A persistent problem in teaching introductory statistics has been helping students overcome their fears and the abstract nature of what they need to learn. Students' own contextualised stories are argued to present an opportunity for humanising the abstract, helping reduce student fears to complement traditional teaching approaches. This paper applies Bruner (Actual minds, possible worlds, Harvard University Press, 1986) theoretical perspectives on narrative mode of thought to understand how students' own contextualised stories might support them in making sense of university introductory statistics. An exploratory, design research study was undertaken where 31 student participants were interviewed across a two-year period. All participants had completed an introductory statistics course where they wrote contextualised children's stories about normal distributions and sampling distributions of the mean. Using an assumption-based, conjecture-driven, reflective analysis, participant interview data was analysed to generate preliminary research findings. Two preliminary findings are detailed in this paper. One revealed that participants initially don't seem to naturally make connections with statistics using their own stories, while another showed that once they did so, their stories helped initiate pathways of access for making sense of their statistical learning. To test the preliminary findings, Bruner (Actual minds, possible worlds, Harvard University Press, 1986) theoretical perspectives on narrative mode of thought—presupposition, subjectification, and multiple perspectives—were used to develop an analytical tool. The methodology in the study provides new insights for understanding how students' own contextualised stories might help them make sense of their learning. In this paper, we aim to improve existing health recommender systems by defining relevant contextual and motivational variables to recommend physical activities and collect appreciation feedback. Current health recommenders do not sufficiently include users' context and motivational theory when personalizing health suggestions. To bridge these gaps, we conducted a 21-day longitudinal user study with 36 participants using our Android app with collected sensor data and Ecological Momentary Assessments to collect daily activities, mood, and motivation. This study resulted in a dataset of 724 activities. Two approaches to determine feature relevance were followed: variable importances analysis on 40 input variables, and statistical analysis of mean differences in outcome variables across contexts. Our findings suggest recommending activity duration, intensity, location, and type by incorporating: company, situation (e.g., free time or work), happiness, calmness, energy level, physical complaints, and motivation. As such, we propose opportunities for future health recommenders to integrate these data with contextual pre-filtering techniques, extended with our suggestions for automatically collected weather, location types, step count, and time. The significance of ethics in data science research has attracted considerable attention in recent years. While there is widespread agreement on the importance of teaching ethics within computing contexts, there is no clear method for its implementation and assessment. Studies focusing on methods for integrating ethics into data science courses reveal that students tend to neglect ethical concerns in their data analysis. Based on the data we collected from questionnaires distributed to undergraduate science and engineering students, this paper expands the discussion beyond human concerns and ethics in data science education. As we will show, students tend to neglect the context when attempting to solve data science questions. We argue that gaps in understanding the context relating to the data result in gaps in the analysis as well as in the interpretation of the data. Thus, we propose anthropological thinking as a pedagogy to overcome the context neglect. Placing the spotlight on the context promotes a holistic understanding of the phenomenon being analyzed, as it includes important considerations that do not necessarily fit the more commonly used term human concerns. Recent technological advancements have led to a significant increase in the quantity and accessibility of videos. The decrease in video acquisition costs and the increase in memory capacity have made it possible to store large video collections in computer systems. To effectively exploit these collections, it is crucial to have tools that facilitate access and management. In this paper, we present a multimedia retrieval approach that prioritizes the user's needs by starting with a text-based query. The approach consists of two main parts: (i) a new multi-level and deep-semantic video classification indexing method, and (ii) a query expansion mechanism and relevance feedback system to improve the results based on the user's feedback. Our contribution is demonstrated through the implementation of the Deep-VISEN prototype and experiments on a collection of 2700 videos and 62838 images. Contextualisation research in entrepreneurship is on the rise. Scholars generally view it positively, as contextualisation allows for a better understanding of the bigger picture, whilst also concerns are voiced. However, contextualisation may lead to an overly fragmented field and its possible disintegration. This calls for 'the emergence of sensible approaches to contextualisation that provide guidance in balancing its benefits and costs' as reported by Welter et al. (Small Business Economics 52(2):319–330, 2019) which is the challenge we address in this Special Issue. More specifically, we argue that an investigation of the construction and enactment of contexts provides a path to better understand the identified tension. The aim of this Special Issue ties in with increasing calls in the entrepreneurship literature for going beyond agent centric views towards accounts that theorise the interconnections between agency and structure. Taken together, the articles in this special issue contribute to (1) a stronger grounding for entrepreneurship theories and concepts; (2) a more balanced conceptualisation of both agency and context; (3) a shift from the 'standard model' of entrepreneurship; and (4) context sensitive entrepreneurship methodologies and approaches. Much work on intellectual humility has focused on its epistemic benefits. We suggest that displaying (or failing to display) intellectual humility also has effects on how others perceive us and that, as a result, intellectual humility can serve reputation management purposes, in at least four ways: (i) Intellectual humility can be used to signal we are a good source of information; (ii) Intellectual humility can be used to signal we are competent through countersignaling; (iii) Intellectual humility can be used to make sure others do not believe we are overclaiming superiority; (iv) lack of intellectual humility (or intellectual arrogance) can be used to signal dominance. The evidence suggests that intellectual humility (or lack thereof) can have each of these effects. Seeing intellectual humility as (inter alia) a reputation management tool predicts that people will be more or less likely to display intellectual humility in some contexts. For instance, people in a position of power might stand to lose less if they fail to be intellectual humble; accordingly, evidence suggests that they tend to display less intellectual humility. In conclusion, we speculate that understanding intellectual humility as reputation management could help construct environments more conducive to displays of intellectual humility. Positive Youth Development (PYD) has received increasing attention among researchers worldwide and has played an important role in the creation of youth development strategies and policies across many countries. However, previous research in the field of PYD has suggested that separate studies should be conducted for each different context (especially culture). As a result, the need to determine the positive development indicators of young people in their own context has emerged. There is currently a lack of scientific research focused on developing adapting the PYD model specifically to the context of Türkiye. This study aims to test a PYD model applied to Turkish contexts by benefiting from the insights of experts working in the field of youth development. Using the Delphi Method, we determined the indicators/attributes in two consecutive stages with a panel of youth development experts (Stage 1: n = 715 and Stage 2: n = 334). In the first Delphi phase, we collected the responses of the participants (3,724 meaningful words, phrases, or sentences) with an open-ended question. In the second Delphi phase, we presented the 17 indicators/attributes we created through the data to the approval of the participants using a 5-point Likert scale. In the second phase, participants reached consensus on all 17 indicators/attributes (over 80% for 5 features and over 90% for 12 features). 56.2% of the participants chose morality, 40.4% the desire to learn, 30.8% responsibility, and 30.2% honesty as the most important indicators. All but two of the 17 indicators in the model (respect and awareness/consciousness) overlapped with one indicator of at least one of the current models in the literature. The findings showed that when determining developmental indicators/attributes for the PYD in Türkiye, the contexts in which young people live (especially culture) should be taken into account. In addition, the findings suggest that trying to adapt only one of the models developed in different contexts directly to young people in other contexts may cause other indicators that are seen as important and needed in their own contexts to be overlooked. In the process of software development, the ability to localize faults is crucial for improving the efficiency of debugging. Generally speaking, detecting and repairing errant behavior at an early stage of the development cycle considerably reduces costs and development time. Researchers have tried to utilize various methods to locate the faulty codes. However, failing test cases usually account for a small portion of the test suite, which inevitably leads to the class-imbalance phenomenon and hampers the effectiveness of fault localization. Accordingly, in this work, we propose a new fault localization approach named ContextAug. After obtaining dynamic execution through test cases, ContextAug traces these executions to build an information model; subsequently, it constructs a failure context with propagation dependencies to intersect with new model-domain failing test samples synthesized by the minimum variability of the minority feature space. In contrast to traditional test generation directly from the input domain, ContextAug seeks a new perspective to synthesize failing test samples from the model domain, which is much easier to augment test suites. Through conducting empirical research on real large-sized programs with 13 state-of-the-art fault localization approaches, ContextAug could significantly improve fault localization effectiveness with up to 54.53%. Environments have a modifying effect on the participation of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in all areas of life. This cross-sectional study investigated parental perspectives on supportive or hindering environments and the daily contextual strategies parents used to enhance their children's participation. Qualitative and quantitative data gathered from 115 parents from German-speaking Switzerland using the participation and environment measure-child and youth (PEM-CY) were analyzed. Results revealed 45 environmental supports and barriers at home, at school, and in the community. Contextual strategies were identified in combination with people, activities, time, objects, and places. Parental perspectives on participation and their contextual strategies should be considered in environmental-based interventions to support the participation of children and adolescents with ASD. This study analyses how women entrepreneurs of Turkish origin do context in constructing their entrepreneurial identities and experiencing their entrepreneurship in two national contexts, namely Türkiye and the Netherlands. In order to study context, we use the term opportunity structures and analyse how these entrepreneurs interpret and perceive opportunity structures, and construct their entrepreneurial identities in relation to their interpretations. Relying on the life story narratives of 21 women entrepreneurs, we analyse social, political and institutional opportunity structures and the relationship between these and the processes of entrepreneurial experiences and identity construction. We propose that Turkish women entrepreneurs make, unmake and remake context during these processes. In the Netherlands, these entrepreneurs challenge existing opportunity structures either by providing alternative images of a Turkish migrant woman or questioning culturalist perspectives behind these opportunity structures. In Türkiye, they are compelled to be more hesitant in challenging the opportunity structures. They either have to step down from their enterprises or downgrade their entrepreneurial affiliations to fulfil the requirements of opportunity structures. This study contributes to the field of entrepreneurship in its contextualisation by providing an extended understanding of the ways in which entrepreneurs do context. Plain English Summary: While there is criticism on the lack of contextual analysis of entrepreneurship, there are also concerns about over-contextualisation and disintegration in the field. As a response to the scholar's interest to categorise successful entrepreneurs in creating and enacting their contexts and to understand how and why they became successful compared to others, this study demonstrates the power relations between and across opportunity structures that lead to imbalances between entrepreneurial agency and context. It shows how some entrepreneurs make context, while some others can also unmake and remake context. In this way, it extends our understanding of entrepreneurial diversity, and questions whether categorising entrepreneurs as successful or not is doing justice to the entrepreneurs who face more powerful opportunity structures with possible sanctions imposed on them. Future studies can further this discussion on entrepreneurial diversity by analysing how and for which contexts power dynamics plays out differently in the nexus of entrepreneur and context. Professional attire has traditionally been regarded as a sign of ethicality. However, recent trends towards a more casual workplace may have altered the general public's attire-based perceptions. To determine whether these trends have rendered the association between professional attire and ethicality obsolete, we draw on signaling theory and we examine, in two laboratory studies with working samples, the main effects of attire style (i.e., business formal, business casual, casual) on perceptions of employee ethicality. We also assess the mediating effects of attire appropriateness, the moderating effects of context (industry type), as well as their combined moderated-mediation effects in the relation between attire style and the outcome of interest. We find that casual attire is perceived as less ethical than business casual attire in both studies but is perceived as less ethical than business formal attire in the first study only. Moreover, the effect of attire style on perceptions of ethicality is mediated by perceptions of attire appropriateness. Lastly, we found inconclusive results for the moderated-mediation model, which suggest a more intricate effect of industry type than originally proposed. Three subsequent focus groups with working professionals provided additional insights into our findings and revealed workplace-relevant outcomes associated with perceptions of ethicality.
