This article discusses a new technique for reconstruction in endoscopic skull-base surgeries. The technique involves preserving and suturing the rostral mucosa at the end of the procedure, which acts as a barrier to prevent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage. The study included 28 patients who underwent clival and paraclival surgeries using this technique, with the majority of cases being chordomas. Intraoperative CSF leak was noted in 55.6% of cases, and postoperative leakage occurred in 14.3% of cases. The technique was associated with a low rate of nasal morbidity. Further studies are needed to compare this technique to traditional reconstruction techniques. [Extracted from the article]
