1. DenseReviewer: A Screening Prioritisation Tool for Systematic Review based on Dense Retrieval

Abstract

Screening is a time-consuming and labour-intensive yet required task for medical systematic reviews, as tens of thousands of studies often need to be screened. Prioritising relevant studies to be screened allows downstream systematic review creation tasks to start earlier and save time. In previous work, we developed a dense retrieval method to prioritise relevant studies with reviewer feedback during the title and abstract screening stage. Our method outperforms previous active learning methods in both effectiveness and efficiency. In this demo, we extend this prior work by creating (1) a web-based screening tool that enables end-users to screen studies exploiting state-of-the-art methods and (2) a Python library that integrates models and feedback mechanisms and allows researchers to develop and demonstrate new active learning methods. We describe the tool's design and showcase how it can aid screening. The tool is available at https://densereviewer.ielab.io. 7. Global research trends on nanotechnology and colorectal cancer: a two-decade analysis.

Abstract

Introduction Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a serious threat to humans worldwide. In this study, we used bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature to assess the trends and prospects of nanotechnology applications in CRC. Materials and methods We used the Web of Science Core Collection database to screen relevant publications on nanotechnology and CRC from 2004 to 2023 based on the inclusion criteria. Bibliometric analyses were performed on all selected publication and citation data. Visual analysis using VOSviewer and CiteSpace intuitively reflected the hotspots in this field. Results In total, 2040 publications on nanotechnology in CRC were identified for this two-decade analysis. China (443, 29.14%) and the USA (199, 13.09%) were the top two most productive countries, and Sichuan University was the most prolific institution. The most influential journal was the International Journal of Nanomedicine. The author with the most papers was Li L. "Nanoparticles," "drug delivery," and "CRC" were the most common keywords. Green synthesis and gold nanoparticles were peripheral, incompletely developed topics. Conclusion This study provides a comprehensive overview of nanomaterials in CRC as clinical medicine, enriching the body of evidence in this field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

8. An Efficient Large Neighborhood Search Algorithm for Multi-level Constellation Scheduling Problem.

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the multilevel constellation scheduling problem (MLCSP). The MLCSP asks for scheduling time intervals within three different agents, the user satellite, the control satellites, and the ground station. Specifically, the user satellites transfer data to the control satellites, the control satellites then transmit it to the ground stations, and the objective is to schedule all the time intervals so that the number of completed tasks required by the user satellites is maximized. Compared with the setting of existing constellation scheduling problems, the problem is distinguished by its multiple scheduling role and multilevel architecture. Clearly, MLCSP is an important optimization problem in large-scale heterogeneous constellation scheduling. To solve this problem, we build both integer linear programming and constraint programming models to obtain the exact solution to MLCSP. Due to the computation limitation of exact approaches in the real-world environment, we further propose a large neighborhood search algorithm (LNSA) to practically solve the problem. Our experimental results indicate that our algorithms are very effective in benchmarks. Specifically, the LNSA can also obtain optimal solutions for large instances in practice.
