This paper addresses the vexed question of the origins and nature of archaic Greek tyranny by focusing on the conceptual roots of the phenomenon, namely by investigating the political significance and implications of the Luwian notion of tarrawanni-, 'just, justice,' the term from which Greek tyrannos is believed to derive. Firstly, the paper shows how both Neo-Hittite and early Greek societies display a similar attitude towards justice as a key element for political legitimation. After concluding, however, that this commonality is not enough to explain why the Greeks borrowed the concept of tarrawanni- as tyrannos, the paper moves on to examining what specific way of doing politics is captured by the two concepts, arguing that they identify a type of political actor that exercises supreme powers independently of any kind of institutional arrangement. The Gallic invasion of Greece in 280/279 BC left a deep mark in the collective memory of the Greeks. From then on, they represented the Celts as the stereotypical ‘barbarians’ – primitive, wild, violent and without any culture of their own. As the newcomers had established permanent kingdoms in Thrace and Phrygia, however, both sides had to learn how to deal with each other. The paper asks how the rulers of the Galatians on both sides of the Bosporus handled this challenge and how this influenced their own identity. To go beyond existing research, the analysis draws both on the literary Greek sources and the coinage which the Eastern Celts started to produce in the 3rd century BC. It will be shown that the Galatian elites quickly adapted to the political practices of the Hellenistic world and confidently asserted their own place within it, mixing their own customs with Greek and local (Thracian, Anatolian) elements to create a unique blend of identity. Although leisure constraints that individuals have to cope with can negatively affect their social inclusion and satisfaction with life, little research has addressed the link between these variables. Therefore, the current paper examined the moderator role of leisure constraints on the relationship between satisfaction with life and leisure constraints among adults living in five different European countries. The respondents were 1,382 women and 877 men adults. The findings of analysis revealed that all factors used in the study accounted for 15% of the variance in satisfaction with life and social inclusion had a significant and positive impact on satisfaction with life. As a result, it can be said that leisure constraints had a moderating effect on the relationship between satisfaction with life and social inclusion. The present research study recommends that social inclusion should be encouraged through decreasing to leisure constraints to increase the life satisfaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Higher education informatization (HEI) is an interdisciplinary field that examines the use and integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in higher education. This paper provides a bibliometric and visual analysis of the research trends, patterns, and topics in this field. Using the Web of Science database, the authors selected and analyzed 199 SCI and SSCI papers on HEI published from 2000 to 2023 by VOSviewer and CiteSpace software. The results indicate that the publication volume of HEI research has grown significantly in recent years. The author network shows the collaboration and contribution of different researchers and institutions, while the journal network reveals the multidisciplinary nature and scope of the field. The keyword network and the burst keyword analysis identify the main research themes and the emerging hot topics in HEI. The co-citation network of sources illustrates the theoretical and methodological foundations and influences of the field. The paper concludes with some implications and suggestions for future HEI research.

The purpose of this study is to analyze a possible substitution relationship between farmed gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) and farmed European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) in Mediterranean markets. Seabream and seabass are the two most important aquaculture species in the Mediterranean area. Greece and Turkey are the main producing and exporting countries, while the main consumer markets are in Spain and Italy. Despite the fact that both species are produced by the same companies and use the same international logistics chains, there are no previous analysis regarding a potential competitive relationship between the two species. This work performs a cointegration analysis and tests for market integration between the two species in the frame of the competition across Greece and Turkey in the international market, considering Spanish and Italian seabream imports prices in the period 2009–2021. Results indicates that the substitution between seabass and seabream only takes place in a context of competition between producing and exporting countries, in which species from one country can indistinctly substitute any species from the competing country. On the contrary, when the supply of a given country is differentiated from the rest of the market, the two species will have a differentiated behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a parasitic disease caused by the larval stages of Echinococcus and is considered a neglected disease of public health worldwide. CE primarily affects the liver and demonstrates distinctive radiological findings in computed tomography (CT) and ultrasonography (US). Surgery is considered the mainstay of CE treatment. The patient was a 17-year-old man admitted to the Emergency Department of Shahid Faghihi Hospital affiliated with Shiraz University of Medical Sciences with dull right upper quadrant abdominal pain, loss of appetite, abdominal distention, and fullness. An abdominal CT scan revealed a giant hepatic cyst measuring about 24x20x15 cm in the right hepatic lobe (RHL) with a pressure effect on the right kidney, pancreas, and bowel loops. Semi-chevron incision was done and the patient underwent partial precystectomy with capitonnage and omentoplasty. The surgical outcome was uneventful and the patient was discharged on the eighth day after the surgery with the oral Albendazole. Reviewing the literature, our case was the 5th rank according to the size of the recorded published cases. The most common countries where the largest liver hydatid cysts were reported were Greece and Turkey. The most common surgery was the open surgery and the most common incisions were Kocher and then Chevron incisions. When dealing with a huge liver cyst, a high index of suspicion for echinococcal etiology becomes important in endemic areas such as Iran. The choice of treatment for giant hepatic cysts substantially seems to be radical surgery by surgical ablation in general to mitigate the mortality and morbidity rate, because they are at risk of rupture, anaphylaxis, and so forth.
