Objective: Relational job characteristics include perceived social worth and perceived social influence. Good relational job characteristics mean that nurses have high prosocial behavior. The purpose of this study was to explore the potential profile of nurses' relational job characteristics, influencing factors and their differences in turnover intention and subjective well-being, thus finding the most suitable clinical relationship job characteristics. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1013 clinical nurses using the general demographic data questionnaire, Relational Job Characteristics scale, Turnover Intention Questionnaire and Campbell index of well-being. A latent profile analysis was performed to explore relational job characteristics latent profiles. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted to examine the predictors of profile membership, and a one-way analysis of variance was applied to compare the turnover intention and subjective well-being in each latent profile. Results: Five latent profiles were identified and labeled 'High prosocial job characteristics' profile (20.7%), 'Moderate prosocial job characteristics' profile (41.7%), 'High social worth-low social impact perceived' profile (6.3%), 'Low social worth‐high social impact perceived' profile (18.8%) and 'Low prosocial job characteristics' profile (12.5%). Factors affecting the different types of nurse relationship job characteristics include age, marital status, hospital department, nursing years, professional title and hospital position. Among them, chief nurse, nurses with more than 20 years of nursing experience and obstetrics and gynecology nurses were more likely to be 'high prosocial job characteristics' profile. The turnover intention of nurses in 'high prosocial job characteristics' profile was significantly lower than that of other profiles, and their subjective well-being was significantly higher than that of other profiles. Conclusion: Improving nurses' perception of social worth and social impact on clinical work can improve nurses' prosocial behavior and subjective well-being, and reduce their turnover intention. Nursing managers or policy makers can formulate targeted intervention measures according to the influencing factors of potential profiles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: There are few available studies that compare the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of robotic pelvic lateral lymph node dissection compared to laparoscopic pelvic lateral lymph node dissection (LPLND) in advanced rectal cancer. This meta-analysis aims to compare perioperative outcomes between robotic and LPLND. Methods: We performed a systemic literature review of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Perioperative parameters were extracted and pooled for analysis. This meta-analysis provided an analysis of heterogeneity and prediction intervals. Results: Five studies were included: 567 patients divided between 266 robotic and 301 LPLND. Overall operation time was longer in the robotic group than laparoscopic group (difference in means = 67.11, 95% CI [30.80, 103.42], p < 0.001) but the difference in the pelvic lateral lymph dissection time was not statistically significant (difference in means = − 1.212, 95% CI [ − 11.594, 9.171], p = 0.819). There were fewer overall complications in the robotic than in the laparoscopic group (OR = 1.589, 95% CI [1.009, 2.503], p = 0.046), especially with respect to urinary retention (OR = 2.23, 95% CI [1.277, 3.894], p = 0.005). More pelvic lateral lymph nodes were harvested by robotic surgery than by laparoscopy (differences in means = − 1.992, 95% CI [ − 2.421, 1.563], p < 0.001). Conclusions: In this meta-analysis, robotic pelvic lateral lymph node dissection was associated with more pelvic lateral lymph nodes harvested and lower overall complications, especially urinary retention when compared to LPLND. Objective: To provide comprehensive evidence for the anti-cancer cachexia effect of Jianpi Decoction (JP) and to explore its mechanism of anti-cancer cachexia. Methods: A mouse model of colon cancer (CT26)-induced cancer cachexia (CC) was used to investigate the anti-CC effect of JP combined with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA). Thirty-six mice were equally divided into 6 groups: normal control, CC, MPA (100 mg•kg−1•d−1), MPA + low-dose (20 mg•kg−1•d−1) JP (L-JP), MPA + medium-dose (30 mg•kg−1•d−1) JP (M-JP), and MPA + high-dose (40 mg•kg−1•d−1) JP (H-JP) groups. After successful modeling, the mice were administered by gavage for 11 d. The body weight and tumor volume were measured and recorded every 2 d starting on the 8th day after implantation. The liver, heart, spleen, lung, kidney, tumor and gastrocnemius muscle of mice were collected and weighed. The pathological changes of the tumor was observed, and the cross-sectional area of the gastrocnemius muscle was calculated. The protein expressions of STAT3 and E3 ubiquitinase in the gastrocnemius muscle were measured by Western blot. In addition, an in vitro C2C12 myotube formation model was established to investigate the role of JP in hindering dexamethasone-induced muscle atrophy. In vitro experiments were divided into control, model, and JP serum groups. After 2-d administration, microscopic photographs were taken and myotube diameters were calculated. Western blot was performed to measure the protein expressions of STAT3 and E3 ubiquitinase. Results: JP combined with MPA restored tumor-induced weight loss (P<0.05, vs. CC) and muscle fiber size (P<0.01, vs. CC). Mechanistically, JP reduced the expression of atrophy-related proteins MuRF1 and MAFbx in tumor-induced muscle atrophy in vivo (P<0.05, vs. CC). In addition, JP reduced the expression of atrophy-related proteins MuRF1 and MAFbx and p-STAT3 phosphorylation (P<0.05 or P<0.01 vs. model group) in C2C12 myotubes treated with dexamethasone in vitro. Conclusions: Administration of JP combined with MPA restores tumor-induced cachexia conditions. In addition, the profound effect of JP combined with MPA on tumor-induced cachexia may be due to its inhibition of muscle proteolysis (E3 ubiquitinase system). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: While certain socioeconomic factors have been studied in relation to suicide, housing-price-related indexes have rarely been investigated. Aims: This article aims to examine the impact of housing-price-related indexes on suicide rates in the general population of Taiwan, a country with high housing costs and suicide rates. Methods: The study utilized three national housing-price-related indexes from 2012 to 2019: (1) housing price index, (2) housing price to income ratio, and (3) housing rental index. Cause of Death Data was employed to calculate suicide rate. A linear regression model with autoregressive errors was used to analyze the association between housing-price-related indexes and suicide rates among different sex and age groups. Results: The findings revealed that higher housing rental index values were associated with increased suicide rates in young and middle-aged adults compared to the elderly population, regardless of sex. However, this association was not observed with the other two housing-price-related indexes (i.e. housing price index and housing price to income ratio). Conclusion: These results offer valuable insights for policymakers, mental health professionals, and housing advocates to improve housing affordability and reduce the burden of suicide in the general population, particularly among younger generations. Background: Adhesive capsulitis affects the shoulder joint, causing pain and limiting motion. In clinical practice, the effectiveness of injections varies, and the factors influencing their success remain unclear. This study investigates the predictors of effective corticosteroid injections in patients with primary adhesive capsulitis. Design: This retrospective study enrolled adhesive capsulitis patients older than 35 yrs who received intra-articular corticosteroid injections. The response was determined based on patients' pain and range of motion 3 mos after the injection. Demographic data, medical comorbidities, and radiographic parameters (critical shoulder angle and acromial index) were compared between the effective and noneffective groups. Receiver operating characteristic curves and logistic regression were used to identify the predictors of injection effectiveness. Results: This study included 325 patients with primary adhesive capsulitis, who were divided into responder (189 patients, 58.2%) and nonresponder (136 patients, 41.8%) groups. The receiver operating characteristic curve revealed that the acromial index score indicated favorable discrimination for predicting a poor response to injections, whereas the critical shoulder angle score did not. Logistic regression revealed that the pain period, diabetes mellitus, and acromial index are predictors of nonresponders to injections. Conclusions: Long pain duration, the presence of diabetes mellitus, and an acromial index score greater than 0.711 were predictors of nonresponse to corticosteroid injections for primary adhesive capsulitis patients.
