The aim of this research was to compile a self-management assessment scale for patients with aortic dissection (AD). The questionnaire is useful in making the patient aware of the need for post-operative care in order to contribute to improving the outcome and quality of life.

The experiment is based on a single dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma generator, using micro-discharge to produce non-equilibrium plasma synergizing with two different catalysts (TiO2, 4A molecular sieve) to decompose n-hexane gas. In the n-hexane degradation experiment, the study investigates the influence of factors such as the type of catalyst, discharge voltage, and flow rate on the degradation rate of n-hexane. The experiments revealed that in all synergistic experiments with catalysts, the degradation rate of n-hexane increased with the decrease in flow rate and with the increase in voltage. Among the four catalysts selected, the 4A molecular sieve catalyst showed the best removal effect for n-hexane gas, reaching 73.2%.

To solve the severe coal dust pollution and dust hazards in underground coal mines, this study utilized graft copolymerization modification technology and compound technology to develop a mining composite consolidation dust suppressant. On this basis, analysis of its consolidation wettability and dust suppression mechanism was conducted through characterization tests and molecular dynamics simulation methods. The results show that polyacrylamide (PAM) had been successfully grafted onto the soybean protein isolate (SPI) molecule, and form a SPI‐PAM complex. After the dust suppressant acted on the coal dust surface, it utilized its wealthy hydrophilic groups, for the adsorption of water molecules and the positive amide group for binding to produce a large area of agglomeration of coal dust particles at the interface, exhibiting good wetting and consolidation into a shell. At the same time, molecular dynamic simulation verified that the diffusivity of water molecules in the dust suppressant‐coal system was 0.30Å2/ps, decreased by 43.3%, and the interaction energy with coal molecules was −200.27 kcal/mol, absolute value increased by 41.35%, which made the dust suppressant molecules more easily adsorb and agglomerate on the surface, demonstrated an excellent solidification and dust suppression effect. The joint classification of hyperspectral imagery (HSI) and LiDAR data is an important task in the field of remote sensing image interpretation. Traditional classification methods, such as support vector machine (SVM) and random forest (RF), have difficulty capturing the complex spectral–spatial–elevation correlation information. Recently, important progress has been made in HSI-LiDAR classification using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Transformers. However, due to the large spatial extent of remote sensing images, the vanilla Transformer and CNNs struggle to effectively capture global context. Moreover, the weak misalignment between multi-source data poses challenges for their effective fusion. In this paper, we introduce AFA–Mamba, an Adaptive Feature Alignment Network with a Global–Local Mamba design that achieves accurate land cover classification. It contains two main core designs: (1) We first propose a Global–Local Mamba encoder, which effectively models context through a 2D selective scanning mechanism while introducing local bias to enhance the spatial features of local objects. (2) We also propose an SSE Adaptive Alignment and Fusion (A2F) module to adaptively adjust the relative positions between multi-source features. This module establishes a guided subspace to accurately estimate feature-level offsets, enabling optimal fusion. As a result, our AFA–Mamba consistently outperforms state-of-the-art multi-source fusion classification approaches across multiple datasets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, replacing plastic packaging materials with biobased alternatives has been trending in the field of food packaging. The role of food packaging materials is to contain and protect the product throughout the supply chain, and the most used materials for this are polyolefins due to their functionality and affordability. However, environmental awareness and the new regulations and restrictions have been strong drivers to push the development towards biobased materials. In this study, the feasibility and potential of biowaxes used as a dispersion barrier coating formulation material were examined. Four commercial biowaxes were selected for the study, and their nano‐ and crystalline structures were determined by wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (WAXS). The biowaxes were melted and dispersed into a stable water‐based dispersion. Barrier coating formulations were prepared using two different polymer dispersions mixed with the waxes and additives. A fibre substrate was coated with the prepared formulations, and their barrier properties were studied. The properties of biowax‐containing coatings showed similar or minor improvements compared to the reference. However, foldability was especially improved in the biowax sample. Interestingly, this sample contained wax, which was structurally most stable, presenting an orthorhombic phase in all studied states. Based on our results, introducing biowax materials is a viable solution to replace part of the formulation materials and adjust the barrier performance of existing dispersion polymers. Our results also suggest that the nanostructure of waxes might play a role in an optimal solution. However, all these observations deserve more studies, and the share of biowax in barrier coatings will need further optimisation in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Lifestyle intervention is the first-line treatment for PCOS. Numerous studies have investigated the effect of various lifestyle factors, including dietary habit, smoking, and alcohol consumption on PCOS women. These studies have found that such factors may be associated with physiological parameters such as androgen, and emotional states like anxiety or depression. Smoking, a harmful lifestyle habit widely recognized to contribute to various diseases, has also been found to be related to PCOS. Current research has not adequately compared the effects of smoking with other lifestyle habits on PCOS, and there is little mention of its relationship with the emotional states of patients with PCOS. To further elucidate the association between smoking and other lifestyle factors with clinical symptoms in patients with PCOS, we conducted a cross-sectional evaluation using data from Peking University Third Hospital, with a special focus on analyzing smoking habits and comparing it with a variety of lifestyle factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 601 PCOS women and 184 healthy controls who underwent physical examinations, hormone profiles and psychological measures. We assessed the association between smoking and the clinical symptoms in PCOS women. Results: We found a significant correlation between smoking and the degree of depression in PCOS women among the three emotional states: anxiety, depression, and stress. Smoking was also significantly associated with testosterone level in PCOS participants, suggesting that PCOS women who smoke exhibited more severe depressive symptoms and higher testosterone level. In addition, compared to the control group, PCOS women had notably higher testosterone (T) and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels. Smoke and alcohol were statistically significantly more common in women with PCOS than the Control. Conclusion: Women with PCOS who smoke were found to have elevated testosterone levels and more severe depression. These findings suggest that clinicians should monitor smoking women with PCOS for symptoms of depression and assess their hyperandrogenic status. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
