Purpose: Fear of progression (FoP) leads to poor clinical outcomes in colorectal cancer patients. The study aimed to clarify the profiles and influencing factors of FoP among colorectal cancer patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 409 colorectal cancer patients. Convenience sampling method was used to select colorectal cancer patients hospitalized in a tertiary-level hospital in Nanjing as the survey subjects. General information questionnaire, Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form, Distress Disclosure Index, and Social Support Rating Scale were used to collect the data. Latent profile analysis was used to explore the latent profiles of FoP in colorectal cancer patients. Additionally, the influencing factors of profiles were explored by Univariate Analysis and Binomial Logistic Regression Analysis. Results: Latent profile analysis identified two subgroups of fear of disease progression: the “fear low-risk profile (83%)”, and the “severe fear profile (17%).” Patients with low age, low social support utilization, first hospital admission, severe healthcare burden, and preoperative bowel symptoms were prone to severe fear of disease progression. Conclusions: There is some heterogeneity in the level of postoperative fear of disease progression in colorectal cancer patients. Doctors and nurses should focus on patients with severe fear and take targeted preventive and psychological care for patients’ fear of disease progression as early as possible according to the distribution characteristics of different categories. We report an unprecedented Ni‐catalyzed direct monofluoromethylthiolation of acyl chlorides, in situ generated from carboxylic acids, with elemental sulfur (S8) as the S source and fluoroiodomethane (ICH2F) as the CH2F radical source to produce a series of monofluoromethylthioesters in moderate to good yields. This approach features excellent functional group tolerance and broad substrate scope. High-volume fraction silicon carbide particle-reinforced aluminum (SiCp/Al) has a promising application for its high specific strength, wear resistance, and thermal conductivity. However, SiCp/Al components with a high-volume fraction are prone to poor surface quality and defects such as fractures, cracks, and micro-pits. It has been reported that ultrasonic-assisted grinding machining (UAG) helps to improve the quality of SiCp/Al machined surfaces. However, the differences between SiCp/Al with different volume fractions obtained by UAG machining are not clear. Therefore, a comparative study of surface roughness, morphology, and cutting force was carried out by UAG machining on SiCp/Al samples with volume fractions of 45% and 60%. Compared to the 45% volume fraction SiCp/Al, the 60% volume fraction SiCp/Al has a higher cutting force and roughness under the same machining parameters. In addition, experiments have shown that cutting forces and surface roughness can be reduced by increasing the tool speed or decreasing the feed rate. UAG machining with an ultrasonic amplitude within 4 μm can also reduce cutting forces and surface roughness. However, more than 6 μm ultrasonic amplitude may lead to an increase in roughness. Prokaryotes play a fundamental role in global ocean biogeochemical cycles. However, how the abundance and metabolic activity of ecologically distinct subgroups (i.e., high nucleic acid (HNA) and low nucleic acid (LNA) cells), and their regulating factors, change in response to changing marine environmental conditions remains poorly understood. Here, we delved into the time-evolving dynamic responses of the HNA and LNA prokaryotic subgroups to declining resource availability and selective grazing by protozoa by conducting a 73-day incubation experiment in a large-volume (117,000 L) macrocosm that facilitates community-level exploration. We found that the metabolic activity of the HNA subgroup was higher than that of the LNA subgroup when the macrocosm was resource replete but that the HNA subgroup declined more rapidly than the LNA subgroup as the resources became increasingly scarce, leading to a steadily increasing contribution of LNA cells to prokaryotic activity. Meanwhile, as resources in the macrocosm became limited, protozoan grazing preference shifted from the HNA to the LNA subgroup and the contributions of the LNA subgroup to the carbon flow within the macrocosm increased. The findings highlight the resilience of LNA cells in resource-limited environments, illuminate the critical role of selective grazing by protozoa in balancing distinct prokaryotic subgroups under changing resource conditions, and demonstrate the complex and adaptive interactions between protozoa and prokaryotes across diverse environmental contexts. Summary This article handles the probability‐guaranteed state estimation problem for a class of nonlinear memristive neural networks (MNNs) by using an event‐triggered mechanism. Both time‐varying delays and incomplete measurements are considered in the MNNs dynamics. To mitigate the impact of limited communication bandwidth, a communication protocol is proposed that incorporates an encoding–decoding technique in addition to an event‐triggered scheme. The aim is to devise a state estimator that can estimate the states of MNNs, ensuring that the state estimation error falls within the required ellipsoidal area with a desired chance. We obtain sufficient conditions for the feasibility of the addressed problem, where the requested gains can be found iteratively by solving certain convex optimization problems. On the basis of the proposed framework, some issues are further presented to determine locally optimal estimator parameters according to different specifications. The innovative arc pressure testing method (APTM) is adopted in this study to obtain the strength of in situ concrete and reduce damage to the concrete structure. This method is related to the double shear plane of the concrete core. A specific APTM apparatus is used to apply loads in order to obtain the approximate pure shear stress and shear strength of the concrete core. Factors affecting the strength of concrete, such as aggregate type and concrete moisture, were found not to have an impact of the applicability of APTM. The compressive strength range of the tested cube concrete samples is 20–60 MPa. The reliability and repeatability of APTM are superior to in situ testing techniques such as Schmidt hammer (SRH) and pull-off testing methods. The experimental results indicate that APTM is suitable for in situ testing of concrete compressive strength of prefabricated buildings and beam–column joints in dense steel structures. Background: Results of research on radiological hallmarks of multiple sclerosis (MS) fatigue have been conflicting. Objective: To investigate the associations of lesion and brain compartment volumes with fatigue severity and persistence in people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). Methods: The Multiple Sclerosis Partners Advancing Technology and Health Solutions (MS PATHS) network collects standardized data during routine care of PwMS from 10 healthcare institutions. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) predictors included baseline brain parenchymal (BPF) and gray matter fractions (GMF) and T2 lesion volume (T2LV). The Quality of Life in Neurological Disorders (Neuro-QOL) fatigue subscore was analyzed linearly and categorically using T-score cutpoints, with a period of elevated symptoms defined as T-score ⩾ mean + 0.5 SD over follow-up. Results: At baseline, of 4012 participants (average age: 45.6 ± 11.8 years; 73% female; 31% progressive MS), 2058 (51%) had no fatigue, 629 (16%) had mild fatigue, and 1325 (33%) had moderate-to-severe fatigue. One SD greater baseline BPF and GMF were associated with 0.83 (p < 0.001) and 0.38 (p = 0.02) lower values in the baseline Neuro-QOL fatigue T-score. A 1 SD lower log of total T2LV was associated with a 0.49 (p < 0.001) lower baseline fatigue T-score. Higher BPF and lower T2LV at baseline were associated with lower odds of subsequent periods of elevated fatigue. Conclusion: Baseline lesion burden and lower generalized whole-brain volumes were associated with MS fatigue in cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses in a large, real-world cohort of PwMS. Anti‐virulence therapy that interferes with bacterial communication, known as "quorum sensing (QS)", is a promising strategy for circumventing bacterial resistance. Using nanomaterials to regulate bacterial QS in anti‐virulence therapy has attracted much attention, which is mainly attributed to unique physicochemical properties and excellent designability of nanomaterials. However, bacterial QS is a dynamic and multistep process, and there are significant differences in the specific regulatory mechanisms and related influencing factors of nanomaterials in different steps of the QS process. An in‐depth understanding of the specific regulatory mechanisms and related influencing factors of nanomaterials in each step can significantly optimize QS regulatory activity and enhance the development of novel nanomaterials with better comprehensive performance. Therefore, this review focuses on the mechanisms by which nanomaterials regulate bacterial QS in the signal supply (including signal synthesis, secretion, and accumulation) and signal transduction cascade (including signal perception and response) processes. Moreover, based on the two key influencing factors (i.e., the nanomaterial itself and the environment), optimization strategies to enhance the QS regulatory activity are comprehensively summarized. Collectively, applying nanomaterials to regulate bacterial QS is a promising strategy for anti‐virulence therapy. Phosphor‐converted near‐infrared (NIR) LEDs are becoming increasingly demanded as miniature, portability, and broad emission spectrum. In this work, a class of Fe3+‐activated double perovskite structured is reported ALaBB′O6 (A = Ba, Sr, Ca; B–B′ = Li–Te, Mg–Sb) phosphors. Through the co‐substitution strategy at the A‐site and B‐B' sites, the emission spectral intensity and position of Fe3+ ions can be tuned. Finally, by utilizing Ca2+ at the A‐site and Mg–Sb co‐substitution for Li–Te, long‐wave NIR emission centered at 995 nm in CaLaMgSbO6: 0.6%Fe3+ with a full width at half maximum of 147 nm and internal quantum efficiency of 54.05% is achieved. The effects of the double perovskite crystal structure on Fe3+ photoluminescence properties are comprehensively analyzed. NIR LEDs are fabricated by encapsulating UV chips with the synthetic CaLaMgSbO6: 0.6%Fe3+ phosphors, and their application value in night vision, nondestructive biological monitoring, and NIR detection is evaluated. Objective: To describe the clinical features of a cohort of individuals with stiff person syndrome spectrum disorders (SPSD) and identify potential early predictors of future disability. Background: There is a need to better understand the full spectrum of clinical and paraclinical features and long-term impact of SPSD. Design/Methods: Observational study from 1997 to 2022 at Johns Hopkins. Clinical phenotypes included classic SPS, partial SPS (limb or trunk limited), SPS-plus (classic features plus cerebellar/brainstem involvement), and progressive encephalomyelitis with rigidity and myoclonus (PERM). Outcome measures were modified Rankin scale (mRS) and use of assistive device for ambulation. Multivariate logistic regression was used to assess significant predictors of outcomes. Results: Cohort included 227 individuals with SPSD with mean follow-up of 10 years; 154 classic, 48 SPS-plus, 16 PERM, and 9 partial. Mean age at symptom onset was 42.9 ± 14.1 years, majority were white (69.2%) and female (75.8%). Median time to diagnosis was 36.2 months (longest for SPS-plus and PERM) and 61.2% were initially misdiagnosed. Most had systemic co-morbidities and required assistive devices for ambulation. Female sex (OR 2.08; CI 1.06–4.11) and initial brainstem/cerebellar involvement (OR 4.41; CI 1.63–14.33) predicted worse outcome by mRS. Older age at symptom onset (OR 1.04; CI 1.01–1.06), female sex (OR 1.99; CI 1.01–4.01), Black race (OR 4.14; CI 1.79–10.63), and initial brainstem/cerebellar involvement (OR 2.44; CI 1.04–7.19) predicted worse outcome by use of assistive device. Early implementation of immunotherapy was associated with better outcomes by either mRS (OR 0.45; CI 0.22–0.92) or use of assistive device (OR 0.79; CI 0.66–0.94). Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by multi-organ multi-system inflammation, causing severe damage to various organs or systems. Recent studies have shown that miR-155 can affect the progression of Lupus Nephritis via regulating TNF-a. The present study aims to explore the roles of MIR155HG and TNF-a in the evaluation of prognosis of patients with SLE, so as to provide a basis for clinical work. Methods: A total of 130 patients with SLE admitted to our hospital were selected, were selected from June 2015 to December 2017., and the SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) score was given. 1 he expressions of MIR155HG and 1 NF-a were detected via quantitative reverse transcription-polyme-rase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), the incidence of complications during treatment was observed, and the associations of MIR155HG and TNF-a with SLEDAI before treatment and complications were analyzed. All patients were followed up after discharge, and the related factors to the prognosis of patients were analyzed via Cox regression analysis. Results: The levels of MIR155HG and TNF-a were higher in patients with an SLEDAI score of 10-14 points than those in patients with an SLEDAI score of 5-9 points and 0-4 points. MIR155HG and TNF-a were positively correlated with the incidence of infection, renal damage and cardiac damage (r=0.623, 0.533 and 0.621; r=0.431, 0.498 and 0.552) (P<0.05). Moreover, there was also a positive correlation (r=0.3398, PcO.001) between the expressions of serum MIR155HG and TNF-a in SLE patients. SLEDAI score Ž10 points, complications during hospitalization, and highly-expressed MIR155HG and TNF-a were risk factors related to the prognosis of patients. Conclusions: MIR155HG and TNF-a affect the activity of SLE, and the high expressions of them promote the occurrence of such complications as infection, renal damage and cardiac damage, harming the prognosis. In the autonomous navigation of mobile robots, precise positioning is crucial. In forest environments with weak satellite signals or in sites disturbed by complex environments, satellite positioning accuracy has difficulty in meeting the requirements of autonomous navigation positioning accuracy for robots. This article proposes a vision SLAM/UWB tightly coupled localization method and designs a UWB non-line-of-sight error identification method using the displacement increment of the visual odometer. It utilizes the displacement increment of visual output and UWB ranging information as measurement values and applies the extended Kalman filtering algorithm for data fusion. This study utilized the constructed experimental platform to collect images and ultra-wideband ranging data in outdoor environments and experimentally validated the combined positioning method. The experimental results show that the algorithm outperforms individual UWB or loosely coupled combination positioning methods in terms of positioning accuracy. To address the issues of reduced performance and shortened lifespan during the low-carbonizating process of Al2O3-C refractories, nano-crystalline ZrC modified graphite was prepared using Zr powder and flake graphite as raw materials, with NaCl and NaF mixed salt serving as the medium. The flake graphite was gradually replaced by ZrC modified graphite in the preparation of Al2O3-C refractories, and its impact on the material's structure and properties was investigated. The results indicate that, compared to samples with only flake graphite, the introduction of 1 mass % to 5 mass % nano-crystalline ZrC modified graphite can significantly enhance the mechanical performance of low-carbon Al2O3-C refractories. When 5 mass % ZrC modified graphite is added, the mechanical properties of the samples are optimal, with the cold modulus of rupture and elastic modulus reaching 22.5 MPa and 65.0 GPa, respectively. An economical and stable single-shot pulse picker design without dispersion, nonlinear effect, and limitation on wavelength is proposed. This design is composed of a periodic pulse blocker (PPB), a control unit, and a mechanical shutter. It has successfully been applied to the commercial high-fluence femtosecond laser with 11-mm beam diameter, 2-mJ pulse energy, and 1-kHz repetition rate. Significantly, by incorporating commercial optical choppers equipped with custom-designed chopper blades in the PPB, this design can accommodate lasers with fluences reaching 610 mJ/cm2 and the standard 1 kHz repetition rate typical of high-fluence lasers. A burgeoning interest has recently focused on the development of nanomedicine to integrate noninvasive photothermal therapy (PTT) and chemodynamic therapy (CDT) for synergistic tumor treatments, owing to PTT's amplification effect on CDT. However, challenges emerge as hyperthermia often induces an unwarranted overexpression of cytoprotective heat shock proteins (HSPs), thereby curtailing PTT efficacy. Additionally, the nearly neutral tumor intracellular pH (pH i ≈ 7.2) that handicaps the Fenton reaction poses a leading limitation to CDT. Addressing these hurdles, we introduce EVP, a nanomedicine developed through the straightforward assembly of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), vanadium sulfate (VOSO 4), and Pluronic F-127 (PF127). EVP comprehensively downregulates overexpressed HSPs (HSP 60, 70, 90) through the collaborative action of EGCG and vanadyl (VO2+). Moreover, the tumor intracellular pH-processed Fenton-like reaction by VO2+ ensures highly efficient hydroxyl radicals (OH) production in cytosols, overcoming the stringent acidity requirement for CDT. Additionally, the hyperthermia induced by PTT augments OH production, further enhancing CDT efficacy. Polyethersulfone (PES) has widespread applications due to its excellent processability, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance. Nevertheless, its hydrophobic nature often leads to severe fouling and permeance decline. To improve the hydrophilicity of PES membranes, polymer blending is one of the most common methods. In this work, a series of sulfonated polyphenylene sulfones (sPPSU) with 1.9, 4.5, 8.2, 12.7, 19 degrees of sulfonation (DS) were synthesized and used to blend with PES. The PES/sPPSU blends were found to be compatible by calculating their theoretical enthalpy of mixing and measuring their glass transition temperatures (T g 's) at a blend weight ratio of 1:1. Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes were cast using the nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method. It was found that 50/50 PES/sPPSU blend membranes with a DS equaling to or exceeding 8.2 eliminated finger-like macrovoids, resulting in a thinner and tight cross-sectional structure. A higher DS of sPPSU rendered the blend membranes with more hydrophilicity and oleophobicity as well as a more negatively charged surface. The unmodified PES membrane had rejections of 87.47 % and 91.5 % in ultrafiltration tests using feed solutions containing BSA and oil/water emulsion, respectively. The rejections could be further increased to 99.37 % and 97.17 % respectively by the blend membranes. The blend membranes consisting of a higher DS of sPPSU also exhibited a higher permeance, lower BSA absorption and better anti-fouling properties than the PES membrane. Propagating Lüders bands with pronounced strain localization are often observed in medium-Mn transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) steels, which adversely limits the application of such alloys in engineering structures. The present work aims to understand this phenomenon from a dislocation-based perspective, with a focus on the specific role of dislocation multiplication. The material studied is a typical dual-phase medium-Mn steel with a ferrite matrix and a second phase of retained austenite. A warm-rolling process was used as a pre-straining approach to adjust the microstructure of the material, such that materials with two different microstructural states can be obtained: as-received material and pre-strained material. They show distinct differences in initial dislocation density. Stress-controlled rather than conventional strain-controlled tensile testing was adopted, which allowed the Lüders band to develop in an unconstrained manner. In this way, the intrinsic Lüders-strain-rate can be obtained. The results show that the Lüders band-related mechanical parameters, including Lüders strain, Lüders-strain-rate and yield stress drop, all depend on the initial microstructure state and the dislocation evolution process during Lüders band formation. In particular, Lüders-strain-rate is a critical microstructure-sensitive factor. It is closely related to the dislocation multiplication in the formation of Lüders band, which can be characterized and quantified using scanning transmission electron microscope and synchrotron X-ray diffraction. Finally, a quantitative relationship between Lüders-strain-rate and dislocation multiplication rate is established, which allows providing a better understanding of the exceptional Lüders band phenomenon in medium-Mn steels. This paper presents an experimental investigation of the failure behavior of SiC fiber-reinforced SiC matrix (SiC/SiC) composite tubes under multiaxial loading. A new testing apparatus is designed to independently apply axial stress and internal pressure to SiC/SiC tubes. Acoustic emission (AE) is used to monitor the damage growth in the specimen. Based on the measured stress–strain response, a strain-based criterion is proposed to determine the proportional limit stress (PLS). The proposed strain-based criterion is compared with the PLS determined by the AE measurement. The PLS is determined for different loading ratios to form a multiaxial failure surface. By testing multiple replicates, the statistical variations of the PLS are determined. Based on the experimental results, a mathematical model is developed to characterize the probability distribution of the PLS of SiC/SiC composites under multiaxial loading. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Federated Learning (FL) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for training Machine Learning (ML), particularly Deep Learning (DL) models on multiple devices or servers while maintaining data localized at owners' sites. Without centralizing data, FL holds promise for scenarios where data integrity, privacy and security and are critical. However, this decentralized training process also opens up new avenues for opponents to launch unique attacks, where it has been becoming an urgent need to understand the vulnerabilities and corresponding defense mechanisms from a learning algorithm perspective. This review paper takes a comprehensive look at malicious attacks against FL, categorizing them from new perspectives on attack origins and targets, and providing insights into their methodology and impact. In this survey, we focus on threat models targeting the learning process of FL systems. Based on the source and target of the attack, we categorize existing threat models into four types, Data to Model (D2M), Model to Data (M2D), Model to Model (M2M) and composite attacks. For each attack type, we discuss the defense strategies proposed, highlighting their effectiveness, assumptions and potential areas for improvement. Defense strategies have evolved from using a singular metric to excluding malicious clients, to employing a multifaceted approach examining client models at various phases. In this survey paper, our research indicates that the to-learn data, the learning gradients, and the learned model at different stages all can be manipulated to initiate malicious attacks that range from undermining model performance, reconstructing private local data, and to inserting backdoors. We have also seen these threat are becoming more insidious. While earlier studies typically amplified malicious gradients, recent endeavors subtly alter the least significant weights in local models to bypass defense measures. This literature review provides a holistic understanding of the current FL threat landscape and highlights the importance of developing robust, efficient, and privacy-preserving defenses to ensure the safe and trusted adoption of FL in real-world applications. Non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC) account for 85 % of total lung cancers. Mutation in EGFR drives the progress of NSCLSs with high mortality rate. Besides the common mutations in EGFR, which together comprise of 85 % of all EGFR mutations and respond to the targeted therapy of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), many other low-frequency mutations of EGFR are existed in patients. The oncogenic roles and sensitivity of these mutations to EGFR TKIs are not fully understood yet. Here we described two cases of lung adenocarcinoma patients harboring EGFR R776L missense mutation, showed PD and SD after treatment with third-generation EGFR inhibitor, Almonertinib. Chemotherapy afterward showed PR effect in one patient with PSF of 10 months. We also explored the oncogenic feature of single R776L mutation by Ba/F3 isogenic cells and found that, EGFR R776L mutation activates EGFR-related survival signaling pathway in Ba/F3 cells, and they are insensitive to gefitinib, afatinib, and Almonertinib, which consistent with our clinical observation. Background: Oncologic surgical resection is the standard of care for extremity and truncal soft tissue sarcoma (STS), often accompanied by the addition of pre- or postoperative radiation therapy (RT). Preoperative RT may decrease the risk of joint stiffness and fibrosis at the cost of higher rates of wound complications. Hypofractionated, preoperative RT has been shown to provide acceptable outcomes in prospective trials. Proton beam therapy (PBT) provides the means to decrease dose to surrounding organs at risk, such as the skin, bone, soft tissues, and adjacent joint(s), and has not yet been studied in patients with extremity and truncal sarcoma. Methods: Our study titled "PROspective phase II trial of preoperative hypofractionated protoN therapy for extremity and Truncal soft tissue sarcOma (PRONTO)" is a non-randomized, prospective phase II trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of preoperative, hypofractionated PBT for patients with STS of the extremity and trunk planned for surgical resection. Adult patients with Eastern Cooperative Group Performance Status ≤ 2 with resectable extremity and truncal STS will be included, with the aim to accrue 40 patients. Treatment will consist of 30 Gy radiobiological equivalent of PBT in 5 fractions delivered every other day, followed by surgical resection 2–12 weeks later. The primary outcome is rate of major wound complications as defined according to the National Cancer Institute of Canada Sarcoma2 (NCIC-SR2) Multicenter Trial. Secondary objectives include rate of late grade ≥ 2 toxicity, local recurrence-free survival and distant metastasis-free survival at 1- and 2-years, functional outcomes, quality of life, and pathologic response. Discussion: PRONTO represents the first trial evaluating the use of hypofractionated PBT for STS. We aim to prove the safety and efficacy of this approach and to compare our results to historical outcomes established by previous trials. Given the low number of proton centers and limited availability, the short course of PBT may provide the opportunity to treat patients who would otherwise be limited when treating with daily RT over several weeks. We hope that this trial will lead to increased referral patterns, offer benefits towards patient convenience and clinic workflow efficiency, and provide evidence supporting the use of PBT in this setting. Over the past decade, the advancement of digital technology has significantly enhanced operations management in complex cyber-physical systems (CPSs), especially in the production and manufacturing sectors. In such systems, the physical and cyber spaces are generally connected through sensors, networking, and control actions. With the surge in available real-time data, automation and intelligence have become increasingly prevalent. However, full automation and sophisticated intelligence often remain challenging to achieve in real-world CPSs. Currently, many practical tasks in CPSs are best tackled through the integration of human cognitive skills with autonomous systems, highlighting the indispensable role that humans play in these settings. In this study, we present a framework for real-time decision-making and control in complex cyber-physical-human systems. The framework consists of three main modules: intelligent data processing, intelligent decision-making and control, and human-computer interaction. It is designed to provide a practical and implementable framework for supporting real-time decision-making and control in cyber-physical-human system applications. To demonstrate the applicability of the framework, we build a comprehensive decision support tool to manage several important real-time decision-making and control tasks at a container terminal. The tool is seamlessly integrated into the main operating system of the container terminal and aids decision-makers in making optimal decisions and generating appropriate control actions. Many insect taxa cultivate fungi for food. Compared to well-known fungus cultivation in social insects, our knowledge on fungus cultivation in nonsocial insects is still limited. Here, we studied the nutritional potentials of the fungal cultivar, Penicillium herquei, for the larvae of its nonsocial insect farmer, Euops chinensis, a specialist on Japanese knotweed Reynoutria japonica. Overall, fungal hyphae and leaf rolls contained significantly higher carbon (C), stable isotopes of C (d13C), and nitrogen (d15N) but significantly lower C/N ratios compared to unrolled leaves, whereas insect bodies contained significantly higher N contents but lower C and C/N ratios compared to other types of samples. The MixSIAR model indicated that fungal hyphae contributed a larger proportion (0.626-0.797) to the diet of E. chinensis larvae than leaf materials. The levels of ergosterol, six essential amino acids, seven nonessential amino acids, and three B vitamins tested in fungal hyphae and/or leaf rolls were significantly higher than in unrolled leaves and/or larvae. The P. herquei genome contains the complete set of genes required for the biosynthesis of ergosterol, the essential amino acids valine and threonine, nine nonessential amino acids, and vitamins B2 and B3, whereas some genes associated with five essential and one nonessential amino acid were lost in the P. herquei genome. These suggest that P. herquei is capable of providing the E. chinensis larvae food with ergosterol, amino acids, and B vitamins. P. herquei appears to be able to synthesize or concentrate these nutrients considering that they were specifically concentrated in fungal hyphae. IMPORTANCE The cultivation of fungi for food has occurred across divergent insect lineages such as social ants, termites, and ambrosia beetles, as well as some seldomreported solitary insects. Although the fungal cultivars of these insects have been studied for decades, the dietary potential of fungal cultivars for their hosts (especially for those nonsocial insects) is largely unknown. Our research on the mutualistic system Euops chinensis-Penicillium herquei represents an example of the diverse nutritional potentials of the fungal cultivar P. herquei in the diet of the larvae of its solitary host, E. chinensis. These results demonstrate that P. herquei has the potential to synthesize or concentrate ergosterol, amino acids, and B vitamins and benefits the larvae of E. chinensis. Our findings would shed light on poorly understood fungal cultivation mutualisms in nonsocial insects and underscore the nutritional importance of fungal cultivars in fungal cultivation mutualisms. Context • Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a form of persistent heart failure. If a patient develops depression, it can worsen the severity of heart failure and can lead to adverse outcomes. No researchers have studied the effects of tonic heart qi soup for patients with CHF and depression. Objective • The study intended to evaluate the clinical efficacy of tonic heart qi soup in the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF) for patients with comorbid depression. Design • The research team performed a prospective randomized controlled trial Setting • The study took place in the Department of Chinese Medicine at Cangzhou Central Hospital in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, China. Participants • Participants were 120 patients with CHF at the hospital as inpatients or outpatients between January 2016 and January 2019. Intervention • The research team divided participants into two groups, with 60 patients each: (1) an intervention group, which received conventional Western medical treatment combined with treatment with a commercial tonic heart qi soup and (2) a control group, which received conventional Western medical treatment only. Outcome Measures • The research team measured: (1) treatment efficacy, (2) cardiac function, (3) adverse reactions, (4) B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and Ghrelin, and (5) depression. Results • In the intervention group, 55 participants showed significant improvement in the degree of heart failure, for a total effectiveness rate of 91.67%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (P = .000). The intervention group had 10 participants in class II, 18 in class III, and 22 in class IV. Among them, 28 participants improved, indicating significantly better outcomes than those of the control group. The intervention group’s BNP levels, at 1031.58 ± 118.83 pg/ml, and ghrelin levels, at 481.46 ± 57.53%, were significantly lower than those of the control group. No liver- or renal-function damage, insomnia, or significant adverse reactions occurred for either group. The intervention group’s total incidence rate for adverse reactions, at 1.67%, was significantly lower than that of the control group, at 11.67% (P = .000) and also had a higher total effective rate in reducing depression, at 86.67%, compared to that of the control group, at 43.33%. Conclusions • Heart Qi Tonic Tang, as an adjunctive therapy, significantly improved outcomes for CHF patients with depression. Due to the huge difference in the solubility‐product constants (Ksp) between the precipitates of Lu and Al, the synthesis of lutetium aluminum garnet (Lu3Al5O12, LuAG) nanopowders by coprecipitation method is prone to Lu loss, resulting in the creation of Al2O3 secondary phase. In this work, coprecipitated (Ce0.001Ca0.0015Lu(0.9975+x%))3Al5O12 (x = 0, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5) nanopowders with different starting stoichiometries are synthesized and combined with vacuum pre‐sintering and hot‐isostatic pressing to fabricate scintillating ceramics. The effect of compensated Lu content on the phase composition, microstructure, optical properties, and scintillation performance of ceramics is analyzed. The complete elimination of the secondary phase requires an additional compensation of 1.2% of Lu, which gives the best transmittance in ceramics. Tb3Al5O12 (TAG) ceramics with high optical quality were fabricated successfully by a solid‐state reaction method combined with hot isostatic pressing (HIP) post‐treatment. The microstructure, optical transmittance, Verdet constant, and thermo‐optical properties were investigated. The obtained TAG ceramics showed a dense microstructure, and the in‐line transmittance reached 82.8% at 1070 nm after laser‐grade polishing. The Verdet constant of TAG ceramics was measured to be 50.9 rad·T1·m−1 at 1070 nm, which is higher than that of commercial Tb3Ga5O12 crystals. The Faraday isolator based on TAG ceramics can provide an isolation ratio of 30 dB with a laser power of more than 1 kW. The Co 3 O 4 as anode for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) suffers the sluggish electrode kinetics and severe capacity fade during the cycles. The defective engineering of Co 3 O 4 with oxygen/cobalt defects is an effective strategy to optimize Co 3 O 4 with enhanced electrochemical properties. Herein, a series of 3D inter-connected Co 3- x O 4 @C- y nanostructures with abundant Co defects are synthesized through a hydrothermal approach with subsequent heating-controlled process. Phosphors with multi-wavelength response and multi-color luminescence properties play an important role in application of multi-mode optical anti-counterfeiting. In this paper, Ba 2 MgSi 2 O 7 : Eu2+/Eu3+ phosphor with self-reducing effect was synthesized by high-temperature solid-state method in air atmosphere. And by co-doping monovalent ions K+/Na+/Li+, the self-reduction of Eu3+ can be partially inhibited and the controllable regulation of the Eu2+/Eu3+ concentration ratio in the matrix crystal is achieved. Due to the large overlap of Eu2+ and Eu3+ excitation spectra, by selectively exciting Eu2+ or Eu3+, or simultaneously exciting Eu2+ and Eu3+, the luminescence color of Ba 2 MgSi 2 O 7 : Eu2+/Eu3+ phosphor can be tuned from red to yellow and then to green. Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPSs) are caused by a deficiency in the enzymes needed to degrade glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in the lysosome. The storage of GAGs leads to the involvement of several systems and even to the death of the patient. In recent years, an increasing number of therapies have increased the treatment options available to patients. Early treatment is beneficial in improving the prognosis, but children with MPSs are often delayed in their diagnosis. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a method for early screening and diagnosis of the disease. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is an analytical method that can detect multiple substrates or enzymes simultaneously. GAGs are reliable markers of MPSs. MS/MS can be used to screen children at an early stage of the disease, to improve prognosis by treating them before symptoms appear, to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, and for metabolomic analysis or to find suitable biomarkers. Background: For patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT), namely, intensifying preoperative treatment through the integration of radiotherapy and systemic chemotherapy before surgery, was commonly recommended as the standard treatment. However, the risk of distant metastasis at 3 years remained higher than 20%, and the complete response (CR) rate was less than 30%. Several clinical trials had suggested a higher complete response rate when combining single-agent immunotherapy with short-course radiotherapy (SCRT). The CheckMate 142 study had shown encouraging outcomes of dual immunotherapy and seemingly comparable toxicity for CRC compared with single-agent immunotherapy in historical results. Therefore, dual immunotherapy might be more feasible in conjunction with the TNT paradigm of SCRT. We performed a phase II study to investigate whether the addition of a dual immune checkpoint inhibitor bispecific antibody, Cadonilimab, to SCRT combined with chemotherapy might further increase the clinical benefit and prognosis for LARC patients. Methods: This single-arm, multicenter, prospective, phase II study included patients with pathologically confirmed cT3-T4N0 or cT2-4N + rectal adenocarcinoma with an ECOG performance score of 0 or 1. Bispecific antibody immunotherapy was added to SCRT combined with chemotherapy. Patients enrolled would be treated with SCRT (25 Gy in five fractions over 1 week) for the pelvic cavity, followed by 4 cycles of CAPOX or 6 cycles of mFOLFOX and Cadonilimab. The primary endpoint was the CR rate, which was the ratio of the pathological CR rate plus the clinical CR rate. The secondary endpoints included local–regional control, distant metastasis, disease-free survival, overall survival, toxicity profile, quality of life and functional outcome of the rectum. To detect an increase in the complete remission rate from 21.8% to 40% with 80% power, 50 patients were needed. Discussion: This study would provide evidence on the efficacy and safety of SCRT plus bispecific antibody immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with LARC, which might be used as a candidate potential therapy in the future. Fe-~30 at.%Pd is a ferromagnetic shape memory alloy (SMA) with a reversible thermoelastic fcc-fct phase transformation. The advantage of adding a small amount of Indium to Fe-Pd SMAs is, among other things, the upward shift of the transformation temperatures, which allows us to maintain the material in the martensitic state (fct structure) at room temperature. In this work, we study the microstructure and the magnetic properties of nominally Fe67.6-Pd32-In0.4 (at.%) melt-spun ribbons. Energy-dispersive spectroscopy analysis showed a certain level of non-uniformity of Indium distribution in the as-spun ribbon. However, the attempt to homogenize the ribbon by annealing at 1273 K for 120 h resulted in an unfavoured structural change to bct martensite. Magneto strains induced by a 9 kOe magnetic field reached over 400 ppm for certain field orientations, which is around four times more than the magneto strains of near-binary Fe-Pd shape memory alloys. Objectives: To establish a three-dimensional finite element model of the upper palate, pharyngeal cavity, and levator veli palatini muscle in patients with unilateral complete cleft palate, simulate two surgical procedures that the two-flap method and Furlow reverse double Z method, observe the stress distribution of the upper palate soft tissue and changes in pharyngeal cavity area after different surgical methods, and verify the accuracy of the model by reconstructing and measuring the levator veli palatini muscle. Materials and methods: Mimics, Geomagic, Ansys, and Hypermesh were applied to establish three-dimensional finite element models of the pharyngeal cavity, upper palate, and levator veli palatini muscle in patients with unilateral complete cleft palate. The parameters including length, angle, and cross-sectional area of the levator veli palatini muscle etc. were measured in Mimics, and two surgical procedures that two-flap method and Furlow reverse double Z method were simulated in Ansys, and the area of pharyngeal cavity was measured by hypermesh. Results: A three-dimensional finite element model of the upper palate, pharyngeal cavity, and bilateral levator veli palatini muscle was established in patients with unilateral complete cleft palate ; The concept of horizontal projection characteristics of the palatal dome was applied to the finite element simulation of cleft palate surgery, vividly simulating the displacement and elastic stretching of the two flap method and Furlow reverse double Z method during the surgical process; The areas with the highest stress in the two-flap method and Furlow reverse double Z method both occur in the hard soft palate junction area; In resting state, as measured, the two flap method can narrow the pharyngeal cavity area by 50.9%, while the Furlow reverse double Z method can narrow the pharyngeal cavity area by 65.4%; The measurement results of the levator veli palatini muscle showed no significant difference compared to previous studies, confirming the accuracy of the model. Conclusions: The finite element method was used to establish a model to simulate the surgical procedure, which is effective and reliable. The area with the highest postoperative stress for both methods is the hard soft palate junction area, and the stress of the Furlow reverse double Z method is lower than that of the two-flap method. The anatomical conditions of pharyngeal cavity of Furlow reverse double Z method are better than that of two-flap method in the resting state. Background: As a prodromal stage of dementia, significant emphasis has been placed on the identification of modifiable risks of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Research has indicated a correlation between exposure to air pollution and cognitive function in older adults. However, few studies have examined such an association among the MCI population inChina. Objective: We aimed to explore the association between air pollution exposure and MCI risk from the Hubei Memory and Aging Cohort Study. Methods: We measured four pollutants from 2015 to 2018, 3 years before the cognitive assessment of the participants. Logistic regression models were employed to calculate odds ratios (ORs) to assess the relationship between air pollutants and MCI risk. Results: Among 4,205 older participants, the adjusted ORs of MCI risk for the highest quartile of PM2.5, PM10, O3, and SO2 were 1.90 (1.39, 2.62), 1.77 (1.28, 2.47), 0.56 (0.42, 0.75), and 1.18 (0.87, 1.61) respectively, compared with the lowest quartile. Stratified analyses indicated that such associations were found in both males and females, but were more significant in older participants. Conclusions: Our findings are consistent with the growing evidence suggesting that air pollution increases the risk of mild cognitive decline, which has considerable guiding significance for early intervention of dementia in the older population. Alphacoronaviruses are the primary coronaviruses responsible for causing severe economic losses in the pig industry with the potential to cause human outbreaks. Currently, extensive studies have reported the essential role of endosomal sorting and transport complexes (ESCRT) in the life cycle of enveloped viruses. However, very little information is available about which ESCRT components are crucial for alphacoronaviruses infection. By using RNA interference in combination with Co-immunoprecipitation, as well as fluorescence and electron microscopy approaches, we have dissected the role of ALIX and TSG101 for two porcine alphacoronavirus cellular entry and replication. Results show that infection by two porcine alphacoronaviruses, including porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) and porcine enteric alphacoronavirus (PEAV), is dramatically decreased in ALIX- or TSG101-depleted cells. Furthermore, PEDV entry significantly increases the interaction of ALIX with caveolin-1 (CAV1) and RAB7, which are crucial for viral endocytosis and lysosomal transport, however, does not require TSG101. Interestingly, PEAV not only relies on ALIX to regulate viral endocytosis and lysosomal transport, but also requires TSG101 to regulate macropinocytosis. Besides, ALIX and TSG101 are recruited to the replication sites of PEDV and PEAV where they become localized within the endoplasmic reticulum and virus-induced double-membrane vesicles. PEDV and PEAV replication were significantly inhibited by depletion of ALIX and TSG101 in Vero cells or primary jejunal epithelial cells, indicating that ALIX and TSG101 are crucial for PEDV and PEAV replication. Collectively, these data highlight the dual role of ALIX and TSG101 in the entry and replication of two porcine alphacoronaviruses. Thus, ESCRT proteins could serve as therapeutic targets against two porcine alphacoronaviruses infection. The results indicate that ALIX and TSG101 regulate viral infection by inducing host cell-mediated endocytosis and altering viral transport dynamics in the endosome/lysosomal system. In addition, both ESCRT proteins have important roles in mediating the formation of viral replication organelles. Objective Based on the US National Health and Nutrition Survey from 2005 to 2021, an interpretable machine learning method was used to identify patients with depression in people over 65 years old. Methods The data of 2005 Mel 2018 and 2019-2020 were used as training set and test set, respectively, and three machine learning models of Lasso Logistic, random forest, and XG Boost were fitted. The best model of area under the curve (AUC) on the test set was selected and explained by interpretable machine learning model SHAP. Results The AUC value of XG Boost model was the highest, which was 0.933 (0.912-0.954). Sleep problems, health problems, and eosinophil count were the top three important variables affecting senile depression. The absolute values of SHAP were 1.16, 0.83, and 0.55, respectively, which showed the main influencing factors of each individual. Conclusion Machine learning is superior to logistic regression model in predicting depression in the elderly. Interpretable machine learning can explain the model from the global and individual levels to make predictions, open the black box of machine learning models, and can be used as a supplement to machine learning models in practical application. Isothiourea is an important class of sulfur-containing molecules showing unique catalytic and biological activities. As such, polyisothiourea is envisioned to be an interesting type of polymer that potentially exhibits a number of interesting properties. However, there is no access to synthesizing well-defined polyisothiourea, and currently isothiourea-containing polymers are mainly prepared by immobilizing onto other polymer's side chain. Herein, we report the first facile synthesis of polyisothioureas via alternating copolymerization of aziridines and isothiocayanates. Mediated by the catalytic system of phosphazene superbases/alcohol, a broad scope of aziridines and isothiocayanates could be transformed into polyisothioureas with adjustable substitutions (11 examples). The structures of obtained polyisothioureas were fully characterized with 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and 1H-13C HMBC NMR. Moreover, the polyisothioureas show tunable thermal properties depending on substitutions on the isothiourea linkages. X-ray properties of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) depend on their underlying physical parameters, particularly the accretion rate. We identified eight reverberation-mapped AGNs with some of the largest known accretion rates without high-quality X-ray data. We obtained new Chandra ACIS-S X-ray observations and nearly simultaneous optical spectrophotometry to investigate the properties of these AGNs with extreme super-Eddington accreting massive black holes (SEAMBHs). We combined our new X-ray measurements with those of other reverberation-mapped AGNs, which have the best-determined masses and accretion rates. The trend of the steepening of the spectral slope between X-ray and optical-UV, αox, with increasing optical-UV luminosity, |$L_{\rm 2500{\mathring{\rm A}}}$|⁠ , holds true for even the most extreme SEAMBHs. One of our new SEAMBHs appears X-ray-weak for its luminosity, perhaps due to absorption associated with orientation effects involving a slim disc thought to be present in highly accreting systems. The correlation of the |$\rm 2\!-\!8~ keV$| X-ray photon index with the accretion rate also holds for the extreme SEAMBHs, which show some of the largest photon indices reported for AGNs. Highlights: This review introduces the potential of 2D electronics for post-Moore era and discusses their current progress in digital circuits, analog circuits, heterogeneous integration, sensing circuits, artificial intelligence chips, and quantum chips in sequence. A comprehensive analysis of the current trends and challenges encountered in the development of 2D materials is summarized. An in-depth roadmap outlining the future development of 2D electronics is presented, and the most accessible and promising avenues for 2D electronics are suggested. Due to the constraints imposed by physical effects and performance degradation, silicon-based chip technology is facing certain limitations in sustaining the advancement of Moore's law. Two-dimensional (2D) materials have emerged as highly promising candidates for the post-Moore era, offering significant potential in domains such as integrated circuits and next-generation computing. Here, in this review, the progress of 2D semiconductors in process engineering and various electronic applications are summarized. A careful introduction of material synthesis, transistor engineering focused on device configuration, dielectric engineering, contact engineering, and material integration are given first. Then 2D transistors for certain electronic applications including digital and analog circuits, heterogeneous integration chips, and sensing circuits are discussed. Moreover, several promising applications (artificial intelligence chips and quantum chips) based on specific mechanism devices are introduced. Finally, the challenges for 2D materials encountered in achieving circuit-level or system-level applications are analyzed, and potential development pathways or roadmaps are further speculated and outlooked. We conduct a systematic search for quasars with periodic variations from the archival photometric data of the Zwicky Transient Facility by cross-matching with the quasar catalogues of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and Véron-Cetty and Véron. We first select out 184 primitive periodic candidates using the generalized Lomb–Scargle periodogram and autocorrelation function and then estimate their statistical significance of periodicity based on two red-noise models, i.e. damped random walk (DRW) and single power-law (SPL) models. As such, we finally identify 106 (DRW) and 86 (SPL) candidates with the most significant periodic variations out of 143 700 quasars. We further compare DRW and SPL models using Bayes factors, which indicate a relative preference of the SPL model for our primitive sample. We thus adopt the candidates identified with SPL as the final sample and summarize its basic properties. We extend the light curves of the selected candidates by supplying other archival survey data to verify their periodicity. However, only three candidates (with 6–8 cycles of periods) meet the selection criteria. This result clearly implies that, instead of being strictly periodic, the variability must be quasi-periodic or caused by stochastic red-noise. Polyester and polyether are two key oxygenated polymers, and completely alternative sequence of poly(ester-alt-ether) could efficiently combine the advantages (including flexibility, degradability, etc.) of both segments. Currently, despite their copolymers could be synthesized from one-pot mixture of cyclic esters and epoxides, perfectly alternative microstructure is very challenging to realize and typically restricted to certain monomer pairs. Moving forward, synthesizing poly(ester-alt-ether) from commercially available and largescale monomers would be a significant advance. For example, successfully commercialized poly(glycolic acid) (PGA), which is not easily soluble in polymers due to its high crystallinity and is brittle and difficult to control the degradation cycle, would encounter a new paradigm if engineered into poly(ester-alt-ether). In this work, starting from the design of monomer with hybrid structures, we successfully synthesized a series of 1,4-dioxan-2-one containing different substituents based on glycolide (GA) and epoxides using commercially available Salen-Cr(III) and PPNCl catalytic systems. The new monomers underwent ring-opening polymerization (ROP) to form a series of poly(ester-alt-ether) with perfectly alternating glycolic acid and propylene glycol repeat units under catalytic system of thiourea/base. The poly(ester-alt-ether) have significantly lower glass-transition temperature than PGA. Additionally, the poly(ester-alt-ether) can be chemically recovered to monomer using Sn(Oct)2 or 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undecane-7-ene (DBU) as a catalyst in solution, thus establishing a closed-loop life cycle. Developing efficient, low-cost electrocatalysts is of great significance for improving the efficiency of water electrolysis. In this work, the structure, electronic properties, hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity of transition metal-doped cobalt boride (TM@CoB) were thoroughly investigated using density functional theory. Ni@CoB and Cu@CoB exhibited excellent catalytic activity for HER. Specifically, Ni@CoB demonstrated a ΔG H* value of 0.0537 eV, surpassing the most commonly used Pt catalyst. The reaction mechanism followed the Heyrovsky mechanism, and it also showed good OER activity, making it a potential candidate for OER electrocatalysts. Compared to the original CoB, Ni@CoB showed a 70 % improvement in HER activity and a 65 % improvement in OER activity. The Ni@CoB catalyst was synthesized, and its catalytic performance was experimentally validated. This work offers a new perspective and guidance for the development of bifunctional electrocatalysts. • 3D modelling and simulation of two-phase flow of LBE coolant and corrosion products in lead-cooled fast reactor. • The effects of flow field characteristics on migration and retention of corrosion products were analyzed. • The effects of particle characteristics on migration and retention of corrosion products were analyzed. • The trajectory and final deposition position of corrosion products were studied. • This study provides an important reference for the design of impurity filter in the LFR. The lead–bismuth eutectic (LBE) coolant corrodes structural materials during nuclear reactor operations. The corrosion products accumulate and are deposited after long-term operations, blocking the narrow flow paths inside the reactor loop and reducing reactor performance. This study investigates the effects of the flow field and particle characteristics on the corrosion products. The discrete phase model was used to describe the movement of the corrosion products in the flow field. A lead-cooled fast reactor model was proposed to calculate the velocity and temperature fields of the single-phase flow for different mass flow rates of the LBE coolant. As the LBE velocity increased, the number of trapped particles and the coolant temperature in the reactor decreased. The particle size, density, and shape factor affected the particle movement. Particles with a small size (less than 75 μm), high particle density, or a small shape factor (more than 100 μm diameter) resulted in improved flow of the particles with the LBE coolant and lower particle retention rates in the fluid. As the particle size increased, the number of retained particles in the upper region and on the free surface of the reactor increased, whereas the number of particles reaching the pump outlet decreased. Ce,Mg:Lu 2 YGa x Al 5-x O 12 (x = 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3) ceramic scintillators were fabricated by oxygen sintering combined with air annealing using nano-powders synthesized by the co-precipitation method. The Ce3+ 5d 1 → 4f (2F 5/2 , 2F 7/2) luminescence band was blue shifted with increasing Ga content due to the decrease in the crystal field splitting of the 5d levels. At room temperature (RT), the decrease of photoluminescence decay time and scintillation decay time was observed with increasing Ga content. At 662 keV γ-rays, the sample Ga2 exhibited high light yield (LY) of 28,700 photons/MeV, fast scintillation decay times of 17.7 ns (17 %) + 45.7 ns (83 %), and good time resolution of ∼220 ps. At RT, the decrease of LY value for the samples Ga2.5 and Ga3 could be attributed to the larger thermal ionization of the excited Ce3+ centers. • Scintillation properties of Ce,Mg:Lu 2 YGa x Al 5-x O 12 (x = 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3) ceramics are investigated. • All ceramic samples show fast effective scintillation decay time less than 47 ns. • Sample x = 2 shows high LY of ∼28,700 ph/MeV @662 keV γ rays. • Samples x = 2 and 2.5 show good coincidence time resolution of 220 ps. Iodinated X-ray contrast media (ICM) are ubiquitously present in water sources and challenging to eliminate using conventional processes, posing a significant risk to aquatic ecosystems. Ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (UV-LED) emerge as a promising technology for transforming micropollutants in water, boasting advantages such as diverse wavelengths, elimination of chemical additives, and no induction of microorganisms' resistance to disinfectants. The research reveals that iohexol (IOX) degradation escalates as UV wavelength decreases, attributed to enhanced photon utilization efficiency. Pseudo-first-order rate constants (k obs) were determined as 3.70, 2.60, 1.31 and 0.65 cm2 J−1 at UV-LED wavelengths of 255, 265, 275 and 285 nm, respectively. The optical properties of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and anions undeniably influence the UV-LED photolysis process through photon competition and the generation of reactive substances. The influence of Cl− on IOX degradation was insignificant at UV-LED 255, but it promoted IOX degradation at 265, 275 and 285 nm. IOX degradation was accelerated by ClO 2 −, NO 3 −and HA due to the formation of various reactive species. In the presence of NO 3 −, the k obs of IOX followed the order: 265 > 255 > 275 > 285 nm. Photosensitizers altered the spectral dependence of IOX, and the intermediate photoactivity products were detected using electron spin resonance. The transformation pathways of IOX were determined through density functional theory calculations and experiments. Disinfection by-products (DBPs) yields of IOX during UV-LED irradiation decreased as the wavelength increased: 255 > 265 > 275 > 285 nm. The cytotoxicity index value decreased as the UV-LED wavelength increased from 255 to 285 nm. The third-generation EGFR-TKI osimertinib is widely used in EGFR-mutated positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, but drug resistance is inevitable. The currently known mechanisms only explain resistance in a small proportion of patients. For most patients, the mechanism of osimertinib resistance is still unclear, especially for EGFR-independent resistance. Herein, we thoroughly investigated the novel mechanism of osimertinib resistance and treatment strategies. We identified that ST3GAL4, a sialyltransferase, catalyzes terminal glycan sialylation of receptor protein tyrosine kinases, which induces acquired resistance to osimertinib in vitro and in vivo. In addition, ST3GAL4 is generally overexpressed in osimertinib-resistant patients with unknown resistance mechanisms. ST3GAL4 modifies MET glycosylation on N785 with sialylation, which antagonizes K48-related ubiquitin-dependent MET degradation and subsequently activates MET and its downstream proliferation signaling pathways. Meanwhile, ST3GAL4 knockdown or inhibition by brigatinib resensitizes resistant non-small cell lung cancer cells to osimertinib in vitro and in vivo This study suggests that ST3GAL4 can induce acquired resistance to osimertinib, which may be an important EGFR-independent resistance mechanism Furthermore, targeting ST3GAL4 with brigatinib provides new strategies to overcome osimertinib resistance. • Sialyltransferases ST3GAL4 overexpression is a novel mechanism of osimertinib resistance. • MET as a key downstream target of ST3GAL4-induced osimertinib resistance. • Brigatinib is a novel inhibitor of ST3GAL4, its potent efficacy in the reversal of ST3GAL4-induced osimertinib resistance. In this paper, the structural evolution of natural rock asphalt and rock asphalt treated with liquid nitrogen subjected to high temperature and high pressure (HTHP) were studied, and then its influence on mechanical properties of oil well cement was investigated. The results show that the pyrolysis reaction of rock asphalt was promoted by HTHP, which occurred at 320 ℃ at normal pressure and appeared at 180 ℃/20.7 MPa. The pores in the particles caused by the pyrolysis of rock asphalt were healed with the extension of curing time, and the interface bond between rock asphalt and cement matrix was improved. Rock asphalt has a good toughening effect on cement paste, especially treated rock asphalt. • High temperature and high pressure promoted the pyrolysis of rock asphalt. • The rock asphalt treated by liquid nitrogen can enhance the toughness of cement stone under HTHP. • The interface bond between rock asphalt and cement matrix was gradually improved with the extension of curing time. Near-infrared phosphors have garnered considerable interest for various detection technologies. However, effective blue light excitable phosphors emitting in the NIR range are still lacking in these devices. In this work, we synthesized a monoclinic perovskite phosphor, CaLaLiTeO 6 : Mn4+, Tm3+, which emits NIR light at 700 nm, 800 nm and 1450 nm under 480 nm excitation. Through systematic study of the fluorescence lifetime of doped Mn4+ ions, we determined this arises from energy transfer from Mn to Tm, enhancing Tm luminescence at 800 nm and 1450 nm. The measured internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of the phosphors can reach 66.36 %. Additionally, photoluminescence properties were examined under 808 nm laser diode excitation. Finally, we utilized a 480 nm blue light chip to excite the CaLaLiTeO 6 : 0.6 % Mn4+, 1.5 % Tm3+ phosphor and verified its functionality as a NIR light source. Results indicate phosphor-converted LEDs based on this material can be successfully used in a variety of disciplines, including medical infrared thermal imaging, enhanced night vision, solution concentration analysis.
