Enantiomeric discrimination plays a crucial role in the fields of analytical science and chemical biology. Herein, we achieve chiral recognition via angle-resolved polarized Raman scattering using a composite material consisting of an anisotropic two-dimensional material, ReSe2, and chiral Au nanoparticles (CAuNPs). A near-field effect is induced through the attachment of CAuNPs to ReSe2, in conjunction with modulation of polarized light, resulting in simultaneous angular polarization of ReSe2. This angular polarization was utilized for the chiral detection of tyrosine. Varying enantiomeric excess (ee) leads to inverse nonreciprocal angular deflections, which we propose arise from interactions between the chiral near-field and optical vectors modified by chiral molecules with distinct ee values. This phenomenon is primarily attributed to the optical spin Hall effect within the field, generating distinct vector deflections that can be utilized to discriminate between different enantiomers. Ultimately, we demonstrate selective identification of chiral substances by establishing a correlation between the optical inversion angle and ee value. AbstractObjectiveMethodsResultsConclusionTo investigate the effects of combined acupuncture anesthesia and ropivacaine on postoperative analgesia and neuro-related factors in patients undergoing chest surgery.The analgesic drug dosage, postoperative PCIA pressing times, VAS scores at rest and during activity at 6 h (T1), 12 h (T2), 18 h (T3), and 24 h (T4) postoperatively.The analgesic drug dosage and postoperative PCIA pressing times were lower in the observation group than in the control group (p < 0.05). The VAS scores at T1–T4 postoperatively were lower in the observation group than in the control group (p < 0.05). The SAS scores at T1–T4 postoperatively were lower in the observation group than in the control group (p < 0.05). The levels of IL-6 and IL-10 on postoperative day 1 were higher than those on preoperative day 1 in both groups, with a smaller change in the observation group (p < 0.05). The levels of S100β protein on postoperative day 1 were higher than those on preoperative day 1 in both groups, while the BDNF levels were lower, with a smaller change in the observation group (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the control group (11.36%) and the observation group (15.56%) (p > 0.05).Combined acupuncture anesthesia and ropivacaine can effectively improve postoperative analgesia and agitation in patients undergoing chest surgery, reduce the dosage of analgesic drugs, regulate the levels of inflammatory factors and neurotrophic factors in patients, and do not increase the risk of adverse reactions related to patients. 2D hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN), which has a similar honeycomb lattice structure to graphene, is a promising dielectric material for a wide variety of applications. Herein, the growth of high‐quality and large‐size multilayer h‐BN crystals on Cu foils is reported by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) at atmospheric pressure. The size of an individual isolated hexagonal crystal of h‐BN is about 20 µm, and the thickness is 3 nm. This paper studies the variables that affect h‐BN growth during the process and the microstructure changes during the growth. Through analysis of the thermal and dynamic processes of chemical vapor deposition, relationships are derived between the mass of h‐BN grown in the gas phase and various temperature and pressure factors. This information is used to develop appropriate parameters for commercial copper foil growth. Finally, using optimized conditions, high‐quality h‐BN at high pressure and low gas flow conditions are grown. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) and Benzisothiazolinone (BIT) are two widely used non-oxidizing biocides of isothiazolinones. Their production and usage volume have sharply increased since the pandemic of COVID-19, inevitably leading to more release into water environment. However, their photochemical behaviors in water environment are still unclear. Therefore, this study investigated photodegradation properties of MIT and BIT in natural water under simulated sunlight. The results demonstrated that direct photolysis was mainly responsible for their photodegradation which occurred through their excited singlet states rather than triplet states. The quantum yields of MIT and BIT photodegradation were 11 - 13.6 × 10 -4 and 2.43 - 5.79 × 10 -4 , respectively. pH had almost no effect on the photodegradation of MIT, while the photodegradation of BIT was significantly promoted under alkaline condition due to abundance of BIT in its deprotonated form (BIT-N - ). Cl - , NO 3 - and dissolved organic matter (DOM) in natural water inhibited the photodegradation of both MIT and BIT, with the light screening effect of DOM being the most significantly inhibitory factor. The addition of other isothiazolinones, which possibly coexisted with MIT and BIT in actual condition, slightly inhibited the photodegradation of MIT and BIT. The estimated half-life under natural sunlight at a 30°N latitude was estimated to be approximately 1.1 days. The photodegradation pathways of MIT and BIT are similar, primarily initiated from the ring-opening at the N-S bond, with Frontier electron densities (FED) calculations suggesting the likelihood of oxidation and ·OH addition reactions at the O, N, and S sites. While the photodegradation products exhibited significantly reduced acute toxicity compared to their parent compounds, they nonetheless posed substantial chronic toxicity. Objective: To determine the genetic causes of monogenic inherited diseases in a couple using clinical whole exome sequencing (WES) and advise on their reproductive choices., Methods: WES was applied to a couple seeking reproductive advice, the female with short stature and the male with congenital cataracts., Results: (1) The woman exhibited a 13.8 Kb heterozygous deletion at chrX: 591590-605428 (hg19). This region corresponds to exons 2-6 of the short-stature homeobox-containing ( SHOX ) gene (NM000451). Associated diseases involving the SHOX gene range from severe Leri-Weill dyschondrosteosis to mild nonspecific short stature. Meanwhile, further validation using a quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay confirmed the heterozygous deletion of the SHOX gene in the proband, as well as other family members with similar clinical characteristics (the proband's mother, aunt, and cousin). Multiple pathogenic reports of this variant have been included in the HGMD database. Per the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) classification criteria, this deletion is classified as pathogenic. (2) For the male patient, a heterozygous variant was detected in the CRYBB3 gene: NM004076: c.226G>A (p.Gly76R). Variants in the CRYBB3 gene can cause Cataract 22 (OMIM: 609741). At present, this variant locus is not included in databases such as the gnomAD, while both SIFT and PolyPhen2 deem this locus 'damaging'. Moreover, further validation by Sanger sequencing confirmed that the variant was inherited from the male patient's mother, who also had cataracts. According to ACMG standards and guidelines, the c.226G>A (p.Gly76Arg) variant in the CRYBB3 gene is classified as having 'uncertain significance'., Conclusion: WES identified pathogenic variants in both individuals, suggesting a 25% chance of a healthy child naturally.
