Problematic Internet use characterized by loss of control. Over time spent on the internet obsessive, craving for various types of Internet activities, which often becomes a catalyst for the formation of a wide range of psychosocial and psychosomatic problems. Among them anxiety disorders occupy a special place. Anxiety affects all areas of a teenager's life, noticeably worsening his well-being relationships in family and society and reducing school performance. Purpose. To assess the relationship between the levels of situational and personal anxiety with problematic Internet use in high school students. Materials and methods. 165 students of both sexes of the senior classes of secondary school No. 84 in Krasnoyarsk took part in the study. The assessment of the level of Internet addiction was carried out using the "Chen Internet Addiction Scale" adapted by V.L. Malygin and K.A. Feklisov. The severity of personal and situational anxiety was carried out using the scale "State-Trait Anxiety Inventory" by C.D. Spielberger modified, by Y.L. Khanin. Results. The frequency of problematic Internet use in the general group was 10,3%. High levels of situational and personal anxiety were observed in 2,4% and 49,7% of the surveyed. At the same time girls with high levels of situational and personal anxiety were more common compared to boys. In most cases among high school students with an increase in the severity of the pattern of Internet addictive behavior, the number of people with low levels of both situational and personal anxiety decreased, while the number of respondents with a high level increased. Conclusion. The interrelationships of problematic Internet use with indicators of situational and personal anxiety among high school students are revealed.

This article outlines the concept of a tool for the implementation of socio-economic policy and considers the assessment of social infrastructure provision of the population as one of them, namely a systemic feedback tool. The paper discusses the importance of social infrastructure for the socio-economic development of the province and the methods of assessing the provision of the population with it, identifies the main stages of this procedure and its relationship with other key tools, which is presented in the form of a graphical scheme; discusses the main tasks and features of rationing of indicators as a procedure for developing a reference measure of assessment; discusses and systematizes the main approaches to the calculation of socio-infrastructural provision. At the same time, not infrastructure objects, but more fractional units — elements — are taken as calculation units. It is proposed to systematize various calculation methods in the form of a matrix depending on the arguments used.

Background. Surgical treatment of locally advanced and recurrent malignant neoplasms of the female reproductive system is a difficult task requiring extensive multivisceral resections and exenteration. Minimally invasive access allows for less traumatic intervention and improved visualization, potentially leading to improved oncologic outcomes and fewer complications. Aim. To evaluate intraoperative and early postoperative results of laparoscopic pelvic exenterations. Materials and methods. 12 laparoscopic pelvic exenteration were performed between December 2022 and September 2023. Strict selection of patients for laparoscopic access was not performed. Local recurrence was noted in 8 patients, in 3 cases there was continued growth after chemoradiotherapy. 8 patients had a history of pelvic irradiation. 9 women had received drug therapy in the past. Results. Total exenteration was performed in 5 patients, anterior exenteration in 5 patients, and posterior exenteration in 2 patients. The average duration of the operation was 420.8±99.2 (300–625) minutes, the average volume of blood loss was 166.7±98.5 (100–400) ml. Significant postoperative complications (Clavien–Dindo grade III) were registered in two cases: pelvic abscess that required relaparoscopy and sanation, as well as intra-abdominal abscess – drained under ultrasound control. In one case on the 18th day after the surgical intervention a fatal outcome (Clavien–Dindo grade V) due to pulmonary embolism was registered. The median postoperative bed-day was 14.5 (8–32) days. Conclusion. Laparoscopic access for pelvic exenteration improves intraoperative and early postoperative results. It is necessary to further improve the techniques of this intervention and to define clear indications for its performance, which will allow to achieve better treatment results.

Introduction. Multinational Russia at various stages of its existence faces the playing out of the national question by opposing geopolitical centers. The discourse of “decolonization” and “deimperialization” of Russia has acquired a new level of relevance in the international arena after February 24, 2022. The purpose of the article is to identify and investigate the features of the destructive form of ethno-political mobilization in the regions of the Russian Federation through the construction and promotion of the discourse of “decolonization” and “deimperialization” of Russia by Western states. Materials and Methods. The materials used in the study include U.S. legal documents, resolutions of the European Parliament, publications and speeches of representatives of the Western political elite and scientific and expert community, materials of the United States Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, content of various organizations, foreign mass media and media foreign agents. The methodological basis of the study is represented by systemic, geopolitical and instrumentalist approaches, as well as such methods as monitoring, discourse analysis and content analysis. Results. The narrative of “deimperialization” and “decolonization” of Russia in the publications of the Western scientific and expert community and media materials is studied, and the political technologies of Western states oriented at the actualization of ethnic nationalism and, as a consequence, separatist tendencies in the regions of the Russian Federation are revealed. Western projects of practical policy oriented at actualization of national contradictions in the Russian Federation are implemented mainly through the following initiatives: holding events dedicated to “decolonization” and “deimperialization” of Russia; using representatives of Western-oriented national elites to actualize separatist tendencies in the regions of the Russian Federation; adopting declarations on “liberation” of the peoples of Russia from “colonial” dependence; popularization of information about the need for “decolonization”; and the use of the “decolonization” of Russia. Discussion and Conclusion. “Decolonization” and “deimperialization” of Russia are focused on the implementation of a destructive form of ethno-political mobilization and fragmentation of the Russian Federation along national lines of settlement. The authors identify five technologies for the formation of ethnic nationalism in the regions of the Russian Federation, which are used by Western states in the process of modern confrontation with Russia. The results of the study will be useful for public authorities at both regional and federal levels to develop a set of measures aimed at countering the playing of the “national card” on the territory of Russia by competing geopolitical centers.

The Black Sea region in its various geopolitical configurations is a zone of priority for the Turkish elite. Prior to the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca (1774), the Black Sea was regarded as the “Sultan’s harem.” Being essentially a peninsula between the Mediterranean and Black Sea, Türkiye is interested in maintaining control over the Black Sea space or in sharing it with another strong power having access to it. The authors aim to identify and explore Türkiye’s foreign policy strategy in relation to the Black Sea region as one of the key geopolitical spaces for Ankara’s national interests. The foreign policy strategy is understood as a long-term mechanism of the subject in relation to objects and competing subjects, which aims to achieve the most favorable spatial position with the help of military and non-military means and appropriate resources, taking into account the timeliness factor. The article solves specific tasks: it identifies the stable characteristics of Turkish foreign policy, shaped by historical experience and geography, which underlie Ankara’s foreign policy strategy; it shows and studies the strategic vision of the Turkish elite in relation to the Black Sea region; it reveals the mechanisms of influence of external geopolitical subjects on the region and the combination of these mechanisms with Turkish national interests. The concept of Turkish balance is introduced as mechanism of Türkiye’s foreign policy strategy whose main purpose is to integrate stronger powers into the logic and algorithms of foreign policy balances of stronger powers with their mutual opposition and further balancing act, which allows Türkiye to receive maximum geo-economic and geopolitical dividends. The research methodology is represented by systemic, geopolitical and civilizational approaches. Given the role of the Black Sea region in the military-political dynamics since February 2022, the mechanisms of Türkiye’s foreign policy strategy in relation to the region are becoming crucial for Russia in various areas of national security. Authors propagate that February 2022 is the inertia of the events of March 2014 and deeper, of the postponed crisis of 1991 caused by the disintegration of the USSR. However, it was the beginning of the special military operation that brought the military and political confrontation at the global and regional levels into the format of open confrontation. Russia has challenged the West and its system of allies.

Purpose. Study of the association of metabolic syndrome and its components with quality of life indicators in women with arterial hypertension. Materials and methods. 361 women with hypertension were examined, of which 270 had metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed based on the criteria of clinical recommendations of the All-Russian Scientific Society of Cardiology in 2009. The assessment and the degree of quality of life reduction were carried out using the methodology developed by A.G. Gladkov et al. (1982) and adapted by T.A. Ayvazyan et al. (1989). Results. It was found that regardless of the presence of metabolic syndrome among the examined women, the indicators of quality of life of varying degrees of decrease were found in more than 2/3 of the examined in both groups. At the same time, among women with metabolic syndrome, the number of people with a significant decrease in quality of life was higher. A decrease in quality of life in women with hypertension with MS was observed in more than 70% of the examined patients, regardless of the combination of metabolic syndrome metabolic syndrome components. In most cases, a decrease in quality of life of a woman with both normal quality of life indicators and varying degrees of its decrease was associated with the need for treatment, with dietary restrictions, with restrictions on herself in something and with a decrease in activity in everyday life. Conclusion. It was found that in women with arterial hypertension, the metabolic syndrome was largely associated with low quality of life indicators.

The available literature data on the impact of social media on mental health are contradictory. Some studies report the benefits of using social media for mental health, including increased social support, strengthening connections and seeking help. In others, on the contrary, associations of problematic use of social networks with a number of psychosocial problems such as psychological stress, anxiety and depression have been identified. Purpose. To study the association of problematic use of social networks with indicators of depression on the HADS scale among medical university students. Materials and methods. 229 students of both sexes enrolled in the 3rd year of the medical faculty of the Medical University were examined. Problematic use of social networks was identified using the Russian-language version of the questionnaire «The Social Media Disorder Scale». The identification of depressive disorders and the assessment of severity were carried out using the Russian-language version of the hospital scale of anxiety and depression HADS. Results. It was found, that signs of depression were observed in 34,9% of the surveyed students and were statistically significantly more common among girls compared with boys. The frequency of problematic social media use among students with signs of depression was 36,4%. Among both the surveyed girls and boys the number of people with signs of depression in combination with problematic use of social networks was more than twice as high as in patients without problematic use of social networks. Conclusion. Associations of problematic use of social networks with indicators of depression on the HADS scale among students studying at a medical university have been revealed.

This article delves into the dynamics of ethno-confessional factors influencing Russian-Turkish relations, exploring the Russian and Turkic worlds as geopolitical constructs within the Eurasian sphere. Employing a synthesis of critical and classical geopolitics methodologies, the study emphasizes the civilizational aspect as a pivotal element in the intricate interplay of competition and cooperation between Russia and Turkey in the Eurasian context. The research methodology integrates a civilizational perspective with critical geopolitics. The authors examine various strategies utilized by Turkey and Russia to implement ethnoconfessional policies in their quest for geopolitical influence. These strategies encompass the creation of narratives around 'fraternal nations', the promotion of shared historical, cultural, religious, linguistic, and heroic narratives; the cultivation of pro-Russian and pro-Turkish national elites; and the exploitation of ethno-national factors during domestic political crises. This analysis traces these phenomena from historical imperial contexts to contemporary interstate relations.Furthermore, the article underscores the significant impact of individual leadership in shaping the concept of the Turkic world, with a particular focus on the current President of the Turkish Republic, R.T. Erdogan. Erdogan is portrayed as a key figure actively advocating for and reinforcing the unity and identity of the Turkic world.

BackgroundThe healthcare sector demands a higher degree of responsibility, trustworthiness, and accountability when implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. Machine learning operations (MLOps) for AI-based medical diagnostic systems are primarily focused on aspects such as data quality and confidentiality, bias reduction, model deployment, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. However, so far, MLOps techniques do not take into account the need to provide resilience to disturbances such as adversarial attacks, including fault injections, and drift, including out-of-distribution. This article is concerned with the MLOps methodology that incorporates the steps necessary to increase the resilience of an AI-based medical diagnostic system against various kinds of disruptive influences.MethodsPost-hoc resilience optimization, post-hoc predictive uncertainty calibration, uncertainty monitoring, and graceful degradation are incorporated as additional stages in MLOps. To optimize the resilience of the AI based medical diagnostic system, additional components in the form of adapters and meta-adapters are utilized. These components are fine-tuned during meta-training based on the results of adaptation to synthetic disturbances. Furthermore, an additional model is introduced for post-hoc calibration of predictive uncertainty. This model is trained using both in-distribution and out-of-distribution data to refine predictive confidence during the inference mode.ResultsThe structure of resilience-aware MLOps for medical diagnostic systems has been proposed. Experimentally confirmed increase of robustness and speed of adaptation for medical image recognition system during several intervals of the system’s life cycle due to the use of resilience optimization and uncertainty calibration stages. The experiments were performed on the DermaMNIST dataset, BloodMNIST and PathMNIST. ResNet-18 as a representative of convolutional networks and MedViT-T as a representative of visual transformers are considered. It is worth noting that transformers exhibited lower resilience than convolutional networks, although this observation may be attributed to potential imperfections in the architecture of adapters and meta-adapters.СonclusionThe main novelty of the suggested resilience-aware MLOps methodology and structure lie in the separating possibilities and activities on creating a basic model for normal operating conditions and ensuring its resilience and trustworthiness. This is significant for the medical applications as the developer of the basic model should devote more time to comprehending medical field and the diagnostic task at hand, rather than specializing in system resilience. Resilience optimization increases robustness to disturbances and speed of adaptation. Calibrated confidences ensure the recognition of a portion of unabsorbed disturbances to mitigate their impact, thereby enhancing trustworthiness.

With the aim of reducing carbon emissions and seeking independence from Russian gas in the wake of the conflict in Ukraine, the use of hydrogen in the European Union is expected to rise in the future. In this regard, hydrogen transport via pipeline will become increasingly crucial, either through the utilization of existing natural gas infrastructure or the construction of new dedicated hydrogen pipelines. This study investigates the effects of hydrogen blending in existing pipelines on the European energy system by the year 2050, by introducing hydrogen blending sensitivities to the Global Energy System Model (GENeSYS-MOD). Results indicate that hydrogen demand in Europe is inelastic and limited by its high costs and specific use cases, with hydrogen production increasing by 0.17% for 100%-blending allowed compared to no blending allowed. The availability of hydrogen blending has been found to impact regional hydrogen production and trade, with countries that can utilize existing natural gas pipelines, such as Norway, experiencing an increase in hydrogen and synthetic gas exports from 44.0 TWh up to 105.9 TWh in 2050, as the proportion of blending increases. Although the influence of blending on the overall production and consumption of hydrogen in Europe is minimal, the impacts on the location of production and dependence on imports must be thoroughly evaluated in future planning efforts.

The scientific work aims to determine which rights are provided for forcibly resettled persons in Ukraine and other European countries, identifying common and distinctive features. This study uses various research methods to assess the situation of internally displaced persons in Ukraine, including their legal status, regional distribution, and rights under special conditions. It also investigates Ukrainian forced migrants’ main destinations, living conditions, rights to education and employment, and Ukrainian and host countries’ social policies on financial aid and housing.

In yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, there are two translation termination factors, eRF1 (Sup45) and eRF3 (Sup35), which are essential for viability. Previous studies have revealed that presence of nonsense mutations in these genes leads to amplification of mutant alleles (sup35-n and sup45-n), which appears to be necessary for the viability of such cells. However, the mechanism of this phenomenon remained unclear. In this study, we used RNA-Seq and proteome analysis to reveal the complete set of gene expression changes that occur during cellular adaptation to the introduction of the sup35-218 nonsense allele. Our analysis demonstrated significant changes in the transcription of genes that control the cell cycle: decreases in the expression of genes of the anaphase promoting complex APC/C (APC9, CDC23) and their activator CDC20, and increases in the expression of the transcription factor FKH1, the main cell cycle kinase CDC28, and cyclins that induce DNA biosynthesis. We propose a model according to which yeast adaptation to nonsense mutations in the translation termination factor genes occurs as a result of a delayed cell cycle progression beyond the G2-M stage, which leads to an extension of the S and G2 phases and an increase in the number of copies of the mutant sup35-n allele.

African swine fever (ASF) has posed a significant threat to Ukrainian pig farming since its identification in 2012. In this study, recognising the pivotal role of pigkeepers in disease control, we conducted ten focus groups involving 52 smallholders across eight regions in Ukraine. Using participatory methods, we revealed their awareness of ASF signs, transmission routes, preventive measures, and the perceptions of stakeholders involved in ASF control. Furthermore, we identified the smallholders’ acceptance of eradication and restriction measures, the perceived impact of zoning consequences, and their main sources of ASF information. Smallholders identified fever and skin haemorrhage as the most indicative signs of ASF and highlighted rodents as a primary transmission concern. Disinfection was seen as the most effective measure for preventing the introduction of ASF. Pigkeepers who perceived their stakeholder role in ASF control showed more trust in themselves and veterinarians than in central veterinary authorities. Farm-level ASF eradication measures were generally accepted; however, culling within the protection zone was least accepted, with economic losses listed as the most impactful consequence for pigkeepers. For ASF information, pigkeepers favour web searches and veterinarians, as well as traditional media and word-of-mouth news. This study provides valuable insights into refining the ASF communication strategies in Ukraine.
