In this study, we utilized the material design library in Ansys Product 2022 R1 to analyze the impact of short plant fibers on the mechanical properties of epoxy resin. We employed the representative volume element (RVE) approach and examined different volume fractions up to 50%. The technique employed in this study was multi-scale modeling based on the finite element method (FEM) for numerical homogenization. Subsequently, we used the same software to develop a five-layer laminated composite. The samples were based on epoxy resin enriched with short plant fibers at fractions of 20% and 30%, as well as pure epoxy resin. The laminated composites were reinforced with carbon fibers. The objective of this study was to analyze the mechanical response of each sample during a tensile test, focusing on multiple parameters. The sought-after results included total deformation, directional deformation, equivalent and elastic stress (Von-mises). The samples containing epoxy resin enriched with 30% of short hemp fibers exhibited remarkable mechanical strength compared to the other samples. These results suggest that the incorporation of short hemp fibers into the matrix led to a significant improvement in the mechanical strength of the composite. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effect of omega-3 supplementation on cardiovascular (CV) disease has been widely studied in several large clinical trials. However, the evidence of the effect of omega-3 supplementation in patients with heart failure (HF) remains controversial. This meta-analysis investigated the effects of omega-3 supplementation on patients with HF. We conducted a literature search on MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane databases for clinical trials and preprints of relevant articles. Following a literature search and critical appraisal, 5 studies were included in the meta-analysis. The pooling of the result of the studies shows that there were no significant association between omega-3 supplementation and CV mortality (odds ratio [OR], 0.94; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.84-1.05, p =0.16) nor hospitalization due to HF (OR, 0.94; 95% CI, 0.88-1.02; p =0.13). The study aimed to study the performance expectation in future tasks based on personal learning management during the Corona epidemic. A random sample of 871 students from the University of Hail was selected. The study samples were from humanities, engineering, and medical colleges. The study was based on a cross-sectional study design. The study prepared a measure of future expectation of performance on the tasks. The scale is 28 items. Factor analysis was used to verify the validity of the scale, and the scale achieved acceptable indicators of good fit. The scale achieved acceptable stability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient for emotional factor 0.57, cognitive factor 0.94, and behavioral factor 0.90. The results revealed that there are differences in the future expectation on performance because of gender and type of college. The results revealed that there are positive correlations between future expectation of cognitive and emotional performance, as well as a positive relationship between emotional and behavioral performance. Background: Penicillin is essential for secondary prevention of acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD). However, the incidences of ARF recurrence and RHD progression remain high, particularly in endemic countries. This meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of penicillin adherence in secondary prevention of ARF recurrence and RHD progression., Methods: The authors included original articles employing an observational study design in which the study population included patients with ARF or RHD and documented adherence to secondary prophylaxis with penicillin for secondary prevention. Systematic searches of the PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane databases were performed. Moreover, the authors also conducted a snowballing literature search from Europe PMC to expand the included studies. The quality of each study was assessed using the National Institute of Health Quality Assessment Tool. The statistical analyses were conducted using Review Manager 5.4.1 software developed by Cochrane. In addition, the authors utilized pooled odds ratios (ORs) to compare the adherence techniques., Results: A total of 310 studies were identified, of which 57 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility. The authors included six studies with 1364 patients for the qualitative synthesis and meta-analysis.
