This document is a summary of selected topics from the 29th International Colloquium on the Dynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems (ICDERS) held in Siheung, Korea in July 2023. The conference focused on the dynamic aspects of reactive systems and included presentations on explosions, detonations, ignition, turbulent combustion, and other topics in combustion. The current issue of the journal Shock Waves includes ten papers that were presented at the conference, covering areas such as shock tube design, shock wave methane pyrolysis, detonation physics, and rotating detonation engine propulsion systems. The International Conference on Development and Applications of Nuclear Technologies, NUTECH 2023, was held in Krakow, Poland from September 20-22, 2023. The conference aimed to bring together scientists working in the field of nuclear and radiation technologies to facilitate scientific contacts and collaboration. Over 100 scientists from 28 countries participated, presenting their research through oral and poster presentations. The conference covered topics such as nuclear energy, medical applications of radiation, dosimetry, and radiation technologies. This special issue of "Nukleonika" contains a selection of papers presented at the conference, showcasing international contributions to research on nuclear and radiation technologies. The ninth annual international G-CAN research symposium was held in La Jolla, CA on the 7th and 8th of November 2023. This hybrid meeting, a live face-to-face and virtual live symposium, was attended by 191 participants. Over 20 research abstract submissions were received from early-career investigators, for plenary oral and poster presentations. Here, we present the 20 accepted, lightly edited abstracts from the early-career presenters consenting to have their materials published. The 2nd International FEBS‐IUBMB‐ENABLE Molecular Biosciences PhD and Postdoc Conference was held from 23rd to 25th November 2023 in Cologne, Germany. Over 240 participants from 31 different countries came together at the University of Cologne to follow the two‐day scientific symposium and the career day. This year's topic was "The emerging challenge – environmental impacts on human health". In four different sessions, eight renowned keynote speakers presented their current research. By offering flash and short talks, 39 participants were able to present their work in front of a big audience. Scientific exchange and networking were encouraged during the two poster sessions, during breaks, and the conference dinner. On the Career Day, a career fair was held and participants could attend workshops as well as career chats to improve their job prospects. The success of the series will be continued during the next conference edition: "Artificial Intelligence – Reshaping biomedical and healthcare research", which will take place 4th to 6th December 2024 in Singapore.
