Background: Prisons provide a key strategic opportunity to upscale hepatitis C testing and treatment in a high prevalence setting and are crucial for elimination efforts., Methods: A decentralized, statewide nurse-led model of care offering hepatitis C treatment for people in prison was implemented in Victoria, Australia in 2015. The program provides hepatitis C care to all 14 adult prison sites in the jurisdiction. We prospectively evaluated treatment uptake between 1 November 2015 and 31 December 2021. Data on all people in prison treated were recorded in a clinical database. The primary outcomes were i) total number of people in prison with hepatitis C treated; ii) total number of DAA treatment courses., Results: 3,133 DAA treatment courses were prescribed to 2,768 people in prison. The proportion of total Victoria DAA prescriptions the program was responsible for increased from 6% in 2016 to a peak of 23% in 2020. Of those treated, median age was 39 years, 91% were male and 9% had cirrhosis. Few (20%) had previously engaged in hepatitis C care in the community and at first treatment course in prison, only 6% had previously accessed hepatitis C treatment. Complete follow up data were available for 1,757/2,768 (63%) treated, with 1,627/1,757 (93%) achieving SVR12., Conclusions: A decentralized, nurse-led, statewide model of care was highly effective in treating large numbers of people in prison with hepatitis C and achieved high rates of SVR12. Purpose: Nivolumab plus relatlimab and nivolumab plus ipilimumab have been approved for advanced melanoma on the basis of the phase II/III RELATIVITY-047 and phase III CheckMate 067 trials, respectively. As no head-to-head trial comparing these regimens exists, an indirect treatment comparison was conducted using patient-level data from each trial., Methods: Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) adjusted for baseline characteristic differences. Minimum follow-ups (RELATIVITY-047, 33 months; CheckMate 067, 36 months) were selected to best align assessments. Outcomes included progression-free survival (PFS), confirmed objective response rate (cORR), and melanoma-specific survival (MSS) per investigator; overall survival (OS); and treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs). A Cox regression model compared PFS, OS, and MSS. A logistic regression model compared cORRs. Subgroup analyses were exploratory., Results: After IPTW, key baseline characteristics were balanced for nivolumab plus relatlimab (n = 339) and nivolumab plus ipilimumab (n = 297). Nivolumab plus relatlimab demonstrated similar PFS (hazard ratio [HR], 1.08 [95% CI, 0.88 to 1.33]), cORR (odds ratio, 0.91 [95% CI, 0.73 to 1.14]), OS (HR, 0.94 [95% CI, 0.75 to 1.19]), and MSS (HR, 0.86 [95% CI, 0.67 to 1.12]) to nivolumab plus ipilimumab. Subgroup comparisons showed larger numerical differences favoring nivolumab plus ipilimumab with acral melanoma, BRAF -mutant melanoma, and lactate dehydrogenase >2 × upper limit of normal, but were limited by small samples. Nivolumab plus relatlimab was associated with fewer grade 3-4 TRAEs (23% v 61%) and any-grade TRAEs leading to discontinuation (17% v 41%)., Conclusion: Nivolumab plus relatlimab demonstrated similar efficacy to nivolumab plus ipilimumab in the overall population, including most-but not all-subgroups, and improved safety in patients with untreated advanced melanoma. Results should be interpreted with caution.

The most effective health communication builds from evidence-based best practices and theory. In practice, health campaigns rely on considerations often under-discussed in health communication, such as consistent agency-style client service, image management, and community coalition-building. Health outcome progress often requires change at multiple levels, from individual cognition and behavior to policy creation. These multi-level needs further highlight the importance of effective practical health communication supporting a range of outcomes and building toward replication. This article covers the complexities of building and implementing a theory-informed health communication structure for a multifaceted, place-based cancer prevention initiative. Part of the overall process includes detailing the internal communications of a health communication group, interorganizational communication, engaging community partner support, the message creation process, and longitudinal efforts on program maintenance and assessment. Furthermore, this article seeks to offer an example of the client service role a health communication team can play to combine theory, empirical message development, and community goals in whole community efforts. Ultimately, the goal is to share experiences from seven years of program work to help guide future community-based efforts in other health contexts and foster progress in theoretical and practical understandings of health communication.

Objective: With same day online alcohol sales increasing, there is a need to study their regulation. Test purchasing of alcohol home delivery was conducted to measure compliance with regulations for identification checks and unattended deliveries in two Australian jurisdictions (Perth, Western Australia and Geelong, Victoria), which have differing regulations., Method: Alcohol orders for same day or rapid (<2 hours) delivery on Friday and Saturday nights were made by research assistants aged 18-24 years in Perth (n=34) and Geelong (n=29). An observation checklist was used to record the delivery interaction, with a specific focus on checking of photo identification at time of delivery and whether deliveries were left unattended., Results: Average time from order to delivery for rapid deliveries was less than one hour in both sites (Perth = 50 minutes; Geelong = 36 minutes). More than 20% of deliveries were made without an identification check in both sites (Perth = 24%; Geelong = 21%)., Conclusions: This pilot study showed alcohol can be delivered to the home within one hour, and not all deliveries include an identification check at point of delivery. These findings indicate a need for policies that empower regulators and police to undertake 'mystery shopper' monitoring to reduce potential harms and improve compliance with alcohol delivery policy.

Mass spectrometry was used to study the binding interaction between serum albumin proteins (BSA and HSA) and flavone dyes, which is known to induce large fluorescence signals for protein detection. By electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), multiple charged species/states could be produced in ammonium acetate buffer, while preserving the native structures of the proteins. Subsequent introduction of a flavone dye into the buffered solution resulted in an immediate interaction, forming the respective protein-dye conjugates associated by non-covalent interactions. Formation of protein-dye conjugates induced a notable response in the ESI-MS spectra, including changes in both the charge states and molecular mass of the protein species. The resulting data pointed out that the protein-flavone dye maintained a 1 : 1 ratio in the conjugate, although multiple binding sites for drug molecules are present in albumin proteins.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess the clinical impact of indeterminate pulmonary nodules (no more than four pulmonary nodules of less than 5 mm or one nodule measuring between 5 and less than 10 mm by computed tomography [CT]) in children and adolescents with adult-type non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcoma (NRSTS) at diagnosis., Methods: Patients with NRSTS treated in 11 centers as part of the European paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma Study Group (EpSSG) were retrospectively assessed. Local radiologists, blinded to clinical information except for patients' age and tumor histotype, reviewed the chest CT at diagnosis and filled out a case report form. Because patients with or without indeterminate nodules in the EpSSG NRSTS 2005 study received the same type of treatment, event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) between groups by log-rank test were compared., Results: Overall, 206 patients were examined: 109 (52.9%) were without any nodules, 78 (38%) had at least one indeterminate nodule, and 19 (9.2%) had nodules meeting the definition of metastases, which were then considered to be misclassified and were excluded from further analyses. Five-year EFS was 78.5% (95% CI, 69.4%-85.1%) for patients without nodules and 69.6% (95% CI, 57.9%-78.7%) for patients with indeterminate nodules (p = .135); 5-year OS was 87.4% (95% CI, 79.3%-92.5%) and 79.0% (95% CI, 67.5%-86.8%), respectively (p = .086)., Conclusions: This study suggests that survival does not differ in otherwise nonmetastatic patients with indeterminate pulmonary nodules compared to nonmetastatic patients without pulmonary nodules., Plain Language Summary: Radiologists should be aware of the classification of indeterminate pulmonary nodules in non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcomas and use it in their reports. More than a third of patients with non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcoma can be affected by indeterminate pulmonary nodules.
