Abstract Objectives To investigate the effects of bladder neck incision (BNI) and primary valves ablation on long-term kidney and bladder function in children with posterior urethral valves (PUV) and bladder neck hypertrophy (BNH). Objectives: It has been shown that concomitant autologous blood and dextranomer/hyaluronic acid (Deflux®) injection, hydrodistension autologous blood injection technique (HABIT), had a better mound preservation and treatment success compared to the hydrodistension injection technique (HIT) in vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) correction. In this study, we aimed to show microscopically whether the concomitant injection of autologous blood decreases the leakage of Deflux® particles. Methods: Children with VUR who underwent HIT or HABIT between March 2020 and January 2023 were enrolled. Following the completion of the procedure on each ureter, the bladder was irrigated for 3 to 5 min, and the retrieved sample of irrigation fluid was evaluated for dextranomer particle count as “immediate leakage”. A Foley catheter was placed, and a urine sample after 12 h was collected as “early leakage”. Results: A total of 86 children with a median age of 3.0 years (interquartile range = 4.6) were included. Overall, 66 patients underwent HABIT, and 20 children underwent HIT. Rupture was observed in five patients during the procedure, and re-injection was conducted successfully in these cases. Immediate, early, and total particle leakage in the first 12 h of the injection were significantly less in the HABIT group compared to the HIT group. In the regression analysis, only the injection technique (HIT/HABIT) and rupture were significantly associated with the total particle leakage in the first 12 h. Conclusions: Immediate injection of autologous blood into the mound following an endoscopic correction of VUR in children is associated with significantly less Deflux® particle leakage from the injection site regardless of the VUR grade. We hypothesize that a concomitant blood injection into the Deflux® mound will create a blood clot while the needle is kept in situ and help to stabilize the mound and decrease treatment failure by minimizing particle leakage from the injection site.

One of the most important goals of current research in the medical field is to identify treatments for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and cancer. The latest developments in nanotechnology have provided opportunities to develop novel nanomaterials that can overcome the limitations of current treatments. In this regard, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are considered potential nano-tools with attractive implications. The analysis of MTZ/SWCNT/AgNPs in this study was done using different techniques, including SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, and EDX. Antibacterial activity was assessed for MTN/SWCNT/AgNPs against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, and Staphylococcus aureus. The effects of MTZ/SWCNTs/AgNPs on mitochondrial and apoptotic activities in human gastric cancer (AGS) were evaluated. Overall, new CNTs were produced efficiently. MTZ/SWCNTs/AgNPs are considered efficient antibacterial and anticancer agents for biological applications.

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is evidence-based, transdiagnostic psychotherapy that seeks to increase values-consistent behavior and advances mental health by promoting psychological flexibility (PF) and diminishing psychological inflexibility (PI). PF implies a person's ability to cope with, accept, and adjust to challenging circumstances, whereas PI denotes the inflexible dominance of psychological responses in steering behavior over selected values and contingencies. The Multidimensional Psychological Flexibility Inventories (MPFI-60-24) have been established to cover all six factors of PF and six factors of PI at once. Still, these measures have yet to be validated in a Persian sample and this study seeks to validate the Persian versions of MPFI. We evaluated long and short versions of the MPFI in a Persian sample of 1270 (83% females, ages 18 through 57), divided into two groups, a healthy community group (n = 886) and a clinical group (n = 391). The MPFIs' psychometric properties, including criterion validity, construct validity, internal consistency, and measurement invariance, were investigated. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) revealed that a 12-factor model had a good fit to the data for the long version (CFI =.92) and a very good fit (CFI =.98) for the short version. Regarding higher-order models, two-factor second-order model indices for long-form were adequate (CFI =.92), and for short-form, they were good (CFI =.96). All 12 subscales demonstrated sufficient reliability. Measurement invariance for gender and mental health state was observed, as well as good internal consistency and adequate criterion validity with psychological distress markers (i.e., depression, anxiety, and stress). PI was more strongly related to psychological distress than PF. Persian versions of the MPFI are reliable instruments for indexing PF and PI in both genders as well as in community and clinical samples. • The validity and cross-cultural applicability of the long and short versions of the MPFI-P have been demonstrated. • The psychometric properties and measurement invariance of the MPFI-P add to its general significance. • PF/PI across both genders and community/clinical samples, MPFI-P, have been recognized to be valid instruments. • This study gives psychologists an essential tool for assessing PF and advancing mental health in Persian-speaking populations [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paired t-test and chi-square test were used to perform statistical analysis with p value < 0.05 defined as the level of significance., Results: Mean age at diagnosis was 7.22 ± 2.45 months (ranging from 7 days to 15 months) with a mean follow-up of 5.12 ± 2.80 years. The incidence of hydronephrosis was decreased from 266 (88.3%) at the baseline to 73 (24.3%) patients in long-term follow-up. At baseline, 188 (62.5%) patients were diagnosed with VUR, which decreased to 20 (6.6%) individuals at the end of follow-up. Bladder and renal function were improved in follow-ups following concomitant PUV ablation and BNI. No Myogenic failure was depicted in all patients with BNH. No ureteric reimplantation was needed during the two decades follow-up., Conclusion: Simultaneous valve ablation with BNI may present further profits in children with PUV and BNH particularly cases of BNH with poor bladder function at the time of presentation. This method can improve the results of urodynamic and imaging studies after the surgery. We hypothesize every child with PUV presentation who has concurrent vesicoureteral reflux, CKD or persistent hydrourethronephrosis may suffer from secondary bladder neck obstruction.
