Simple Summary: This study initially analyzed surveillance videos to identify and extract key moments of Andrias davidianus' parental care behavior and established a dataset for this behavior. Based on this, this study optimized the existing YOLOv8 object detection model specifically for this task and proposed the ML-YOLOv8 model, which shows outstanding performance in recognizing and analyzing A. davidianus' parental care behavior. Following testing and verification, the ML-YOLOv8 model demonstrated excellent performance in efficiently and accurately detecting A. davidianus' parental care behavior. The findings of this study not only provide evidence for optimizing breeding technology and conservation management of A. davidianus in their natural habitat but also offer new technical means and research ideas for studying amphibian behavioral ecology. Optimizing the breeding techniques and increasing the hatching rate of Andrias davidianus offspring necessitates a thorough understanding of its parental care behaviors. However, A. davidianus' nocturnal and cave-dwelling tendencies pose significant challenges for direct observation. To address this problem, this study constructed a dataset for the parental care behavior of A. davidianus, applied the target detection method to this behavior for the first time, and proposed a detection model for A. davidianus' parental care behavior based on the YOLOv8s algorithm. Firstly, a multi-scale feature fusion convolution (MSConv) is proposed and combined with a C2f module, which significantly enhances the feature extraction capability of the model. Secondly, the large separable kernel attention is introduced into the spatial pyramid pooling fast (SPPF) layer to effectively reduce the interference factors in the complex environment. Thirdly, to address the problem of low quality of captured images, Wise-IoU (WIoU) is used to replace CIoU in the original YOLOv8 to optimize the loss function and improve the model's robustness. The experimental results show that the model achieves 85.7% in the mAP50-95, surpassing the YOLOv8s model by 2.1%. Compared with other mainstream models, the overall performance of our model is much better and can effectively detect the parental care behavior of A. davidianus. Our research method not only offers a reference for the behavior recognition of A. davidianus and other amphibians but also provides a new strategy for the smart breeding of A. davidianus. The efficacy of functional lipids with antioxidant properties in reducing cardiovascular risk has not been consistent. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting estimates for the effects of antioxidant functional lipid supplementations on cardiometabolic risk factors were searched up to 1 May 2024. Overall, antioxidant lipid supplementations, compared with placebo, had favorable effects on systolic blood pressure (lycopene: −1.95 [−3.54, −0.36] mmHg), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (n6 fatty acid: −0.39 [−0.71, −0.06] mmol/L; astaxanthin: −0.11 [−0.21, −0.01] mmol/L), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (n3 fatty acid: 0.20 [0.13, 0.27] mmol/L; n6 fatty acid: 0.08 [0.01, 0.14] mmol/L; astaxanthin: 0.13 [0.05, 0.21] mmol/L), total cholesterol (n6 fatty acid: −0.24 [−0.37, −0.11] mmol/L; astaxanthin: −0.22 [−0.32, −0.12] mmol/L; beta-carotene: −0.13 [−0.23, −0.04] mmol/L), triglyceride (n3 fatty acid: −0.37 [−0.47, −0.28] mmol/L; astaxanthin: −0.46 [−0.83, −0.10] mmol/L), and fasting blood insulin (astaxanthin: −2.66 [−3.98, −1.34] pmol/L). The benefits of antioxidant lipid supplementations appeared to be most evident in blood pressure and blood lipids in participants with different cardiometabolic health statuses. Notably, n9 fatty acid increased triglyceride and hemoglobin A1C in the total population, which increases CVD risk. Antioxidant lipid supplementations ameliorate cardiometabolic risk factors, while their effect may depend on type and cardiometabolic health status. Actinidia latifolia, with the highest vitamin C content in its genus, is a unique wild relative of kiwifruit that could be important for genetic breeding research. Climate change significantly influences the distribution range of wild plants. Accurately assessing the potential distribution of wild kiwifruit and its response to climate change is crucial for the effective protection and sustainable utilization of its germplasm resources. In this study, we utilized the optimized MaxEnt model to predict the potential habitats of A. latifolia in China, employing the jackknife test to assess the importance of environmental variables in our modeling process. The results showed that annual precipitation (Bio12) and temperature annual range (Bio7) emerged as the most influential environmental variables affecting the distribution of this kiwifruit wild relative. As radiative forcing and time increase, the potential habitats of A. latifolia in China are projected to shrink southward, thereby exacerbating habitat fragmentation. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive fibrotic lung disease for which there is a lack of effective pharmacological treatments. Hirudin, a natural peptide extracted from leeches, has been used for broad pharmacological purposes. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effects of hirudin on IPF and its related mechanism of action. By constructing a mouse model of pulmonary fibrosis and treating it with hirudin in vivo, we found that hirudin exerted anti-fibrotic, anti-oxidative, and anti-fibroblast senescence effects. Moreover, using an in vitro model of stress-induced premature senescence in primary mouse lung fibroblasts and treating with hirudin, we observed inhibition of fibroblast senescence and upregulation of PGC1-alpha and Sirt3 expression. However, specific silencing of PGC1-alpha or Sirt3 suppressed the anti-fibroblast senescence effect of hirudin. Thus, the PGC1-alpha/Sirt3 pathway mediates the anti-fibroblast senescence effect of hirudin, potentially serving as a molecular mechanism underlying its anti-fibrosis and anti-oxidative stress effects exerted on the lungs. In order to improve the efficiency of fine segmentation and obstacle removal in the road of tea plantation in hilly areas, a lightweight and high-precision DR-YOLO instance segmentation algorithm is proposed to realize environment awareness. Firstly, the road data of tea gardens in hilly areas were collected under different road conditions and light conditions, and data sets were generated. YOLOv8n-seg, which has the highest operating efficiency, was selected as the basic model. The MSDA-CBAM and DR-Neck feature fusion network were added to the YOLOv8-seg model to improve the feature extraction capability of the network and the feature fusion capability and efficiency of the model. Experimental results show that, compared with the YOLOv8-seg model, the DR-YOLO model proposed in this study has 2.0% improvement in AP@0.5 and 1.1% improvement in Precision. In this study, the DR-YOLO model is pruned and quantitatively compressed, which greatly improves the model inference speed with little reduction in AP. After deploying on Jetson, compared with the YOLOv8n-seg model, the Precision of DR-YOLO is increased by 0.6%, the AP@0.5 is increased by 1.6%, and the inference time is reduced by 17.1%, which can effectively improve the level of agricultural intelligent automation and realize the efficient operation of the instance segmentation model at the edge. Cutting-edge detection is a critical step in mechanized rice harvesting. Through visual cutting-edge detection, an algorithm can sense in real-time whether the rice harvesting process is along the cutting-edge, reducing loss and improving the efficiency of mechanized harvest. Although convolutional neural network-based models, which have strong local feature acquisition ability, have been widely used in rice production, these models involve large receptive fields only in the deep network. Besides, a self-attention-based Transformer can effectively provide global features to complement the disadvantages of CNNs. Hence, to quickly and accurately complete the task of cutting-edge detection in a complex rice harvesting environment, this article develops a Transformer Convolution Network (TCNet). This cutting-edge detection algorithm combines the Transformer with a CNN. Specifically, the Transformer realizes a patch embedding through a 3 × 3 convolution, and the output is employed as the input of the Transformer module. Additionally, the multi-head attention in the Transformer module undergoes dimensionality reduction to reduce overall network computation. In the Feed-forward network, a 7 × 7 convolution operation is used to realize the position-coding of different patches. Moreover, CNN uses depth-separable convolutions to extract local features from the images. The global features extracted by the Transformer and the local features extracted by the CNN are integrated into the fusion module. The test results demonstrated that TCNet could segment 97.88% of the Intersection over Union and 98.95% of the Accuracy in the unharvested region, and the number of parameters is only 10.796M. Cutting-edge detection is better than common lightweight backbone networks, achieving the detection effect of deep convolutional networks (ResNet-50) with fewer parameters. The timely and accurate mapping of crop types is crucial for agricultural insurance, futures, and assessments of food security risks. However, crop mapping is currently focused on the post-harvest period, and less attention has been paid to early crop mapping. In this study, the feasibility of using Sentinel-1 (S1) and Sentinel-2 (S2) data for the earliest identifiable time (EIT) for major crops (sunflower, maize, spring wheat, and melon) was explored in the Hetao Irrigation District (HID) of China, based on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. An early crop identification strategy based on the Random Forest (RF) model for HID was proposed, and the performance of the model transfer was evaluated. First, the median synthesis, linear shift interpolation, and the Savitzky–Golay (SG) filter methods were used to reconstruct the time series of S1 and S2. Subsequently, the sensitivity of different input features, time intervals, and data integration to different early crop identifications was evaluated based on the RF model. Finally, the model with optimal parameters was evaluated in terms of its transfer capacity and used for the early mapping of crops in the HID area. The results showed that the features extracted from S2 images synthesized at 10-day intervals performed well in obtaining crop EITs. Sunflower, maize, spring wheat, and melon could be identified 90, 90, 70, and 40 days earlier than the harvest date. The identification accuracy, measured by the F1-score, could reach 0.97, 0.95, 0.98, and 0.90, respectively. The performance of the model transfer is good, with the F1-score decreasing from 0 to 0.04 and no change in EIT for different crops. It was also found that the EIT of crops obtained using S1 data alone was 50–90 days later than that obtained using S2 data alone. Additionally, when S1 and S2 were used jointly, S1 data contributed little to early crop identification. This study highlights the potential of early crop mapping using satellite data, which provides a feasible solution for the early identification of crops in the HID area and valuable information for food security assurance in the region. Bioremediation has drawn widespread concern in passivating heavy metals, but the intense toxicity of heavy metals to biological cells limits the application of functional strains. Herein, goethite-modified biochar (GMB) was chosen as the carrier to immobilize phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) of strain L1 for lead and cadmium remediation. Batch experiments showed that the GMB-L1 possessed excellent adsorption performance with a maximum adsorption of 496.54 and 178.18 mg/g for Pb and Cd, respectively. Moreover, adding GMB-L1 in contaminated soil converted heavy metals (Pb and Cd) into more stable fractions and reduced TCLP-extracted heavy metal concentrations (73.24% of Pb and 57.25% of Cd). The GMB-L1 was proved to accomplish Pb and Cd remediation via the process of chemical precipitation, surface complexation, electrostatic attraction, and biomineralization, which was accompanied by the transformation of heavy metals into a more stable crystal structure, such as Pb5(PO4)3OH and Cd5(PO4)3OH. Deep geothermal energy is a sustainable and renewable spacing heating source. Although many studies have discussed the design optimization of deep borehole systems, few have accomplished optimization and in-depth analysis of system operation control. In this study, an analytical model of the U-type deep borehole heat exchanger is proposed, and the average relative error between the simulated outlet temperatures and experimental data is −3.2%. Then, this paper presents an integrated model for the operation optimization study of the U-type deep-borehole ground source heat pump system. The optimal control of flow rate is adopted to match the variation in heating load. Compared with the constant-flow rate (110 m3/h) operation mode, the variable flow rate method reduces the power consumption of the heat pump and circulating pump by 22.1%, from 288,423 kW·h to 224,592 kW·h, during 2112 h of operation. In addition, the system has a larger RHS and COP when the thermal conductivity of the backfill material increases. When the borehole depth increases by 200 m from 2300 m, the energy consumption of the circulating pump will drop from 85,844 kW·h to 56,548 kW·h. The COP of the heat pump unit will decrease approximately linearly as the heating load increases, and the total power consumption will increase accordingly. Breathable membranes with micropores enable the transfer of gas molecules while blocking liquids and solids, and have a wide range of applications in medical, industrial, environmental, and energy fields. Breathability is highly influenced by the nature of a material, pore size, and pore structure. Preparation methods and the incorporation of functional materials are responsible for the variety of physical properties and applications of breathable membranes. In this review, the preparation methods of breathable membranes, including blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion, phase separation, and electrospinning, are discussed. According to the antibacterial, hydrophobic, thermal insulation, conductive, and adsorption properties, the application of breathable membranes in the fields of electronics, medicine, textiles, packaging, energy, and the environment are summarized. Baijiu is a renowned Chinese distilled liquor, notable for its distinctive flavor profile and intricate production process, which prominently involves fermentation and distillation. Ethyl carbamate (EC), a probable human carcinogen, can be potentially formed during these procedures, thus prompting significant health concerns. Consequently, the contamination of EC during Baijiu production has become an increasingly pressing issue. In this study, we developed a rapid and easily operable immunoassay for determining EC in the fermented materials used in Baijiu production. The development of a high-quality antibody specific to EC facilitated a streamlined analytical procedure and heightened method sensitivity. Furthermore, we systematically evaluated other essential parameters. Following optimization, the method achieved an IC50 value of 11.83 μg/kg, with negligible cross-reactivity against EC analogs. The recovery study demonstrated the method's good accuracy and precision, with mean recovery rates ranging from 86.0% to 105.5% and coefficients of variation all below 10%. To validate the feasibility of the technique, we collected and analyzed 39 samples simultaneously using both the proposed immunoassay and confirmatory gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A robust correlation was observed between the results obtained from the two methods (R2 > 0.99). Sulfate radical-based advanced oxidation processes exhibit great potential for the degradation of organic pollutants. In this study, P-doped biochar (PBC500) was successfully synthesized by the pyrolysis of H3PO4-impregnated cow manure waste and was employed to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the elimination of 17β-estradiol (E2). The characterization results showed that the surface area, defective structure, and functional groups (C=O and phosphorus-containing groups) of biochar increased after H3PO4 modification. PBC500 exhibited high PMS activation activity and excellent E2 degradation capacity; 97.91% of 3 mg/L E2 can be removed within 90 min using 0.2 g/L PBC500 and 1 mM PMS. Based on the quenching experiments and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, defective structures, C=O, and P-C groups on biochar act as active sites to promote the catalytic oxidation of E2 by generating O2− and 1O2. In addition, PBC500 displayed excellent reusability, achieving 65.15% E2 degradation after three reuse cycles. Overall, this study presented a new technique that supports a high efficiency, environmentally friendly, and low cost treatment method for E2 wastewater and simultaneously provided a new option for the resource utilization of livestock waste. Background: Sarcopenia is an age-related condition characterized by progressive loss of muscle mass, strength, and function. The occurrence of sarcopenia has a huge impact on physical, psychological, and social health. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia is becoming an important public health issue. Method: 35 six-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into five groups, one of which served as a control group, while the rest of the groups were constructed as a model of sarcopenia by intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose. The intervention with lactoferrin, creatine, and their mixtures, respectively, was carried out through gavage for 8 weeks. Muscle function was assessed based on their endurance, hanging time, and grip strength. The muscle tissues were weighed to assess the changes in mass, and the muscle RNA was extracted for myogenic factor expression and transcriptome sequencing to speculate on the potential mechanism of action by GO and KEGG enrichment analysis. Result: The muscle mass (lean mass, GAS index), and muscle function (endurance, hanging time, and grip strength) decreased, and the size and structure of myofiber was smaller in the model group compared to the control group. The intervention with lactoferrin and creatine, either alone or combination, improved muscle mass and function, restored muscle tissue, and increased the expression of myogenic regulators. The combined group demonstrated the most significant improvement in these indexes. The RNA-seq results revealed enrichment in the longevity-regulated pathway, MAPK pathway, focal adhesion, and ECM–receptor interaction pathway in the intervention group. The intervention group may influence muscle function by affecting the proliferation, differentiation, senescence of skeletal muscle cell, and contraction of muscle fiber. The combined group also enriched the mTOR-S6K/4E-BPs signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, and energy metabolism-related pathways, including Apelin signaling, insulin resistance pathway, and adipocytokine signaling pathway, which affect energy metabolism in muscle. Conclusions: Lactoferrin and creatine, either alone or in combination, were found to inhibit the progression of sarcopenia by influencing the number and cross-sectional area of muscle fibers and muscle protein synthesis. Quasi-continuous-phase metasurfaces overcome the side effects imposed by high-order diffraction on imaging and can impart optical parameters such as amplitude, phase, polarization, and frequency to incident light at sub-wavelength scales with high efficiency. Structured-light three-dimensional (3D) imaging is a hot topic in the field of 3D imaging because of its advantages of low computation cost, high imaging accuracy, fast imaging speed, and cost-effectiveness. Structured-light 3D imaging requires uniform diffractive optical elements (DOEs), which could be realized by quasi-continuous-phase metasurfaces. In this paper, we design a quasi-continuous-phase metasurface beam splitter through a vector iterative Fourier transform algorithm and utilize this device to realize structured-light 3D imaging of a target object with subsequent target reconstruction. A structured-light 3D imaging system is then experimentally implemented by combining the fabricated quasi-continuous-phase metasurface illuminated by the vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser and a binocular recognition system, which eventually provides a new technological path for the 3D imaging field. Federated learning (FL) is widely regarded as highly promising because it enables the collaborative training of high-performance machine learning models among a large number of clients while preserving data privacy by keeping the data local. However, many existing FL frameworks have a two-layered architecture, thus requiring the frequent exchange of large-scale model parameters between clients and remote cloud servers over often unstable networks and resulting in significant communication overhead and latency. To address this issue, we propose to introduce edge servers between the clients and the cloud server to assist in aggregating local models, thus combining asynchronous client–edge model aggregation with synchronous edge–cloud model aggregation. By leveraging the clients' idle time to accelerate training, the proposed framework can achieve faster convergence and reduce the amount of communication traffic. To make full use of the grouping properties inherent in three-layer FL, we propose a similarity matching strategy between edges and clients, thus improving the effect of asynchronous training. We further propose to introduce model-contrastive learning into the loss function and personalize the clients' local models to address the potential learning issues resulting from asynchronous local training in order to further improve the convergence speed. Extensive experiments confirm that our method exhibits significant improvements in model accuracy and convergence speed when compared with other state-of-the-art federated learning architectures. This study addressed the limitations of traditional methods in predicting air pollution dispersion, which include restrictions in handling spatiotemporal dynamics, unbalanced feature importance, and data scarcity. To overcome these challenges, this research introduces a novel deep learning-based model, SAResNet-TCN, which integrates the strengths of a Residual Neural Network (ResNet) and a Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN). This fusion is designed to effectively capture the spatiotemporal characteristics and temporal correlations within pollutant dispersion data. The incorporation of a sparse attention (SA) mechanism further refines the model's focus on critical information, thereby improving efficiency. Furthermore, this study employed a Time-Series Generative Adversarial Network (TimeGAN) to augment the dataset, thereby improving the generalisability of the model. In rigorous ablation and comparison experiments, the SAResNet-TCN model demonstrated significant advances in predicting pollutant dispersion patterns, including accurate predictions of concentration peaks and trends. These results were enhanced by a global sensitivity analysis (GSA) and an additive-by-addition approach, which identified the optimal combination of input variables for different scenarios by examining their impact on the model's performance. This study also included visual representations of the maximum downwind hazardous distance (MDH-distance) for pollutants, validated against the Prairie Grass Project Release 31, with the Protective Action Criteria (PAC) and Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) levels serving as hazard thresholds. The construction of new towns is one of the main measures to evacuate urban populations and promote regional coordination and urban–rural integration in China. Mining the spatio-temporal pattern of new town hot spots based on multivariate data and analyzing the influencing factors of new town construction hot spots can provide a strategic basis for new town construction, but few researchers have extracted and analyzed the influencing factors of new town internal hot spots and their classification. In order to define the key points of Wuhan's new town construction and promote the construction of new cities in an orderly and efficient manner, this paper first constructs a space-time cube based on the luminous remote sensing data from 2010 to 2019, extracts hot spots and emerging hot spots in Wuhan New City, selects 14 influencing factor indicators such as population density, and uses bivariate Moran's index to analyze the influencing factors of hot spots, indicating that the number of bus stops and vegetation coverage rate are the most significant. Secondly, the disorderly multivariate logistic regression model is used to analyze the influencing factors of emerging hot spots. The results show that population density, vegetation coverage, road density, distance to water bodies, and distance to train stations are the most significant factors. Finally, based on the analysis results, some relevant suggestions for the construction of Wuhan New City are proposed, providing theoretical support for the planning and policy guidance of new cities, and offering reference for the construction of new towns in other cities, promoting the construction of high-quality cities. Rabies virus (RABV) is a neurotropic virus that causes fatal neurological disease, raising serious public health issues and attracting extensive attention in society. To elucidate the molecular mechanism of RABV-induced neuronal damage, we used hematoxylin–eosin staining, transmission electron microscopy, transcriptomics analysis, and immune response factor testing to investigate RABV-infected neurons. We successfully isolated the neurons from murine brains. The specificity of the isolated neurons was identified by a monoclonal antibody, and the viability of the neurons was 83.53–95.0%. We confirmed that RABV infection induced serious damage to the neurons according to histochemistry and transmission electron microscope (TEM) scanning. In addition, the transcriptomics analysis suggested that multiple genes related to the pyroptosis pathway were significantly upregulated, including gasdermin D (Gsdmd), Nlrp3, caspase-1, and IL-1β, as well as the chemokine genes Ccl2, Ccl3, Ccl4, Ccl5, Ccl7, Ccl12, and Cxcl10. We next verified this finding in the brains of mice infected with the rRC-HL, GX074, and challenge virus standard strain-24 (CVS-24) strains of RABV. Importantly, we found that the expression level of the Gsdmd protein was significantly upregulated in the neurons infected with different RABV strains and ranged from 691.1 to 5764.96 pg/mL, while the basal level of mock-infected neurons was less than 100 pg/mL. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a fatal interstitial lung disease for which effective drug therapies are lacking. Senegenin, an effective active compound from the traditional Chinese herb Polygala tenuifolia Willd, has been shown to have a wide range of pharmacological effects. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effects of senegenin on pulmonary fibrosis and their associated mechanisms of action. We found that senegenin inhibited the senescence of epithelial cells and thus exerted anti-pulmonary-fibrosis effects by inhibiting oxidative stress. In addition, we found that senegenin promoted the expression of Sirt1 and Pgc-1α and that the antioxidative and antisenescent effects of senegenin were suppressed by specific silencing of the Sirt1 and Pgc–1α genes, respectively. Moreover, the senegenin-induced effects of antioxidation, antisenescence of epithelial cells, and antifibrosis were inhibited by treatment with Sirt1 inhibitors in vivo. Plant factories offer a promising solution to some of the challenges facing traditional agriculture, allowing for year-round rapid production of plant-derived foods. However, the effects of conditions in plant factories on metabolic nutrients remain to be explored. In this study, we used three rice accessions (KongYu131, HuangHuaZhan, and Kam Sweet Rice) as objectives, which were planted in a plant factory with strict photoperiods that are long-day (12 h light/12 h dark) or short-day (8 h light/16 h dark). A total of 438 metabolites were detected in the harvested rice grains. The difference in photoperiod leads to a different accumulation of metabolites in rice grains. Most metabolites accumulated significantly higher levels under the short-day condition than the long-day condition. Differentially accumulated metabolites were enriched in the amino acids and vitamin B6 pathway. Asparagine, pyridoxamine, and pyridoxine are key metabolites that accumulate at higher levels in rice grains harvested from the short-day photoperiod. This study reveals the photoperiod-dependent metabolomic differences in rice cultivated in plant factories, especially the metabolic profiling of taste- and nutrition-related compounds. For well-known orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), the cyclic prefix (CP) is essential for coping with multipath channels. Nevertheless, CP is a pure redundant signal, which wastes valuable time–frequency resources. We propose a novel waveform based on symbol repetition, which is presented to cut down the CP overhead in OFDM. In the presented OFDM with symbol repetition (SR-OFDM), one CP is inserted in the front of several transmitted symbols, instead of only one symbol, as in the conventional way. As a result, it can save the overhead created by CP. Furthermore, due to the existence of the remaining CP, the multipath channel can still be converted into the frequency domain, and single-tap equalization can still be used to equalize information free from interference. In addition, we also extend the proposed SR-OFDM into multiple input–multiple output (MIMO) systems. Finally, the proposed schemes are validated by computer simulations under the various channels. Self-assembled peptide-based nanobiomaterials exhibit promising prospects for drug delivery applications owing to their commendable biocompatibility and biodegradability, facile tissue uptake and utilization, and minimal or negligible unexpected toxicity. TFF3 is an active peptide autonomously secreted by gastric mucosal cells, possessing multiple biological functions. It acts on the surface of the gastric mucosa, facilitating the repair process of gastric mucosal damage. However, when used as a drug, TFF3 faces significant challenges, including short retention time in the gastric mucosal cavity and deactivation due to degradation by stomach acid. In response to this challenge, we developed a self−assembled short peptide hydrogel, Rqdl10, designed as a delivery vehicle for TFF3. Our investigation encompasses an assessment of its properties, biocompatibility, controlled release of TFF3, and the mechanism underlying the promotion of gastric mucosal injury repair. Congo red/aniline blue staining revealed that Rqdl10 promptly self-assembled in PBS, forming hydrogels. Circular dichroism spectra indicated the presence of a stable β-sheet secondary structure in the Rqdl10 hydrogel. Cryo-scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy observations demonstrated that the Rqdl10 formed vesicle-like structures in the PBS, which were interconnected to construct a three-dimensional nanostructure. Moreover, the Rqdl10 hydrogel exhibited outstanding biocompatibility and could sustainably and slowly release TFF3. The utilization of the Rqdl10 hydrogel as a carrier for TFF3 substantially augmented its proliferative and migratory capabilities, while concurrently bolstering its anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic attributes following gastric mucosal injury. Our findings underscore the immense potential of the self-assembled peptide hydrogel Rqdl10 for biomedical applications, promising significant contributions to healthcare science. This study investigates the growth dynamics and heavy metal immobilization in Sudan grass cultivated on substrates composed of electrolytic manganese residue (EMR), phosphogypsum, and chili straw biochar. Pot experiments revealed that a substrate with phosphogypsum constituting 75% of the mix hinders Sudan grass seed germination. Compared with sole EMR utilization, the composite substrates notably enhanced plant growth, evidenced by increases in plant height and fresh weight. The integration of these substrates led to a significant elevation in total chlorophyll content (up to 54.39%) and a reduction in malondialdehyde (MDA) levels (up to 21.66%), indicating improved photosynthetic activity and lower oxidative stress. The addition of biochar reduced the content of Zn, Cd, and Mn in the roots of Sudan grass by up to 25.92%, 20.00%, and 43.17%, respectively; and reduced the content of Pb, Mn, and Cr in the shoot by up to 33.72%, 17.53%, and 26.32%, respectively. Fuzzy membership function analysis identified the optimal substrate composition as 75% EMR and 25% phosphogypsum, with 5% chili straw biochar, based on overall performance metrics. Tripartite motif (TRIM) proteins are a multifunctional E3 ubiquitin ligase family that participates in various cellular processes. Recent studies have shown that TRIM proteins play important roles in regulating host–virus interactions through specific pathways, but their involvement in response to rabies virus (RABV) infection remains poorly understood. Here, we identified that several TRIM proteins are upregulated in mouse neuroblastoma cells (NA) after infection with the rabies virus using RNA-seq sequencing. Among them, TRIM44 was found to regulate RABV replication. This is supported by the observations that downregulation of TRIM44 inhibits RABV replication, while overexpression of TRIM44 promotes RABV replication. Mechanistically, TRIM44-induced RABV replication is brought about by activating autophagy, as inhibition of autophagy with 3-MA attenuates TRIM44-induced RABV replication. Additionally, we found that inhibition of autophagy with rapamycin reverses the TRIM44-knockdown-induced decrease in LC3B expression and autophagosome formation as well as RABV replication. The results suggest that TRIM44 promotes RABV replication by an autophagy-dependent mechanism. Background: The discovery of traditional plants' medicinal and nutritional properties has opened up new avenues for developing pharmaceutical and dietary strategies to prevent atherosclerosis. However, the effect of the antioxidant Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide (DOP) on atherosclerosis is still not elucidated. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the inhibitory effect and the potential mechanism of DOP on high-fat diet-induced atherosclerosis in Apolipoprotein E knockout (ApoE−/−) mice. Study design and methods: The identification of DOP was measured by high-performance gel permeation chromatography (HPLC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). We used high-fat diet (HFD)-induced atherosclerosis in ApoE−/− mice as an animal model. In the DOP intervention stage, the DOP group was treated by gavage with 200 μL of 200 mg/kg DOP at regular times each day and continued for eight weeks. We detected changes in serum lipid profiles, inflammatory factors, anti-inflammatory factors, and antioxidant capacity to investigate the effect of the DOP on host metabolism. We also determined microbial composition using 16S rRNA gene sequencing to investigate whether the DOP could improve the structure of the gut microbiota in atherosclerotic mice. Results: DOP effectively inhibited histopathological deterioration in atherosclerotic mice and significantly reduced serum lipid levels, inflammatory factors, and malondialdehyde (F/B) production. Additionally, the levels of anti-inflammatory factors and the activity of antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX), were significantly increased after DOP intervention. Furthermore, we found that DOP restructures the gut microbiota composition by decreasing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidota (F/B) ratio. The Spearman's correlation analysis indicated that serum lipid profiles, antioxidant activity, and pro-/anti-inflammatory factors were associated with Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, Allobaculum, and Coriobacteriaceae_UCG-002. Tibetan pig is a geographically isolated pig breed that inhabits high-altitude areas of the Qinghai–Tibetan plateau. At present, there is limited research on viral diseases in Tibetan pigs. This study provides a novel metagenomic exploration of the gut virome in Tibetan pigs (altitude ≈ 3000 m) across three critical developmental stages, including lactation, nursery, and fattening. The composition of viral communities in the Tibetan pig intestine, with a dominant presence of Microviridae phages observed across all stages of development, in combination with the previous literature, suggest that it may be associated with geographical locations with high altitude. Functional annotation of viral operational taxonomic units (vOTUs) highlights that, among the constantly increasing vOTUs groups, the adaptability of viruses to environmental stressors such as salt and heat indicates an evolutionary response to high-altitude conditions. It shows that the lactation group has more abundant viral auxiliary metabolic genes (vAMGs) than the nursery and fattening groups. During the nursery and fattening stages, this leaves only DNMT1 at a high level. which may be a contributing factor in promoting gut health. The study found that viruses preferentially adopt lytic lifestyles at all three developmental stages. These findings not only elucidate the dynamic interplay between the gut virome and host development, offering novel insights into the virome ecology of Tibetan pigs and their adaptation to high-altitude environments, but also provide a theoretical basis for further studies on pig production and epidemic prevention under extreme environmental conditions. Highlights: What are the main findings? A comprehensive simulation model including particle flow and radiation transfer was developed for a CPC photocatalytic reactor. Compound parabolic concentrator (CPC) photocatalytic reactors are commonly used for photocatalytic water splitting in hydrogen production. This study aimed to gain a better understanding of the physical processes in CPC photocatalytic reactors and provide theoretical support for their design, optimization, and operation. The analysis involved the ray tracing approach, Euler–Euler two-fluid model, and discrete ordinates method (DOM) to study solar radiation transfer and particle flow in the reactor. The distribution of solar radiation on the receiving tube's surface after CPC concentration was obtained by conducting the ray tracing approach. This solar radiation distribution was then coupled into the Euler–Euler two-fluid model to solve for the natural convection flow field, the temperature field, and particle phase volume fraction distribution inside the receiving tube over a period of 120 s. Lastly, the discrete ordinates method (DOM) was used to analyze the transfer of radiation inside the receiving tube at different times, obtaining the distribution of local volume radiative power absorption (LVRPA) and the total radiative power absorption (TRPA) inside the tube. The results showed that the TRPA reached its maximum at 120 s, accounting for 66.61% of the incident solar UV radiation. This study delves into the impact toughness of medium-thick (12 mm thick) titanium alloy joints crafted through a multi-layer, multi-pass welding technique that blends laser-arc (MIG) hybrid welding technology. Microstructural scrutiny, employing optical microscopy, SEM and TEM, unveils a consistent composition across weld passes, with prevailing α/α′ phases interspersed with some β phase, resulting in basket-weave structures primarily dominated by acicular α′ martensite. However, upper regions exhibit Widmanstatten microstructures, potentially undermining joint toughness. Hardness testing indicates higher values in cosmetic layers (~420 HV) compared to backing layers and bending tests manifest superior toughness in lower joint regions, attributed to smaller grain sizes induced by repetitive welding thermal cycles. Impact toughness assessment unveils diminished values in the weld metal (WM) compared to the heat-affected zone (HAZ) and base material (BM), amounting to 91.3% of the base metal's absorption energy. This decrement is ascribed to heightened porosity in upper regions and variations in grain size and phase composition due to multi-layer, multi-pass welding. Microstructural analysis proximal to failure sites suggests one mechanism wherein crack propagation is impeded by the β phase at acute crack angles. In essence, this study not only underscores the practicality of laser-MIG hybrid welding for medium-thick TC4 alloy plates but also underscores the reliability of joint mechanical properties. Conventional paint spraying processes often use small molecule organic solvents and emit a large amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are highly toxic, flammable, and explosive. Alternatively, the spraying technology using supercritical CO2 (scCO2) as a solvent has attracted attention because of its ability to reduce VOC emissions, but the flow characteristics of coatings have not been thoroughly studied. Therefore, we numerically simulate the spraying process based on the actual process of scCO2 spraying polyurethane coatings by computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The effects of inlet pressure and volume fraction of scCO2 on the fluid motion parameters inside the nozzle as well as the atomization effect of droplets outside the nozzle are investigated. The simulated results show that a fluid with a large volume fraction of scCO2 will obtain a smaller density, resulting in a larger velocity and a larger distance for the spray to effectively spray. Higher coating content and bigger inlet pressures will result in higher discrete phase model (DPM) concentrations, and thus a bigger inlet pressure should be used to make the droplets more uniform across the 30° spray range. Ticks are an important type of pathogen transmission vector, and pathogens not only cause serious harm to livestock but can also infect humans. Because of the roles that ticks play in disease transmission, reducing tick pathogen infectivity has become increasingly important and requires the identification and characterization of these pathogens and their interaction mechanisms. In this study, we determined the miRNA expression profile of Hemaphysalis longicornis infected with Theileria orientalis, predicted the target genes of miRNAs involved in this infection process, and investigated the role of miRNA target recognition during host–pathogen interactions. The results showed that longipain is a target gene of miR-5309, which was differentially expressed at different developmental stages and in various tissues in the control group. However, the miR-5309 level was reduced in the infection group. Analysis of the interaction between miRNA and the target gene showed that miR-5309 negatively regulated the expression of the longipain protein during the infection of H. longicornis with T. orientalis. To verify this inference, we compared longipain with the blocking agent orientalis. In this study, the expression of longipain was upregulated by the inhibition of miR-5309 in ticks, and the ability of the antibody produced by the tick-derived protein to attenuate T. orientalis infection was verified through animal immunity and antigen–antibody binding tests. The results showed that expression of the longipain + GST fusion protein caused the cattle to produce antibodies that could be successfully captured by ticks, and cellular immunity was subsequently activated in the ticks, resulting in a subtractive effect on T. orientalis infection. This research provides ideas for the control of ticks and tickborne diseases and a research basis for studying the mechanism underlying the interaction between ticks and pathogens. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, and it is a multifactorial disease of the intestinal mucosa. Oxidative stress damage and inflammation are major risk factors for IBD. Vitamin E has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Our previous work and other investigations have shown that vitamin E has a positive effect on the prevention and treatment of IBD. In this paper, the source and structure of vitamin E and the potential mechanism of vitamin E’s role in IBD were summarized, and we also analyzed the status of vitamin E deficiency in patients with IBD and the effect of vitamin E supplementation on IBD. The potential mechanisms by which vitamin E plays a role in the prevention and treatment of IBD include improvement of oxidative damage, enhancement of immunity, maintenance of intestinal barrier integrity, and suppression of inflammatory cytokines, modulating the gut microbiota and other relevant factors. The review will improve our understanding of the complex mechanism by which vitamin E inhibits IBD, and it also provides references for doctors in clinical practice and researchers in this field. At present, in the mineral flotation process, flotation data are easily influenced by various factors, resulting in non-stationary time series data, which lead to overfitting of prediction models, ultimately severely affecting the accuracy of grade prediction. Thus, this study proposes a de-stationary attention mechanism based on the transformer model (DST) to learn non-stationary information in raw mineral data sequences. First, normalization processing is performed on matched flotation data and mineral grade values, to make the data sequences stationary, thereby enhancing model prediction capabilities. Then, the proposed de-stationary attention mechanism is employed to learn the temporal dependencies of mineral flotation data in the transformed vanilla transformer model, i.e., non-stationary information in the mineral data sequences. Lastly, de-normalization processing is conducted to maintain the mineral prediction results within the same scale as the original data. The co-allocation of photovoltaic arrays with crops presents a promising strategy to mitigate the conflict between photovoltaics and agricultural land. However, there is a notable lack of quantitative research on the impact of agrivoltaic system on land quality in fragile areas. In this study, peanuts (Arachis hypogaea) and ryegrass (Lolium perenne) were cultivated in photovoltaic array in the dry–hot valley of southwest China, with an off-site native land serving as the control. Sixteen soil physicochemical and biochemical parameters were measured in the gap and under-panel and control area. Results demonstrated that the agrivoltaic system significantly enhanced soil moisture, organic carbon, nitrogen–phosphorus–potassium nutrients, microbial biomass, and urease activity. It also led to varying degrees of increase in soil pH and electrical conductivity, along with reduced soil sucrase and phosphatase activity. In comparison to the control, the agrivoltaic system notably improved soil quality and multifunctionality. Specially, gap cultivation had a more pronounced positive impact on soil quality than under-panel cultivation, and the cultivation of peanuts had a greater effect on soil quality and multifunctionality improvement than ryegrass. This study provides fundamental data to support the improvement of land quality in photovoltaic developed regions, and to alleviate the conflict between photovoltaics and agricultural land. Sulfur-resistant Mo-based catalysts have become promising for the one-step synthesis of methanethiol (CH3SH) from CO/H2/H2S, but the low reactant conversion and poor product selectivity have constrained its development. Herein, we synthesized K-MoS2/Al2O3 and K-Mo2C/Al2O3 catalysts via the sulfurization and carbonization of K-Mo-based catalysts in the oxidized state, respectively. During the synthesis of CH3SH, both K-Mo2C/Al2O3 and K-MoS2/Al2O3 showed excellent catalytic performance, and the activity of the former is superior to that of the latter. The effect of different treatments on the catalytic performance of Mo-based catalysts was investigated by XRD, BET, Raman spectroscopy, H2-TPR, and reactants-TPD characterization. The results showed that the sulfide-treated sample showed stronger metal-support interactions and contributed to the formation of K2S, which exposed more active sites and stabilized the formation of C-S bonds. Carbonized samples enhanced the activation of H2, which promoted the hydrogenation of the intermediate species of carbonyl sulfide (COS) and thus improved the selectivity of CH3SH. Depressive disorder (DD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), two prominent mental health conditions, are commonly diagnosed using subjective methods such as scales and interviews. Previous research indicated that machine learning (ML) can enhance our understanding of their underlying mechanisms. This study seeks to investigate the mechanisms of DD, GAD, and healthy controls (HC) while constructing a diagnostic framework for triple classifications. Specifically, the experiment involved collecting electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from 42 DD patients, 45 GAD patients, and 38 HC adults. The Phase Lag Index (PLI) was employed to quantify brain functional connectivity and analyze differences in functional connectivity among three groups. This study also explored the impact of time window feature computations on classification performance, including the XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM, and ensemble models. In order to enhance classification performance, a feature optimization algorithm based on Autogluon-Tabular was proposed. The results indicate that a 12 s time window provides optimal classification performance for the three groups, achieving the highest accuracy of 97.33% with the ensemble model. The analysis further reveals a significant reorganization of the brain, with the most pronounced changes observed in the frontal lobe and beta rhythm. These findings support the hypothesis of abnormal brain functional connectivity in DD and GAD, contributing valuable insights into the neural mechanisms underlying DD and GAD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Long-term plant residue retention can effectively replenish soil quality and fertility. In this study, we collected rhizosphere soil from the residual roots of annual Cenchrus fungigraminus in the Ulan Buh Desert over the past 10 years. The area, depth, and length of these roots decreased over time. The cellulose content of the residual roots was significantly higher in the later 5 years (2018–2022) than the former 5 years (2013–2017), reaching its highest value in 2021. The lignin content of the residual roots did not differ across samples except in 2015 and reached its highest level in 2021. The total sugar of the residual roots in 2022 was 227.88 ± 30.69 mg·g−1, which was significantly higher than that in other years. Compared to the original sandy soil, the soil organic matter and soil microbial biomass carbon (SMBC) contents were 2.17–2.41 times and 31.52–35.58% higher in the later 3 years (2020–2022) and reached the highest values in 2020. The residual roots also significantly enhanced the soil carbon stocks from 2018–2022. Soil dehydrogenase, nitrogenase, and N-acetyl-β-D-glucosidase (S-NAG) were significantly affected from 2019–2022. The rhizosphere soil community richness and diversity of the bacterial and fungal communities significantly decreased with the duration of the residual roots in the sandy soil, and there was a significant difference for 10 years. Streptomyces, Bacillus, and Sphigomonas were the representative bacteria in the residual root rhizosphere soil, while Agaricales and Panaeolus were the enriched fungal genera. The distance-based redundancy analysis and partial least square path model results showed that the duration of residual roots in the sandy soil, S-NAG, and SMBC were the primary environmental characteristics that shaped the microbial community. Laser remote sensing of earthquake waves has the potential to be used in many applications. This article shows a Doppler model for laser remote sensing of seismic waves based on a wavefront sensor. The longitudinal vibration wave is analyzed using remote sensing, guided by theoretical principles. To determine the magnitude of ground vibration, we employ the method of wavefront phase change analysis, utilizing a continuous laser emitting light with a wavelength of 635 nm to illuminate the ground target. The ground vibration amplitude within the range of 0.12–1.18 mm was examined, confirming the reasonableness of the Doppler model. Simultaneously, the experimental findings indicate that the system exhibits a certain enhancement in detection accuracy compared to the conventional laser remote sensing detection technique. This approach can detect vibration signals at a sub-millimeter scale level, with an accuracy of 1% to 2%. The approach can fulfill the requirements for detecting seismic waves with low frequencies. This paper addresses a novel multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem with flexible resource profiles (F-MSRCPSP), in which the resource allocation of each activity consists of a certain number of discrete resources and is allowed to be adjusted over its duration. The F-MSRCPSP aims, therefore, to determine the flexible resource profile of each activity to minimize the make-span and total cost simultaneously. Then, a hybrid multi-objective fruit fly optimization algorithm is proposed to handle the concerned problem. In the proposed algorithm, two flexible parallel and serial schedule generation schemes are introduced, aiming to schedule activities and adjust allocated resource combinations. Additionally, two heuristic strategies are proposed to effectively select suitable resource combinations for activities. Moreover, a series of operators has been developed, including the rejoining operator, empirical re-arrangement operator, and empirical re-selection operator. These operators aim to accelerate the convergence speed and enhance the exploration of the proposed algorithm. Finally, the orthogonal test is used to select the optimal parameter combination, and comparative experiments based on tests with different scales are conducted, along with a t-test. Mutations of the FBN1 gene lead to Marfan syndrome (MFS), which is an autosomal dominant connective tissue disorder featured by thoracic aortic aneurysm risk. There is currently no effective treatment for MFS. Here, we studied the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in the phenotypic transformation of human smooth muscle cells (SMCs) and whether a mitochondrial boosting strategy can be a potential treatment. We knocked down FBN1 in SMCs to create an MFS cell model and used rotenone to induce mitochondrial dysfunction. Furthermore, we incubated the shFBN1 SMCs with Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to assess whether restoring mitochondrial function can reverse the phenotypic transformation. The results showed that shFBN1 SMCs had decreased TFAM (mitochondrial transcription factor A), mtDNA levels and mitochondrial mass, lost their contractile capacity and had increased synthetic phenotype markers. Inhibiting the mitochondrial function of SMCs can decrease the expression of contractile markers and increase the expression of synthetic genes. Imposing mitochondrial stress causes a double-hit effect on the TFAM level, oxidative phosphorylation and phenotypic transformation of FBN1-knockdown SMCs while restoring mitochondrial metabolism with CoQ10 can rapidly reverse the synthetic phenotype. Phosphorus (P) stands as a pivotal macroelement in relation to the growth of plants. It plays a significant role in physiological processes, as components of biofilms and nucleotides, and in metabolic activities within plants. The deprivation of phosphorus detrimentally impacts the growth and developmental of plants. However, the rhizosphere's beneficial fungi and bacteria augment the efficacy of phosphorus uptake, participate in the molecular regulation of phosphorus, stimulate physiological alterations in plants, and facilitate signal transmission. In order to give readers a better understanding of the effects and positive roles of soil beneficial fungi and bacteria in regulating plant phosphorus acquisition and transport, this present review introduces the role and influence of rhizosphere microorganisms (fungi and bacteria) in assisting plant phosphorus absorption, and summarizes the key phosphorus transporters found in their interaction with plants. Using mixed microbial populations as composite microbial fertilizers has a positive effect on plants under phosphorus-deficiency conditions. It will be conducive to a better understanding of the mutualistic relationship between fungi, bacteria, and plants to provide a way to reduce the application of phosphorus fertilizers efficiently, and to provide a research background for the development of microbiological fertilizers. In this paper, we present a method to achieve exponential stability in a class of impulsive delayed neural networks containing parameter uncertainties, time-varying delays, and impulsive effect and reaction–diffusion terms. By using an integro-differential inequality with impulsive initial conditions and employing the M-matrix theory and the nonlinear measure approach, some new sufficient conditions ensuring the global exponential stability and global robust exponential stability of the considered system are derived. In particular, the results obtained are presented by simple algebraic inequalities, which are certainly more concise than the previous methods. Simple Summary: Alpine musk deer, red serow, and white-lipped deer coexist in the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains of Tibet. We aimed to understand the mechanisms of their coexistence by studying their dietary preferences using DNA barcoding. All of the species exhibited broad dietary ranges with distinct food preferences. Furthermore, our findings revealed genus-level dietary specializations and the mechanisms facilitating their coexistence. The results of this study provide valuable insights for the development and implementation of effective conservation strategies and management measures in the local area. Wild ungulates play crucial roles in maintaining the structure and function of local ecosystems. The alpine musk deer (Moschus chrysogaste), white-lipped deer (Przewalskium albirostris), and red serow (Capricornis rubidus) are widely distributed throughout the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains of Tibet. However, research on the mechanisms underlying their coexistence in the same habitat remains lacking. This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms underlying the coexistence of these species based on their dietary preferences through DNA barcoding using the fecal samples of these animals collected from the study area. These species consume a wide variety of food types. Alpine musk deer, white-lipped deer, and red serow consume plants belonging to 74 families and 114 genera, 62 families and 122 genera, and 63 families and 113 genera, respectively. Furthermore, significant differences were observed in the nutritional ecological niche among these species, primarily manifested in the differentiation of food types and selection of food at the genus level. Owing to differences in social behavior, body size, and habitat selection, these three species further expand their differentiation in resource selection, thereby making more efficient use of environmental resources. Glycidyl azide polymer energetic thermoplastic elastomer (GAP-ETPE) has become a research hotspot due to its excellent comprehensive performance. In this paper, metastable intermolecular energetic nanocomposites (MICs) were prepared by a simple and safe method, and the catalytic performance for decomposition of GAP-ETPE was studied. An X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that the MICs exhibited specific crystal formation, which proved that the MICs were successfully prepared. Morphology, surface area, and pore structure analysis showed that the Al/copper ferrite and Al/Fe2O3 MICs had a large specific surface area mesoporous structure. The Al/CuO MICs did not have a mesoporous structure or a large surface area. The structure of MICs led to their different performance for the GAP-ETPE decomposition catalysis. The increase in specific surface area is a benefit of the catalytic performance. Due to the easier formation of complexes, MICs containing Cu have better catalytic performance for GAP-ETPE decomposition than those containing Fe. The structure of a fabric is a highly complex assembly of fibres, which have order and regularity as well as disorder and randomness. The complexity of the structure poses challenges in defining its mechanical behaviour, particularly at low stress, which is typical to end uses. The coexistence of multiple deformations and the high degree of nonlinearity of the fabric due to fibre friction make its stress–strain relationship complicated. This article reviews the literature on friction related to the low-stress mechanics of fabrics, and it establishes its range and regularity to help with finding a unified reference model, in which although the physical meanings of fabric tensile, shear, and bending vary, they follow consistent mathematical regularities. So, invariably, their disorder and randomness needed in defining them can be obtained from fabric measurement data. It defines the scope and patterns of friction to facilitate the development of a unified reference model. It argues that although the physical interpretations of fabric tensile, shear, and bending characteristics may differ, they adhere to consistent mathematical regularities within this model, and hence extracting disorder and randomness from fabric measurement data may be achievable. This paper concludes with a number of recommendations, postulating that hysteresis caused by friction between fibres in a fabric is an important component of mechanical information, and it coexists with its purely elastic component, but it cannot be obtained directly by measurement. Seeking means to effectively decompose the friction hysteresis and pure elastic components contained in fabric mechanics measurement data will provide an accurate characterization of fabric mechanical properties and hence an accurate modelling and simulation of its behaviour, and will impact many traditional and industrial textile end uses. Traffic flow prediction is one of the challenges in the development of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Accurate traffic flow prediction helps to alleviate urban traffic congestion and improve urban traffic efficiency, which is crucial for promoting the synergistic development of smart transportation and smart cities. With the development of deep learning, many deep neural networks have been proposed to address this problem. However, due to the complexity of traffic maps and external factors, such as sports events, these models cannot perform well in long-term prediction. In order to enhance the accuracy and robustness of the model on long-term time series prediction, a Graph Attention Informer (GAT-Informer) structure is proposed by combining the graph attention layer and informer layer to capture the intrinsic features and external factors in spatial–temporal correlation. The external factors are represented as sports events impact factors. The GAT-Informer model was tested on real-world data collected in London, and the experimental results showed that our model has better performance in long-term traffic flow prediction compared to other baseline models. This research cloned and expressed the sugar transporter gene KM_SUT5 from Kluyveromyces marxianus GX-UN120, which displayed remarkable sugar transportation capabilities, including pentose sugars. To investigate the impact of point mutations on xylose transport capacity, we selected four sites, predicted the suitable amino acid sites by molecular docking, and altered their codons to construct the corresponding mutants, Q74D, Y195K, S460H, and Q464F, respectively. Furthermore, we conducted site-directed truncation on six sites of KM_SUT5p. The molecular modification resulted in significant changes in mutant growth and the D-xylose transport rate. Specifically, the S460H mutant exhibited a higher growth rate and demonstrated excellent performance across 20 g L−1 xylose, achieving the highest xylose accumulation under xylose conditions (49.94 μmol h−1 gDCW-1, DCW mean dry cell weight). Notably, mutant delA554-, in which the transporter protein SUT5 is truncated at position delA554-, significantly increased growth rates in both D-xylose and D-glucose substrates. These findings offer valuable insights into potential modifications of other sugar transporters and contribute to a deeper understanding of the C-terminal function of sugar transporters. Apostasia fujianica belongs to the genus Apostasia and is part of the basal lineage in the phylogenetic tree of the Orchidaceae. Currently, there are only ten reported complete mitochondrial genomes in orchids, which greatly hinders the understanding of mitochondrial evolution in Orchidaceae. Therefore, we assembled and annotated the mitochondrial genome of A. fujianica, which has a length of 573,612 bp and a GC content of 44.5%. We annotated a total of 44 genes, including 30 protein-coding genes, 12 tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes. We also performed relative synonymous codon usage (RSCU) analysis, repeat sequence analysis, intergenomic transfer (IGT) analysis, and Ka/Ks analysis for A. fujianica and conducted RNA editing site analysis on the mitochondrial genomes of eight orchid species. We found that most protein-coding genes are under purifying selection, but nad6 is under positive selection, with a Ka/Ks value of 1.35. During the IGT event in A. fujianica's mitogenome, the trnN-GUU, trnD-GUC, trnW-CCA, trnP-UGG, and psaJ genes were identified as having transferred from the plastid to the mitochondrion. Compared to other monocots, the family Orchidaceae appears to have lost the rpl10, rpl14, sdh3, and sdh4 genes. Additionally, to further elucidate the evolutionary relationships among monocots, we constructed a phylogenetic tree based on the complete mitogenomes of monocots. Our study results provide valuable data on the mitogenome of A. fujianica and lay the groundwork for future research on genetic variation, evolutionary relationships, and breeding of Orchidaceae. As a Pt-group element, Pd has been regarded as one of the alternatives to Pt-based catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we performed density functional theory (DFT) computations to explore the most stable structures of PdxBy (x = 6, 19, 44), revealed the in situ structural reconstruction of these clusters under acidic conditions, and evaluated their HER activity. We found that the presence of B can prevent underpotential hydrogen adsorption and activate the H atoms on the cluster surface for the HER. The theoretical calculations show that the reaction barrier for the HER on ~1 nm sized Pd44B4 can be as low as 0.36 eV, which is even lower than for the same-sized Pt and Pd2B nanoparticles. The ultra-high HER activity of sub-nanosized PdxBy clusters makes them a potential new and efficient HER electro-catalyst. Agrocybe cylindracea dietary fiber (ADF) contains 95% water-insoluble dietary fiber, resulting in poor application performance. To address this issue, ADF was modified by four methods (cellulase, sodium hydroxide, high-temperature, and Lactobacillus fermentation) in this paper. By comparing the physicochemical properties, microstructures, monosaccharide compositions, and functional characteristics (antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities in vitro) of all modified ADF samples, the optimal modification method was selected. Results showed that sodium hydroxide treatment was deemed the most effective modification method for ADF, as alkali-treated ADF (ADF-A) revealed a higher oil-holding capacity (2.02 g/g), swelling capacity (8.38 mL/g), cholesterol adsorption (6.79 mg/g), and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity (more than 70% at 0.4–0.6 mg/mL) than the other modified samples. The looser microstructure in ADF-A might be attributed to molecular rearrangement and spatial structure disruption, which resulted in smaller molecular sizes and decreased viscosity, hence improving ADF's physicochemical and functional qualities. All these findings indicate the greater application potential of modified ADF products in food and weight-loss industries, providing a comprehensive reference for the industrial application of ADF.
