n‐propanol is an important pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediate. To produce n‐propanol by electrochemical reduction of CO2 is a promising way, but is largely restricted by the very low selectivity and activity. How to promote the coupling of *C1 and *C2 intermediates to form the *C3 intermediate for n‐propanol formation is challenging. Here, we propose the construction of bicontinuous structure of Cu2O/Cu electrocatalyst, which consists of ultra‐small Cu2O nanodomains, Cu nanodomains and large amounts of grain boundaries between Cu2O and Cu nanodomains. The n‐propanol current density is as high as 101.6 mA cm−2 at the applied potential of −1.1 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode in flow cell, with the Faradaic efficiency up to 12.1 %. Moreover, the catalyst keeps relatively stable during electrochemical CO2 reduction process. Experimental studies and theoretical calculations reveal that the bicontinuous structure of Cu2O/Cu can facilitate the *CO formation, *CO‐*CO coupling and *CO‐*OCCO coupling for the final generation of n‐propanol. Cesium lead iodide (CsPbI3) exhibits great potential in developing photovoltaic cells due to suitable optical bandgap and thermal stability. However, the photoactive γ‐phase normally exists at high‐temperatures ≈180 °C, and it is challenging to obtain γ‐phase CsPbI3 at room temperature. Here, it discovers that γ‐phase CsPbI3 is achievable by reducing the underlayer surface roughness to a certain level. This method is universal as demonstrated on the surface of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), poly[bis(4‐phenyl)(2,4,6‐trimethylphenyl)amine] (PTAA), polystyrene (PS), and silicon substrates. Moreover, it is found that lower surface roughness resulted in smaller crystallite size in the CsPbI3 film, which is an important reason for achieving γ‐phase because the decrease in crystallite size will increase grain surface energy to suppress tilting of PbI6 octahedra and lattice distortion. The high energy density and cost‐effectiveness of chloride‐ion batteries (CIBs) make them promising alternatives to lithium‐ion batteries. However, the development of CIBs is greatly restricted by the lack of compatible electrolytes to support cost‐effective anodes. Herein, we present a rationally designed solid polycationic electrolyte (SPE) to enable room‐temperature chloride‐ion batteries utilizing aluminum (Al) metal as an anode. This SPE endows the CIB configuration with improved air stability and safety (i.e. free of flammability and liquid leakage). A high ionic conductivity (1.3×10−2 S cm−1 at 25 °C) has been achieved by the well‐tailored coordination structure of the SPE. Meanwhile, the solid polycationic electrolyte ensures stable electrodes|electrolyte interfaces, which effectively inhibit the growth of dendrites on the Al anodes and degradation of the FeOCl cathodes. The Al|SPE|FeOCl chloride‐ion batteries showcased a high discharge capacity around 250 mAh g−1 (based on the cathodes) and extended lifespan. Summary: During arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis, plant innate immunity is modulated to a prime state to allow for fungal colonization. The underlying mechanisms remain to be further explored. In this study, two rice genes encoding LysM extracellular (LysMe) proteins were investigated.By obtaining OsLysMepro:GUS transgenic plants and generating oslysme1, oslysme2 and oslysme1oslysme2 mutants via CRISPR/Cas9 technique, OsLysMe genes were revealed to be specifically induced in the arbusculated cells and mutations in either gene caused significantly reduced root colonization rate by AM fungus Rhizophagus irregularis. Overexpression of OsLysMe1 or OsLysMe2 dramatically increased the colonization rates in rice and Medicago truncatula.The electrophoretic mobility shift assay and dual‐luciferase reporter assay supported that OsLysMe genes are regulated by OsWRI5a. Either OsLysMe1 or OsLysMe2 can efficiently rescue the impaired AM phenotype of the mtlysme2 mutant, supporting a conserved function of LysMe across monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants.The co‐localization of OsLysMe proteins with the apoplast marker SP‐OsRAmy3A implies their probable localization to the periarbuscular space (PAS) during symbiosis. Relative to the fungal biomass marker RiTEF, some defense‐related genes showed disproportionately high expression levels in the oslysme mutants. Summary: We present a phase‐field fracture model for a stress resultant geometrically exact shell in finite deformation regime where the configuration manifold evolves according to deformation and fracture. The Reissner–Mindlin shell problem is first solved via the finite element method, where the independent unknown fields are the displacement and director. The phase‐field ductile fracture model is then coupled with the verified geometrically exact shell by enriching the three‐field elasto‐plastic free energy with a regularized crack surface energy. To capture the geometrical nonlinearity due to the large plastic deformation exhibited in the processing zone, the corresponding finite‐strain stress resultant elasto‐plasticity model is coupled with the phase field model. This coupling between the stress resultant elasto‐plasticity model and the phase‐field fracture model enables us to predict the different amounts of energy dissipation attributed to plastic deformation and fracture and hence simulate the crack propagation in the ductile regime properly. We introduce a mixed finite element model with displacement, director, and phase‐field order parameters as the nodal degree of freedoms formulated on the mid‐surface. An energy‐based arc‐length method is generalized to track the equilibrium path and mitigate instabilities arising from material nonlinearity. Four numerical examples are presented to validate the implementation of the model and demonstrate its capability to simulate ductile fracture in shell structures. These examples include a plane‐stress tension/shear fracture model, the Muscat‐Fenech and Atkins plate, axial tension of a notched cylindrical shell, and ductile fracture of a simply supported plate under uniform pressure. Degraded LiCoO2 cathode from retired Li‐ion batteries is urgently required to be recycled in a greener way for economic and environmental considerations. The coarse metallurgy technologies for Li/Co extraction with massive CO2 emission and energy consumption cannot satisfy the requirements of carbon neutralization. Herein, it is proposed that direct regeneration of degraded LiCoO2 cathode could be realized via 9‐fluorenone‐mediated Li supplementation and follow‐up structural restoration. The 9‐fluorenone‐lithium reagent is elaborately selected to compensate for the missing Li+ into lattice with targeted stoichiometry owing to its compatible redox potential of 1.95 V versus Li+/Li, which is located just between the reversible intercalation (3.8 V) and irreversible conversion (1.2 V) potentials of LiCoO2 electrode. Then, thermal energy‐driven structure reorganization enables Li/Co atoms to occupy the right sites, accomplishing desirable structure healing within a short annealing time of 4 h. The regenerated LiCoO2 cathode exhibits comparable Li‐storage capability to commercial LiCoO2, benefiting from the non‐destructive direct regeneration technology. In addition, the regeneration route is regarded as environmentally (0.13 kg CO2 kg−1 cell) and economically (10.07 $ kg−1 cell) superior to conventional recycling routes based on life‐cycle analysis. The achievement of high performance in organic solar cells (OSCs) is highly dependent on efficient exciton dissociation. However, a comprehensive understanding of the exciton dissociation process under photoexcitation in OSCs remains elusive. Herein, a prototypical system of PM6:Y6 is adopted to explore the exciton dissociation process. An organic semiconductor PCz with distinctive photoexcitation signals from PM6 and Y6 is incorporated as the third component. Femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy demonstrates clear cascade charge transfer processes in ternary PM6:PCz:Y6 system. These cascade channels contribute to enhancing the efficiency of exciton dissociation. Consequently, the nonradiative recombination energy loss is reduced, resulting in an improved power conversion efficiency (PCE) of OSCs. Furthermore, the reduction of energy loss is verified in different OSCs. When PCz is introduced into the D18:L8‐BO system, a low nonradiative recombination energy loss of 0.175 eV is demonstrated, contributing a PCE of over 19%. Risky‐prescribing is the excessive or inappropriate prescription of drugs that singly or in combination pose significant risks of adverse health outcomes. In the United States, prescribing of opioids and other “risky” drugs is a national public health concern. We use a novel data framework—a directed network connecting physicians who encounter the same patients in a sequence of visits—to investigate if risky‐prescribing diffuses across physicians through a process of peer‐influence. Using a shared‐patient network of 10 661 Ohio‐based physicians constructed from Medicare claims data over 2014‐2015, we extract information on the order in which patients encountered physicians to derive a directed patient‐sharing network. This enables the novel decomposition of peer‐effects of a medical practice such as risky‐prescribing into directional (outbound and inbound) and bidirectional (mutual) relationship components. Using this framework, we develop models of peer‐effects for contagion in risky‐prescribing behavior as well as spillover effects. The latter is measured in terms of adverse health events suspected to be related to risky‐prescribing in patients of peer‐physicians. Estimated peer‐effects were strongest when the patient‐sharing relationship was mutual as opposed to directional. Using simulations we confirmed that our modeling and estimation strategies allows simultaneous estimation of each type of peer‐effect (mutual and directional) with accuracy and precision. We also show that failing to account for these distinct mechanisms (a form of model mis‐specification) produces misleading results, demonstrating the importance of retaining directional information in the construction of physician shared‐patient networks. Background Methods Results Conclusions While coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) is no longer a public health emergency, certain patients remain at risk of severe outcomes. To better understand changing risk profiles, we studied the risk factors for patients with and without solid organ transplantation (SOT) through the various waves of the pandemic.Using the National COVID Cohort Collaborative we studied a cohort of adult patients testing positive for COVID‐19 between January 1, 2020, and May 2, 2022. We separated the data into waves of COVID‐19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control. In our primary outcome, we used multivariable survival analysis to look at various risk factors for hospitalization in those with and without SOT.A total of 3,570,032 patients were captured. We found an overall risk attenuation of adverse COVID‐19‐associated outcomes over time. In both non‐SOT and SOT populations, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and congestive heart failure were risk factors for hospitalization. For SOT specifically, longer time periods between transplant and COVID‐19 were protective and age was a risk factor. Notably, asthma was not a risk factor for major adverse renal cardiovascular events, hospitalization, or mortality in either group.Our study provides a longitudinal view of the risks associated with adverse COVID‐related outcomes amongst SOT and non‐SOT patients, and how these risk factors evolved over time. White matter hyperintensity (WMH) represents a critical global medical concern linked to cognitive decline and dementia, yet its underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, humans are directly demonstrated that high WMH burden correlates with delayed drainage of meningeal lymphatic vessels (mLVs) and glymphatic pathway. Additionally, a longitudinal cohort study reveals that glymphatic dysfunction predicts WMH progression. Next, in a rat model of WMH, the presence of impaired lymphangiogenesis and glymphatic drainage is confirmed, followed by elevated microglial activation and white matter demyelination. Notably, enhancing meningeal lymphangiogenesis through adeno‐associated virus delivery of vascular endothelial growth factor‐C (VEGF‐C) mitigates microglial gliosis and white matter demyelination. Conversely, blocking the growth of mLVs with a VEGF‐C trap strategy exacerbates these changes. The findings highlight the role of mLVs and glymphatic pathway dysfunction in aggravating brain white matter injury, providing a potential novel strategy for WMH prevention and treatment. Integrating multiple single‐cell datasets is essential for the comprehensive understanding of cell heterogeneity. Batch effect is the undesired systematic variations among technologies or experimental laboratories that distort biological signals and hinder the integration of single‐cell datasets. However, existing methods typically rely on a selected dataset as a reference, leading to inconsistent integration performance using different references, or embed cells into uninterpretable low‐dimensional feature space. To overcome these limitations, a reference‐free method, Beaconet, for integrating multiple single‐cell transcriptomic datasets in original molecular space by aligning the global distribution of each batch using an adversarial correction network is presented. Through extensive comparisons with 13 state‐of‐the‐art methods, it is demonstrated that Beaconet can effectively remove batch effect while preserving biological variations and is superior to existing unsupervised methods using all possible references in overall performance. Furthermore, Beaconet performs integration in the original molecular feature space, enabling the characterization of cell types and downstream differential expression analysis directly using integrated data with gene‐expression features. Additionally, when applying to large‐scale atlas data integration, Beaconet shows notable advantages in both time‐ and space‐efficiencies. In summary, Beaconet serves as an effective and efficient batch effect removal tool that can facilitate the integration of single‐cell datasets in a reference‐free and molecular feature‐preserved mode. Traditional anti‐counterfeiting luminescent phosphors are usually composed of single‐mode photoluminescence materials, which greatly limits the security of encryption by its static fluorescent pattern. Herein, multi‐mode luminescence properties are achieved including fluorescence and persistent luminescence (PersL) within single host by co‐doping Bi3+ and Eu3+ in CaNaSb2O6F (CNSOF). A tunable emission is observed from blue (Bi3+, 3P1→1S0) to white and then to orange‐yellow (Eu3+, 5D1→7F2 and 5D0→7F0, 1, 2, 3, 4) as the excitation schemes, environment temperatures and doping level are modulated. Impressively, the blue emission attributed to the Bi3+ rapidly disappears after stopping the excitation light irradiation, and only the intense orange‐yellow PersL produced by Eu3+ can be observed. And a possible model for the energy transfer and PersL mechanism is proposed by the investigation crystal structure and photoluminescence/PersL. A schematic of security logo and digital information encryption is demonstrated using the prepared samples, which shows the dynamic evolution of the emission color and PersL brightness. The excellent property of multiple color outputs, different decay processes, and external field stimulation modes (including low energy light, thermal, and mechanical stimuli) present in CNSOF:Bi3+, Eu3+ provides a fast, low‐cost, and effective method for advanced anti‐counterfeiting and information encryption applications. Diamond‐like (DL) metal chalcogenides have attracted significant attention in recent years because of their complex structural compositions and exceptional nonlinear optical (NLO) capabilities in the infrared (IR) range. Despite notable advancements in this field, there is still a lack of systematic research on high‐performance and simply composed IR‐NLO chalcogenides with DL structures. In this study, the insightful structural characteristics and IR‐NLO properties of a ternary Ag‐based chalcogenide Ag2GeS3 are investigated for the first time at both experimental and theoretical levels. The compound belongs to the non‐centrosymmetric Cmc21 space group (No.36) and displays a 3D DL structure comprising highly oriented [AgS4] and [GeS4] tetrahedra. Due to its distinct structure, the compound may produce significant second harmonic generation (SHG) response (5.6 × AgGaS2 at 2050 nm), the biggest value reported among Ag‐based IR‐NLO chalcogenides to date, and phase matchability in the IR range with a calculated birefringence of Δn = 0.09 at 2050 nm. According to theoretical calculations, the combined impacts of the distorted [AgS4] and [GeS4] NLO‐active motifs inside the 3D DL framework provide the SHG tensor d24 of Ag2GeS3 at 51.9 pm V−1 at 2050 nm. Engineering low‐cost electrocatalysts with desired features is vital to decrease the energy consumption but challenging for superior water splitting. Herein, we development a facile strategy by the addition of multivalence ruthenium (Ru) into the CoWO4/CC system. During the synthesis process, the most of Ru3+ ions were insinuated into the lattice of CoWO4, while the residual Ru3+ ions were reduced to metallic Ru and further attached to the interface between carbon cloth and CoWO4 sheets. The optimal Ru2(M)−CoWO4/CC exhibited superior performance for the HER with an overpotential of 85 mV@10 mA cm−2, which was much better than most of reported electrocatalysts, regarding OER, a low overpotential of 240 mV@10 mA cm−2 was sufficient. In comparison to Ru2(0)−CoWO4/CC with the same Ru mass loading, multivalence Ru2(M)−CoWO4/CC required a lower overpotential for OER and HER, respectively. The Ru2(M)−CoWO4/CC couple showed excellent overall water splitting performance at a cell voltage of 1.48 V@10 mA cm−2 for used as both anodic and cathodic electrocatalysts. Results of the study showed that the electrocatalytic activity of Ru2(M)−CoWO4/CC was attributed to the in‐situ transformation of Ru/Co sites, the multivalent Ru ions and the synergistic effect of different metal species stimulated the intrinsic activity of CoWO4/CC. Highly reliable mechanical systems can lead to significant losses in the event of failure, and the lack of comprehensive failure data presents challenges for developing techniques such as critical part identification and failure prediction. In light of this, this paper proposes a meta‐action‐based fault prediction method that effectively addresses the issue of limited fault data. Initially, the mechanical system is decomposed utilizing the "Function‐Motion‐Action" (FMA) methodology to derive individual meta‐action units (MAUs). Subsequently, the limited sample of fault data from the mechanical system is combined with processed expert knowledge to construct the corresponding fault propagation‐directed graph. Furthermore, the key MAUs are determined by applying the Decision–Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method. Last, the degradation data of the key MAUs is acquired by monitoring them, and a non‐homogeneous discrete grey model (DNGM) integrated with an improved BP neural network is proposed to facilitate the fault prediction of MAUs. Using an industrial robot as a case study, the prediction results demonstrate the superiority of the method proposed in this paper over a single gray model and neural network, thereby providing a reliable prediction approach for anticipating the future trends of data‐deficient mechanical systems. The photoreceptor cilium is vital for maintaining the structure and function of the retina. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the photoreceptor cilium integrity and retinal homeostasis are largely unknown. Herein, it is shown that kinesin family member 11 (KIF11) localizes at the transition zone (connecting cilium) of the photoreceptor and plays a crucial role in orchestrating the cilium integrity. KIF11 depletion causes malformations of both the photoreceptor ciliary axoneme and membranous discs, resulting in photoreceptor degeneration and the accumulation of drusen‐like deposits throughout the retina. Mechanistic studies show that the stability of KIF11 is regulated by an interplay between its UFMylation and ubiquitination; UFMylation of KIF11 at lysine 953 inhibits its ubiquitination by synoviolin 1 and thereby prevents its proteasomal degradation. The lysine 953‐to‐arginine mutant of KIF11 is more stable than wild‐type KIF11 and also more effective in reversing the ciliary and retinal defects induced by KIF11 depletion. High‐entropy oxides (HEOs) have garnered significant attention within the realm of rechargeable batteries owing to their distinctive advantages, which encompass diverse structural attributes, customizable compositions, entropy‐driven stabilization effects, and remarkable superionic conductivity. Despite the brilliance of HEOs in energy conversion and storage applications, there is still lacking a comprehensive review for both entry‐level and experienced researchers, which succinctly encapsulates the present status and the challenges inherent to HEOs, spanning structural features, intrinsic properties, prevalent synthetic methodologies, and diversified applications in rechargeable batteries. Within this review, the endeavor is to distill the structural characteristics, ionic conductivity, and entropy stabilization effects, explore the practical applications of HEOs in the realm of rechargeable batteries (lithium‐ion, sodium‐ion, and lithium‐sulfur batteries), including anode and cathode materials, electrolytes, and electrocatalysts. The review seeks to furnish an overview of the evolving landscape of HEOs‐based cell component materials, shedding light on the progress made and the hurdles encountered, as well as serving as the guidance for HEOs compositions design and optimization strategy to enhance the reversible structural stability, electrical properties, and electrochemical performance of rechargeable batteries in the realm of energy storage and conversion. Borates have garnered a lot of attention in the realm of solid‐state chemistry due to their remarkable characteristics, in which the synthesis of borates with isolated [BO3] by adding rare‐earth elements is one of the main areas of structural design study. Five new mixed‐metal Y‐based rare‐earth borates, Ba2ZnY2(BO3)4, KNa2Y(BO3)2, Li2CsY4(BO3)5, LiRb2Y(BO3)2, and RbCaY(BO3)2, have been discovered using the high‐temperature solution approach. Isolated [BO3] clusters arranged in various configurations comprise their entire anionic framework, allowing for optical anisotropy tuning between 0.024 and 0.081 under 1064 nm. In this study, we characterize the relative placements of their [BO3] groups and examine how their structure affects their characteristics. The origin of their considerable optical anisotropy has been proven theoretically. Adhesives can intimately connect humans to machines, seamlessly bond diverse tissues in the human body, and manage various diseases. However, the precise spatial control of wet and tough adhesion of biocompatible hydrogels on biological tissues remains a major challenge. Inspired by the bioglue secreted by sandcastle worms, the design of printable tough adhesives (PTAs) is proposed, a supramolecular hydrogel that can be printed into defined structures, in situ mechanically reinforced into a tough matrix with physiologically relevant benign triggers, and strongly adhere to diverse substrates. With carefully selected polymer components and ratios, it is discovered that the 3D printed PTAs can achieve a marked increase in toughness, tensile strength, and stiffness after being immersed in water/saline solution or attached to biological tissues. To assess the robust toughening mechanism triggered by the supramolecular interactions, the effects of polymer content and pH on the mechanical performance of PTAs and the kinetics of their triggered reinforcement are thoroughly investigated. The potential of PTAs is further demonstrated for manufacturing tough connective tissue mimetics, controlling patterned bioadhesion, and designing programmable 4D soft robotics. Introduction Methods Results Conclusion Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) has gained extensive application in the treatment of lymphoma and multiple myeloma (MM). Plenty of studies demonstrate that peripheral blood indicators could be considered potential predictive biomarkers for hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) collection efficiency, including white blood cell count (WBC), monocyte count (Mono), platelet count (PLT), hematocrit, and hemoglobin levels. Currently, clinically practical predictive models based on these peripheral detection indicators to quickly, conveniently, and accurately predict collection efficiency are lacking.In total, 139 patients with MM and lymphoma undergoing mobilization and collection of ASCT were retrospectively studied. The study endpoint was successful collection of autologous HSCs. We analyzed the effects of clinical characteristics and peripheral blood markers on collection success, and screened variables to establish a prediction model. We determined the optimal cutoff value of peripheral blood markers for predicting successful stem cell collection and the clinical value of a multi‐marker prediction approach. We also established a prediction model for collection efficacy.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that the mobilization regimen, Mono, PLT, mononuclear cell count (MNC), and peripheral blood CD34+ cell count (PB CD34+ counts) were significant predictors of successful collection of peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC). Two predictive models were constructed based on the results of multivariate logistic analyses. Model 1 included the mobilization regimen, Mono, PLT, and MNC, whereas Model 2 included the mobilization regimen, Mono, PLT, MNC, and PB CD34+ counts. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis showed that the PB CD34+ counts, Model 1, and Model 2 could predict successful HSCs collection, with cutoff values of 26.92 × 106/L, 0.548, and 0.355, respectively. Model 1 could predict successful HSCs collection with a sensitivity of 84.62%, specificity of 75.73%, and area under the curve (AUC) of 0.863. Model 2 could predict successful HSCs collection with a sensitivity of 83.52%, specificity of 94.17%, and AUC of 0.946; thus, it was superior to the PB CD34+ counts alone.Our findings suggest that the combination of the mobilization regimen, Mono, PLT, MNC, and PB CD34+ counts before collection has predictive value for the efficacy of autologous HSCs collection in patients with MM and lymphoma. Anion exchange membrane fuel cell (AEMFC) is an emerging and promising technology that can help realize a carbon‐neutral, sustainable economy. Also, compared to the proton exchange membrane counterpart, AEMFC can achieve comparable cell outputs with lower costs due to the applicability of non‐platinum group metal electrocatalysts for the reaction on the electrodes’ surfaces. However, the wide application of the AEMFCs has been impeded by the unsatisfactory stability and performance of the hydroxide‐conductive membranes in the past. Recently researchers have made breakthroughs using polyarylene (PA)‐based AEMs. This article summarizes the recent advances of a class of AEMs with aromatic backbone without ether bonds, mainly synthesized by Friedel–Crafts polycondensation. Such PA‐based AEMs showed high chemical/mechanical stabilities and ionic conductivity, and even the fuel cell with those AEMs showed impressive peak power density of up to 2.58 W cm−2. In this concept article, we classify major strategies for making PA‐based AEMs to show the recent trends, highlight synthesis, characterization, and properties, and provide a brief outlook. Sand rice (Agriophyllum squarrosum (L.) Moq.), an annual psammophyte, is a promising wild plant for de novo domestication. Although many related studies have been documented recently, a basic phenological scale describing its growth stages is lacking. To address this gap, we have defined nine principal growth stages, each subdivided into several secondary stages according the international BBCH coding system. The growth stages mainly include seedling emergence, leaf development, formation of the primary branches, main stem elongation, inflorescence emergence, flowering, fruit development, ripening and senescence. Importantly, the growth sequence of sand rice reveals a distinctive stage, coded as BBCH21, characterized by the elongation of the first pair of primary branches, which occurs prior to main stem visible (BBCH30). This branch priority phenotype in sand rice strongly challenges the generally recognized growth pattern of ‘apical dominance’ in dicotyledons. The sequential and chronological progression of principal growth stages of sand rice was further determined in an experimental field with a representative genotype from the Tengger desert of Northwest China in 2023. The establishment of BBCH scale of sand rice lays a methodological foundation for morphological assessment among different germplasms and between wild‐type and mutant plants. Objective: To reveal the overall sperm retrieval rate (SRR) and range in patients with azoospermia factor c (AZFc) microdeletion azoospermia by microdissection testicular sperm extraction (mTESE) and discuss the differences of preoperative patient factors among studies with various SRRs. Patients and Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science and Embase until February 2023. All studies reporting SRRs by mTESE and required parameters of patients with AZFc microdeletions were included. The primary outcome was the SRR and, if available, the pregnancy rate (PR) and live‐birth rate (LBR) after intracytoplasmic sperm injection were also investigated as secondary outcomes. Results: Eventually 11 cohort studies were included in this review. A total number of 441 patients underwent mTESE and in 275 of them sperm was obtained, reaching an overall SRR of 62.4%. The SRRs among studies had a wide range from 25.0% to 85.7%. The studies reporting higher SRRs generally had older mean ages, and higher follicle‐stimulating hormone and testosterone levels. Only four studies provided practical data on pregnancies and live‐born children of patients with AZFc microdeletions, so the overall PR and LBR were unavailable. Bi2Te3‐based materials have drawn much attention from the thermoelectric community due to their excellent thermoelectric performance near room temperature. However, the stability of existing n‐type Bi2(Te,Se)3 materials is still low due to the evaporation energy of Se (37.70 kJ mol−1) being much lower than that of Te (52.55 kJ mol−1). The evaporated Se from the material causes problems in interconnects of the module while degrading the efficiency. Here, we have developed a new approach for the high‐performance and stable n‐type Se‐free Bi2Te3‐based materials by maximizing the electronic transport while suppressing the phonon transport, at the same time. Spontaneously generated FeTe2 nanoinclusions within the matrix during the melt‐spinning and subsequent spark plasma sintering is the key to simultaneous engineering of the power factor and lattice thermal conductivity. The nanoinclusions change the fermi level of the matrix while intensifying the phonon scattering via nanoparticles. With a fine‐tuning of the fermi level with Cu doping in the n‐type Bi2Te3–0.02FeTe2, a high power factor of ~41 × 10−4 Wm−1 K−2 with an average zT of 1.01 at the temperature range 300–470 K are achieved, which are comparable to those obtained in n‐type Bi2(Te,Se)3 materials. The proposed approach enables the fabrication of high‐performance n‐type Bi2Te3‐based materials without having to include volatile Se element, which guarantees the stability of the material. Pseudo‐nitzschia is a group of widely distributed planktonic diatoms. Some species produce the neurotoxin domoic acid. Herein, two new Pseudo‐nitzschia species were described from Chinese coastal waters and the South China Sea after combining morphological and molecular data, together with biogeographical traits. Pseudo‐nitzschia punctionis sp. nov. was similar to Pseudo‐nitzschia bipertita morphologically, but differed in poroid structure, which was undivided in P. punctionis but divided in two sectors in P. bipertita. This difference corresponded to the presence of two hemicompensatory base changes (HCBCs) in the secondary structure of internal transcribed spacer 2. Pseudo‐nitzschia polymorpha sp. nov. was sister to Pseudo‐nitzschia limii phylogenetically, but distinct by the various shapes of perforations on the valve and copula, which was supported by four HCBCs. In a metabarcoding analysis, multiple new ribotypes were identified within the two new species, and intraspecific genetic divergences were analyzed. Metabarcoding data revealed that P. punctionis had a broader temperature range (12.9–30.5°C) than P. polymorpha (22.3–30.5°C). Within the two new species, different traits were found among the amplicon sequence variants regarding temperature and biogeography, representing different microevolutionary directions under environmental selection. The two new species had different biogeographical traits when compared to their closely related species. Domoic acid was detected in strains of P. punctionis at a concentration of 13.5–17.7 fg/cell, but the toxin was not found in strains of P. polymorpha. A combination of characters based on laboratory strains and field metabarcoding data provided more data for delimiting Pseudo‐nitzschia species and gave new insights into their diversity and biogeography. Background: Conventional methods for estimating the noise power spectrum (NPS) often necessitate multiple computed tomography (CT) data acquisitions and are required to satisfy stringent stationarity and ergodicity conditions, which prove challenging in CT imaging systems. Purpose: The aim was to revisit the conventional NPS estimation method, leading to a new framework that estimates local NPS without relying on stationarity or ergodicity, thus facilitating experimental NPS estimations. Methods: The scientific foundation of the conventional CT NPS measurement method, based on the Wiener‐Khintchine theorem, was reexamined, emphasizing the critical conditions of stationarity and ergodicity. This work proposes an alternative framework, characterized by its independence from stationarity and ergodicity, and its ability to facilitate local NPS estimations. A spatial average of local NPS over a Region of Interest (ROI) yields the conventional NPS for that ROI. The connections and differences between the proposed alternative method and the conventional method are discussed. Experimental studies were conducted to validate the new method. Results: (1) The NPS estimated using the conventional method was demonstrated to correspond to the spatial average of pointwise NPS from the proposed NPS estimation framework. (2) The NPS estimated over an ROI with the conventional method was shown to be the sum of the NPS estimated from the proposed method and a contribution from measurement uncertainty. (3) Local NPS estimations from the proposed method in this work elucidate the impact of surrounding image content on local NPS variations. Conclusion: The NPS estimation method proposed in this work allows for the estimation of local NPS without relying on stationarity and ergodicity conditions, offering local NPS estimations with significantly improved precision. This paper investigates the volatility connectedness and dynamic time–frequency relationship between Bitcoin (BTC) and 15 major agricultural commodity markets during the COVID‐19 and 2022 Russia–Ukraine war periods. We employ the TVP‐VAR‐based extended joint connectedness method, minimum connectedness investment portfolio, and wavelet coherence (WC) method. The results indicate that the sudden outbreaks of the two crises brought about increased volatility connectedness between BTC and agricultural commodity markets. Throughout the entire sample period, BTC remained a net transmitter of volatility. Moreover, in terms of the total connectedness index (TCI), the overall volatility correlation surged rapidly after the outbreak of COVID‐19 and the 2022 Russia–Ukraine war. The portfolio results demonstrated that BTC exhibited a low correlation with the agricultural commodity markets, suggesting diversification potential. Additionally, only Feeder Cattle served as an effective hedging asset for BTC throughout all periods. The WC analysis confirmed that during the COVID‐19 period and the 2022 Russia–Ukraine war, most of the linkages were primarily concentrated at medium‐ to long‐term frequencies. Our analysis will contribute to a deeper understanding of the interconnection between these markets, enabling market participants to consider risk mitigation measures and support portfolio diversification when formulating policies and regulations involving relevant markets in the future. Objective: To analyze duties, tasks, and task elements of health workers in charge of vaccination at public health centers in South Korea. Design: Descriptive study using a survey. Sample: Health workers in charge of vaccination for more than 1 year at 254 public health centers in South Korea. Of 631 health workers, 401 responded to the questionnaire, and 379 responses were included in the analysis after excluding 22 incomplete responses. Measurements: The Developing A Curriculum (DACUM) workshop was conducted to identify the frequency, importance, and difficulty of duties, tasks, and task elements. Results: Four duties (vaccination promotion, vaccination administration and symptom management, execution of vaccination, and vaccination education), 18 tasks, and 81 task elements were identified. "Execution of vaccination" exhibited the highest determinant coefficient. "Implementing the budget" exhibited the highest determinant coefficient among tasks, and "dealing with an emergency in the case of adverse events" exhibited the highest determinant coefficient among task elements. Conclusions: Duty, task, and task elements with high determinant coefficients have high educational needs. Education demands was higher for administrative work than for direct vaccination. A general approach is reported to fabricate a series of single‐phase 2:17‐type rare‐earth cobalt (RE2Co17, RE = Y, Ce, Pr, Nd, and Gd) nanoalloys by precisely controlled calcium thermic reduction of amorphous RE‐Co precursors. High‐purity hexagonal RE2Co17 phases are formed without the precipitation of Co and the other RE‐Co phases through the accurately manipulated co‐reduction of the two ions, which avoids the disadvantages of the impurity or second phases for RE metal alloys. RE2Co17/graphite nanostructures constructed with flower‐like RE2Co17 nanoalloys superficially decorated with nanosized graphite are further fabricated by introducing graphene oxides into the co‐reduction process. Compared with traditional magnetic planar‐anisotropy RE2Co17 alloys, the preserved high saturation magnetization (51.2–102.9 A m2 kg−1) and unusually increased coercivity (152–310.5 Oe) are achieved in these graphite‐decorated RE2Co17 nanoalloys. Moreover, these RE2Co17/graphite nanostructures exhibit good microwave absorption with an applied frequency range of 11.76–18 GHz, which shows their potential applications as new‐type Ku‐band electromagnetic materials. This work provides a facial way for the large‐scale production for varieties of single‐phase 2:17‐type RE‐Co nanoalloys and expands their application fields by constructing novel composite structures. Delpazolid (LCB01‐0371) is a novel oxazolidinone derivative with a good safety profile for treating gram‐positive pathogenic infections such as Mycobacterium abscessus, a highly pathogenic drug‐resistant Mycobacterium. In this study, we evaluated the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of delpazolid after 14 days of multiple oral administration, using data from adult patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. 800 mg once a day, 400 mg twice a day, 800 mg twice a day, and 1200 mg once a day delpazolid for 14 days were tested in 63 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. For PK blood collection, inpatient and outpatient scheduling were separately implemented. Plasma concentrations of delpazolid were measured at visits 2, 4, 6, and 8 in outpatients, and four sparse blood samples were measured in inpatients. PD models were sequentially fitted using individual PK parameter estimates obtained from PK compartmental models. For PK modeling, 180 plasma concentrations of delpazolid from 56 patients were included. A two‐compartment mixed first‐ and zero‐order absorption model best described the time course of plasma concentration. For the PD model, 448 bacterial titer data from 60 patients were used. The time course of bacterial titers (log10 CFU/mL) was described by a model that consists of the growth and killing rate of bacteria with the sigmoid Emax model. The PK–PD simulation suggested that the bacterial titers are the lowest on the 800 mg bid regimen among the four, consistent with observed data, as all regimens substantially decrease. In clinical practice, the diagnosis of ulcerative colitis (UC) mainly relies on a comprehensive analysis of a series of signs and symptoms of patients. The current biomarkers for diagnosis of UC and prognostic prediction of anti‐TNF‐α therapy are inaccurate. The present study aimed to perform an integrative analysis of gene expression profiles in patients with UC. A total of seven datasets from the GEO database that met our strict inclusion criteria were included. After identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between UC patients and healthy individuals, the diagnostic and prognostic utility of the DEGs were then analyzed via least absolute shrinkage and selection operator and support‐vector machine recursive feature elimination. Subgroup analyses of the treated and untreated groups, as well as the treatment‐response group and non‐response group, were also performed. Furthermore, the relationship between the expressions of UC‐related genes and infiltration of immune cells in the course of treatment was also investigated. Immunohistochemical (IHC) assay was used to verify the gene expression in inflamed UC tissues. When considering all the applied methods, DUOX2, PI3, S100P, MMP7, and S100A8 had priority to be defined as the characteristic genes among DEGs. The area under curve (AUC) of the five genes, which were all consistently over‐expressed, based on an external validation dataset, were all above 0.94 for UC diagnosis. Four of the five genes (DUOX2, PI3, MMP7, and S100A8) were down‐regulated between treatment‐responsive and nonresponsive patients. A significant difference was also observed concerning the infiltration of immune cells, including macrophage and neutrophil, between the two groups (treatment responsive and nonresponsive). The changes in the expression of DUOX2 and MMP7 based on the IHC assay were highly consistent with the results obtained in the current study. This confirmed the mild to moderate diagnostic and predictive value of DUOX2 and MMP7 in patients with UC. The conducted analyses showed that the expression profile of the five identified biomarkers accurately detects UC, whereas four of the five genes evidently predicted the response to anti‐TNF‐α therapy. Background: The predictive value of carotid plaque characteristics for silent stroke (SS) after carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is unclear. Objective: To investigate the associations between carotid plaque characteristics and postoperative SS in patients undergoing CEA. Study Type: Prospective. Population: One hundred fifty‐three patients (mean age: 65.4 ± 7.9 years; 126 males) with unilateral moderate‐to‐severe carotid stenosis (evaluated by CT angiography) referred for CEA. Field Strength/Sequence: 3 T, brain‐MRI:T2‐PROPELLER, T1‐/T2‐FLAIR, diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and T2*, carotid‐MRI:black‐blood T1‐/T2W, 3D TOF, Simultaneous Non‐contrast Angiography intraplaque hemorrhage. Assessment: Patients underwent carotid‐MRI within 1‐week before CEA, and brain‐MRI within 48‐hours pre‐/post‐CEA. The presence and size (volume, maximum‐area‐percentage) of carotid lipid‐rich necrotic core (LRNC), intraplaque hemorrhage (Type‐I/Type‐II IPH) and calcification were evaluated on carotid‐MR images. Postoperative SS was assessed from pre‐/post‐CEA brain DWI. Patients were divided into moderate‐carotid‐stenosis (50%–69%) and severe‐carotid‐stenosis (70%–99%) groups and the associations between carotid plaque characteristics and SS were analyzed. Statistical Tests: Independent t test, Mann–Whitney U‐test, chi‐square test and logistic regressions (OR: odds ratio, CI: confidence interval). P value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: SS was found in 8 (16.3%) of the 49 patients with moderate‐carotid‐stenosis and 21 (20.2%) of the 104 patients with severe‐carotid‐stenosis. In patients with severe‐carotid‐stenosis, those with SS had significantly higher IPH (66.7% vs. 39.8%) and Type‐I IPH (66.7% vs. 38.6%) than those without. The presence of IPH (OR 3.030, 95% CI 1.106–8.305) and Type‐I IPH (OR 3.187, 95% CI 1.162–8.745) was significantly associated with SS. After adjustment, the associations of SS with presence of IPH (OR 3.294, 95% CI 1.122–9.669) and Type‐I IPH (OR 3.633, 95% CI 1.216–10.859) remained significant. Moreover, the volume of Type‐II IPH (OR 1.014, 95% CI 1.001–1.028), and maximum‐area‐percentage of Type‐II IPH (OR 1.070, 95% CI 1.002–1.142) and LRNC (OR 1.030, 95% CI 1.000–1.061) were significantly associated with SS after adjustment. No significant (P range: 0.203–0.980) associations were found between carotid plaque characteristics and SS in patients with moderate‐carotid‐stenosis. Data Conclusions: In patients with unilateral severe‐carotid‐stenosis, carotid vulnerable plaque MR features, particularly presence and size of IPH, might be effective predictors for SS after CEA. Aim: To investigate the associations of individual and combined healthy lifestyle factors (HLS) with the risk of stroke in individuals with diabetes in China. Methods: This prospective analysis included 41 314 individuals with diabetes [15 191 from the Comprehensive Research on the Prevention and Control of the Diabetes (CRPCD) project and 26 123 from the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study]. Associations of lifestyle factors, including cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, diet, body shape and sleep duration, with the risk of stroke, intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) and ischaemic stroke (IS) were assessed using Cox proportional hazard models. Results: During median follow‐up periods of 8.02 and 9.05 years, 2499 and 4578 cases of stroke, 2147 and 4024 of IS, and 160 and 728 of ICH were documented in individuals with diabetes in the CRPCD and CKB cohorts, respectively. In the CRPCD cohort, patients with ≥5 HLS had a 14% lower risk of stroke (hazard ratio (HR): 0.86, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.75‐0.98) than those with ≤2 HLS. In the CKB cohort, the adjusted HR (95% CI) for patients with ≥5 HLS were 0.74 (0.66‐0.83) for stroke, 0.74 (0.66‐0.83) for IS, and 0.57 (0.42‐0.78) for ICH compared with those with ≤2 HLS. The pooled adjusted HR (95% CI) comparing patients with ≥5 HLS versus ≤2 HLS was 0.79 (0.69‐0.92) for stroke, 0.80 (0.68‐0.93) for IS, and 0.60 (0.46‐0.78) for ICH. BACKGROUND: The US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) summer meal programs are designed to provide meals at no cost while school is out of session. In response to the COVID‐19 pandemic, several regulatory waivers were enacted to facilitate meal distribution. The aim of this study was to assess the rates of meal distribution before and after these waivers were in effect. METHODS: Meal distribution patterns for 2019, 2020, and 2021 were examined through (1) a descriptive comparison of the number of participating districts, sponsors, meal sites, and meals distributed statewide, and (2) repeated measures ANOVAs to examine changes among districts in operation all years. RESULTS: The waivers were associated with an increase in the total number of participating districts, sponsors, and meal sites; an increase in the total number of meals distributed to children during the summer months; and an increase in meal distribution among sponsors that had been in place since 2019. Conclusion: Expanding the area eligibility criteria and enabling flexibility in meal distribution methods increased the number of meals provided. This study provides important preliminary evidence to suggest that the USDA should consider permanent regulatory changes to this program to maximize its reach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: The use of synbiotics is emerging as a promising intervention strategy for regulating the gut microbiota and for preventing or reducing obesity, in comparison with the use of probiotics or prebiotics alone. A previous in vivo study revealed that Lacticaseibacillus paracasei K56 (L. paracasei K56) could alleviate obesity induced in high‐fat‐diet mice; however, the effect of the synbiotic combination of L. paracasei K56 and prebiotics in obese individuals has not been explored fully. RESULTS: The effect of prebiotics on the proliferation of L. paracasei K56 was determined by spectrophotometry. The results showed that polydextrose (PG), xylooligosaccharide (XOS), and galactooligosaccharide (GOS) had a greater potential to be used as substrates for L. paracasei K56 than three other prebiotics (melitose, stachyose, and mannan‐oligosaccharide). An in vitro fermentation model based on the feces of ten obese female volunteers was then established. The results revealed that K56_GOS showed a significant increase in GOS degradation rate and short‐chain fatty acid (SCFA) content, and a decrease in gas levels, compared with PG, XOS, GOS, K56_PG, and K56_XOS. Changes in these microbial biomarkers, including a significant increase in Bacteroidota, Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, Faecalibacterium, and Blautia and a decrease in the Firmicutes/Bacteroidota ratio and Escherichia‐Shigella in the K56_GOS group, were associated with increased SCFA content and decreased gas levels. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates the effect of the synbiotic combination of L. paracasei K56 and GOS on obese individuals and indicates its potential therapeutic role in obesity treatment. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry. BACKGROUND: Ralstonia solanacearum, a notorious and refractory bacterial plant pathogen, threatens multiple vegetable crops and causes significant economic loss in agriculture. Long‐term use of traditional medicines not only increases the problem of drug resistance, but also causes great environmental pollution. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop new agents with high efficacy and low toxicity. RESULTS: In this study, we have synthesized and characterized graphitic carbon nitride incorporated copper oxide composite (g‐C3N4@CuO), which showed higher antimicrobial effect than graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (g‐C3N4 nanosheets) and copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs). Ralstonia solanacearum exposed to g‐C3N4@CuO exhibited higher levels of oxygen toxicity, cell membrane damage, DNA damage, motility disruption and even cell death compared to g‐C3N4 nanosheets and CuONPs. In addition, g‐C3N4@CuO was more effective in the control of tobacco bacterial wilt than g‐C3N4 nanosheets and CuONPs. CONCLUSION: Thus, this study provides a new perspective on g‐C3N4@CuO control of bacterial diseases in crops, and the mechanism is related to the destruction of cell membrane damage and motility disruption. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry. Objectives: To investigate the ability of propolis‐coated ureteric stents to solve complications, especially urinary tract infections (UTIs) and crusting, in patients with long‐term indwelling ureteric stents through antimicrobial and anti‐calculus activities. Materials and Methods: Polyurethane (PU) ureteric stents were immersed in the ethanol extract of propolis (EEP), a well‐known antimicrobial honeybee product, and subjected to chemical, hydrophilic, and seismic tests. The antimicrobial activity of the EEP coating was then examined by in vitro investigation. Proteus mirabilis infection was induced in rats within uncoated and EEP‐coated groups, and the infection, stone formation, and inflammation were monitored at various time points. Results: The characterisation results showed that the hydrophilicity and stability of the EEP surface improved. In vitro tests revealed that the EEP coating was biocompatible, could eliminate >90% of bacteria biofilms attached to the stent and could maintain bacteriostatic properties for up to 3 months. The in vivo experiment revealed that the EEP‐coating significantly reduced the amount of bacteria, stones, and salt deposits on the surface of the ureteric stents and decreased inflammation in the host tissue. Conclusions: Compared with clinically used PU stents, EEP‐coated ureteric stents could better mitigate infections and prevent encrustation. Aim Methods Results Conclusions The aim of this work is to present a new protocol for implant surgical planning which involves the combined use of artificial intelligence (AI) and mixed reality (MR).This protocol involves the acquisition of three‐dimensional (3D) patient data through intraoral scanning (IOS) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). These data are loaded into AI software which automatically segments and aligns the patient's 3D models. These 3D models are loaded into MR software and used for planning implant surgery through holography. The files are then exported and used to design surgical guides via open‐source software, which are 3D printed and used to prepare the implant sites through static computer‐assisted implant surgery (s‐CAIS). The case is finalized prosthetically through a fully digital protocol. The accuracy of implant positioning is verified by comparing the planned position with the actual position of the implants after surgery.As a proof of principle, the present protocol seems to be to be reliable and efficient when used for planning simple cases of s‐CAIS in partially edentulous patients. The clinician can plan the implants in an authentic 3D environment without using any radiology‐guided surgery software. The precision of implant placement seems clinically acceptable, with minor deviations.The present study suggests that AI and MR technologies can be successfully used in s‐CAIS for an authentic 3D planning. Directly using aluminum (Al) foil as anode material offers a streamlined manufacturing process by eliminating the need for conductive additives, binders, and casting procedures. Nonetheless, monolithic Al foil anodes often suffer from mechanical failure and poor cyclability, posing challenges for practical adoption. In this study, a high‐concentration ether‐based electrolyte is employed to boost the durability of the Al foil anode. In contrast to traditional low‐concentration electrolytes, the use of 5 m lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide in 1,2‐dimethoxyethane promotes the priority decomposition of anions, leading to the creation of a fluoride‐rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer with exceptional structural modulus and high ion conductivity. These outcomes, coupled with Al's superior compatibility in the chosen electrolyte, enable a record‐breaking cycle life of up to 400 cycles for Li//Al half‐cells, when operated at a high areal capacity of 1 mAh cm−2. In full‐cell configurations, an outstanding capacity retention is also observed, with 96.9% after 150 cycles even under practical conditions involving a 40 µm thin Al foil and a 7.4 mg cm−2 LiFePO4 cathode. These results not only mark the pioneering use of high‐concentration ether‐based electrolyte systems in Al foil anodes but also showcase the high potential for developing low‐cost and high‐energy Al foil‐based LIBs. To address the short lifetime of plasma‐activated water (PAW), this work reports on the application of ultralong‐lasting PAW for plant disease treatment. Compared with lettuce without ultralong‐lasting PAW treatment, the treated lettuce solution showed c. 1 log10 colony forming units mL−1 decrease in pathogens, as well as improvements in leaf area, leaf weight, root length, and root weight by 75%, 20%, 108.33%, and 150%, respectively. The leaf withering/root mortality rate of PAW‐treated plants was significantly lower than those of non‐PAW‐treated plants. Besides, disease defense‐related enzymes, such as catalase and β−1,3‐glucanase, were respectively enhanced by 112.5% and 5.13% in PAW‐treated lettuce, while the plant defense‐related genes were upregulated to respond to the pathogen's invasion.
