This paper demonstrates the application of the Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation control of a single-phase H-bridge inverter. Its primary purpose is to reduce the harmonic content of the output waveform to ensure power quality. The N-R technique was applied to find the roots "firing angles" of the control circuit of the H-bridge inverter by using a set of nonlinear algebraic equations obtained by analysis of the Fourier series of the voltage waveform to eliminate certain harmonic orders. Different cases were analyzed using this technique to selectively eliminate the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th harmonics. It was also demonstrated that the suggested method's efficacy is confirmed by the obtained results using MATLAB/Simulink programming, and almost perfect harmonic elimination is verified, so filters of smaller size can be used, which means lower cost filters.
