Motivated by Bonanzinga and Maesano (2022), we introduce and study the new relative versions of star-Menger property related to some properties studied lately by Kočinac et al. (2022) and Bonanzinga et al. (2023). In this paper, we provide some examples to understand their relationships with other relativizations of star selection principles. This article presents the performance estimation of a single-stage vapor adsorption system employing various carbon-based adsorbents with ethanol refrigerant, coupled with a small-scale biomass-based heating unit for space cooling, refrigeration, and heat-pumping applications. A detailed parametric investigation highlights the effects of operating temperatures, and heat exchanger to adsorbent mass ratio on specific cooling energy (SCE), coefficient of performance (COP), uptake efficiency (ηu), and mass of adsorbent to combustion fuel (mad/mcf) to identify the suitable adsorbent and sorption bed designs for each application. The numerical findings reveal that the flat-finned tube (FFT) adsorber outperforms traditional-finned tube (TFT) and tube & shell-type (T&S) adsorbers, achieving 19% and 30% higher COP, respectively, with biomass carbon-ethanol pair. The H2-treated Maxsorb-III shows the greatest optimal cooling COP (0.73), followed by the biomass-carbon (0.72) for refrigeration and space cooling. For heat pumping applications, biomass carbon-ethanol achieves the highest heat pumping COP (1.84) at a desorption temperature of 90°C, surpassing H2-treated Maxsorb-III. Further, the biomass-derived activated carbon requires the lowest amount of adsorbent per unit mass of combustion fuel in the biomass heating unit. The present thermodynamic analysis is a precursor for optimization of the potential heat-exchanger geometries and operating parameters, with the high-performance carbon adsorbents. The need for refrigeration and air conditioning plays a crucial role in energy consumption. It is one of the important aspects which plays a crucial role in the food, human comfort, and energy problems of any country. Rapid consumption of energy and fossil fuels depletion results in the onset of energy crises thus, the research on absorption refrigeration systems has been widely promoted because the input energy supply for the systems can be a low-grade heat available from solar, geothermal, and/or waste heat from Industries. Solar refrigeration and air conditioning is an attractive and promising applications of solar energy because the cooling demand and the availability of solar energy are in phase and solar cooling can be made cost-effective. The present work includes the solar energy option and the potential for cooling with various range of parameters such as availability of solar radiation, environmental effects, types of collectors, types of solar cooling systems in general, and closed/open/continuous/multistage/hybrid and advanced absorption refrigeration cycles in particular. A literature survey has been carried out for possible improvements in the performance of solar absorption cooling systems and different solar collection and storage options. The most suitable solar cooling option viz. absorption refrigeration with the solar operation, historical developments, and commercial products. Innovation in agriculture and plant varieties is essential to serve the needs of the increasing population, maintain food security, and adhere to the principles laid down in international conventions. However, innovation in all areas including agriculture should be wary of its impact on the environment. Section 29 of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Act, 2001 stipulates that a plant variety causing serious harm to the environment is incapable of registration. Nevertheless, the primary criteria for gaining registration is proof of the variety being distinct, uniform and novel. Farmers' plant varieties lack uniformity, which paves the way for commercial breeders to gain registration. Undoubtedly, the varieties developed by commercial breeders generate higher yields. However, the same does not conform to local ecological demands and iseven less nutritious when compared to the varieties developed by the farmers. Thus, there are several consequences of permitting commercial plant varieties to take over the farmers' plant varieties. This paper is an attempt to highlight the need for agricultural innovations to be ecologically friendly thereby, leading to a movement towards safe technology. It will also advocate for an alteration in Section 29 of the Act to make it mandatory for registration of a new plant variety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUMMARY: Seed color is one of the key target traits of domestication and artificial selection in chickpeas due to its implications on consumer preference and market value. The complex seed color trait has been well dissected in several crop species; however, the genetic mechanism underlying seed color variation in chickpea remains poorly understood. Here, we employed an integrated genomics strategy involving QTL mapping, high‐density mapping, map‐based cloning, association analysis, and molecular haplotyping in an inter‐specific RIL mapping population, association panel, wild accessions, and introgression lines (ILs) of Cicer gene pool. This delineated a MATE gene, CaMATE23, encoding a Transparent Testa (TT) and its natural allele (8‐bp insertion) and haplotype underlying a major QTL governing seed color on chickpea chromosome 4. Signatures of selective sweep and a strong purifying selection reflected that CaMATE23, especially its 8‐bp insertion natural allelic variant, underwent selection during chickpea domestication. Functional investigations revealed that the 8‐bp insertion containing the third cis‐regulatory RY‐motif element in the CaMATE23 promoter is critical for enhanced binding of CaFUSCA3 transcription factor, a key regulator of seed development and flavonoid biosynthesis, thereby affecting CaMATE23 expression and proanthocyanidin (PA) accumulation in the seed coat to impart varied seed color in chickpea. Consequently, overexpression of CaMATE23 in Arabidopsis tt12 mutant partially restored the seed color phenotype to brown pigmentation, ascertaining its functional role in PA accumulation in the seed coat. These findings shed new light on the seed color regulation and evolutionary history, and highlight the transcriptional regulation of CaMATE23 by CaFUSCA3 in modulating seed color in chickpea. The functionally relevant InDel variation, natural allele, and haplotype from CaMATE23 are vital for translational genomic research, including marker‐assisted breeding, for developing chickpea cultivars with desirable seed color that appeal to consumers and meet global market demand. Discovery of SNPs and their association with immune response candidate genes is key process for identifying genetic markers. This research was done to find new SNPs in the ccl2 and cxcl10 genes of cattle from Tharparkar and Vrindavani. Total 12 samples (6 from Tharparkar and 6 from Vrindavani calves) of 5 ml blood were collected and using primers, desired genomic segment of genes was amplified. After gel purification, amplified products were sent to Sanger sequencing. Sanger sequenced data were analyzed for SNPs. The average size of consensus sequences of ccl2 products was 1155 bp and of cxcl10 was 945 bp. Two SNPs (1462 A>G and 1744 T>G) were found in ccl2 apmlicons with two genotypes (AA, AG) and (TT, TG) respectively. Both were in intronic region causing no effect on amino acid sequence. One SNP (394 G>A) was found in cxcl10 amplicons with genotypes (GG, AG) and it was present in 3' UTR. None of the locus was found in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium. This is a brief exploratory investigation involving fewer animals. The study's sample size has to be expanded further in order to make an appropriate assessment in this regard. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
