To date, new prototype device for directly converting chemical energy into electricity is still the most important pursuit although various types of fuel cells have been developed/commercialized. In this work, a novel (101¯0$10\bar{1}0$) orientated ZnO single crystal device is reported that generates electricity using the usual redox reactions. The principle of the device is similar to that of a photovoltaic device, known as a chem‐voltaic device. The air‐KBH4 chem‐voltaic device has an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 2.14 ± 0.007 mV and a short‐circuit current (Isc) of 1.44 ± 0.007 µA. The Voc and Isc increase to 2.24 mV and 2.81 µA, respectively, by preadding H2O2. A similar phenomenon is also observed when glucose is used to substitute KBH4. When KBH4 or glucose solution is added to the ZnO (101¯0$10\bar{1}0$) surface, it reacts with chemisorbed oxygen to produce free electrons. Due to the presence of the spontaneous electric field (Es) in the polar [0001] azimuth of ZnO, these free electrons move along the [0001] direction, producing an electric current. 2D van der Waals heterostructures (2D vdWHs) have been gaining significant attention in neuromorphic electronics. However, the facile synthesis of large‐scale, high‐quality freestanding 2D vdWHs remains challenge, particularly for organic counterparts due to susceptible nucleation behaviors and weak intermolecular interactions. Here, the study reports a graphene oxide (GO)‐assisted molecular crystal co‐assembly method for one‐step growth of centimeter‐scale freestanding heterostructures. This co‐assembly involves the simultaneous assembling of organic and GO precursors at the liquid–liquid interface, where the amphiphilic nature of GO nanosheets facilitates the diffusion of organic molecules and 2D nucleation of organic crystals, and the nanosheets also become enriched to grow a quasi‐solid film for the bilayer formation. Owing to integrated photosensitive and charge‐trapping properties as well as type II band structure, this heterostructure exhibits exceptional photonic synaptic behaviors, with a paired‐pulse facilitation index of 141% and image recognition of 91%. Saturated heterocycles are important class of structural scaffolds in small‐molecule drugs, natural products, and synthetic intermediates. Here, we disclosed a metal free, mild, and scalable functionalization of saturated heterocycles using vinylarenes as a linchpin approach. Key to success of this transformation is the employing of simple and cheap benzophenone as a hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) catalyst. This operationally robust process was used for the making of diverse functionalized saturated heterocycles. Furthermore, aldehydes, alkane, and alcohol have been functionalized under the optimized conditions. The potential pharmaceutical utility of the procedure has also been demonstrated by late‐stage functionalization of bioactive natural compounds and pharmaceutical molecules. Glass formation in zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) has garnered significant attention in the field of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in recent years. Numerous works have been conducted to investigate the microscopic mechanisms involved in the melting–quenching process of ZIFs. Understanding the density variations that occur during the melting process of ZIFs is crucial for comprehending the origins of glass formation. However, conducting large‐scale simulations has been challenging due to limitations in computational resources. In this work, we used deep‐learning methods to accurately construct a potential function that describes the atomic‐scale melting behavior of ZIF‐4. The results revealed the spatial heterogeneity associated with the formation of low‐density phases during the melting process of ZIF‐4. This work discusses the advantages and limitations of applying deep‐learning simulation methods to complex structures like ZIFs, providing valuable insights for the development of machine‐learning approaches in designing MOF glasses. Photothermal therapy (PTT) has a great prospect in further improving tumor therapeutic outcomes, whereas its efficiency is restrained by low light penetration, excessive heat damage to normal tissues, up‐regulated heat shock proteins (HSPs), and limited effect of single treatment. Herein, an enzyme‐engineered coppery nanozyme based on dendritic mesoporous coppery carbon nanosphere as the cornerstone to load with glucose oxidase (GOx) followed by modification with hyaluronic acid is constructed. Density functional theory calculations indicate that the obtained coppery nanozyme exhibits peroxidase and glutathione oxidase mimicking activities to improve hydroxyl radicals (•OH) production. Furthermore, both the generation of •OH production and GOx‐induced energy supply blockade can reduce HSPs expression to enhance the mild PTT (η = 34.9 %) of coppery nanozyme upon the irradiation of 1064 nm laser, and in turn, accelerate the catalytic processes of coppery nanozyme for more generation of •OH. Last but not least, the introduction of copper can induce lipoylated protein dihydrolipoamide S‐acetyltransferase aggregation to cause cellular cuproptosis. Due to the synergy of multiple therapies, the tumor inhibition rate can reach 93.4%. Seismic technique is widely used to image the subsurface geology for oil and gas exploration. The image quality depends on the spatial sampling density. However, it is challenging and expensive to acquire high‐density seismic data, particularly in the marine environment. Distributed acoustic sensing data are increasingly used in data acquisition because of their low cost and dense spatial sampling. Here, we present a novel type of high‐density towed streamer based on distributed acoustic sensing technology and report the results of a sea trial. This sea trial was conducted in a gas hydrate province as the major driver to develop this technique is to better characterize gas hydrate deposits. Throughout the experiment, several high‐quality datasets were obtained, and parameters like source energies and filler materials were examined. The trace interval of distributed acoustic sensing streamer data reaches 1 m, which is a significant improvement over the usual 3.125 or 6.25 m in the conventional towed streamer. A detailed analysis was carried out from three different perspectives: amplitude, noise and frequency. One of the datasets was further processed following a routine workflow to obtain the final image. Though direct comparison with the image obtained by a conventional towed streamer along a coincident line is not available, the comparison with the previous image from a nearby line shows the improvement in resolution. The final image is of good quality and the presence of gas hydrate could be inferred. The sea trial results demonstrate the feasibility of the use of a distributed acoustic sensing optical fibre streamer in acquiring high‐density seismic data in the marine environment. Personal protective clothing is designed to safeguard medical personnel from highly infectious diseases. However, it often compromises comfort, especially when worn outdoors during epidemics like the global COVID‐19 outbreak. This can lead to discomfort and even heatstroke. To tackle this issue, radiative cooling is incorporated into personal protective clothing by integrating hierarchically porous poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF‐HFP) membranes into the fabric. These membranes possess a remarkable solar reflection rate of 96.9% and a strong mid‐infrared emittance of 95.2%. In practical scenarios, when exposed to clear sunny weather at midday, wearing radiative cooling personal protective clothing has the potential to reduce the temperature by 4.7 °C compared to commercially available personal protective clothing. Moreover, the lamination of porous PVDF‐HFP membranes enhances the protective capacity by increasing the synthetic blood penetration pressure from 7 to 20 kPa. The manufacturing process is straightforward, cost‐effective, and aligns with industry standards, making it suitable for large‐scale implementation in epidemic prevention and control. First‐arrival travel‐time tomography is frequently used in ocean‐bottom seismometer surveys for estimating subsurface velocity. However, due to a lack of seismometer stations or ray sampling, the tomographic images' spatial resolution and quality are typically low. Inspired by the multiple imaging of ocean‐bottom seismometer data, in this study, I developed a mirror tomography method to incorporate the travel times of refraction multiples in first‐arrival travel‐time tomography. Specifically, the travel times of refraction multiples were treated as virtual first‐arrival travel times from the mirror positions of the stations. This technique enhances ray coverage and stabilizes the inversion. I confirmed that the travel times of refraction multiples were consistent with the first‐arrival travel times calculated using numerical modelling at the mirror position of the station. Synthetic examples showed that the mirror tomography scheme may enhance ray coverage and model resolution. Mirror tomography may compensate for the uneven distribution of travel‐time picks caused by the loss of the ocean‐bottom seismometer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The severity of osteoarthritis (OA) and cartilage degeneration is highly associated with synovial inflammation. Although recent investigations have revealed a dysregulated crosstalk between fibroblast‐like synoviocytes (FLSs) and macrophages in the pathogenesis of synovitis, limited knowledge is available regarding the involvement of exosomes. Here, increased exosome secretion is observed in FLSs from OA patients. Notably, internalization of inflammatory FLS‐derived exosomes (inf‐exo) can enhance the M1 polarization of macrophages, which further induces an OA‐like phenotype in co‐cultured chondrocytes. Intra‐articular injection of inf‐exo induces synovitis and exacerbates OA progression in murine models. In addition, it is demonstrated that inf‐exo stimulation triggers the activation of glycolysis. Inhibition of glycolysis using 2‐DG successfully attenuates excessive M1 polarization triggered by inf‐exo. Mechanistically, HIF1A is identified as the determinant transcription factor, inhibition of which, both pharmacologically or genetically, relieves macrophage inflammation triggered by inf‐exo‐induced hyperglycolysis. Furthermore, in vivo administration of an HIF1A inhibitor alleviates experimental OA. The results provide novel insights into the involvement of FLS‐derived exosomes in OA pathogenesis, suggesting that inf‐exo‐induced macrophage dysfunction represents an attractive target for OA therapy. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive fibrotic disease of unknown pathogenic origin. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress refers to the process by which cells take measures to ER function when the morphology and function of the reticulum are changed. Recent studies have demonstrated that the ER was involved in the evolution and progression of IPF. In this study, we obtained transcriptome data and relevant clinical information from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and conducted bioinformatics analysis. Among the 544 ER stress‐related genes (ERSRGs), 78 were identified as differentially expressed genes (DEGs). These DEGs were primarily enriched in response to ER stress, protein binding, and protein processing. Two genes (HTRA2 and KTN1) were included for constructing an accurate molecular signature. The overall survival of patients was remarkably worse in the high‐risk group than in the low‐risk group. We further analyzed the difference in immune cells between high‐risk and low‐risk groups. M0 and M2 macrophages were significantly increased in the high‐risk group. Our results suggested that ERSRGs might play a critical role in the development of IPF by regulating the immune microenvironment in the lungs, which provide new insights on predicting the prognosis of patients with IPF. BiVO4 is one of the most promising candidates for photoelectrochemical water oxidation. However, the poor crystallinity and short hole diffusion length limit its charge separation. One bottleneck stems from the contradiction between high crystallinity and small particles via conventional furnace heating processes. This paper describes the design and fabrication of BiVO4 photoanodes via rapid thermal process (RTP), rather than furnace heating, to decouple the constraints between nucleation, crystallization, and growth processes of BiVO4. The higher heating ramp rate of RTP compared with furnace heating promotes the fast diffusion of reactant molecules, which elevates the nucleation rate above the particle growth rate of BiVO4, leading to small particles with high crystallinity. Moreover, the ultra‐high heating temperature makes it possible to crystallize the small BiVO4 particle within a short time. Thus, a high crystallinity can be obtained for the RTP‐treated BiVO4 while maintaining small particle size, achieving a charge separation efficiency of up to 82%, 30% higher than that of furnace‐treated BiVO4 photoanode. Spatially confined photocatalysis has emerged as a viable strategy for the intensification of various redox reactions, but the influence of confined structure on reaction behavior is always overlooked in gas‐solid reactions. Herein, we report a nanomembrane with confining Cs3Bi2Br9 nanocrystals inside vertical channels of porous insulated silica thin sheets (CBB@SBA(⊥)) for photocatalytic nitric oxide (NO) abatement. The ordered one‐dimensional (1D) pore channels with mere 70 nm channel length provide a highly accessible confined space for catalytic reactions. A record‐breaking NO conversion efficiency of 98.2 % under a weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) of 3.0×106 mL g−1 h−1, as well as exceptionally high stability over 14 h and durability over a wide humidity range (RH=15–90 %) was realized over SBA(⊥) confined Cs3Bi2Br9, well beyond its nonconfined analogue and the Cs3Bi2Br9 confine in Santa Barbara Amorphous (SBA‐15). Mechanism studies suggested that the insulated pore channels of SBA(⊥) in CBB@SBA(⊥) endow concentrated electron field and enhanced mass transfer that render high exposure of reactive species and lower reaction barrier needs for ⋅O2− formation and NO oxidation, as well as prevents structural degradation of Cs3Bi2Br9. Through the conventional high‐temperature state reaction, a series of Sr9Ca(Li, Na, K)(PO4)7:Eu2+ phosphors are successfully synthesized. The luminescence of these phosphors can be bifurcated into two distinct regions: blue and red. Upon calculation of their Stokes shifts and comparison of their magnitudes, it is inferred that the blue and red emissions are triggered by the integration of Eu2+ into the Ca2+ and Sr2+ sites, respectively. The disorder of Sr9Ca1.5(PO4)7 phosphors in which Ca2+ is substituted by Li+, Na+, and K+ ions is confirmed by Raman spectroscopy. Among the synthesized phosphors, Sr9CaNa(PO4)7:0.03Eu2+ demonstrates an emission that aligns with the spectral range required for plant growth, suggesting its potential application in plant cultivation. An exploration is carried out to assess the impact of a light‐conversion film, which is fabricated by embedding the phosphor within the PDMS matrix. The study focuses on Chlorella, a unicellular algal species, to determine the enhancement in growth rates attributable to the light‐conversion properties of the film. Chlorella cultures subject to placement of a film containing 5% phosphor exhibited a 9.21% improvement in growth over those placed on a whiteboard, and a 27.69% increase relative to the control group. Introduction of fluorescent down‐conversion layer inside perovskite solar cells (PSCs) can highly improve the ultraviolet response of the devices and the light stability. However, such a device is usually confronted with the problem of inter‐diffusion with the perovskite absorber layer, which severely limits its further development. To address this problem, herein, this work employs an interfacial dual electron transport layers (ETLs) strategy, sandwiching Cd‐CsPbCl3:Mn2+ luminescent quantum dots within gap of the ETLs, which not only reduces the interface energy level offset, but also improves the nucleation and crystallization kinetics of perovskite films and prevents their diffusion to the perovskite absorber layer. As a result, the efficient synergy effect effectively elevates both the open‐circuit voltage and fill factor of the PSCs, reaching maximum values of 1.181 V and 81.14%, respectively, finally delivering progressively increased device power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.32% with significantly improved light stability. To further improve the ultraviolet response, this work further adopts the strategy of dual fluorescent conversion layers inside and outside the PSCs, and finally obtains PCE of 24.63%, which is the best for various luminescent conversion cells. The free‐cutting phase (FCP) plays a crucial role in the machinability of steel materials. This article investigates the existence forms of the Bi–Te–S FCP in steel according to 2D and 3D morphology and observes its evolution process through a high‐temperature confocal laser scanning microscope combined with thermodynamic calculation and crystallographic analysis. The forms of Bi–Te–S composite FCP are classified comprehensively. Six types of Bi–sulfide exist in this work, including separate (SP), cavity bridge (CB), acute angle coated (AAC), obtuse angle coated (OAC), and semicoated types (SC). Five types of Te–sulfide existence forms are found, including CB, AAC, OAC, SC, and complete‐coated types (CC). Regarding the existence forms of Bi–Te–sulfide, five types are identified, including SP, CB, OAC, SC, and CC. The evolution of Bi–Te–S composite FCP is closely related to the proportion of Bi, Te, and S. When the Te/S ratio is below 0.07, Bi–Mn(Te, S)‐bridged two sulfides form, breaking the chain‐like FCP and avoiding the formation of chain‐like FCP. Te mainly dissolves in the sulfide, promoting spherical sulfide formation. When the Te/S ratio is beyond 0.07, MnTe precipitates easily on MnS with more nucleation sites and grows to larger‐sized FCP; subsequently, Bi precipitates around Mn(Te, S), forming the large‐sized spherical MnS–MnTe–Bi FCP. Afterglow materials have attracted much attention owing to their long luminescence lifetimes, large Stokes shifts, and emission without real‐time excitation. Compared with traditional organic afterglow materials, carbon dots (CDs), as a new afterglow material, have superior properties such as easy preparation, low toxicity, and low cost. The emission color of afterglow CDs can be regulated by external factors such as excitation wavelength, temperature, and time, which is highly significant for expanding the diversified applications to make them available for biotechnology and information applications. This review summarizes the research progress of multicolor afterglow CDs in recent years, including luminescence regulation strategies, preparation methods, and applications. First, the multicolor afterglow CDs are classified into three strategies: multicolor room temperature phosphorescence (RTP), thermally activated delayed fluorescence converted to RTP, and delayed fluorescence based on Förster resonance energy transfer, and the strategies for regulating their luminescence properties are analyzed. Second, the preparation methods of achieving multicolor afterglow CDs are summarized in both matrix‐free and matrix‐confined aspects. Then, applications in anticounterfeiting and information encryption, sensing and bioimaging are introduced in detail. A key component of plan delivery time is the energy switching time, which is approximately proportional to the number of energy layers, that is, the cardinality.This work aims to develop a novel optimization method that can efficiently compute the pareto surface between plan quality and energy layer cardinality, for the planner to navigate through this quality‐and‐efficiency tradeoff and select the appropriate plan of a balanced tradeoff.A new IMPT method CARD is proposed that (1) explicitly incorporates the minimization of energy layer cardinality as an optimization objective, and (2) automatically generates a set of plans sequentially with a descending order in number of energy layers. The energy layer cardinality is penalized through the l1,0‐norm regularization with an upper bound, and the upper bound is monotonically decreased to compute a series of treatment plans with gradually decreased energy layer cardinality on the quality‐and‐efficiency pareto surface. For any given treatment plan, the plan optimality is enforced using dose‐volume planning objectives and the plan deliverability is imposed through minimum‐monitor‐unit (MMU) constraints, with optimization solution algorithm based on iterative convex relaxation.The new method CARD was validated in comparison with the benchmark plan of all energy layers (P0), and a state‐of‐the‐art method called MMSEL, using prostate, head‐and‐neck (HN), lung, pancreas, liver and brain cases. While labor‐intensive and time‐consuming manual parameter tuning was needed for MMSEL to generate plans of predefined energy layer cardinality, CARD automatically and efficiently computed all plans with sequentially decreasing predefined energy layer cardinality all at once. With the acceptable plan quality (i.e., no more than 110% of total optimization objective value from P0), CARD achieved the reduction of number of energy layers to 52% (from 77 to 40), 48% (from 135 to 65), 59% (from 85 to 50), 67% (from 52 to 35), 80% (from 50 to 40), and 30% (from 66 to 20), for prostate, HN, lung, pancreas, liver, and brain cases, respectively, compared to P0, with overall better plan quality than MMSEL. Moreover, due to the nonconvexity of the MMU constraint, CARD provided the similar or even smaller optimization objective than P0, at the same time with fewer number of energy layers, that is, 55 versus 77, 85 versus 135, 45 versus 52, and 25 versus 66 for prostate, HN, pancreas, and brain cases, respectively.We have developed a novel optimization algorithm CARD that can efficiently and automatically compute a series of treatment plans of any given energy layer sequentially, which allows the planner to navigate through the plan‐quality and energy‐layer‐cardinality tradeoff and select the appropriate plan of a balanced tradeoff. Single‐atom nanozyme (SAzyme) has sparked increasing interest for catalytic antitumor treatment due to their more tunable and diverse active sites than natural metalloenzymes in complex physiological conditions. However, it is usually a hard task to precisely conduct catalysis at tumor sites after intravenous injection of those SAzyme with high reactivity. Moreover, the explorations of SAzymes in the anticancer application are still in its infancy and need to be developed. Herein, an in situ synthesis strategy for Cu SAzyme was constructed to convert adsorbed copper ions into isolated atoms anchored by oxygen atoms (Cu−O2/Cu−O4) via GSH‐responsive deformability of supports. Our results suggest that the in situ activation process could further facilitate the dissociation of copper ions and the consumption of glutathione, thereby leading to copper deposition in cytoplasm and triggering cuproptosis. Moreover, the in situ synthesis of Cu SAzyme with peroxidase‐like activity enabled the intracellular reactive oxygen species production, resulting in specifically disturbance of copper metabolism pathway. Meanwhile, the in situ exposed glucose transporter (GLUT) inhibitor phloretin (Ph) can block the glycose uptake to boost cuproptosis efficacy. Overall, this in situ activation strategy effectively diminished the off‐target effects of SACs‐induced catalytic therapies and introduced a promising treatment paradigm for advancing cuproptosis‐associated therapies. However, it is usually a hard task to precisely conduct catalysis at tumor sites after intravenous injection of those SAzyme with high reactivity. Moreover, the explorations of SAzymes in the anticancer application are still in its infancy and need to be developed. Herein, an in situ synthesis strategy for Cu SAzyme was constructed to convert adsorbed copper ions into isolated atoms anchored by oxygen atoms (Cu−O2/Cu−O4) via GSH‐responsive deformability of supports. Our results suggest that the in situ activation process could further facilitate the dissociation of copper ions and the consumption of glutathione, thereby leading to copper deposition in cytoplasm and triggering cuproptosis. Moreover, the in situ synthesis of Cu SAzyme with peroxidase‐like activity enabled the intracellular reactive oxygen species production, resulting in specifically disturbance of copper metabolism pathway. Meanwhile, the in situ exposed glucose transporter (GLUT) inhibitor phloretin (Ph) can block the glycose uptake to boost cuproptosis efficacy. Background: The gut microbiome is composed of various microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and protozoa, and constitutes an important part of the human gut. Its composition is closely related to human health and disease. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease whose underlying mechanism has not been fully elucidated. Recent research has shown that there are significant differences in the gut microbiota between AD patients and healthy individuals. Changes in the composition of gut microbiota may lead to the development of harmful factors associated with AD. In addition, the gut microbiota may play a role in the development and progression of AD through the gut–brain axis. However, the exact nature of this relationship has not been fully understood. Aims: This review will elucidate the types and functions of gut microbiota and their relationship with AD and explore in depth the potential mechanisms of gut microbiota in the occurrence of AD and the prospects for treatment strategies. Methods: Reviewed literature from PubMed and Web of Science using key terminologies related to AD and the gut microbiome. Results: Research indicates that the gut microbiota can directly or indirectly influence the occurrence and progression of AD through metabolites, endotoxins, and the vagus nerve. Discussion: This review discusses the future challenges and research directions regarding the gut microbiota in AD. Conclusion: While many unresolved issues remain regarding the gut microbiota and AD, the feasibility and immense potential of treating AD by modulating the gut microbiota are evident. Oral probiotics meet challenges during processing, storage, and gastrointestinal harsh conditions. Polysaccharide‐based hydrogels delivery system is promising in probiotic protection, but its semi‐solid and weak strength, and often requires additional cross‐links to solidify its structure. Herein a ferric ion co‐crosslinked microgel of Mesona chinensis polysaccharides and mechanically strengthened by phenolic‐metal frameworks of naturally bound brown bioactives is designed. These microgels has an intact structure in acidic condition and ruptured only at pH neutral conditions which can responsively release highly viable probiotics with high mucoadhesion and colonization. Brown bioactives are naturally bound to polysaccharides (MCPC) by hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonding, and they exhibited outstanding anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Moreover, these brown bioactives are the precise prebiotics which can specifically improve the abundance of Akkermansia genus in gut in vivo. Then, the probiotics Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK) are loaded into brown bioactives frameworks strengthened microgels. There is a more synergistic healthy benefit between MCPC components and loaded AKK compared with free and pasteurized AKK. MCPC microgels can deliver high viable AKK specifically to gut consequently modulating the microbiota balance, and protecting the intestinal barriers. Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a potent greenhouse gas, and its mitigation is a pressing task in the coming decade. However, it remains unclear which specific process between concurrent nitrification and denitrification dominates worldwide N2O emission. We snagged an opportunity to ascertain whence the N2O came and which were the controlling factors on the basis of 1315 soil N2O observations from 74 peer‐reviewed articles. The average N2O emission derived from nitrification (N2On) was higher than that from denitrification (N2Od) worldwide. The ratios of nitrification‐derived N2O to denitrification‐derived N2O, hereof N2On:N2Od, exhibited large variations across terrestrial ecosystems. Although soil carbon and nitrogen content, pH, moisture, and clay content accounted for a part of the geographical variations in the N2On:N2Od ratio, ammonia‐oxidizing microorganisms (AOM):denitrifier ratio was the pivotal driver for the N2On:N2Od ratios, since the AOM:denitrfier ratio accounted for 53.7% of geographical variations in N2On:N2Od ratios. Compared with natural ecosystems, soil pH exerted a more remarkable role to dictate the N2On:N2Od ratio in croplands. This study emphasizes the vital role of functional soil microorganisms in geographical variations of N2On:N2Od ratio and lays the foundation for the incorporation of soil AOM:denitrfier ratio into models to better predict N2On:N2Od ratio. The importance of halogen bonds (XBs) in the regulation of material properties through a variation in the electrostatic potential of the halogen atom is not attracted much attention. Herein, this study utilizes in situ single crystal X‐ray diffraction and synchrotron‐based X‐ray techniques to investigate the cooling‐triggered irreversible single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal transformation of the DMF solvated iodo‐substituted squaraine dye (SQD‐I). Transformation is observed to be mediated by solvent‐involved XB formation and strengthening of electrostatic interaction between adjacent SQD‐I molecules. By immersing a DMF solvate in acetonitrile a solvent exchange without loss of long‐range ordering is observed. This is attributed to conservation of the molecular charge distribution of SQD‐I molecules during the process. The different solvates can be used in combination for temperature‐dependent image encryption. Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) offers a sustainable strategy for producing fuels and chemicals. However, it suffers from sluggish CO2 activation and slow water dissociation. In this work, we construct a (P−O)δ− modified In catalyst that exhibits high activity and selectivity in electrochemical CO2 reduction to formate. A combination of in situ characterizations and kinetic analyses indicate that (P−O)δ− has a strong interaction with K+(H2O)n, which effectively accelerates water dissociation to provide protons. In situ attenuated total reflectance surface‐enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR‐SEIRAS) measurements together with density functional theory (DFT) calculations disclose that (P−O)δ− modification leads to a higher valence state of In active site, thus promoting CO2 activation and HCOO* formation, while inhibiting competitive hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). As a result, the (P−O)δ− modified oxide‐derived In catalyst exhibits excellent formate selectivity across a broad potential window with a formate Faradaic efficiency as high as 92.1 % at a partial current density of ~200 mA cm−2 and a cathodic potential of −1.2 V vs. RHE in an alkaline electrolyte. Polarization‐sensitive infrared photodetectors have vast application prospects in imaging systems and polarization sensors due to the addition of new detection dimensions beyond wavelength and intensity. However, most polarization‐sensitive photodetectors are operated in the visible wavelength range and still encounter challenges of limited responsivity (R) and polarization ratio (PR) under short‐wave infrared illumination. To address these issues, a vertical heterostructure of β‐In2Se3‐on‐Te is reported, achieving high‐performance and polarization‐sensitive imaging sensors in the short‐wave infrared (SWIR) region. The high R (2 A/W at 1310 nm and 0.71 A/W at 1550 nm) and specific detectivity (2.14 × 109 Jones at 1310 nm and 7.3 × 108 at 1550 nm) are obtained, which surpasses most photodetectors using anisotropic 2D material in the infrared range. Considering the strong anisotropic nature of Te nanosheets, the device exhibits notable polarization sensitivity with a PR value of 4.95 under 1310 nm laser irradiation. This work proposes a multifunctional photodetector for the great applications of ASCII code transmission and polarization‐sensitive infrared imaging, offering a new opportunity for versatile angle‐resolved optoelectronics in the infrared communication band. Summary: Seminal roots play a critical role in water and nutrient absorption, particularly in the early developmental stages of wheat. However, the genes responsible for controlling SRN in wheat remain largely unknown.Genetic mapping and functional analyses identified a candidate gene (TraesCS3D01G137200, TaSRN‐3D) encoding a Ser/Thr kinase glycogen synthase kinase 3 (STKc_GSK3) that regulated SRN in wheat. Additionally, experiments involving hormone treatment, nitrate absorption and protein interaction were conducted to explore the regulatory mechanism of TaSRN‐3D.Results showed that the TaSRN‐3D4332 allele inhibited seminal roots initiation and development, while loss‐of‐function mutants showed significantly higher seminal root number (SRN). Exogenous application of epi‐brassinolide could increase the SRN in a HS2‐allelic background. Furthermore, chlorate sensitivity and 15N uptake assays revealed that a higher number of seminal roots promoted nitrate accumulation. In the realm of flexible optoelectronic devices, intrinsic flexible fully π‐conjugated polymers (FπCPs) assume a pivotal role owing to their concurrent intrinsic viscoelasticity and robust optoelectronic properties. As flexible devices are destined to encounter diverse stress environments, the selection of functional materials based on mechanical requirements becomes imperative. Here, VPERD assessment system is introduced to scrutinize the mechanical properties of side‐chain plasticizing FπCPs. The acronym VPERD encapsulates five key aspects of mechanical characteristics, namely viscidity (V), plasticity (P), elasticity (E), rigidity (R), and ductility (D). The mechanical characteristics of FπCPs are tuned through the control of flexible chain density (FCD). Enhancing FCD induces superior chain softness, favorable solubility, and heightened viscoplasticity. Through precise regulation of FCD and thoughtful structural design, freestanding FπCPs nano‐films exhibit a remarkable maximum fracture strain of ≈50%. Deep‐blue flexible polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) reveal that maintaining FCD at ≈50% achieves a balance between mechanical and optoelectronic properties. The stretched films after strain fatigue both show that mild strain is conducive to enhancing the efficiency of FπCPs films and devices. According to VPERD assessment system, the prerequisite for achieving intrinsically flexible FπCPs lies in controlling the degree of side‐chain internal plasticization through the tuning of FCD. Summary Escherichia coli is known to easily contaminate noodles and form biofilms during noodle processing. Sheeting was a key step in the processing. The objective of our study was to investigate the influence of sheeting pressure on the viability of E. coli. Our findings revealed a significant reduction in the E. coli count (by 1.46 log CFU g−1), as well as their swimming diameter (by 46.7%) and biofilm formation (by 25.7%) following an additional 20 sheeting treatments. The expression of genes (flhC, flhD, rpoS, csgD and adrA) validated the weakening of E. coli survival due to sheeting pressure. Moreover, the alterations in dough texture properties had adverse effects on the survival of E. coli. These results highlight that sheeting pressure can effectively reduce E. coli viability in dough. ABSTRACT The development of flowers in soybean (Glycine max) is essential for determining the yield potential of the plant. Gene silencing pathways are involved in modulating flower development, but their full elucidation is still incomplete. Here, we conducted a forward genetic screen and identified an abnormal flower mutant, deformed floral bud1‐1 (Gmdfb1‐1), in soybean. We mapped and identified the causal gene, which encodes a member of the armadillo (ARM)‐repeat superfamily. Using small RNA sequencing (sRNA‐seq), we found an abnormal accumulation of small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and microRNA (miRNAs) in the Gmdfb1 mutants. We further demonstrated that GmDFB1 interacts with the RNA exosome cofactor SUPER KILLER7 (GmSKI7). Additionally, GmDFB1 interacts with the PIWI domain of ARGONAUTE 1 (GmAGO1) to inhibit the cleavage efficiency on the target genes of sRNAs. The enhanced gene silencing mediated by siRNA and miRNA in the Gmdfb1 mutants leads to the downregulation of their target genes associated with flower development. Manipulating and optimizing the room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) behavior of organic luminophores is highly desirable for exploring their extensive potential applications. However, achieving tailored and precise control over RTP emission colors remains a challenging task. Herein, three regioisomers, namely o‐Br, m‐Br, and p‐Br, are developed by directly bonding the nitrogen atom of commercial carbazole and the sulfur atom of the sulfonylbenzene group. This design not only features the bromine substitution at different positions but also leads to the formation of N─S═O resonance linkages. With the variation in position of bromine from ortho to para, the RTP color changes from yellow to red. Experimental investigations and theoretical calculations demonstrate that this color variation arises from the modulation of contributions from different canonical forms of N─S═O, which can be attributed to the regioisomerization of bromine atoms for fine‐tuning intra‐ and intermolecular interactions. Additionally, the in vitro cell imaging is successfully realized by employing red RTP nanoparticles prepared from the p‐Br luminophore. The sonodynamic activities of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) with different morphologies, gold nanospheres (GNSs), gold nanoflowers (GNFs) and gold nanorods (GNRs), were explored by multi‐spectroscopic methods, in which the lesion degree of human serum albumin (HSA) was used as assessment index. The results revealed that three GNPs all had certain sonosensitivity but varying from different morphologies. It was also found that GNPs concentration and ultrasonic parameters were all critical influencing factors of sonodynamic injury HSA. Investigating the physical damage mechanism, the results indicated that the secondary and tertiary structure of HSA were compromised by ultrasound (US) combined with GNPs, so that the conformation of HSA was altered and the function was variously disturbed due to GNPs different morphologies. Studying the chemical damage mechanism, the results discovered that the yield of singlet oxygen (1O2) produced by GNPs with various morphologies combined with US was significant difference. Therefore, comprehensively analyzing the research results under different factors, the order of sonodynamic activities of GNPs was GNSs≈GNFs>GNRs. We evaluated the quality and fertilizing ability of frozen–thawed porcine sperm that were selected using a commercially available device (MIGLIS, Menicon Life Science) consisting of three parts: an outer lid, an inner lid, and a tube. Firstly, to determine an adequate concentration of caffeine for separation, frozen–thawed sperm were incubated with different concentrations of caffeine (0, 1, 2.5, 5, and 10 mM) in a MIGLIS device. To determine the appropriate incubation time for separating sperm in the MIGLIS device, frozen–thawed sperm were incubated with 2.5 mM caffeine for 5, 10, 15, or 20 min. To evaluate the fertilization and embryo development of oocytes fertilized with frozen–thawed sperm separated into two regions (outer and inner) in the MIGLIS device, the separated sperm from the three boars was used to fertilize in vitro‐matured oocytes and cultured in vitro for 7 days. Sperm quality parameters of sperm collected from the inner tube after incubation with 2.5 mM caffeine were superior to sperm incubated without caffeine. Moreover, sperm collected from the inner tube after incubation for 10 min had a higher progressive motility. The rate of blastocyst produced from spermatozoa collected from the inner tube after incubation with 2.5 mM caffeine for 10 min significantly increased compared to that produced from spermatozoa from the outer tube, regardless of the boar. In conclusion, sperm sorting using the MIGLIS device may be useful for separating high‐quality sperm after incubation with 2.5 mM caffeine for 10 min to improve blastocyst formation. Surface structure and relevant oxygen vacancy play an important role in the application of RE2Si2O7 for environmental barrier coatings, in which the oxygen vacancies in RE2Si2O7 may influence their thermal and optical properties. In this work, the structure and thermodynamics of (0 0 1) and (1 1 0) surfaces of RE2Si2O7 (RE = Yb, Lu) are studied via first‐principles calculations to reveal the underlying mechanism of the surface formation and the associated oxygen vacancy behavior. The (1 1 0) surface is preferred energetically, being in good agreement with the experiential results. It is uncovered that the weak chemical bond broken dominates the decrease of the surface energy, together with the contribution from the polyhedral distortion. Furthermore, the [O3Si–O–SiO3] site is found to be the preferred site for oxygen vacancies on (1 1 0) surface. The formation energies of oxygen vacancies on the (1 1 0) surfaces are lower than those in the bulk, suggesting their segregation on the surfaces. These findings provide essential insights into the surface excitation and oxygen vacancy behaviors of RE2Si2O7, which could shield light on the experimental improvement of the thermal, mechanical, and corrosion properties for RE2Si2O7‐based environmental barrier coating materials. Exposure to chronic psychosocial stress is a risk factor for metabolic disorders. Because dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 (DPP4) and cysteinyl cathepsin K (CTSK) play important roles in human pathobiology, we investigated the role(s) of DPP4 in stress‐related adipocyte differentiation, with a focus on the glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP‐1)/adiponectin‐CTSK axis in vivo and in vitro. Plasma and inguinal adipose tissue from non‐stress wild‐type (DPP4+/+), DPP4‐knockout (DPP4−/−) and CTSK‐knockout (CTSK−/−) mice, and stressed DPP4+/+, DPP4−/−, CTSK−/−, and DPP4+/+ mice underwent stress exposure plus GLP‐1 receptor agonist exenatide loading for 2 weeks and then were analyzed for stress‐related biological and/or morphological alterations. On day 14 under chronic stress, stress decreased the weights of adipose tissue and resulted in harmful changes in the plasma levels of DPP4, GLP‐1, CTSK, adiponectin, and tumor necrosis factor‐α proteins and the adipose tissue levels of CTSK, preadipocyte factor‐1, fatty acid binding protein‐4, CCAAT/enhancer binding protein‐α, GLP‐1 receptor, peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor‐γ, perilipin2, secreted frizzled‐related protein‐4, Wnt5α, Wnt11 and β‐catenin proteins and/or mRNAs as well as macrophage infiltration in adipose tissue; these changes were rectified by DPP4 deletion. GLP‐1 receptor activation and CTSK deletion mimic the adipose benefits of DPP4 deficiency. In vitro, CTSK silencing and overexpression respectively prevented and facilitated stress serum and oxidative stress‐induced adipocyte differentiation accompanied with changes in the levels of pref‐1, C/EBP‐α, and PPAR‐γ in 3T3‐L1 cells. Thus, these findings indicated that increased DPP4 plays an essential role in stress‐related adipocyte differentiation, possibly through a negative regulation of GLP‐1/adiponectin‐CTSK axis activation in mice under chronic stress conditions. Recently, bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs) are promising for driving nitrate (NO3 −) reduction reaction (NO3RR) to produce ammonia (NH3) due to their multiple active sites and electron redistribution via strong metal–metal interaction. However, the quantitatively determining the atomic configuration of the active sites and revealing their respective roles in NO3RR process are still challenged. Herein, the configuration of atomically ordered PdFe3 L12 intermetallic NPs into mesoporous carbon nanofibers (O‐PdFe3‐mCNFs) is reported as an efficient NO3RR catalyst for NH3 synthesis. Compared to the face‐centered cubic one, the O‐PdFe3‐mCNFs demonstrate a high NO3− removal of 98.3% within 270 min with a large NH3 yield rate of 1014.2 µmol h−1 cm−2. The detailed in situ and theoretical analysis reveals that the high performance of O‐PdFe3‐mCNFs is attributed to the synergetic effect from the periodic adjacent Pd‐Fe pair sites at the ordered (110) facet via accelerating proton relay, where the Fe sites show preferable stabilization of nitrogen−oxygen (*NO) intermediates while Pd sites serve as proton reservoir for *NO hydrogenation. Moreover, the strong d‐d orbital hybridization tunes d‐band center of the alloy NPs and effectively modulates the adsorption energy of *NO3− and *NO. There is tremendous interest in the development of highly wear‐resistant coatings for metallic materials to reduce energy loss and prolong service life. In this study, the authors propose an approach to develop nanocomposite coatings featuring deformable nanocrystals embedded in amorphous matrix for self‐lubrication and superior wear resistance. The dual‐layered nanocomposite coatings are prepared by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) on a Ti‐Nb‐Ta‐Zr‐Hf (TNZTH) refractory multi‐principal element alloy (RMPEA) and commercially pure Ti (cpTi). The inner layers of PEO coatings are composed of substrate element oxides (amorphous TNZTH─O oxide or anatase TiO2), while their outer layers exhibit typical nanocomposite structures. Different from the cpTi‐based PEO coating outer layers composed of brittle rutile TiO2 nanoparticles dispersed in an amorphous matrix of SiO2 and Na2O·nSiO2, the outer layers of TNZTH‐based PEO coatings are featured by deformable Na2Zr(Hf)O3 nanocrystals heterogeneously embedded in an inhomogeneous amorphous matrix composed of TNZTH─O oxide, SiO2, and Na2O·nSiO2. As a result, the TNZTH‐based PEO coatings exhibit favorable self‐lubricating performance and superior wear resistance, while the cpTi‐based PEO coatings are completely destroyed after sliding wear. Near‐infrared (NIR) phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diodes (pc‐LEDs) are considered as promising next‐generation light sources for optoelectronic and biomedical applications. Nevertheless, NIR phosphors with large bandwidths, long emission peaks, high external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) and valuable thermal stabilities are challenging to develop. Herein, this study reports a novel gallium germanate host, Ga3Al3Ge2O13 (GAGO), with a large bandgap and rigid host lattice for Cr3+ ion doping. The blue LED excitable GAGO:0.012Cr3+ phosphor can produce broadband NIR emission with a maximum intensity at 816 nm and a full‐width at half‐maximum (FWHM) of 187 nm. Notably, the phosphor also exhibits an excellent EQE of 35.8% and perfect thermal stability (I423 K/I298 K = 67.4%). Moreover, an attractive NIR afterglow duration of more than 24 h is achieved in the GAGO:0.004Cr3+ phosphor. The type and origin of the traps are discussed, and a possible long persistent luminescent (LPL) mechanism is proposed. Finally, an NIR pc‐LED based on a GAGO:0.012Cr3+ phosphor is fabricated. The results demonstrate that the obtained phosphors show great potential for use in night vision, nondestructive detection, bioimaging and information encryption. This study provides new insight into the development of broadband NIR luminescent materials with high efficiency, good thermal stability and extraordinary afterglow performance. Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) provides a renewable approach to transform CO2 to produce chemicals and fuels. Unfortunately, it faces the challenges of sluggish CO2 activation and slow water dissociation. This study reports the modification of Bi‐based electrocatalyst by S, which leads to a remarkable enhancement in activity and selectivity during electrochemical CO2 reduction to formate. Based on comprehensive in situ examinations and kinetic evaluations, it is observed that the presence of S species over Bi catalyst can significantly enhance its interaction with K+(H2O)n, facilitating fast dissociation of water molecules to generate protons. Further in situ attenuated total reflectance surface‐enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR‐SEIRAS) and in situ Raman spectroscopy measurements reveal that S modification is able to decrease the oxidation state of Bi active site, which can effectively enhance CO2 activation and facilitate HCOO* intermediate formation while suppressing competing hydrogen evolution reaction. Consequently, the S‐modified Bi catalyst achieves impressive electrochemical CO2RR performance, reaching a formate Faradaic efficiency (FEformate) of 91.2% at a formate partial current density of ≈135 mA cm−2 and a potential of −0.8 V versus RHE in an alkaline electrolyte. With the miniaturization, high frequency of electronic devices, and low‐carbon and sustainable development, higher requirements are put forward for thermal conductive polyurethane composites in terms of comprehensive performance and renewable raw materials. Herein, choosing bio‐based polyurethane (PU) derived from castor oil as matrix, and liquid metal (LM) and aluminum hydroxide (ATH) as hybrid thermal conductive filler, castor oil‐based PU composites were developed via high‐speed rotation and in‐situ polymerization method. The LM‐ATH hybrid filler displayed a synergistic enhancement effect on the thermal conductivity of composites due to the presence of LM‐bridging significantly improved the effective contact probability between ATH fillers. The thermal conductivity of 50LM‐ATH/PU reached 1.69 Wm−1 K−1, which was 9.9 times and 1.4 times higher than that of pure PU and 50ATH/PU, respectively. Notably, the 50LM‐ATH/PU exhibited outstanding mechanical properties including tensile strength up to 4.0 MPa and adhesion strength up to 7.9 MPa, especially elongation at break up to 120% which was improved by 200% compared with 50ATH/PU (40%). Additionally, the composite possessed excellent electric insulation, thermal stability, and inflaming retarding properties, showing great application potential in the electronic devices field. Most seismic data used for conventional exploration lack far‐offset signals and effective low‐frequency components. This makes it difficult for conventional full waveform inversion methods to recover the low‐wavenumber components of mid‐ and deep‐layer models. To resolve the bottleneck of ray‐theoretical reflection traveltime tomography, wave equations, such as reflection inversion methods, are receiving increasing attention. We reconstructed a wide‐spectrum velocity model based on the multiscale wave‐equation reflection inversion method for model decomposition. First, using the dynamic image warping method to obtain reflection traveltime residuals, the wave‐equation reflection traveltime inversion was used to recover the low‐wavenumber components of the background model, which also solved the cycle‐skipping problem. Second, the medium‐wavenumber component of the model is then supplemented by the reflection waveform inversion, while the reflectivity model is obtained relying on the least‐squares reverse time migration method. Based on this method, the background and perturbation models are updated alternately and iteratively. At the same time, the stratum structural tensor information was extracted using the perturbed model image to construct a preconditioned operator for the stratum structural constraint, suppress unreasonably high‐wavenumber components in the generalized gradient and improve the geological consistency of the inversion results. Testing of the model using the Sigsbee2b model and seismic field data from the East China Sea showed that, compared with the conventional reflection traveltime tomography method based on prestack depth migration, the wave‐equation reflection inversion strategy with well‐matched information from traveltimes to waveforms significantly improved the accuracy of the middle and deep velocity modelling and enhanced the imaging quality of the whole body. BACKGROUND: It is reported that anti‐enterovirus 71 (EV71) drugs have some side effects on human health. Notably, fungi plays a crucial role in promoting human health and anti‐virus. Grifola frondosa is a type of large medicinal and edible fungi, rich in active substances. The present study aimed to investigate the anti‐EV71 effect of G. frondosa and the potential active substances. RESULTS: In the present study, the water extract of G. frondosa was subjected to ethanol precipitation to obtain the water‐extracted supernatant of G. frondosa (GFWS) and water‐extracted precipitation of G. frondosa. Their inhibitory effects on EV71 virus were studied based on a cell model. The results showed that GFWS had stronger security and anti‐EV71 effects. In addition, the chemical constituents of GFWS were identified by ultra‐high performance liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry, which were selected for further separation and purification. Three compounds, N‐butylaniline, succinic acid and l‐tryptophan, were isolated from GFWS by NMR spectroscopy. It is noteworthy that N‐butylaniline and l‐tryptophan were isolated and identified from the G. frondosa fruiting bodies for the first time. Our study found that l‐tryptophan has anti‐EV71 virus activity, which reduced EV71‐induced apoptosis and significantly inhibited the replication process after virus adsorption. Furthermore, it could also bind to capsid protein VP1 to prevent the virus from attaching to the cells. Summary: Soybean is a short‐day plant that typically flowers earlier when exposed to short‐day conditions. However, the identification of genes associated with earlier flowering time but without a yield penalty is rare. In this study, we conducted genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) using two re‐sequencing datasets that included 113 wild soybeans (G. soja) and 1192 cultivated soybeans (G. max), respectively, and simultaneously identified a candidate flowering gene, qFT13‐3, which encodes a protein homologous to the pseudo‐response regulator (PRR) transcription factor. We identified four major haplotypes of qFT13‐3 in the natural population, with haplotype H4 (qFT13‐3H4) being lost during domestication, while qFT13‐3H1 underwent natural and artificial selection, increasing in proportion from 4.5% in G. soja to 43.8% in landrace and to 81.9% in improve cultivars. Notably, most cultivars harbouring qFT13‐3H1 were located in high‐latitude regions. Knockout of qFT13‐3 accelerated flowering and maturity time under long‐day conditions, indicating that qFT13‐3 functions as a flowering inhibitor. Our results also showed that qFT13‐3 directly downregulates the expression of GmELF3b‐2 which is a component of the circadian clock evening complex. Field trials revealed that the qft13‐3 mutants shorten the maturity period by 11 days without a concomitant penalty on yield. Collectively, qFT13‐3 can be utilized for the breeding of high‐yield cultivars with a short maturity time suitable for high latitudes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
