Background Purpose Methods Results Conclusions The advantages of proton therapy can be further enhanced with online magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance. One of the challenges in the realization of MRI‐guided proton therapy (MRPT) is accurately calculating the radiation dose in the presence of magnetic fields.This study aims to develop an efficient and accurate proton dose calculation algorithm adapted to the presence of magnetic fields.An analytical‐numerical radiation dose calculation algorithm, Proton and Ion Dose Engine (PRIDE), was developed. The algorithm combines the pencil beam algorithm (PBA) with a novel iterative voxel‐based ray‐tracing algorithm. The new ray‐tracing method uses fewer assumptions and ensures broader applicability for proton beam trajectory prediction in magnetic fields, and has been compared to Wolf's method and Schellhammer's method. The accuracy of PRIDE algorithm was validated on three phantoms and two practical plans (one single‐field water plan and one prostate tumor plan) in different magnetic field strengths up to 3.0 T. The validation was performed by comparing the results against the Monte Carlo (MC) simulations, using the global gamma index criteria of 2%/2 mm and 3%/3 mm with a 10% threshold.PRIDE showed good agreement with MC in homogeneous and slab heterogeneous phantom, achieving gamma passing rates (%GPs) above 99% for 2%/2 mm criteria when magnetic field strength is not greater than 1.5 T. Although the agreement decreased for scenarios involving high proton energy (240 MeV) and strong magnetic field (3.0 T), the 2%/2 mm %GPs still remained above 98%. In lateral heterogeneous phantom, the accuracy of PRIDE decreased due to the PBA's limitation. For the two practical plans in different magnetic fields, %GPs exceeded 98% and 99% for 2%/2 mm and 3%/3 mm criteria, respectively.PRIDE can perform efficient and accurate proton dose calculation in magnetic fields up to 3.0 T, and is expected to work as a useful tool for proton dose calculation in MRPT. Comprehensive Summary: Seventeen undescribed lindenane‐related sesquiterpenoid dimers, chlorajaponins A—Q (1—17), and 13 reported analogs (18—30) were isolated from Chloranthus japonicus Sieb. Compound 1 possesses an unprecedented 3/5/7/5/5/6/5/3 fused octacyclic scaffold, featuring a 6(5→4)‐abeo‐lindenane monomer, while 2 exhibits a 3/5/6/6/5/6/5/3 fused octacyclic scaffold. Their structures were determined through a combination of spectroscopic analyses and X‐ray crystallography. Compounds 1, 2, and 18 demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation and effectively reduced the levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol, as well as the levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase in a HepG2 cell model. In addition, compounds 1, 2, and 18 significantly suppressed the protein expression of the fatty acid synthase (FASN) and the sterol regulatory element‐binding protein 1 (SREBP1). Moreover, the anti‐inflammatory assay showed that compounds 19—22 and 25 inhibited the NO production induced by lipopolysaccharide in RAW 264.7 macrophages with IC50 values of 7.89 ± 0.44, 6.25 ± 0.46, 2.98 ± 0.29, 10.77 ± 0.60, and 3.60 ± 0.28 μmol/L. Background: Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 178 (CCDC178) has been revealed to exert metastasis-promoting properties in hepatocellular carcinoma, whereas its function in gastric cancer (GC) has not been fully understood. Aims: We evaluated its role in GC and the molecular mechanism. Methods: The differentially expressed genes in datasets related to GC metastasis were intersected with survival-related genes in GC, followed by prognostic significance prediction. Loss- and gain-of-function assays were conducted to examine the involvement of CCDC178, Homeobox protein BarH-like 1 (BARX1), and the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway in GC cell malignant phenotype and the polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAM). The corresponding functions were verified in the in vivo animal experiment. Results: High CCDC178 expression predicted a poor prognosis for GC patients, and CCDC178 correlated significantly with macrophage infiltration in GC tissues. CCDC178 activated the ERK pathway in GC. Silencing of CCDC178 reduced the colony formation, migratory and invasive potential of GC cells, and the M2-like polarization of TAM, which was reversed by TBHQ (an ERK activator). BARX1 bound to the promoter region of CCDC178, thus inducing its transcriptional level. Silencing of BARX1 suppressed the M2-type polarization of TAM in vitro and in vivo, and CCDC178 mitigated the repressing role of BARX1 knockdown. Viscosity is a crucial indicator of the cellular microenvironment, which can affect the normal level of cellular metabolism. Aberrant levels of viscosity can result in the emergence of a variety of physiological problems including diabetes, Parkinson's disease, inflammation, etc. Therefore, it is crucial to exploit effective assays that can detect viscosity levels in living cells and organisms. Three new nitrogen-containing heterocyclic fluorescent probes, CNO, CNN and CNNB, were designed and prepared by coupling curcumin with isoxazole, pyrazole, and phenylpyrazole rings, respectively. The fluorescence response properties of these probes to the viscosity level were analyzed in parallel. All the probes, CNO, CNN and CNNB, exhibited a significantly enhanced fluorescence response to viscosity in a broad pH range with excellent photostability, sensitivity and anti-interference ability. The sensing mechanisms of these probes for viscosity were verified by DFT calculations. In addition, these probes were successfully employed for detecting viscosity levels in living HeLa cells and zebrafish. This research compares the viscosity-responsive capabilities of curcumin-based fluorescent probes containing different nitrogen-containing heterocyclic structures, and provides a new design strategy and guidance for developing curcumin-based fluorescent probes for viscosity analysis. In this study, we examined the possibility of using industrial microwave processing to enhance the gelling properties and reduce the starch digestibility of mung bean flour (MBF). MBF (12.6 % moisture) was microwaved at a power of 6 W/g to different final temperatures (100–130 °C), and then its structural and functional properties were characterized. The microwave treatment had little impact on the crystalline structure or amylose content of the starch, but it roughened the starch granule surfaces and decreased the short-range ordered structure and degree of branching. In addition, the extent of mung bean protein denaturation caused by the microwave treatment depended on the final temperature. Slightly denaturing the proteins (100 °C) did not affect the nature of the gels (protein phase dispersed in a starch phase) but the gel network became more compact. Moderately denaturing the proteins (110–120 °C) led to more compact and homogeneous starch-protein double network gels. Excessive protein denaturation (130 °C) caused the gel structure to become more heterogeneous. As a result, the facilitated tangles between starch chains by more linear starch molecules after debranching, and the protein network produced by moderate protein denaturation led to the formation of stronger gel and the improvement of plasticity during large deformation (large amplitude oscillatory shear-LAOS). Starch recrystallization, lipid complexion, and protein network retard starch digestion in the MBF gels. In conclusion, an industrial microwave treatment improved the gelling and digestive properties of MBF, and Lissajous curve has good adaptability in characterizing the viscoelasticity of gels under large deformations. [Display omitted] • Moisture content is vital for starch-lipid/protein interaction during heating. • Two gel textures appeared at different moisture levels: soft solids and pasty fluids. • Starch-lipid/protein interactions decreased starch digestion rate. Effects of heat treatment (100 °C) at different moisture content (13–70 %) on the structural, gelation and digestive properties of starch in real mung bean flour (MBF) systems are investigated. The results showed that the structural destruction of the starch, the starch-lipid complexion and starch-protein interaction were promoted with increasing moisture content. The starch-protein interaction was mainly driven by hydrophobic interaction forces, leading the increase of total phase transition enthalpy. Even though starch retained ordered structure after heating at 50 %–70 % moisture, the typical pasting curve almost disappeared. The less leached amylose to construct the continuous phase, and more flexible amylopectin swollen granules dispersed in the matrix may weakened the viscoelasticity of the gels. As a result, two distinct gel textures were presented: soft solids with good water-binding capacity (below 30 %) and pasty fluids (above 40 %). Starch-lipid/protein interactions were demonstrated to retard the digestion rate of starch during MBS gelatinization according to the two-stage first-order kinetic and LOS (logarithm of the slope) models. Asthma is a prevalent chronic respiratory disease, yet understanding its ecology and pathogenesis remains a challenge. Trim27, a ubiquitination ligase belonging to the TRIM (tripartite motif-containing) family, has been implicated in regulating multiple pathophysiological processes such as inflammation, oxidative stress, apoptosis, and cell proliferation. However, the role of Trim27 in asthma has not been investigated. Our study found that Trim27 expression significantly increases in the airway epithelium of asthmatic mice. Knockdown of Trim27 expression effectively relieved ovalbumin (OVA)-induced airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) and lung tissue histopathological changes. Moreover, Trim27 knockdown exhibited a significant reduction in airway inflammation and oxidative stress in asthmatic mice, and in vitro analysis confirmed the favorable effect of Trim27 deletion on inflammation and oxidative stress in mouse airway epithelial cells. Furthermore, our study revealed that deletion of Trim27 in MLE12 cells significantly decreased NLRP3 inflammasome activation, as evidenced by reduced expression of NLRP3, ASC, and pro-IL-1β mRNA. This downregulation was reversed when Trim27, but not its mutant lacking ubiquitination ligase activity, was replenished in these cells. Consistent with these findings, protein levels of NLRP3, pro-caspase-1, pro-IL-1β, cleaved-caspase-1, and cleaved-IL-1β were higher in Trim27-replenished cells compared to cells expressing Trim27C/A. Functionally, the downregulation of IL-1β and IL-18 levels induced by Trim27 deletion was rescued by replenishing Trim27. Overall, our findings provide evidence that Trim27 contributes to airway inflammation and oxidative stress in asthmatic mice via NLRP3 inflammasome activation, providing crucial insights into potential therapeutic interventions targeting Trim27 as a way to treat asthma. Previously, we presented a green and efficient separation method for soluble undenatured type II collagen (SC II) based on the complex coacervation of SC II and anionic polysaccharides, and demonstrated the significant impact of molecular weight (M w). In this study, we combined differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), microscale thermophoresis (MST) and molecular dynamics simulation (MDS) to further explore the affinity and interaction types of SC II with different anionic polysaccharides. Results showed that the denaturation temperature of SC II increased (about 3 °C) after complex coacervating with chondroitin sulfate (CS, a small anionic polysaccharide), which might be related to their strong affinity (dissociation constant of K d and binding energy were about 3.04 × 10−6 mg/mL and −4054.97 kJ/mol, respectively), and the molecular weight of anionic polysaccharides had a greater impact than chain conformation. The non-covalent interactions between SC II and anionic polysaccharides were mainly hydrogen bonds, followed by hydrophobic interactions and ionic bonds. The hydroxyl and sulfate groups in polysaccharides could form extensive hydrogen bonds and small amount of ionic bonds with a large number of amino acids in SC II, and the hydrophobic groups such as methyl also formed hydrophobic interactions with hydrophobic parts in SC II (such as Pro82, Pro85, Val88). Importantly, the smaller the M w of anionic polysaccharides, the faster they formed stable interactions with SC II. Therefore, anionic polysaccharides with smaller M w had higher affinity and faster non-covalent interactions formation speed with SC II, resulting in more compact structure and higher thermal stability of the complexes. Various problems are often encountered during the backfilling process of deep foundation pits. The development of low-cost and efficient solidified materials for the preparation of fluidized solidified soil is currently an ideal solution. This article used industrial solid waste (granulated blast furnace slag, fly ash, carbide slag, etc.) as the main raw material to study the hydration hardening properties of solidified materials and the construction feasibility of fluidized solidified soil prepared from solid waste materials. The results are as follows: Compared with cement-based materials, solid waste-based solidified materials had lower early activity. The cumulative heat release within 72 h was less than 200 J/g. Different solid wastes, such as fly ash and carbide slag, had different effects on the properties of solidified materials. Overall, they had the potential to prepare fluidized solidified soil. The prepared fluidized solidified soil had a fluidity greater than 350 mm, a 28d compressive strength greater than 3 MPa, and exhibited good workability and excellent mechanical properties. Hydration products such as C-S-H and AFt were filled in the soil structure. The 28d compressive strength well above the design requirements of general engineering projects. Meanwhile, the prepared fluidized solidified soil had good adaptability to conventional water reducers (fluidity could be increased by more than 40%) and early strength agents (1d compressive strength could be increased by more than 60%). • Use fluidized solidified soil to solve the problem of backfilling deep foundation pits. • Utilize the synergy between industrial solid waste to improve the solidification effect. • Establish the connection between solidified materials and fluidized solidified soil. • The adaptability of fluidized solidified soil to admixtures was studied. Background: Postoperative delirium (POD) is a common complication that is characterized by acute onset of impaired cognitive function and is associated with an increased mortality, a prolonged duration of hospital stay, and additional healthcare expenditures. The incidence of POD in elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical colectomy ranges from 8 to 54%. Xenon has been shown to provide neuroprotection in various neural injury models, but the clinical researches assessing the preventive effect of xenon inhalation on the occurrence of POD obtained controversial findings. This study aims to investigate the effects of a short xenon inhalation on the occurrence of POD in elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical colectomy. Methods/design: This is a prospective, randomized, controlled trial and 132 patients aged 65–80 years and scheduled for laparoscopic radical colectomy will be enrolled. The participants will be randomly assigned to either the control group or the xenon group (n = 66 in each group). The primary outcome will be the incidence of POD in the first 5 days after surgery. Secondary outcomes will include the subtype, severity, and duration of POD, postoperative pain score, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PQSI), perioperative non-delirium complications, and economic parameters. Additionally, the study will investigate the activation of microglial cells, expression of inflammatory factors in colon tissues, plasma inflammatory factors, and neurochemical markers. Discussion: Elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical colectomy are at a high risk of POD, with delayed postoperative recovery and increased healthcare costs. Assessing programmed death ligand‐1 (PD‐L1) expression in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in metastatic cases, remains challenging. In this study, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis and [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐WL12 micro‐PET/CT imaging are performed. [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐WL12 PET/CT and [18F]FDG PET/CT are performed on a cohort of 20 patients with NSCLC. Semi‐quantitative assessments include SUVmax, metabolic tumor volume (MTV), total lesion glycolysis (TLG), and target‐to‐background ratio (TBR). DOTA‐WL12 exhibits robust PD‐L1 binding with a KD value of 0.2 nM. Subsequent human studies reveal significant correlations between PD‐L1 expression and the [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐WL12 SUVmax in primary and metastatic lesions, surpassing the [18F]FDG results (r = 0.8889, p <0.0001 vs r = 0.0469, p = 0.8127). Notably, [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐WL12 imaging discerned SUVmax and TBR differences between PD‐L1 TPS ≤1% and PD‐L1 TPS > 1% groups (p all <0.001). In an NSCLC patient with brain metastases, [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐WL12 shows a SUVmean of 0.04 in the brain background, with TBR values of 17 and 23, underscoring its potential for detecting brain metastases. The study provides initial evidence for the clinical utility of [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐WL12 PET/CT for lesion detection, immunotherapy selection, and therapeutic efficacy evaluation in PD‐L1‐expressing NSCLC, demonstrating its potential as a valuable tool in NSCLC research and management. As a part of by-product generated during the incineration, the municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (MFA) is a secondary pollutant. The ordinary Portland cement (OPC)-based stabilization/solidification (S/S) is a prevalent and robust technique for the treatment of MFA, which can not only effectively dispose the MFA, but also decrease the demand of OPC and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. However, when MFA was directly utilized to partly replace the cement with a replacement ratio of 15%, the MFA-OPC based composites exhibited inferior mechanical properties. The nano silica (NS) was considered to be introduced to compensate for the strength loss caused by the MFA. In this research, the NS with varying dosages and particle sizes were integrated into the MFA-OPC composites and in total seven groups of the composites were prepared. The mechanical properties of the composites were examined and the results indicated that the composites containing 2 wt% 100 nm NS presented relatively superior mechanical properties. The incorporation of NS could increase the compressive strength of MFA-OPC composites by 37.5% at later age. Then, thermodynamic modelling and the micro-structural analysis including hydration heat, XRD, TG, MIP and SEM were coupling applied to probe into the NS modification mechanism. Experimental results indicated that the addition of NS enhanced the strength of OPC containing MFA at both early and later ages via pozzolanic reaction, hydration acceleration and micro filling effects. Overall considering the macro performance improvement and microstructure modification effect, the 2 wt% NS with particle size of 100 nm was recommended to be utilized. In this study, a new evaluation method was investigated for the magnetic properties of the amorphous alloys by comparing the experimental results with the theoretical calculations. First, The (Fe70Co6P4.8Si9.6B9.6)100−xCux (x=0–0.5) amorphous ribbons were prepared by melt spinning method. Then, the magnetic properties of the prepared amorphous alloys were measured as 165.86–147.04emu/g, respectively. On the other side, we analyzed the valence electron structure and obtained the magnetizations as 159.92–158.77emu/g by calculating the magnetic moments of unit cells based on empirical electron theory (EET) of solids and molecules. Through comparing the magnetic properties of the calculations with the measurements, we found that the differences between the calculations and the measurements are less than 12% for all samples, meeting the first approximation requirement. Moreover, with the addition of Cu, the change trends both in the calculated and measured magnetic properties are also consistent. These results prove that it is feasible to calculate the magnetic property of the amorphous alloy from the valence electron level using EET, which provides a new method to investigate the soft magnetic property of the amorphous alloy instead of the real measurement. In soft electronics, anisotropic conductive adhesive films (ACFs) are the trending interconnecting approach due to their substantial softness and superior bondability to flexible substrates. However, low bonding pressure (≤1 MPa) and fine-pitch interconnections of ACFs become challenging while being extended in advanced device developments such as wafer-level packaging and three-dimensional multi-layer integrated circuit board assembly. To overcome these difficulties, we studied two types of ACFs with distinct conductive filler sizes (ACF-1: ~20 μm and ACF-2: ~5 μm). We demonstrated a low-pressure thermo-compression bonding technique and investigated the size effect of conductive particles on ACF's mechanical properties in a customized testing device, which consists of flexible printing circuits and Flex on Flex assemblies. A consistency of low interconnection resistance (<1 Ω) after mechanical stress (cycling bending test up to 600 cycles) verifies the assembly's outstanding electrical reliability and mechanical stability and thus validates the great effectiveness of the ACF bonding technique. Additionally, in numerical studies using the finite element method, we developed a generic model to disclose the size effect of Au/Ni-coated polymer fillers in ACF on device reliability under mechanical stress. For the first time, we confirmed that ACFs with smaller filler particles are more prone to coating fracture, leading to deteriorated electrical interconnections, and are more likely to peel off from substrate electrode pads resulting in electrical faults. The PyC/Al 2 O 3 ceramics with micro-channels were prepared by the 3D printing, which realized the tailored microwave absorption properties via designing meta-structures with diverse micro-channels to tailor the permittivity of the ceramic. The permittivity of the ceramics can be effectively controlled by micro-channels with different orientations and sizes, which could be particular for designing multi-layer impedance matching meta-structures with different dielectric properties. The absorption bandwidth of PyC/Al 2 O 3 ceramics is effectively expanded, which realized great than 90 % EM wave absorption in the frequency range of 6–18 GHz, indicating an efficient absorption band of 12 GHz. Therefore, this study put forward a new strategy to tailor the permittivity of 3D printed ceramics by introducing micro-channels with sizes of sub-wavelength, which could enlarge the design freedoms for 3D printed microwave absorbing ceramics. • An 3D printed PyC/Al 2 O 3 ceramic metamaterials is proposed. • The permittivity of PyC/Al 2 O 3 can be effectively tailored by the micro-channels. • The proposed meta-structure can achieve strong absorption at thinner thickness. Purpose: Dynamic total-body imaging enables new perspectives to investigate the potential relationship between the central and peripheral regions. Employing uEXPLORER dynamic [11C]CFT PET/CT imaging with voxel-wise simplified reference tissue model (SRTM) kinetic modeling and semi-quantitative measures, we explored how the correlation pattern between nigrostriatal and digestive regions differed between the healthy participants as controls (HC) and patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Methods: Eleven participants (six HCs and five PDs) underwent 75-min dynamic [11C]CFT scans on a total-body PET/CT scanner (uEXPLORER, United Imaging Healthcare) were retrospectively enrolled. Time activity curves for four nigrostriatal nuclei (caudate, putamen, pallidum, and substantia nigra) and three digestive organs (pancreas, stomach, and duodenum) were obtained. Total-body parametric images of relative transporter rate constant (R1) and distribution volume ratio (DVR) were generated using the SRTM with occipital lobe as the reference tissue and a linear regression with spatial-constraint algorithm. Standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) at early (1–3 min, SUVREP) and late (60–75 min, SUVRLP) phases were calculated as the semi-quantitative substitutes for R1 and DVR, respectively. Results: Significant differences in estimates between the HC and PD groups were identified in DVR and SUVRLP of putamen (DVR: 4.82 ± 1.58 vs. 2.58 ± 0.53; SUVRLP: 4.65 ± 1.36 vs. 2.84 ± 0.67; for HC and PD, respectively, both p < 0.05) and SUVREP of stomach (1.12 ± 0.27 vs. 2.27 ± 0.65 for HC and PD, respectively; p < 0.01). In the HC group, negative correlations were observed between stomach and substantia nigra in both the R1 and SUVREP values (r=-0.83, p < 0.05 for R1; r=-0.94, p < 0.01 for SUVREP). Positive correlations were identified between pancreas and putamen in both DVR and SUVRLP values (r = 0.94, p < 0.01 for DVR; r = 1.00, p < 0.001 for SUVRLP). By contrast, in the PD group, no correlations were found between the aforementioned target nigrostriatal and digestive areas. Conclusions: The parametric images of R1 and DVR generated from the SRTM model, along with SUVREP and SUVRLP, were proposed to quantify dynamic total-body [11C]CFT PET/CT in HC and PD groups. The distinction in correlation patterns of nigrostriatal and digestive regions between HC and PD groups identified by R1 and DVR, or SUVRs, may provide new insights into the disease mechanism. Atherosclerosis is initiated by vascular endothelial dysfunction, and low-shear stress (LSS) of blood flow is a key factor leading to endothelial dysfunction. Growing evidence suggests that endothelial cell pyroptosis plays an important role in the development of atherosclerosis. Studies have shown that low-shear stress can induce endothelial cell pyroptosis, but the exact mechanism remains unclear. Our experiments demonstrated that low-shear stress induced endothelial cell pyroptosis and the phosphorylation of IκB kinase ε (IKKε). IKKε knockdown not only significantly attenuated atherosclerosis lesions of aortic arch areas in ApoE−/− mice fed with high cholesterol diets, but also markedly reduced endothelial cell pyroptosis and NLRP3 expression triggered by low-shear stress. Further mechanism studies showed that IKKε promoted the expression of NLRP3 via activating signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) and the subsequent binding of STAT1 to NLRP3 promoter region. These results suggest that low-shear stress plays a pro-atherosclerotic role by promoting endothelial cell pyroptosis through the IKKε/STAT1/NLRP3 pathway, which provides new insights into the formation of atherosclerosis. In this paper, effects of preheating-induced denaturation of proteins and oleosomes on protein structure and soymilk quality were studied. The protein in soybeans baked at 55 °C (B-55) and 85 °C (B-85) showed an increase of β-sheet content by 3.2 % and a decrease of α-helix content by 3.3 %, indicating that proteins were gradually unfolded while oleosomes remained intact. The protein resisted thermal denaturation during secondary heating, and soymilks were stable as reflected by a small d 3,2 (0.4 μm). However, raw soymilk from soybeans baked at 115 °C (B-115), steamed for 1 min (ST-1) and 5 min (ST-5) presented oleosomes destruction and lipids aggregates. The proteins were coated around the oil aggregates. The β-turn content from soybeans steamed for 10 min (ST-10) increased by 9.5 %, with a dense network where the OBs were tightly wrapped, indicating the serious protein denaturation. As a result, the soymilks B-115 or steamed ones were unstable as evidenced by the serious protein aggregation and larger d 3,2 (5.65–12.48 μm). Furthermore, the soymilks were graininess and the protein digestion was delayed due to the formation of insoluble protein aggregates. The flavor and early-stage lipid digestion of soymilk from steamed soybeans was improved owing to lipid release. • Thermal treatment denatured the protein in soybeans, especially steaming treatment. • The protein in soybeans steamed for 10 min formed a dense network structure. • Soymilk made from steamed soybeans had better sensory but worse stability. • Thermal treatment altered the oleosomes structure and accelerated lipid digestion. Abnormalities of DNA modifications are closely related to the pathogenesis and prognosis of pancreatic cancer. The development of third-generation sequencing technology has brought opportunities for the study of new epigenetic modification in cancer. Here, we screened the N6-methyladenine (6mA) and 5-methylcytosine (5mC) modification in pancreatic cancer based on Oxford Nanopore Technologies sequencing. The 6mA levels were lower compared with 5mC and upregulated in pancreatic cancer. We developed a novel method to define differentially methylated deficient region (DMDR), which overlapped 1319 protein-coding genes in pancreatic cancer. Genes screened by DMDRs were more significantly enriched in the cancer genes compared with the traditional differential methylation method (P  < 0.001 versus P = 0.21, hypergeometric test). We then identified a survival-related signature based on DMDRs (DMDRSig) that stratified patients into high- and low-risk groups. Functional enrichment analysis indicated that 891 genes were closely related to alternative splicing. Multi-omics data from the cancer genome atlas showed that these genes were frequently altered in cancer samples. Survival analysis indicated that seven genes with high expression (ADAM9 , ADAM10 , EPS8 , FAM83A , FAM111B , LAMA3 and TES) were significantly associated with poor prognosis. In addition, the distinction for pancreatic cancer subtypes was determined using 46 subtype-specific genes and unsupervised clustering. Overall, our study is the first to explore the molecular characteristics of 6mA modifications in pancreatic cancer, indicating that 6mA has the potential to be a target for future clinical treatment. The association between psoriasis and cardiovascular disease (CVD) has long been discussed and continually refined. However, there is currently a lack of prospective studies on the cardiovascular risk attributed to psoriasis in the United States general population. Representative adult participants were selected from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Risks of cardiovascular symptoms and diseases prevalence were evaluated between participants with and without psoriasis. The hazards for all‐cause mortality and CVD mortality were stratified by psoriasis status. Mediation analysis was then conducted to identify potential mediators between psoriasis and cardiac death. Overall, 19 741 participants were included in the current study, 542 (2.7%) had psoriasis and 19 199 (97.3%) did not have psoriasis. After adjusting for known CVD risk factors, odds for hypertension (OR = 1.37, 95% CI: 1.13–1.66, p = 0.001), hypercholesterolemia (OR = 1.37, 95% CI: 1.13–1.64, p < 0.001) and angina pectoris (OR = 1.74, 95% CI: 1.11–2.60, p = 0.011) were higher in psoriasis patients. Compared with participants without psoriasis, moderate/severe but not mild patients showed significantly higher CVD mortality (HR = 2.55, 95% CI: 1.27–5.15, p = 0.009). This result was supported by subgroup analyses. Mediation analysis further suggested that the direct effect of moderate/severe psoriasis on CVD mortality accounted for 81.4% (65.8%–97.1%). Besides, the indirect effect might derive from disturbance of serum albumin, urea nitrogen and uric acid. Moderate‐to‐severe psoriasis is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, making it necessary to regularly conduct cardiovascular disease‐related examinations for patients with higher severity of psoriasis in clinical settings. [Display omitted] Histone lysine lactylation (Kla) has emerged as a distinct epigenetic modification that differs markedly from established acylation modifications through the unique addition of a lactyl group to a lysine residue. Such modifications not only alter nucleosome structure but also significantly impact chromatin dynamics and gene expression, thus playing a crucial role in cellular metabolism, inflammatory responses, and embryonic development. The association of histone Kla with various metabolic processes, particularly glycolysis and glutamine metabolism, underscores its pivotal role in metabolic reprogramming, including in cancerous tissues, where it contributes to tumorigenesis, immune evasion, and angiogenesis. In addition, histone Kla is involved in the pathogenesis of various diseases, particularly several cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. The identification of histone Kla opens new avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting specific Kla sites. In this review, we summarize the differences between histone Kla modifications and other acylation modifications, discuss the mechanisms and roles of histone Kla in disease, and conclude by describing existing drugs and potential targets. • Closed-loop process based on ILs system efficiently recovers copper from WPCBs. • A mild ILs-H 2 O 2 leaching system enables clean leaching of copper from WPCBs. • Successfully converted copper into copper oxide nanoparticles from ILs leachate. With the increasingly prominent contradiction between the demand of the metal market and the supply of mine resources, the recovery of the waste printed circuit board (WPCBs) with high-grade metal resources and significant environmental pollution characteristics is of great significance to alleviate the shortage of copper resources and reduce environmental pollution. This study proposes a green closed-loop process for selective regeneration of copper in WPCBs based on clean leaching of ionic liquids (ILs). The copper concentrate particles were first mildly leached using an environmentally friendly ILs-H 2 O 2 leaching system, and the sulfuric acid-hydrogen peroxide (H 2 SO 4 -H 2 O 2) and glycine-hydrogen peroxide (Gly-H 2 O 2) systems were used as a reference group to verify the high efficiency of the ILs-H 2 O 2 system for leaching. Leaching kinetics was used to analyze the behavior of copper concentrate particles during leaching to clarify the leaching mechanism. The leaching results show that the ILs-H 2 O 2 system achieves efficient leaching of copper, with a maximum leaching rate of 93.56 %, similar to the H 2 SO 4 -H 2 O 2 system and slightly better than the Gly-H 2 O 2 system. The internal diffusion control model was able to accurately describe the kinetic characteristics of copper concentrate particles in the ILs-H 2 O 2 system with reaction activation energy of 11.84 kJ/mol. Subsequently, copper was recovered from the leach solution by combining oxalic acid precipitation and pyrolysis to prepare copper oxide nanoparticles, and the morphology and phases of the precipitates and pyrolysis products were analyzed by SEM and XRD. The results show that copper oxide particles of hundreds of nanometers can be successfully produced and the copper oxide nanoparticle aggregates still retain the architecture of the precursor copper oxalate particles. As a recognized safe starter, lactic acid bacteria can improve the quality characteristics of fermented sausages and ensure the safety characteristics of sausages to a certain extent. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of Lactobacillus helveticus IMAUJBH1 on lipid profiles and volatile flavor compounds of Inner Mongolia mutton fermented sausage by lipidomics and GC-MS. The results showed that a total of 2024 lipid molecules were identified, and 1135 differential lipids were screened by multivariate analysis (P < 0.05, VIP>1). Pathway topology analysis showed that glycerophospholipid metabolism, glyceride metabolism and sphingolipid metabolism pathways were the three most active pathways. Furthermore, 21 key differential lipid molecules and 5 key volatile flavor compounds were selected as characteristic substances for correlation analysis. The results of correlation study indicated that the addition of Lactobacillus helveticus IMAUJBH1 would further affect the flavor of fermented mutton sausage by affecting the relative expression of lipid molecules LPC (17:0), LPC (22:6), LPC (18:1), LPC (18:3), LPC (22:4), Cer (d18:1/16:0), and Cer (d18: 1/22:0). Pompano fishes have been widely farmed worldwide. As a representative commercial marine species of the Carangidae family, the golden pompano (Trachinotus blochii) has gained significant popularity in China and worldwide. However, because of rapid growth and high-density aquaculture, the golden pompano has become seriously threatened by various diseases. Cell lines are the most cost-effective resource for in vitro studies and are widely used for physiological and pathological research owing to their accessibility and convenience. In this study, we established a novel immortal cell line, GPF (Golden pompano fin cells). GPF has been passaged over 69 generations for 10 months. The morphology, adhesion and extension processes of GPF were evaluated using light and electron microscopy. GPF cells were passaged every 3 days with L-15 containing 20 % fetal bovine serum (FBS) at 1:3. The optimum conditions for GPF growth were 28 °C and a 20 % FBS concentration. DNA sequencing of 18S rRNA and mitochondrial 16S rRNA confirmed that GPF was derived from the golden pompano. Chromosomal analysis revealed that the number pattern of GPF was 48 chromosomes. Transfection experiments demonstrated that GPF could be utilized to express foreign genes. Furthermore, heavy metals (Cd, Cu, and Fe) exhibited dose-dependent cytotoxicity against GPF. After polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid (poly I:C) treatment, transcription of the retinoic acid-inducible gene I-like receptor (RLR) pathway genes, including mda5 , mita , tbk1 , irf3 , and irf7 increased, inducing the expression of interferon (IFN) and anti-viral proteins in GPF cells. In addition, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation up-regulated the expression of inflammation-related factors, including myd88 , irak1 , nfκb , il1β , il6 , and cxcl10 expression. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study on the immune response signaling pathways of the golden pompano using an established fin cell line. Doxorubicin (Dox) is a potent antineoplastic agent, but its use is curtailed by severe cardiotoxicity, known as Dox-induced cardiomyopathy (DIC). The molecular mechanism underlying this cardiotoxicity remains unclear. Our current study investigates the role of Ubiquitin-Specific Protease 36 (USP36), a nucleolar deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB), in the progression of DIC and its mechanism. We found increased USP36 expression in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes and H9C2 cells exposed to Dox. Silencing USP36 significantly mitigated Dox-induced oxidative stress injury and apoptosis in vitro. Mechanistically, USP36 upregulation positively correlated with Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1) expression, and its knockdown led to a reduction in PARP1 levels. Further investigation revealed that USP36 could bind to and mediate the deubiquitination of PARP1, thereby increasing its protein stability in cardiomyocytes upon Dox exposure. Moreover, overexpression of wild-type (WT) USP36 plasmid, but not its catalytically inactive mutant (C131A), stabilized PARP1 in HEK293T cells. We also established a DIC model in mice and observed significant upregulation of USP36 in the heart. Cardiac knockdown of USP36 in mice using a type 9 recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV9)-shUSP36 significantly preserved cardiac function after Dox treatment and protected against Dox-induced structural changes within the myocardium. In conclusion, these findings suggest that Dox promotes DIC progression by activating USP36-mediated PARP1 deubiquitination. Asian Americans have been identified as a racial group that is disproportionately affected by childhood trauma. The goal of this study was  to assess if religion/spirituality moderate the effects of childhood trauma on adult depressive symptoms among a sample of South Asians in the USA. Our analysis drew from the study on stress, spirituality, and health (SSSH) questionnaire fielded in the Mediators of Atherosclerosis in South Asians Living in America (MASALA) study (n = 990) during 2016–2018. A series of regression models with multiplicative interaction terms were conducted. Emotional neglect, emotional abuse, and physical neglect were associated with higher depressive symptoms. Higher religious attendance and negative religious coping techniques were found to exacerbate this relationship. There were two findings conditional on gender. Among men, gratitude and positive religious coping also exacerbated the relationship between childhood trauma and depressive symptoms. Negative religious coping also exacerbated the association between childhood trauma and depressive symptoms for women. This is the first community-based study of US South Asians to consider the association between various forms of childhood trauma and depressive symptom outcomes. South Asians remain an understudied group in the religion and health literature, and this study sheds light on the important differences in the function and effectiveness of religion/spirituality for those faced with early life trauma. Dissolved oxygen (DO) is essential for most aquatic species. Hypoxia can cause abnormal behaviors and arrested development of the golden pompano (Trachinotus blochii). Thus, it is necessary to increase the DO level to relieve hypoxic stress. However, few studies have focused on the impact of different reoxygenation rates on cultured fish. This study investigated the effects of two reoxygenation treatments on T. blochii after 12-h-hypoxia (1.9 ± 0.2 mg/L): gradual reoxygenation (GRG, increased DO level within 3 h) and rapid reoxygenation (RRG, increased DO level within 10 mins). The result of microRNA (miRNA) sequencing showed that miR-122 was the most abundant miRNA in the liver, which was similar to other teleosts, confirming that miRNAs are highly conserved. Our results revealed that in the RRG treatment, the downregulated expression of miR-34a-5p increased the expression of Casp9 , improving cell survival. The downregulated expression of miR-2188-3p increased the expression of MDM2 , regulating apoptosis. The high expression of miR-144-5p downregulated NF-κB , regulating immune responses. In contrast, in the GRG treatment, miR-34a-5p promoted the expression of ALDOA to accelerate the anaerobic metabolism. The low expression of miR-2188-3p enhanced aerobic metabolism by increasing the expression of VEGFA. The miR-34a-5p, miR-144-5p, and miR-2188-3p in the liver adjusted hypoxic stress by regulating apoptosis and cell survival and increasing the anaerobic metabolism. Our results indicate that different reoxygenation rates correspond to different miRNA adaptation strategies. Additionally, this study provides a new perspective for further studying the effect of miRNA on the reoxygenation rate and the resulting influence on the golden pompano after hypoxic stress.
