threat to human workers. Instead, AI systems are designed to augment and support healthcare professionals, freeing up their time to focus on more complex and critical tasks. By automating routine and repetitive tasks, AI can alleviate the burden on healthcare professionals, allowing them to dedicate more attention to patient care and meaningful interactions. Network node embedding captures structural and relational information of nodes in the network and allows for us to use machine learning algorithms for various prediction tasks on network data that have an inherently complex and disordered structure. Network node embedding should preserve as much information as possible about important network properties where information is stored, such as network structure and node properties, while representing nodes as numerical vectors in a lower-dimensional space than the original higher dimensional space. Superior node embedding algorithms are a powerful tool for machine learning with effective and efficient node representation. Recent research in representation learning has led to significant advances in automating features through unsupervised learning, inspired by advances in natural language processing. Here, we seek to improve the representation quality of node embeddings with a new node vectorization technique that uses network analysis to overcome network-based information loss. In this study, we introduce the NodeVector algorithm, which combines network analysis and neural networks to transfer information from the target network to node embedding. As a proof of concept, our experiments performed on different categories of network datasets showed that our method achieves better results than its competitors for target networks. This is the first study to produce node representation by unsupervised learning using the combination of network analysis and neural networks to consider network data structure. Based on experimental results, the use of network analysis, complex initial node representation, balanced negative sampling, and neural networks has a positive effect on the representation quality of network node embedding.
