Flexible perovskite solar cells (fPSCs) prepared on flexible plastic substrates exhibit poor stability under illumination in ambient, due to inferior gas barrier properties of plastic substrates. Herein, we investigated effect of different modifications of the back surface of the substrate to improve stability under illumination in ambient. T80 under simulated solar illumination at maximum power point in ambient (ISOS‐L‐1) can be increased from 80 h to over 350 h with the deposition of a single layer (by spin‐coating or by atomic layer deposition (ALD)). While ALD layers resulted in the best T80 value and significant reduction of the oxygen transmission rate compared to other modifications even for very low film thickness (≈10 nm), a simple solution‐processed spin‐on‐glass barrier layer also enables significant (more than 4 times) improvement in device stability. This work illustrates the importance of barrier layers for decreasing the ingress of oxygen and moisture into fPSCs through the plastic substrate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article focuses on a systematic review and meta-analysis of videoconferencing interventions on stroke survivors' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and maintain balance. While the meta-analysis found promising results for balance outcomes, the evidence for ADLs remains inconclusive, indicating the need for more rigorous trials to confirm the effectiveness of videoconferencing in stroke rehabilitation.

An exquisite, engineering of two poor hole transporting materials (HTMs, SnO, and PDTON) to form an excellent double‐layered HTL (SnO/PDTON) for inverted tin‐perovskite solar modules (TPSMs) is developed. SnO/PDTON has better photovoltaic performance than the commonly used PEDOT:PSS HTM when large‐area TPSMs are fabricated. Thermally evaporated SnO (that is a simple, available oxide with high hole mobility, good transparency, and adjustable frontier orbitals energy levels) film is used as a main hole transporting layer (HTL). Amphiphilic polymer PDTON (having the amine and ether groups on the side chains) film is used as a Co‐HTL, cross‐linker, passivator, and interface modification agent, as unveiled various physicochemical studies. Double‐layered SnO/PDTON with a flat morphology and good affinity toward perovskite precursor solution creates also a proper surface for depositing large‐area, high‐quality TPsk film. Therefore, TPSM (25.2 cm2 active area on 10 cm × 10 cm ITO substrate) based on double‐layered SnO/PDTON HTL achieving an efficiency over 10% with a negligible current hysteresis is reported for the first time. This study emphasizes not only the exquisite design of combining the specific characteristics of two prosaic HTMs to become a good double‐layered HTL but also gives a direction toward fabricating TPSMs to be applied in all‐perovskite tandem solar module. Further improvements in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) require better control of ionic defects in the perovskite photoactive layer during the manufacturing stage and their usage 1-5 . Here, we report a living passivation strategy using a hindered urea/thiocarbamate bond 6-8 Lewis acid-base material (HUBLA), where dynamic covalent bonds with water and heat-activated characteristics can dynamically heal the perovskite to ensure device performance and stability. Upon exposure to moisture or heat, HUBLA generates new agents and further passivates defects in the perovskite. This passivation strategy achieved high-performance devices with a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.1%. HUBLA devices retained 94% of their initial PCE for approximately 1500 hours of aging at 85 °C in N 2 and maintained 88% of their initial PCE after 1000 hours of aging at 85 °C and 30% relative humidity (RH) in air., (© 2024. Background: Postoperative ileus (POI) is a complication that may occur after abdominal or nonabdominal surgery. Intravenous dexmedetomidine (Dex) has been reported to accelerate postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery; however, updated evidence is required to confirm its robustness., Methods: To identify randomized controlled trials examining the effects of perioperative intravenous Dex on gastrointestinal function recovery in patients undergoing noncardiac surgery, databases including MEDLINE, EMBASE, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library were searched on August 2023. The primary outcome was time to first flatus. Secondary outcomes included time to oral intake and defecation as well as postoperative pain scores, postoperative nausea/vomiting (PONV), risk of hemodynamic instability, and length of hospital stay (LOS). To confirm its robustness, subgroup analyses and trial sequential analysis were performed., Results: The meta-analysis of 22 randomized controlled trials with 2566 patients showed that Dex significantly reduced the time to flatus [mean difference (MD):-7.19 h, P <0.00001), time to oral intake (MD: -6.44 h, P =0.001), time to defecation (MD:-13.84 h, P =0.008), LOS (MD:-1.08 days, P <0.0001), and PONV risk (risk ratio: 0.61, P <0.00001) without differences in hemodynamic stability and pain severity compared with the control group. Trial sequential analysis supported sufficient evidence favoring Dex for accelerating bowel function. Subgroup analyses confirmed the positive impact of Dex on the time to flatus across different surgical categories and sexes. However, this benefit has not been observed in studies conducted in regions outside China., Conclusions: Perioperative intravenous Dex may enhance postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery and reduce LOS, thereby validating its use in patients for whom postoperative ileus is a significant concern., (Copyright © 2023 The Author(s). At present, timely and accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of Epstein- Barr Virus (EBV) infection-associated fever remain a difficult challenge. EBV encodes 44 mature microRNAs (miRNAs) that inhibit viral lysis, adjust inflammatory response, regulate cellular apoptosis, promote tumor genesis and metastasis, and regulate tumor cell metabolism. Herein, we have collected the specific expression data of EBV-miRNAs in EBV-related fevers, including infectious mononucleosis (IM), EBVassociated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (EBV-HLH), chronic active EBV infection (CAEBV), and EBV-related tumors, and proposed the potential value of EBVmiRNAs as biomarkers to assist in the identification, diagnosis, and prognosis of EBVrelated fever, as well as therapeutic targets for drug development., (Copyright© Bentham Science Publishers; For any queries, please email at epub@benthamscience.net.)
