This paper studies the optimization design of capillary heat exchangers and their innovative engineering applications in buildings. The purpose of this study is to use a capillary heat exchanger as the front-end device of the heat pump in coastal areas to extract energy to facilitate the application of renewable energy in buildings. Firstly, in this paper, the main factors of capillary heat transfer efficiency were explored in areas near the coast. Secondly, for the sake of improve the heat transfer efficiency of the capillary heat exchanger, numerical calculations were carried out on the heat transfer of the capillary in the case of inconsistent operating patterns in the summer and winter months, respectively. The results showed that when the daily working time of the capillary heat exchanger was 8 hours, the temperature difference of the capillary inlet and outlet was 2.1 ℃. And the heat transfer rate was 87.1 W/m² . In summer, the temperature difference of the capillary inlet and outlet was 2.6 ℃. And the heat transfer rate was 107.8 W/m² . This article helps to promote innovative and sustainable technologies in coastland development, such as capillary heat exchangers and heat pumps, which could used in renewable energy extraction and building utilization in near coastal areas. The performance of the Plate Indirect Evaporative Cooler (PIEC) can be effectively improved by incorporating baffles in the dry channel. However, in the dimensional influence of the baffles on PIEC performance there remains a research gap. In order to investigate the impact of baffle dimensions on the wet bulb efficiency, namely the average heat transfer coefficient and the cooling capacity of the PIEC, this paper proposed and verified a three-dimensional numerical model and method based on the species transport model and the Euler wall film model. At the same time, in order to obtain the equilibrium point between the enhanced heat transfer performance and the additional resistance induced by baffles, a comprehensive performance evaluation index is introduced. The results indicate that, under the same conditions, (1) the baffle effect on PIEC performance is significant at a lower inlet air velocity, and the wet bulb efficiency of the PIEC with baffles can be improved by 22.8%; (2) the baffle effect on PIEC performance is negative if its relative length exceeds 60% or the primary air inlet velocity surpasses 4 m/s under the conditions specified in this paper; and (3) the baffle effect on PIEC performance is significant when its channel height is lower and its channel width is larger, and the wet bulb efficiency of the PIEC with baffles can be improved by 29.3%. The building envelope is the interface between the external atmospheric conditions and the indoor environment. It contributes to approximately 60%-70% of the heating and cooling load. The building envelope constitutes walls, fenestrations, and roofs from which thermal transfer from the roof is significantly very high compared to walls in low-rise buildings. This research paper aims to provide recommendations for energy-efficient roof design considering roof form, material, and external coating suitable for various climate conditions of India. The paper's methodology consists of a literature review of related research papers, learnings from the roofing system of energy-efficient building case studies, and all possible energy-efficient roofing systems that would be simulated for energy efficiency and thermal comfort in five climate types of India. The expected outcome of this paper would be in the form of recommendations for roofing systems in different climate type and their potential for energy saving from the highest to the lowest. This research would be done in three stages viz, Step-1: Literature Review and case study of best practices: A review of the related literature and best practices examples would be done to formulate the maximum possible cases for the simulation. Step-2: The roofing systems, including building form, material (Thermal and insulation), and finishes (reflectance), would be simulated one by one for various climate types of India (composite, hot & dry, warm and humid, moderate and cold) to optimize energy efficiency and payback period. Step-3: Special roof types like Green roofs, cool roofs, Photovoltaic roofs, roof ponds, and the like are simulated and compared for their effectiveness in selected climate types. Based on the literature review, simulation results, and analysis, the recommendations are framed for energy-efficient roofing systems in the selected climate type with respect to heat transfer through the roof and thermal comfort. This paper considers a temperature-dependent thermal conductivity with memory property in a fractal space. The two-scale fractal derivative is adopted to model the temperature field in the spatial dimensions, and Caputo fractional derivative is used to describe its memory property. The variational iteration method is employed to solve the mixed model with great success. Due to environmental concerns, natural refrigerants and their use in refrigeration and air conditioning systems are receiving more attention from manufacturers, end users and the scientific community. The study of heat transfer and pressure drop is essential for accurate design and more energy efficient cycles using natural refrigerants. The aim of this work is to provide an overview of the latest outcomes related to heat transfer and pressure drop correlations for ammonia, propane, isobutane and propylene and to investigate the current state of the art in terms of operating conditions. Available data on the existing correlations between heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops for natural refrigerants have been collected through a systematic search. Whenever possible, validity intervals are given for each correlation, and the error is quantified. It is the intention of the authors that this paper be a valuable support for researchers and an aid to design, with particular reference to heat pumps. A procedure based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement was adopted, and the Scopus database was used to query the relevant literature. A total of 135 publications qualified for inclusion in the survey; 34 articles report experimental investigations for unusual geometric conditions. Of the 101 selected papers related to usual geometric conditions, N = 50 deal only with HTC, N = 16 deal only with pressure drop and the remainder (N = 35) analyse both HTC and pressure drop. Among the 85 HTC papers, N = 53 deal with the evaporating condition, N = 30 with condensation and only N = 2 with the heat transfer correlations under both conditions. This paper introduces a novel design for a solar photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) air collector that utilizes staggered fins. The collector features double-layer flow channels in the same direction, with the upper channel equipped with transparent wave plates, and the lower channel fitted with staggered fins. The paper includes a calculation scheme for wave plate heat balance. The numerical model of the collector is established and verified by experimental results. A numerical model is used to analyze the height combination of the upper and lower runner and the fin arrangement of the lower runner. The results indicate that, under the given environmental parameters, as the PV panel moves down, the overall air heat transfer capacity decreases. When the height combination of the upper/lower runner is 23 mm/105 mm, the maximum value is 53.741%. With the increase of fin spacing, the heat transfer capacity of the lower runner decreases. With the increase of the number of fin rows, the heat transfer capacity of the lower runner increases. When the equivalent diameter of the rectangular channel and the number of fin rows were 70 mm and 3 rows, respectively, the maximum solar energy comprehensive utilization efficiency was 56.261%. This paper proposes a heat demand prediction model that analyzes the heat behavior of heat users, and analyzes the heat behavior data of heat users through a clustering algorithm to predict their heat demand. This paper is based on the supply-demand balance strategy to reduce the heat loss during the transmission of heat medium, and then improve the energy-saving efficiency of the boiler. The traditional boiler energy-saving and consumption reduction method is to optimize the boiler combustion parameters, improve the fuel combustion efficiency and waste heat recovery technology through the Internet of Things and big data technology. The method of balancing the heat-using end with the load of the boiler at low usage frequency is seldom considered. Therefore, this paper predicts the heat demand of the heat-using end by analyzing its thermal behavior, and balances the heat demand and boiler heat supply under the condition of meeting the heat demand. This paper presents the results of numerical simulations of heat transfer in a tube with a protective chromium layer on the inner surface made of steel, with different shrinkage temperatures. Shrinkage in the steel is an unfavorable phenomenon because it causes cracks in the chrome coating. The cracks contribute to the peeling of the protective material on the inner surface of the tube. Wear and damage to the chrome layer significantly shortens the tube's service life. The influence of the type of steel with medium carbon content on heat transfer for a sequence of ten, thirty, and sixty heat impulses was examined. Simulations were carried out for two selected steels with clearly different shrinkage temperatures, i.e., 30HN2MFA and X37CrMoV5-1 (1.2343). In 30HN2MFA steel, the shrinkage effect occurred at a temperature of approx. 750 °C, while in X37CrMoV5-1 steel it occurred at a temperature of approx. 870 °C. In the computational model, 30 cross-sections of the three-meter-long tube were analyzed. A time-dependent heat transfer coefficient was calculated in each zone. Heat transfer simulations were carried out using COMSOL version 6.1 software. This paper shows that for X37CrMoV5-1 steel, the shrinkage temperature on the inner surface of the tube was reached after approx. 60 heat impulses, while for 30HN2MFA steel, it was reached after approx. 30. This paper presents a simulation model for a system equipped with thermoelectric elements, considering the impact of independent thermal contact resistances on each side of the module. An analytical model was constructed, taking into account the asymmetry of thermal resistances between the generator/cooler and the respective heat source/heat sink. A comparative analysis of thermoelectric device operating indicators such as conducted heat, efficiency, and the electricity/cooling power produced was performed. The selection of electrical current in the circuit was analysed based on the maximization of power or efficiency. This paper discusses deviations from ideal conditions, specifically the absence of thermal resistance between the heat source/sink and the thermoelectric junction. The model accurately simulates the operating conditions of the thermoelectric system with a low computational cost. The results indicate that the total thermal resistance, rather than its location, predominantly affects the operation of the thermoelectric generator. In the integrated circuit industry, heat is transferred through the contact between wafers and the chemical vapor deposited (CVD) 3C–SiC wafer susceptor. Understanding the out-plane thermal conductivity of CVD 3C–SiC is crucial in this context. The influence of grain size and grain boundary characteristics on out-plane thermal conductivity for <111>-oriented CVD 3C–SiC was discussed in this study. The out-plane thermal conductivity sharply decreases from 146.4 W/m⸱K to 122.3 W/m⸱K when the grain size approaches 11.04 μm. This paper suggests that the significant accumulation of dislocations at high-angle grain boundaries is the primary cause of this phenomenon. The substantial lattice strain impedes phonon transfer between grain boundaries, reducing overall phonon mobility. These findings suggest that manipulating the grain boundary angle is an effective means to fine-tune heat transfer in <111>-oriented CVD 3C–SiC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we propose a second-order adaptive DLN algorithm with different subdomain variable time steps for the 3D closed-loop geothermal system. Theoretically, the stability and convergence of the algorithm in the case of variable time steps are analyzed. In numerical experiments, the DLN algorithm is combined with an adaptive algorithm to verify not only its effectiveness and second-order convergence under any arbitrary sequence of time steps but also to improve computational efficiency. We overcome the difficulty of 3D programming, and verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed algorithm by simulating the flow characteristics and heat transfer of the closed-loop geothermal system with 3D convection. Borophene nanosheets appear in various sizes and shapes, ranging from simple planar structures to complicated polyhedral formations. Due to their unique chemical, optical, and electrical properties, Borophene nanosheets are theoretically and practically attractive and because of their high thermal conductivity, boron nanosheets are suitable for efficient heat transmission applications. In this paper, temperature indices of borophene nanosheets are computed and these indices are employed in QSPR analysis of attributes like Young's modulus, Shear modulus, and Poisson's ratio of borophene nanosheets and borophene β12 sheets. The regression model for the F-Temperature index is discovered to be the best fit for shear modulus, the reciprocal product connectivity temperature index is discovered to be fit for Poisson's ratio and the second hyper temperature index is discovered to be fit for Young's modulus based on the correlation coefficient. Natural convection in a square porous cavity with a partial magnetic field is investigated in this work. The magnetic field enters a part of the left wall horizontally. The horizontal walls of the cavity are thermally insulated. The wave vertical wall on the right side is at a low temperature, while the left wall is at a high temperature. The Brinkman-Forchheimer-extended Darcy equation of motion is utilized in the construction of the fluid flow model for the porous media. The Finite Element Method (FEM) was used to solve the problem's governing equations, and the current study was validated by comparing it to earlier research. On streamlines, isotherms, and Nusselt numbers, changes in the partial magnetic field length, Hartmann number, Rayleigh number, Darcy number, and number of wall waves have been examined. This paper will show that the magnetic field negatively impacts heat transmission. This suggests that the magnetic field can control heat transfer and fluid movement. The DIGIT experiment was launched at the Tournemire Underground Research Laboratory URL with the aim of determining the effects of temperature on the transfer of analogues of most mobile radionuclides (i.e., 36Cl, 129I and 79Se) in the Toarcian clay rock, the properties of which are close to host rocks being considered for future deep geological disposal of high-level (HL) radioactive wastes. The experimental principle involves the monitoring of an exchange between a test water traced with stable halides and deuterium at constant concentration and the porewater of the Toarcian clay rock submitted to various temperatures. This experiment seeks to partially address questions regarding the potential spread of contaminants during the thermal phase of High Level Waste (HLW) waste packages. Specifically, the in situ experiment aims to evaluate the role of scale effects and thermodiffusion, a process that combines Fick's law and the Soret effect, in the transfer of radionuclides. This paper presents the first steps of the study, including the scoping calculations, the experimental set-up and the first results obtained during the unheated phase. The study started with the acquisition of the initial parameters, including the rock thermal properties, the concentrations of the four tracers (chloride, bromide, iodide and deuterium) naturally present in the clay porewater and their diffusive transport parameters by using four diffusion exchange techniques (phase 0). A model coupling heat and mass transfers was then developed using Comsol Multiphysics®, integrating data acquired so far with existing literature data. A test water with a tracer concentration around 1000 times higher than those in the pore water was proposed with a temperature imposed at the test section wall of 70 °C. A large test zone of 50 cm height and 1 m in diameter and installed in a 3 m deep vertical well located in a sound zone at the URL was then proposed. The installation of the experiments required the realization of one shaft and of nine peripheral boreholes for the monitoring of temperature, water pressure and deformation. The experiment started with phase 1, involving a traced, unheated water start-up for a period of 5 months. Then, a core sampling was conducted in the emptied well, and the same diffusion exchange techniques were applied. The results of anionic tracers were compared to simulations based on initial parameters (phase 0), revealing that tracer penetration at the end of phase 1 exceeded simulated values by approximately 2 cm. This result is interpreted as an increase in the accessible porosity to tracers, possibly due to the excavation damaged zone. Future simulations should incorporate these adjusted diffusive transport parameters. Following phase 1, the heating system was activated, applying a temperature of 70 °C to the test zone. This paper presents a preliminary study of a novel type of turbulizers based on the jet pump working principle and designed to intensify heat transfer in double-tube heat exchangers. To determine the potential for their use, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and realizable k-ε turbulence model were applied to four turbulizers differing in the angles and diameters of the nozzle and diffuser. During studies, a number of parameters were determined, including: (i) Euler number Eu, (ii) overall heat transfer coefficient kT and (iii) reduced ratio of heat duty to mechanical power 𝜀r; and then compared with data available for strip turbulizers. The tests yielded the following maximum values of: Eu - 1.5 times higher, kT - 2 times higher, and 𝜀𝑟 - 27 times higher than those obtained by classical strip turbulizers, which indicates the high potential of presented jet pump turbulizers and justifies their further development. Plasma spraying technology, known for its efficient surface enhancement capabilities, has been widely applied in aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and power generation. Ironbased coatings, due to their superior mechanical properties and wear resistance, have become important materials in these fields. However, under extreme working conditions such as high temperatures, high speeds, and heavy loads, the thermal conductivity of the coating directly affects its service life and stability. Therefore, studying the thermal conductivity of plasma-sprayed iron-based coatings is of great significance. Currently, research on the thermal properties of plasma-sprayed coatings primarily focuses on the surface thermal conductivity, neglecting the complex coupled heat transfer mechanisms within the coating. Moreover, existing research methods often rely on empirical formulas or simplified models, making it challenging to comprehensively reflect the thermal conductivity behavior under actual working conditions. This is especially true in hightemperature and high-pressure environments where the limitations of these methods are more pronounced. This paper establishes a coupled heat transfer model for plasma-sprayed iron-based coatings to explore their thermal conductivity under different working conditions. The study comprises three parts: first, the mathematical derivation of the coupled heat transfer model within the plasma-sprayed iron-based coating; second, the determination of conduction boundary conditions and the calculation of heat transfer coefficients; third, the simulation results of the thermal conductivity characteristics of the plasma-sprayed iron-based coating. The Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems of the Italian National Research Council (Italy) has designed and fabricated a water-fed MEMS vaporizing liquid microthruster (VLM) in collaboration with the University of Salento (Italy) and KU Leuven (Belgium). Previous studies have demonstrated the device's functioning and highlighted the presence of a strong thermoelectric-hydraulic coupling that severely affects the heating and propulsive efficiencies and reliability of the device. In this regard, the current work provides a preliminary experimental investigation of a pulsed heating system actively controlled by temperature using PI-D logic (proportional and integrative actions applied to the error; derivative action applied to the output). The overall performance assessment focuses on evaluating power consumption during steady-state operation and analyzing the dynamic response of the VLM undergoing such an actively controlled pulsed heating, which has been built using both manual and data-driven offline adaptive tuning of the PID parameters. Concerning the steady-state operation, results highlight a promising enhancement of the heating efficiency to values above 0.9. The dynamic response analysis shows that operating with a single set of fixed PID parameters is not feasible and that the manual tuning is a trial-and-error approach highly dependent on the operator's experience, operating conditions, and reference temperature profile. Furthermore, shorter rise and response times require a higher proportional gain, and the overshoot experienced when crossing the saturation temperature cannot be avoided. The aim of this paper is to propose an efficient numerical scheme to deal with heat transfer problems in pipe flow with a large length/diameter ratio. The generalized finite difference method (GFDM) is combined with a space stepping algorithm (SSA) for the solution. The SSA divides the solution domain into a number of overlapping sections in the length direction of the pipe. Due to the large Peclet number, the heat transport process is dominated by advection, which allows an approximate boundary condition to be applied at the downstream cross section. The problem is then solved section by section. Using the uniform distributed points, the solution matrix for each section does not change, and only the right hand side needs to be refreshed for the changing boundary conditions. This leads to a highly efficient scheme for problems with a large pipe length. To show the accuracy of the numerical scheme, a problem with available analytical solution is studied. Then the method is applied to problems of single pipe with different pipe wall temperature and flow Reynolds number, and concentric annular pipe. Numerical results confirm the stability and efficiency of the GFDM-SSA. The method can be applied to many real world transient heat transfer problems in which the pipe is heated or cooled along its length with arbitrary wall temperature for heat exchange and other purposes. In this paper, the rotational pressure-correction schemes for the closed-loop geothermal system are developed and analyzed. The primary benefit of this projection method is to replace the incompressible condition. The system is considered consisting of two distinct regions, with the free flow region governed by the Navier–Stokes equations and the porous media region governed by Darcy’s law. At the same time, the heat equations are coupled with the flow equations to describe the heat transfer in both regions. In the closed-loop geothermal system, the rotational pressure-correction schemes are used for the Navier–Stokes equations in the free flow region, and the direct decoupled scheme is used for the other equations. Besides, the stability of the proposed methods is proved. Finally, the high efficiency and applicability of the decoupled scheme are verified by 2D/3D numerical experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Indirect evaporative coolers (IECs) for air conditioning rely on liquid water being sprayed into the exhaust stream of used air to induce evaporation and cool down the incoming stream of fresh air in an indirect heat exchanger. This paper describes a computational fluid dynamics analysis that makes use of the particle transport model to simulate the evaporation of the water droplets at the exhaust side of an IEC using a pre-implemented spray dryer model. Critical parameters include the average size of the droplets and the amount of water sprayed into the system. In addition to droplet evaporation, the evaporation of water from the wet wall on the exhaust side is accounted for. The results show the calculated temperature field in both air streams, the pressure distribution, the relative humidity distribution at the exhaust side and the particle tracks. The predicted wet bulb efficiency of around 30–35% is moderate but in agreement with the literature to date, and it can be attributed to the small heat exchanger size. A parametric study investigated the effect of the droplet size and mass flow rate. At an average size of 50 microns and below, the effect of the mass flow rate is quite strong, while at a higher droplet size the mass flow effect is small. The low thermal conductivity of phase change materials restricts their application fields such as thermal storage and electronic equipment cooling. In order to enhance the heat charging capacity of the phase change unit, fractal fins inspired by plant leaves were designed and manufactured. The changes in the solid–liquid interface, temperature distribution and liquid fraction in the phase change units with fractal fins during melting were investigated experimentally and compared units with the conventional rectangular fin. The results show that fractal fins have better heat transfer enhancement effects than rectangular fins because the enhancement of heat conduction exceeds the suppression of natural convection. Increasing the number of fins can also shorten the melting time and make the temperature distribution more uniform. Compared with the one rectangular fin unit, the full melting time of the unit with three fractal fins is reduced by 17.07%, and the bottom surface temperature is reduced by 27.47%. However, increasing the number of fins while using tree-like fractal fins may cause the fins to inhibit natural convection more than enhance heat conduction. Accurately predicting the thermal characteristics and heat transfer distribution of the rotating detonation engine (RDE) and acquiring a clear understanding of the performance and mechanism of the rotating detonation are of great significance for achieving the safe and reliable long-duration operation of RDEs. Using RP-3 as fuel, a long-duration experimental study is performed on a 220 mm-diameter RDC to investigate the details with respect to the thermal environment. The heat flux at the typical location and the average heat flux of both the inner and outer cylinders are measured, respectively. Meanwhile, the peak pressure of the rotating detonation wave (RDW) and specific thrust are analyzed. When the ER is between 0.5 and 1 (oxidizer 2 kg/s), the stable rotating detonation mode is obtained, and the detonation duration is set as 40 s to accurately calculate the heat released by the detonation combustion. The heat flux in the upstream region of the RDW location ranges from 2.40 × 105 W/m2 to 3.17 × 105 W/m2, and the heat flux in the downstream area of the RDW location ranges from 1.05 × 106 W/m2 to 1.28 × 106 W/m2. The results demonstrate the important role of the detonation combustion zone, and the thrust performance of RDC can be improved by making the RDW move forward along the RDC axis, which is the optimal direction of detonation combustion. Through a comparison of average heat flux under different conditions, it is found that the heat released by the RDC is directly related to its thrust. In addition, the average heat flux of the inner cylinder is about three times that of the outer cylinder for the two-phase RDC with a Tesla valve intake structure, indicating that the high-temperature combustion product is closer to the inner wall. Therefore, more thermal protection should be allocated to the inner cylinder, and a more systematic analysis of the two-phase flow field distribution in the annular combustion chamber should be carried out to improve the thrust performance. In this paper, the average heat flux of the inner and outer cylinders of the RDC as well as the typical local heat flux of the outer cylinders is quantitatively measured by means of experiments, which not only deepens the understanding of RDC flow field distribution, but also provides quantitative boundary conditions for the thermal protection design of RDCs. In this paper, a comprehensive analysis of the combined effect of major influencing parameters on heat transfer in a single U-tube BHE (sBHE) and a double U-tube BHE (dBHE) with two independent circuits was performed by using a validated numerical heat transfer model. Geometrical parameters, such as shank spacing (with maximum, average, and minimum values), borehole diameter (large, medium, and small borehole sizes), and borehole depth (shallow, average, and deep borehole depths) as well as the thermal conductivity of soil and grout, which ranges from minimum to high values, were considered. The combined impact of these parameters was included under the following four major cases: (1) the combined effect of borehole depth, borehole size, and shank spacing; (2) the combined effect of borehole depth and soil and grout thermal conductivity; (3) the combined effect of soil and grout thermal conductivity and borehole size; and (4) the combined effect of soil thermal conductivity, borehole size, and shank spacing. Each of these major cases has nine different design options for both sBHEs and dBHEs. A series of results of heat transfer per unit borehole depth were generated for all the considered various cases. Cement-based materials encompass a broad spectrum of construction materials that utilize cement as the primary binding agent. Among these materials, concrete stands out as the most commonly employed. The cement, which is the principal constituent of these materials, undergoes a hydration reaction with water, playing a crucial role in the formation of the hardened composite. However, the exothermic nature of this reaction leads to significant temperature rise within the concrete elements, particularly during the early stages of hardening and in structures of substantial thickness. This temperature rise underscores the critical importance of predictive modeling in this domain. This paper presents a review of modeling approaches designed to predict temperature and accompanying moisture fields during concrete hardening, examining different levels of modeling accuracy and essential input parameters. While modern commercial finite element method (FEM) software programs are available for simulating thermal and moisture fields in concrete, they are accompanied by inherent limitations that engineers must know. A novel analysis of the pulsatile nano-blood flow through a sinusoidal wavy channel, emphasizing the significance of diverse influences in the modelling, is investigated in this paper. This study examines the collective effects of slip boundary conditions, magnetic field, porosity, channel waviness, nanoparticle concentration, and heat source on nano-blood flow in a two-dimensional wavy channel. In contrast to prior research that assumed a constant pulsatile pressure gradient during channel waviness, this innovative study introduces a variable pressure gradient that significantly influences several associated parameters. The mathematical model characterising nano-blood flow in a horizontally wavy channel is solved using the perturbation technique. Analytical solutions for fundamental variables such as stream function, velocity, wall shear stress, pressure gradient, and temperature are visually depicted across different physical parameter values. The findings obtained for various parameter values in the given problem demonstrate a significant influence of the amplitude ratio parameter of channel waviness, Hartmann number of the magnetic field, permeability parameter of the porous medium, Knudsen number due to the slip boundary, volume fraction of nanoparticles, radiation parameter, Prandtl number, and heat source parameters on the flow dynamics. The simulations provide valuable insights into the decrease in velocity with increasing magnetic field and its increase with increasing permeability and slip parameters. A general strategy is proposed to solve the problem of efficient and controlled removal of droplets from solid surfaces. Droplet departure size on magnetic responsive polydimethylsiloxane superhydrophobic microplates (MPSM) was significantly reduced compared to the static structure, resulting in a 60% increase in the efficiency of fog collection at 15 min to meet a wide range of fields. However, droplets removal on common surfaces with static structures often occurs passively, which limits the possibility of increasing removal efficiency and lacks intelligent controllability. In this paper, an active strategy based on extrusion ejection is proposed and demonstrated on the magnetic responsive polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) superhydrophobic microplates (MPSM). The MPSM can reversibly transit between the upright and tilted state as the external magnetic field is alternately applied and removed. Under the magnetic field, the direction and trajectories of droplets departure can be intelligently controlled, demonstrating excellent controllability. More importantly, compared with the static structure where the droplet must reach a certain size before departure, droplets can be ejected at smaller sizes as the MPSM is tilted. These advantages are of great significance in many fields, such as a highly efficient fog harvesting system. This paper presents an experimental investigation conducted to determine the influence of parameters such as the ambient temperature, pollution level, and substrate material on the formation of dry bands on polluted layers. To investigate these parameters, we applied a simplified insulator geometry, developed in our previous work, to experimentally control the complex process of dry band formation on a polluted surface. The simple geometry of the experimental model enabled the use of Plexiglas, RTV, and glass as construction substrate materials. RTV and glass were used to simulate a composite and ceramic insulator surface, respectively. Moreover, an electrooptic (EO) probe enabled the measurement of the axial E-field evolution at the surface of the dry band during dry band formation. The results indicated that the substrate material, ambient temperature, and pollution level substantially influence dry band formation. The effects of the first two parameters are directly associated with heat transfer phenomena in the substrate material and at the ambient air/substrate interface. The effect of the third parameter is associated with absorption and evaporation of the pollution layer. In addition, the appearance of the dry band can be clearly identified by a rapid increase in both the pollution layer resistance and the axial E-field in the dry band area. The value of the axial E-field is influenced primarily by the width of the dry band and by the pollution layer resistance, which is directly dependent on the humidification duration. Finally, because most of the results obtained herein were in accordance with those in the literature, we conclude that the proposed experimental model may provide an effective and inexpensive testing method for developing new materials and solutions for improving the dielectric performance of insulators used in polluted environments. Similarly, the simple geometry of the experimental model and the ability to easily control the experimental parameters may enable this tool to validate the results of various numerical models in studies of the thermoelectrical behavior of polluted insulators. The performance of lithium-ion batteries is greatly influenced by various factors within their operating environment, which can significantly impact their overall efficiency and effectiveness. In this paper, a multi-physics field electrochemical thermal model is established to measure the physical parameters of a battery module during the charge/discharge process. The effects of working temperature, current rate, and convective heat transfer coefficient are investigated by establishing an electrochemical and thermal model. The results are obtained by conducting numerous parameterized scans to analyze the system's state across various operating conditions, enabling the determination of its temperature and the selection of appropriate cooling measures accordingly. Based on the internal and external conditions of battery operation, parameter selection corresponding to the operating range is divided into several stages, with thermal management strategies provided for each stage. The existing framework facilitates the design of battery packs equipped with efficient thermal management strategies, thereby enhancing the battery systems' reliability and performance. This paper deals with the design of porous geometry of a heat transfer element. The proposed geometry combines a gyroid triply periodic minimal surface with the recursive principle of geometric body creation. The designed geometry is based on an attempt to increase the heat transfer surface while eliminating negative impacts on the fluid characteristics in the form of pressure loss or increase of the friction coefficient. The proposed geometry of the heat transfer element was compared with a pair of geometries based on the basic gyroid shape but with different channel size parameters. A numerical simulation was performed in Ansys Fluent 2020 R1 using the SST k-omega turbulence model for flow velocities in the range of 0.01 m.s−1 to 0.5 m.s−1, which covered a wide range of the Reynolds number and thus also flow forms in terms of the turbulence intensity. The presented results clearly show lower values of pressure loss and friction coefficient of the proposed geometry compared to the evaluated porous structures. Also, at the same time, they describe the factors positively influencing the mixing process of the liquid in the proposed element, which leads to an increase in the efficiency of the heat transfer process. In recent years, photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) systems have played a crucial role in reducing energy consumption and environmental degradation, nonetheless, the low energy conversion efficiency presents a considerable obstacle for PV/T systems. Therefore, improving heat conversion efficiency is essential to enhance energy efficiency. In this paper, the PV/T system with the Tesla valve is proposed to solve this problem. Firstly, the cooling effect is simulated and analyzed in the system with four different flow channel structures: semicircle, rectangle, triangle and Tesla valve. The results indicate that the system with the Tesla valve exhibits superior cooling performance. Subsequently, several factors including angle, valve number, valve type, and pipe diameter ratio for the Tesla valve are further studied through numerical and simulation analysis. The results reveal that Tesla valves demonstrate optimal cooling performance when possessing the following structural parameters: complete symmetry, more valves, a 30-degree angle and a pipe diameter ratio of 1. Finally, four different types of fluid are selected to explore the Tesla valve. The conclusion shows that nanofluids with high density, low specific heat, and high thermal conductivity also improve the cooling performance. Thus, the PV/T system with the Tesla valve exhibits good heat dissipation and energy storage efficiency, electrical efficiency can reach 16.32% and thermal efficiency reach 59.65%. In the realm of high-tech materials and energy applications, accurately measuring the transient heat flow at media boundaries and the internal thermal conductivity of materials in harsh heat exchange environments poses a significant challenge when using conventional direct measurement methods. Consequently, the study of photothermal parameter reconstruction in translucent media, which relies on indirect measurement techniques, has crucial practical value. Current research on reconstructing photothermal properties within participating media typically focuses on single-objective or time-invariant properties. There is a pressing need to develop effective methods for the simultaneous reconstruction of time-varying thermal flow fields and internal thermal conductivity at the boundaries of participating media. This paper introduces a computational model based on the numerical simulation theory of internal heat transfer systems in participating media, stochastic particle swarm optimization algorithms, and Kalman filter technology. The model aims to enable the simultaneous reconstruction of various thermal parameters within the target medium. Our results demonstrate that under varying levels of measurement noise, the inversion results for different target parameters exhibit slight oscillations around the true values, leading to a reduction in reconstruction accuracy. In this paper, we consider the time-fractional Black–Scholes model with deterministic, time-varying coefficients. These time parametric constituents produce a model with greater flexibility that may capture empirical results from financial markets and their time-series datasets. We make use of transformations to reduce the underlying model to the classical heat transfer equation. We show that this transformation procedure is possible for a specific risk-free interest rate and volatility of stock function. • A fully coupled three-dimensional THMC model (DEHydrate) is developed for simulating hydrate dissociation. • The numerical results obtained from the proposed model are in good agreement with those from other simulations. • Only a small fraction of gas produced from radial hydrate dissociation is collected from the wellbore. • The model provides an effective tool to predict the mechanical behavior during hydrate dissociation. Due to high energy density and huge reserves, many trial projects worldwide have been conducted to exploit natural gas hydrates (NGH). However, most of them did not meet the commercialization requirements because of submarine hazards, low gas production and sand production. Therefore, it is important to investigate the NGH dissociation process. In this paper, a fully coupled multiphase, strongly nonlinear three-dimensional (3D) thermal–hydro–mechanical–chemical model (DEHydrate) is developed to consider the multiphysics behaviours including solid-liquid-gas multiphase flow, heat transfer, NGH phase transition and solid deformation during hydrate dissociation. The model is solved using a fully implicit finite element method. The gas-liquid flow and heat transfer are simulated by low-order elements while the solid deformation is calculated by high- or low-order elements. The behaviours of the multiphase seepage and geomechanics are fully coupled and the physical properties of the reservoir are updated iteratively based on changes in pressure, temperature and displacement. The DEHydrate simulator provides an effective tool to predict the evolution of reservoir mechanical behavior during hydrate dissociation, including transient pressure, temperature, displacement and stress in the reservoir, as well as multiphase saturation, hydrate dissociation rate/mass and gas production rate/mass. During the NGH dissociation, the initial stage exhibits a rapid dissociation rate of up to 206.23 kg/(d·m) for NGH layer with a length of 600 m and a thickness of 22 m, which subsequently decreases to 11.64 kg/(d·m). Only a small portion of the gas generated during NGH dissociation is collected at the wellbore (approximately 35.6 % after 100 days), while the majority remains trapped in the reservoir. In addition, throughout NGH dissociation, the reservoir matrix continues to move toward the wellbore in the horizontal direction. While in the vertical direction, the reservoir matrix below the wellbore moves upwards, with decreasing displacement due to low-pressure diffusion, while the reservoir matrix above the wellbore moves downwards, with increasing displacement. This paper presents the results of a study on the non-isothermal laminar flow and heat transfer of oil with Newtonian and viscoplastic rheologies. Heat exchange with the surrounding environment leads to the formation of a near-wall zone of viscoplastic fluid. As the flow proceeds, the transformation of a Newtonian fluid to a viscoplastic state occurs. The rheology of the Shvedoff–Bingham fluid as a function of temperature is represented by the effective molecular viscosity apparatus. A numerical solution to the system of equations of motion and heat transfer was obtained using the Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equations (SIMPLE) algorithm. The calculated data are obtained at Reynolds number Re from 523 to 1046, Bingham number Bn from 8.51 to 411.16, and Prandl number Pr = 45. The calculations' novelty lies in the appearance of a "stagnation zone" in the near-wall zone and the pipe cross-section narrowing. The near-wall "stagnation zone" is along the pipe's radius from r/R = 0.475 to r/R = 1 at Re = 523, Bn = 411.16, Pr = 45, u1 = 0.10 m/s, t1 = 25 °C, and tw = 0 °C. In this paper, a new split iterative compact difference scheme for a class of system is constructed. Then, the conservation properties of the scheme are discussed, and the convergence of the split iterative difference scheme is analyzed by using the discrete energy method on the basis of the prior estimation. This paper presents a topology optimization (TopO) method for conjugate heat transfer (CHT), with turbulent flows. Topological changes are controlled by an artificial material distribution field (design variables), defined at the cells of a background grid and used to distinguish a fluid from a solid material. To effectively solve the CHT problem, it is crucial to impose exact boundary conditions at the computed fluid–solid interface (FSI); this is the purpose of introducing the cut-cell method. On the grid, including also cut cells, the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations, coupled with the Spalart–Allmaras turbulence model with wall functions, and the temperature equation are solved. The continuous adjoint method computes the derivatives of the objective function(s) and constraints with respect to the material distribution field, starting from the computation of derivatives with respect to the positions of nodes on the FSI and then applying the chain rule of differentiation. In this work, the continuous adjoint PDEs are discretized using schemes that are consistent with the primal discretization, and this will be referred to as the "Think Discrete–Do Continuous" (TDDC) adjoint. The accuracy of the gradient computed by the TDDC adjoint is verified and the proposed method is assessed in the optimization of two 2D cases, both in turbulent flow conditions. The performance of the TopO designs is investigated in terms of the number of required refinement steps per optimization cycle, the Reynolds number of the flow, and the maximum allowed power dissipation. To illustrate the benefits of the proposed method, the first case is also optimized using a density-based TopO that imposes Brinkman penalization terms in solid areas, and comparisons are made. Shell and tube-type crossflow heat exchangers with circular fins are widely used in various industries, including nuclear power plants. This study focuses on the sodium-to-air heat exchanger, which is one of the key safety features in sodium-cooled fast reactors. Tube alignment inside the heat exchanger is important because it directly determines the performance. Although heat exchangers are generally designed to have staggered tube alignment, inevitable inline-aligned zones exist. Therefore, this paper proposes a hybrid tube alignment modeling approach that considers both staggered and inline tube heat transfer phenomena. The results of the hybrid model calculations are verified and validated with liquid sodium experiments. The hybrid approach to the tube arrangement reduced the temperature deviation between experimental and calculated values to a difference of 4.55% and 7.38% for both sodium and air sides, respectively, while for the heat transfer, the difference was 15.12% and 9.06% for sodium and air sides, respectively. The results of this study can also be used as a basis for the safety evaluation of nuclear reactors and licensing processes for sodium-cooled fast reactors. In addition, this study is limited not only to sodium heat exchangers but also to any serpentine tube arrangement or crossflow heat exchanger under high-temperature systems, such as concentrated solar power and thermal energy storage industries. The primary concerns for individuals using lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are aging and thermal runaway (TR). This paper focuses on the thermal runaway propagation (TRP) of cycling aged LIB modules. The impacts of state of charge (SOC), state of health, and cyclic aging temperature on TRP in LIB modules are investigated. The analysis includes parameters such as temperature, voltage, and mass of the modules during TRP. It was found that as SOC increases, the maximum increase in temperature and maximum temperature rate of the modules increased, as did the total mass loss and smoke emissions. The average heat transfer between adjacent cells was higher for the lower SOC. Cycle aging reduces the thermal stability of LIBs, leading to a lower maximum temperature and maximum temperature rate, as well as a larger mass loss compared with fresh battery modules. Regarding aging temperature, low-temperature aging reduces the total duration of TRP compared with room temperature, but it increases the maximum temperature rate and causes greater mass loss. Research on knocking combustion is vitally essential since it impacts engine performance regarding noise and emissions, fuel consumption, power density, and durability. Because of end-gas auto-ignition, current SI engines may experience conventional knock, which restricts increasing the compression ratio to increase thermal efficiency. Therefore, this paper examined the in-cylinder pressure and vibration of a port fuel-injected gasoline engine under knocking and non-knocking conditions. The heat release rate was calculated from pressure traces where the crank angle resolutions were not constant, and the conversion from the time domain to the frequency domain of knock sensor signals by using the Fourier Transform was performed. The result reveals that more heat is released during knocking combustion than during non-knocking combustion. When there is a knock, the temperature variation increases. This would facilitate the use of heat transfer studies to detect knock occurrences. Moreover, knocking is caused by an ignition timing that is too advanced, 22°BTC, compared to the non-knocking spark case, 14°BTC. To improve the efficiency of the heat exchanger tube, one smooth tube and four doubly enhanced tubes (EX1, EX2, EX3 and EX4) have been investigated for the pool boiling heat transfer experiments in this paper. The indicate that the pool boiling heat transfer coefficient of the doubly enhanced tubes increased visibly with the augmentation of heat flux through the bubble behavior. Heat transfer reinforcement effect of the doubly enhanced tubes are significantly better than that of the smooth tube. Additionally, pool boiling heat transfer coefficient can be further enhanced by raising the saturate temperature. Entropy generation minimization analysis demonstrates that the heat transfer characteristics of like T-shaped tubes (EX1 and EX2) are superior to that of low fin tubes (EX3 and EX4). Particularly, tube EX1 exhibits higher pool boiling heat transfer efficiency. It is observed that a reasonable fin pitch is more advantageous for improving heat transfer characteristics. At present, most numerical methods consider the tube walls as the same constant temperature in the simulations of the heat exchanger, and only the external fluid outside the tubes is considered. To investigate the heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger in the real running state, a conjugate heat transfer simulation is performed for a heat exchanger equipped with cross-combined ellipsoidal dimple tubes in this paper. The k-e standard turbulence model is selected to simulate the heating process of tube bank. The distributions of the temperature field and flow field are analyzed carefully. The results indicate that the temperature distribution and the heat flux on the tube wall are uneven, which is different from the case regarding the wall boundaries as a constant temperature. The heat transfer performance of the dimpled tube is higher than that of the smooth tube in the heat exchanger, and the heat transfer performance for aligned arrangement is better than that for staggered arrangement. Gathering and transportation pipelines often appear shutdown condition due to damage, leakage, and other reasons. The reasonable maintenance time should be controlled by closely combined with the change law of the oil-water temperature in the pipeline. This paper established a multi-field coupling 3-D heat transfer mathematical model of the oil-water pipeline environment based on the two-phase shutdown pipeline as the research object. According to the changing law of the oilwater temperature field and flow field under a typical pipe diameter, the evolution behavior of the gelation layer in the pipe and the transformation process of heat transfer mode were analyzed, and the heat transfer characteristics between oilwater phase and its interface in the pipe were defined. With the liquid phase ratio of the oil phase changing the rule, reasonable maintenance time suggestions were given for gathering and transporting pipelines with different water content. The combustion of fuel under intense volumetric forces has the potential to enhance the velocity of flame propagation. To investigate the influence of volumetric forces on the combustion process and the characteristics of flame propagation within fuel, this research paper conducted a numerical analysis of a 2-D rotating pipe subjected to varying volumetric forces. The findings reveal that, within a specific range, an augmentation in volumetric forces progressively elevates both the global and localized speeds of flame propagation. The primary rationale behind the heightened flame propagation speed under intense volumetric forces lies in the fact that the increase in such forces facilitates an enlargement of the interface area between the burned and unburned gases. This, in turn, fortifies the transfer of heat and the chemical reaction rate between the two, effectively shortening the duration of combustion and augmenting the speed of flame propagation. At exceedingly low volumetric forces, the pressure wave generated by combustion in the pipe exerts a certain influence on the speed of flame propagation and the progression of the flame. It is a new practical method to apply external magnetic field in magnetic working fluid to enhance heat transfer. In this paper, the swirl flow and heat transfer characteristics of ferrofluid in elliptical tubes under thermal-magnetic-flow fields coupling have been studied by using the finite volume method. The flow structure and secondary vortices evolution process of magnetic nanofluid in elliptical ducts under the action of the magnetic fields have been obtained. The effects of magnetic induction intensity and the ratio of major axis to minor axis of elliptical pipe on the flow and heat transfer performances have been main investigated. The results show that there is obvious secondary flow (with four vortices or eight vortices) on the cross-section and the swirling flow is gradually formed due to the coupling of thermal-magnetic-velocity fields. With the increase of the ratio of major axis to minor axis, the heat transfer enhancement effect with the application of external magnetic field is weakened. In order to provide a more comprehensive depiction of the actual heat transfer process in energy piles, this research paper presents an approximate solution for a finite line heat source model operating under variable heat flow conditions. This solution is established by integrating the finite line heat source model and the superposition principle. Furthermore, the W-tube heat exchanger is divided into many segments, and a segmented superposition approach is used based on the thermal response. Consequently, a heat transfer model for a single-pile heat source is formulated, taking into consideration the heat exchange between the circulating water and the energy pile. Notably, the soil temperature predicted by this proposed model closely aligns with the results obtained from the FLUENT numerical model, thereby substantiating the accuracy of the proposed approach. Simultaneously, the heat transfer model is employed to analyze variations in temperature and heat flux density within the heat exchanger and to investigate the influence of parameters such as mass-flow rate, pile-soil heat transfer coefficient, pile-soil density, and pile-soil specific heat capacity on the heat transfer characteristics of energy piles. The spiral-wound heat exchanger (SWHE) is the primary low-temperature heat exchanger for large-scale LNG plants due to its high-pressure resistance, compact structure, and high heat exchange efficiency. This paper studied the shell-side heat and mass transfer characteristics of vapor-liquid two-phase mixed refrigerants in an SWHE by combining a multi-component model in FLUENT software with a customized multicomponent mass transfer model. Besides, the mathematical model under the sloshing condition was obtained through mathematical derivation, and the corresponding UDF code was loaded into FLUENT as the momentum source term. The results under the sloshing conditions were compared with the relevant parameters under the steady-state condition. The shell-side heat and mass transfer characteristics of the SWHE were investigated by adjusting the component ratio and other working conditions. It was found that the sloshing conditions enhance the heat transfer performance and sometimes have insignificant effects. The sloshing condition is beneficial to reduce the flow resistance. The comprehensive performance of multi-component refrigerants has been improved and the improvement is more significant under sloshing conditions, considering both the heat transfer and pressure drop. The printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) is receiving wide attention as a new kind of compact heat exchanger and is considered as a promising vaporizer in the LNG process. In this paper, a PCHE straight channel in the length of 500 mm is established, with a semicircular cross section in a diameter of 1.2 mm. Numerical simulation is employed to investigate the flow and heat transfer performance of supercritical methane in the channel. The pseudo-boiling theory is adopted and the liquid-like, two-phase-like, and vapor-like regimes are divided for supercritical methane to analyze the heat transfer and flow features. The results are presented in micro segment to show the local convective heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. It shows that the convective heat transfer coefficient in segments along the channel has a significant peak feature near the pseudo-critical point and a heat transfer deterioration when the average fluid temperature in the segment is higher than the pseudo-critical point. The reason is explained with the generation of vapor-like film near the channel wall that the peak feature related to a nucleateboiling- like state and heat transfer deterioration related to a film-boiling-like state. The effects of parameters, including mass flow rate, pressure, and wall heat flux on flow and heat transfer were analyzed. In calculating of the averaged heat transfer coefficient of the whole channel, the traditional method shows significant deviation and the micro segment weighted average method is adopted. The pressure drop can mainly be affected by the mass flux and pressure and little affected by the wall heat flux. The peak of the convective heat transfer coefficient can only form at high mass flux, low wall heat flux, and near critical pressure, in which condition the nucleate-boiling-like state is easier to appear. Moreover, heat transfer deterioration will always appear, since the supercritical flow will finally develop into a filmboiling- like state. So heat transfer deterioration should be taken seriously in the design and safe operation of vaporizer PCHE. The study of this work clarified the local heat transfer and flow feature of supercritical methane in microchannel and contributed to the deep understanding of supercritical methane flow of the vaporization process in PCHE. This article presents an in-depth analysis of internally finned tube heat exchangers, which are used in a broad variety of condensers and evaporators for air conditioners, as well as radiators for vehicles and solar air heaters, amongst other places. The growing need for cooling systems that are more efficient and heat exchangers that take up less space has inspired many studies in this area of expertise. This research uses both experimental and computational analysis to compare and contrast the efficacy of various heat transfer enhancement processes in internally finned tube heat exchangers concerning the impacts they each have and the operating parameters they each need. This study aims to investigate how altering the fins' design affects heat transfer and pressure drop under varying operational situations. This paper examines the ranges in which these correlations have been verified, as several correlations have been created to assist in estimating heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics on internally finned tube heat exchangers. This study extensively delves into various analytical approaches such as Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other methodologies specifically tailored to address the unique goals of the particular problem. This study focuses on the challenges posed by global environmental issues and the urbanization process, delving into the thermal flux characteristics of green facades. Despite the significant role of green facades in environmental enhancement, energy conservation, and urban microclimate regulation, research on their thermal flux characteristics remains relatively scarce. Current studies mainly examine the impact of green vegetation on buildings' thermal loads, yet descriptions of the heat and mass transfer processes in vegetation layers and mathematical expressions of radiative heat exchange are notably lacking, often overlooking the influence of multiple factors such as solar radiative heat flux, net long-wave radiation heat flux, convective heat transfer flux, and latent heat flux. Through precise analysis and mathematical modeling of the heat and mass transfer processes in the vegetation layers of building facades, this paper aims to provide a scientific basis for green building design, enabling designers to more effectively utilize vegetation layers to regulate buildings' microenvironments, reduce energy consumption, and enhance the comfort of living and working spaces. Optimizing the design of vegetation layers not only enhances the thermal performance of buildings but also improves their aesthetics and ecological value, thereby promoting the development of green buildings. The market for smart greenhouses has been valued at USD 1.77 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow to 3.39 billion by 2030. In order to make this more efficient, with the help of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, it is desired to eliminate the problem of traditional agriculture, which has poor monitoring and accuracy control of the parameters of a culture. Climate control decisions in a greenhouse are made based on parameter monitoring systems, which can be remotely controlled. Instead of this adjustment of the measured parameters, it would be preferable from the point of view of energy consumption that they should be calculated at optimal values from the design phase of the greenhouse. For this reason, it would be better to perform an energy simulation of the greenhouse first. For the study carried out in this work, a small greenhouse (mini-greenhouse) was built. It was equipped with an IoT sensor system, which measured indoor climate parameters and could send data to the cloud for future recording and processing. A simplified mathematical model of the heat balance was established, and the measured internal parameters of the mini-greenhouse were compared with those obtained from the simulation. After validating the mathematical model of the mini-greenhouse, this paper aimed to find the optimal position for placing a normal-sized greenhouse. For this, several possible locations and orientations of the greenhouse were compared by running the mathematical model, with which the most unfavorable positions could be eliminated. Then, some considerably cheaper "mini-greenhouses" were made and placed in the locations with the desired orientations. Using sensor systems and technologies similar to those presented in this work, the parameters from all mini-greenhouses can be monitored in real time. This real-time monitoring allows for the simultaneous analysis of all greenhouses, without the disadvantages of data collection directly in the field, with all data being recorded in the cloud and other IoT-specific advantages being made use of.
