TiN/TiO 2 composite ceramics coatings have been deposited on the surface of Q345B structural steel using supersonic dual-filament arc spraying. The structural, mechanical, wear resistance and corrosion resistance properties of TiN/TiO 2 composite ceramics coatings were systematically analyzed using various characterization techniques. The physical and chemical compositions, surface morphology, Young's modulus and hardness of the coatings were analyzed using XRD, XPS, SEM, EDS and nanoindentation. The corrosion resistance properties of the coatings were evaluated using potentiodynamic polarization tests in a 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The wear condition and specific wear rate of linear reciprocating friction of the coatings and Q345B against GCr15 steel balls at different normal loads of 5 N and 10 N and in a 3.5 wt% NaCl corrosive solution environment were investigated using a Rtec-multifunctional friction machine. The wear surface and wear mechanism were also analyzed. The results show that the coating thickness is approximately 300 μm, the internal structure is uniform and dense, and the overall porosity is low, exhibiting a certain laminar structure. The coating exhibits extremely high hardness and high Young's modulus of 26.3 GPa and 264.3 GPa, respectively, with a 10.2-fold increase in hardness over the substrate. The corrosion current of the coatings decreased by three orders of magnitude compared to the substrate, with higher polarization resistance and charge transfer resistance. In wear tests under different conditions, the coatings exhibit perfect wear resistance characteristics, with a specific wear rate of only 5.19%–14.48% of the substrate specific wear rate. Objectives: Ottelia Pers. is in the Hydrocharitaceae family. Species in the genus are aquatic, and China is their centre of origin in Asia. Ottelia alismoides (L.) Pers., which is distributed worldwide, is a distinguishing element in China, while other species of this genus are endemic to China. However, O. alismoides is also considered endangered due to habitat loss and pollution in some Asian countries. Ottelia alismoides is the only submerged macrophyte that contains three carbon dioxide-concentrating mechanisms, i.e. bicarbonate (HCO3−) use, crassulacean acid metabolism and the C4 pathway. In this study, we present its first genome assembly to help illustrate the various carbon metabolism mechanisms and to enable genetic conservation in the future. Data description: Using DNA and RNA extracted from one O. alismoides leaf, this work produced ∼ 73.4 Gb HiFi reads, ∼ 126.4 Gb whole genome sequencing short reads and ∼ 21.9 Gb RNA-seq reads. The de novo genome assembly was 6,455,939,835 bp in length, with 11,923 scaffolds/contigs and an N50 of 790,733 bp. Genome assembly completeness assessment with Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs revealed a score of 94.4%. The repetitive sequence in the assembly was 4,875,817,144 bp (75.5%). Objective: Nasopharyngeal adenoid cystic carcinoma (NACC) is a rare malignancy with special biological features. Controversies exist regarding the treatment approach and prognostic factors in the IMRT era. This study aimed to evaluate the long-term outcomes and management approaches in NACC. Methods: Fifty patients with NACC at our institution between 2010 and 2020 were reviewed. Sixteen patients received primary radiotherapy (RT), and 34 patients underwent primary surgery. Results: Between January 2010 and October 2020, a total of 50 patients with pathologically proven NACC were included in our analysis. The median follow-up time was 58.5 months (range: 6.0–151.0 months). The 5-year overall survival rate (OS) and progression-free survival rate (PFS) were 83.9% and 67.5%, respectively. The 5-year OS rates of patients whose primary treatment was surgery and RT were 90.0% and 67.3%, respectively (log-rank P = 0.028). The 5-year PFS rates of patients whose primary treatment was surgery or RT were 80.8% and 40.7%, respectively (log-rank P = 0.024). Multivariate analyses showed that nerve invasion and the pattern of primary treatment were independent factors associated with PFS. Conclusions: Due to the relative insensitivity to radiation, primary surgery seemed to provide a better chance of disease control and improved survival in NACC. Meanwhile, postoperative radiotherapy should be performed for advanced stage or residual tumours. Investigating the factors that influence individual decisions to participate in social health insurance is an essential component of constructing a multi-tiered, comprehensive social health insurance system, and religious beliefs may constitute an important potential factor. Utilising data from the China General Social Survey (CGSS), this study has developed a comprehensive explanatory framework encompassing both macro- and micro-level analyses to ascertain the impact of religious beliefs on individual decisions to participate in social health insurance through quantitative methods. The findings indicate that religious beliefs significantly diminish the likelihood of individuals participating in social health insurance, and the influence varies among different types of religions; endogeneity and robustness tests offer robust support for these conclusions. With respect to heterogeneity, the influence of religious beliefs on the decision to participate in social health insurance exhibits differentiation across dimensions such as educational attainment, social trust levels, income levels, and self-rated health statuses. Solid‐state lithium metal batteries (SSLMBs) have gained extensive attraction as one kind of next‐generation energy storage device. However, the drawbacks of flammability, low mechanical strength, and low ionic conductivity limit the further development of solid‐state polymer electrolytes (SPEs). In this work, a reactive flame‐retardant unit into the polymer framework via covalent bonding to create a nonflammable and stretchable polyurethane‐based SPEs is introduced. Meanwhile, the mechanical strength of the polymer backbone is increased by grafting a rigid benzene ring unit, which remarkably suppresses the lithium‐dendrite growth. As a result, these inflammable SPEs do not burn after contact with flames for 6 s. Furthermore, the obtained SPE expands the electrochemical stability window up to 5.1 V. Small monomers containing bromine decompose on the surface of lithium metal creating a LiBr riched solid electrolyte interface (SEI). Li|SPEs|Li symmetric battery offers a stable cycling life for more than 2100 h at 0.2 mA cm−2 and 0.2 mAh cm−2. The LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2|SPEs|Li cell equipped with the integrated cathode delivers a 142.1 mAh g−1 capacity after 330 cycles at 0.3 C with 85.2% capacity retention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Brasenia is a monotypic genus in the family of Cabombaceae. The only species, B. schreberi, is a macrophyte distributed worldwide. Because it requires good water quality, it is endangered in China and other countries due to the deterioration of aquatic habitats. The young leaves and stems of B. schreberi are covered by thick mucilage, which has high medical value. As an allelopathic aquatic plant, it can also be used in the management of aquatic weeds. Here, we present its assembled and annotated genome to help shed light on medial and allelopathic substrates and facilitate their conservation. Data description: Genomic DNA and RNA extracted from B. schreberi leaf tissues were used for whole genome and RNA sequencing using a Nanopore and/or MGI sequencer. The assembly was 1,055,148,839 bp in length, with 92 contigs and an N50 of 22,379,495 bp. The repetitive elements in the assembly were 555,442,205 bp. A completeness assessment of the assembly with BUSCO and compleasm indicated 88.4 and 90.9% completeness in the Eudicots database and 95.4 and 96.6% completeness in the Embryphyta database. Background: Burnout is a common issue among medical professionals, and one of the well-studied predisposing factors is the Big Five personality traits. However, no studies have explored the relationships between these traits and burnout from a trait-to-component perspective. To understand the specific connections between each Big Five trait and burnout components, as well as the bridging effects of each trait on burnout, we employed network analysis. Methods: A cluster sampling method was used to select a total of 420 Chinese medical personnel. The 15-item Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory-15 (CBF-PI-15) assessed the Big Five personality traits, while the 15-item Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) assessed burnout components. Network analysis was used to estimate network structure of Big Five personality traits and burnout components and calculate the bridge expected influence. Results: The study revealed distinct and clear relationships between the Big Five personality traits and burnout components. For instance, Neuroticism was positively related to Doubt significance and Worthwhile, while Conscientiousness was negatively related to Accomplish all tasks. Among the Big Five traits, Neuroticism displayed the highest positive bridge expected influence, while Conscientiousness displayed the highest negative bridge expected influence. Conclusions: The network model provides a means to investigate the connections between the Big Five personality traits and burnout components among medical professionals. This study offers new avenues for thought and potential targets for burnout prevention and treatment in medical personnel, which can be further explored and tested in clinical settings. This research aims to explore the spatiotemporal distribution patterns of negative emotions in mainland China during different stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and the external factors influencing this clustering. Using Baidu Index data for 91 negative emotion keywords, a retrospective geographic analysis was conducted across Chinese provinces from 14 October 2019 to 7 July 2022. Four spatial analysis methods (Global Moran's Index, Local Moran's Index, Bivariate Global Moran's Index, and Bivariate Local Moran's Index) are employed to identify potential clustering patterns and influencing factors of negative emotions at different stages. The results indicate that the COVID-19 pandemic significantly intensified the clustering effect of negative emotions in China, particularly with a more pronounced radiation effect in northwestern provinces. Spatial positive correlations are observed between pandemic-related Baidu indices (pandemic Baidu index, government Baidu index, nucleic acid Baidu index) and negative emotions. These findings contribute to understanding the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of negative emotions in China post the COVID-19 outbreak and can guide the allocation of psychological resources during emergencies, thereby promoting social stability. During the COVID-19 pandemic, anti-Asian violence in the United States has risen significantly. Many Asian American students have been disproportionately harassed in schools and fear resuming in-person learning. Thus, educators must resist returning to the old normal. Instead, they can reimagine the pandemic as a portal to justice for Asian American youth. The authors build on three hallmarks of ethnic studies curriculum as counternarrative, reclaiming cultural identities, and community engagement to suggest how ethnic studies commonalities can be mapped to social studies curricula to create a portal to affirm and empower Asian American students after the COVID-19 pandemic. With the increasingly prominent defects of traditional fossil energy, large-scale renewable energy access to power grids has become a trend. In this study, a microgrid operation optimization method, including power-to-gas equipment and a hybrid energy storage system, is proposed. Firstly, this study constructs a microgrid system structure including P2G equipment and a hybrid energy storage system of electricity and hydrogen. Secondly, aiming at minimizing the system operation cost and carbon emission penalty cost, a low-carbon economic operation optimization model of the proposed microgrid is established. Then, this study proposes a microgrid optimization method based on an improved gazelle optimization algorithm to symmetrically improve economic and environmental performance. Finally, the practicability and superiority of the above model and optimization method are verified using a real microgrid case. The results show that considering the participation of P2G equipment and a hybrid energy storage system in the optimal operation, the carbon emission of the microgrid is reduced to 33.56% of the microgrid considering only a single electric energy storage system, and the comprehensive operation cost is reduced by 6.54%. Owing to the low drug delivery efficiency and limited immunosuppression effect, complete cure for RA remains a formidable challenge. Here, we show that live macrophages (Mφs) carrying protoporphyrin-loaded Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles can migrate to the RA tissues and inhibit the inflammation by sonodynamic therapy. The inflammation of RA leads to the release of cytokines, which guides the migration of the Mφs into the RA tissues, realizing precise delivery of therapeutics. The following sonodynamic therapy induced by ultrasound and protoporphyrin destructs the proliferating synovial cells and also infiltrated inflammatory cells, demonstrating significant therapeutic effect for RA. [Display omitted] Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common form of primary liver cancers, accounts for a significant portion of cancer-related death globally. However, the molecular mechanisms driving the onset and progression of HCC are still not fully understood. Emerging evidence has indicated that non-protein-coding regions of genomes could give rise to transcripts, termed non-coding RNA (ncRNA), forming novel functional driving force for aberrant cellular activity. Over the past decades, overwhelming evidence has denoted involvement of a complex array of molecular function of ncRNAs at different stages of HCC tumorigenesis and progression. In this context, several pre-clinical studies have highlighted the potentials of ncRNAs as novel therapeutic modalities in the management of human HCC. Moreover, N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification, the most prevalent form of internal mRNA modifications in mammalian cells, is essential for the governance of biological processes within cells. Dysregulation of m6A in ncRNAs has been implicated in human carcinogenesis, including HCC. In this review, we will discuss dysregulation of several hallmark ncRNAs (miRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs) in HCC and address the latest advances for their involvement in the onset and progression of HCC. We also focus on dysregulation of m6A modification and various m6A regulators in the etiology of HCC. • Designed a self-powered intelligent sensing system (IGS) for real-time monitoring of human movement steps and pace. • IGS can be used in sports scenarios such as triple jump or hurdle races that require pressure sensing monitoring. • P(AM-MA)-PEI hydrogels exhibit excellent stretchability (>800 %) and conductive recoverability. • DES-TENG demonstrates excellent contact sensing performance in terms of high frequency, high pressure, and durability. With the continuous development of intelligent wearable devices, new requirements are put forward for the collection of human motion information. In this paper, a self-powered motion sensor with high precision, high stability and high output power was prepared by utilizing the flexibility and stretchability of the conductive hydrogel and combining with the nanogenerator. Even at a contact frequency of 3.0 Hz, the sensor can produce an open circuit voltage of 225 V and a power density of 187 mW m−2. It can not only be used as a power source to drive electronic devices, but also to achieve accurate acquisition of human movement steps and walking speed. When applying different forces, the sensor shows a more obvious difference, and its theoretical resolution can reach 0.1 N. Because the hinge hydrogel has good flexibility, resilience and stability, it can still maintain its original shape after 4000 times of pressure testing, and can be directly attached to the human skin surface, providing a new idea for the field of self-powered pressure sensors. The steady operation and extended service lives of rocket sled test systems are impacted by the tribological performances of the rocket sled sliders. In this work, CoCrNi and CoCrFeMnNi alloys were considered candidate materials for rocket sled sliders serving under high-speed and heavy-load conditions. The simulation analysis was carried out by ANSYS. The results showed that the stress on the contact surface was uneven, and there were stress gradient changed and stress concentration. Significant wear occurred on the front-end of the slider. The results of this work can serve as a reference for practical engineering applications involving rocket sled sliders. Optical neural networks have shown promising advantages over its electronic counterpart due to fast computational speed, high throughput, and low energy consumption. For the deep neural networks mimicked by the cascaded phase masks, the conventional training algorithm results in abruptly varying phase profiles. In this work, we show that even two kinds of diffraction formulas give completely different results for the identical rough phase masks, which denotes that the training process harvests the inaccuracy of the used diffraction modeling, which prevents the results from being replicated when the diffraction is formularized by other numerical methods or implemented in the real world. The modeling inaccuracy of each phase mask accumulates to prevent the successful optical implementation. In this work, we propose a two-step training framework to enforce smooth phase masks, and thus reduce the mismatch between numerical modeling and practical deployment. • A two-step procedure for smoothening the phase masks in diffractive deep neural network is proposed. • The smoothness of the phase masks is found to be crucial for the accurate modeling of diffractive deep neural network. • The comparison between the calculation results of the direct integration of Rayleigh-Sommerfield diffraction equation and the angular spectrum method is used to validate the designed phase masks. • The proposed training scheme exhibits less-affected classification accuracy under various misalignments. Selenium (Se) is an indispensable trace element for humans and other animals. Currently, Se deficiency is a prevalent global issue, contributing to the overall inadequate Se content in wheat grains. Wheat is significant source of Se intake for humans. The objective was to evaluate the impact on yield and establish a theoretical foundation for the judicious use of Se fertilizers and the production of high-quality, Se-rich wheat. A comprehensive meta-analysis of 51 publications comprising 387 yield records and 554 grain Se content records pertaining to wheat was conducted. The primary findings revealed that the effect of Se fertilizer on yield was more pronounced in winter wheat than spring wheat. However, Se fertilizer enhanced the grain protein content in both winter and spring wheat. Notably, the effects on both yield and grain protein were more significant in soils with high Se and organic matter contents. Overall, this study shows that selenium fertilizer can augment grain Se content without compromising yield under appropriate conditions. We recommend the application of 10–30 g·ha-1 of selenium fertilizer in the form of selenate during the flowering to filling period, as it effectively boosts wheat yield and grain selenium content. • The application of Se significantly enhanced both wheat yield and grain Se content. • Winter wheat responds to Se fertilizer is higher than spring wheat. • Soil Se and organic matter content affected wheat yield and grain Se content. • It is recommended to apply Se fertilizer at a rate of 10-30 g·ha−1. • Selenite and flowering-filling period is the optimal forms and period. Cold spray produces thick and dense deposits that can be applied in additive manufacturing or as a repair to recover damaged components. One potential materials system is WC-reinforced Ni composites, which are known for a combination of high hardness and toughness. WC particle size and distribution are some of the most important variables that impact the mechanical properties and wear resistance. In this study, thick multimodal Ni-24 vol%WC composite coatings were additively manufactured using the cold spray technique. Spherical Ni powder and two types of WC particles, i.e., cast and agglomerated, were used as feedstock materials. The microstructure, porosity, WC distribution, and microhardness of coatings were investigated in comparison with cold-sprayed Ni and Ni-agglomerated WC coatings with similar WC fill ratios. Dry sliding wear of multimodal Ni-WC coatings was studied with a sliding speed of 3 mm/s under normal loads of 5 and 12 N and was then compared to Ni and composite coatings made with only agglomerated WC. Multimodal Ni-WC coatings with an altered distribution of WC particles offered an improvement in friction and wear as compared to Ni-agglomerated WC coatings. Characterization of worn surfaces revealed the formation of tribofilms following compaction of wear debris. A more stable tribofilm that developed to a higher coverage was identified for coatings with multimodal WC particles at both tested loads. However, the protective role of tribofilms was reduced at a higher load, caused by subsurface crack propagation. Subsurface microstructure of worn surfaces that are induced by sliding wear was studied, and a correlation between the mechanical properties and microstructure and wear mechanism of coatings was made. Trilaciclib is a transient cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor that decreases the incidence of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). TRACES study was designed to assess the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics (PK) of trilaciclib before chemotherapy in Chinese patients with ES-SCLC. The study included an open-label safety run-in part (Part 1) and double-blinded, placebo-controlled part (Part 2) where patients received trilaciclib or placebo before chemotherapy. Treatment-naïve or previously treated ES-SCLC patients received intravenous trilaciclib (240 mg/m2) or placebo before etoposide/carboplatin or topotecan, respectively. Primary endpoints were PK, safety and duration of severe neutropenia (DSN) in Cycle 1 in Part 1 and Part 2. Exploratory endpoints included the effect of trilaciclib on other myeloprotection endpoints, safety and antitumor efficacy. Overall, 95 Chinese patients were enrolled, of which 12 and 83 patients were in Part 1 and Part 2, respectively. In Part 1, trilaciclib was well tolerated. Non-compartmental analysis results revealed no substantial differences in the main exposure parameters. In Part 2, 41 patients received trilaciclib, and 42 received placebo. Patients in trilaciclib arm vs placebo arm had a clinically and statistically significant decrease in DSN (mean [SD]) in Cycle 1 (0 [1.7] vs 2 [3.0] days; P = 0.0003), with improvements in additional neutrophil, red blood cell, and platelet measures. After a median follow-up of 14.1 months, the median overall survival was 12.0 months in trilaciclib arm and 8.8 months in placebo arm (HR, 0.69; 95 % CI: 0.40–1.22). Median progression-free survival was 4.8 months and 4.3 months, respectively (HR, 0.86; 95 % CI: 0.53–1.39). Trilaciclib had a well-tolerated safety profile. Trilaciclib in the Chinese population demonstrated a similar PK and safety profile as seen in other global trials. This single-arm, multi-center clinical trial aimed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, DLT, recommended dose (RD), preliminary efficacy, and pharmacokinetics (PK) characteristics of lurbinectedin, a selective inhibitor of oncogenic transcription, in Chinese patients with advanced solid tumors, including relapsed SCLC. Patients with advanced solid tumors were recruited in the dose-escalation stage and received lurbinectedin in a 3 + 3 design (two cohorts: 2.5 mg/m2 and 3.2 mg/m2, IV, q3wk). The RD was expanded in the following dose-expansion stage, including relapsed SCLC patients after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. The primary endpoints included safety profile, tolerability, DLT, RD, and preliminary efficacy profile, while the secondary endpoints included PK characteristics. In the dose-escalation stage, ten patients were included, while one patient had DLT in the 3.2 mg/m2 cohort, which was also the RD for the dose-expansion stage. At cutoff (May 31, 2022), 22 SCLC patients were treated in the ongoing dose-expansion stage, and the median follow-up was 8.1 months (range 3.0–11.7). The most common grade ≥ 3 treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) included neutropenia (77.3%), leukopenia (63.6%), thrombocytopenia (40.9%), anemia (18.2%), and ALT increased (18.2%). The most common severe adverse events (SAEs) included neutropenia (27.3%), leukopenia (22.7%), thrombocytopenia (18.2%), and vomiting (9.1%). No treatment-related deaths occurred. The Independent Review Committee (IRC)-assessed ORR was 45.5% (95% CI 26.9–65.3). Lurbinectedin at the RD (3.2 mg/m2) showed manageable safety and acceptable tolerability in Chinese patients with advanced solid tumors, and demonstrates promising efficacy in Chinese patients with SCLC as second-line therapy. Lipreading refers to translating the lip motion regarding a video speaker into the corresponding texts. Existing lipreading methods typically describe the lip motion using visual appearance variations. However, merely using the lip visual variations is prone to associating with inaccurate texts due to the similar lip shapes for different words. Also, visual features are hard to generalize to unseen speakers, especially when the training data is limited. In this paper, we leverage both lip visual motion and facial landmarks and propose an effective sentence-level end-to-end approach for lipreading. The facial landmarks are introduced to eliminate the irrelevant visual features which are sensitive to specific lip appearance of individual speakers. This enables the model to adapt to different lip shapes of speakers and generalize to unseen speakers. In specific, the proposed framework consists of two branches corresponding to the visual features and facial landmarks. The visual branch extracts high-level visual features from the lip movement, and the landmark branch learns to extract both spatial and temporal patterns described by the landmarks. The feature embeddings from two streams for each frame are fused to form its latent vector which can be decoded into texts. We employ a sequence-to-sequence model to operate the feature embeddings of all frames as input, and decode them to generate the texts. Deep neural networks (DNNs) can be easily deceived by imperceptible alterations known as adversarial examples. These examples can lead to misclassification, posing a significant threat to the reliability of deep learning systems in real-world applications. Adversarial training (AT) is a popular technique used to enhance robustness by training models on a combination of corrupted and clean data. However, existing AT-based methods often struggle to handle transferred adversarial examples that can fool multiple defense models, thereby falling short of meeting the generalization requirements for real-world scenarios. Furthermore, AT typically fails to provide interpretable predictions, which are crucial for domain experts seeking to understand the behavior of DNNs. To overcome these challenges, we present a novel approach called Jacobian norm and Selective Input Gradient Regularization (J-SIGR). Our method leverages Jacobian normalization to improve robustness and introduces regularization of perturbation-based saliency maps, enabling interpretable predictions. By adopting J-SIGR, we achieve enhanced defense capabilities and promote high interpretability of DNNs. We evaluate the effectiveness of J-SIGR across various architectures by subjecting it to powerful adversarial attacks. Our experimental evaluations provide compelling evidence of the efficacy of J-SIGR against transferred adversarial attacks, while preserving interpretability. Key Points: Question: Will an immune checkpoint blocker in combination with perioperative chemotherapy improve event-free survival and major pathological response in patients with resectable non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)? Findings: The prespecified interim analysis of event-free survival revealed that the addition of toripalimab to platinum-based chemotherapy showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in event-free survival compared with chemotherapy alone in patients with stage III NSCLC, while maintaining a manageable safety profile. Objective: To determine whether toripalimab in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy will improve event-free survival and major pathological response in patients with stage II or III resectable NSCLC compared with chemotherapy alone. Design, Setting, and Participants: This randomized clinical trial enrolled patients with stage II or III resectable NSCLC (without EGFR or ALK alterations for nonsquamous NSCLC) from March 12, 2020, to June 19, 2023, at 50 participating hospitals in China. The data cutoff date for this interim analysis was November 30, 2022. Interventions: Patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive 240 mg of toripalimab or placebo once every 3 weeks combined with platinum-based chemotherapy for 3 cycles before surgery and 1 cycle after surgery, followed by toripalimab only (240 mg) or placebo once every 3 weeks for up to 13 cycles. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcomes were event-free survival (assessed by the investigators) and the major pathological response rate (assessed by blinded, independent pathological review). The secondary outcomes included the pathological complete response rate (assessed by blinded, independent pathological review) and adverse events. Results: Of the 501 patients randomized, 404 had stage III NSCLC (202 in the toripalimab + chemotherapy group and 202 in the placebo + chemotherapy group) and 97 had stage II NSCLC and were excluded from this interim analysis. The median age was 62 years (IQR, 56-65 years), 92% of patients were male, and the median follow-up was 18.3 months (IQR, 12.7-22.5 months). For the primary outcome of event-free survival, the median length was not estimable (95% CI, 24.4 months-not estimable) in the toripalimab group compared with 15.1 months (95% CI, 10.6-21.9 months) in the placebo group (hazard ratio, 0.40 [95% CI, 0.28-0.57], P <.001). The major pathological response rate (another primary outcome) was 48.5% (95% CI, 41.4%-55.6%) in the toripalimab group compared with 8.4% (95% CI, 5.0%-13.1%) in the placebo group (between-group difference, 40.2% [95% CI, 32.2%-48.1%], P <.001). The pathological complete response rate (secondary outcome) was 24.8% (95% CI, 19.0%-31.3%) in the toripalimab group compared with 1.0% (95% CI, 0.1%-3.5%) in the placebo group (between-group difference, 23.7% [95% CI, 17.6%-29.8%]). The incidence of immune-related adverse events occurred more frequently in the toripalimab group. No unexpected treatment-related toxic effects were identified. Background: Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) is mainly characterized by specific facial features, growth retardation, and bone deformities. Seven genes reportedly cause CdLS. Recent research has reported that loss‐of‐function variants affecting MAU2, which encodes a regulator of the cohesin complex, can cause CdLS. Thus far, only one MAU2‐CdLS case has been reported worldwide. Methods: We detected a novel variant in MAU2 gene, NM_015329, c.526C>T (p.Arg176Trp) in a Chinese patient with CdLS, constructed a plasmid for in vitro transcriptional and protein level analysis, and analyzed the interaction between the MAU2/NIPBL complex using molecular dynamics (MD). Results: The results showed that the level of the exogenous MAU2 mutant protein was significantly reduced compared with that of the exogenous wild‐type protein. However, MD analysis predicted an increased binding free energy between the MAU2 and NIPBL proteins that may impact the structural stability of the complex. Conclusion: We investigated a MAU2‐CdLS case in a Chinese family, which strengthens the association between MAU2 variants and CdLS phenotypes. A thorough understanding of the internal conversion process between excited states is important for the designing of ideal multiple‐emissive materials. However, it is hard to experimentally measure both the energy barriers and gaps between the excited states of a compound. For a long time, it is dubious if what was measured is the energy gap or barrier between two excited states. In this paper, we designed 1‐(pyren‐2'‐yl)‐9,12‐di(p‐tolyl)‐o‐carborane (2), which shows dual‐emission in solution. Temperature‐dependent fluorescence measurements show that the two emission bands in hexane are corresponding to two different excited states. The ratio of the emission bands is controlled by thermodynamics at higher temperatures and by kinetics at lower temperatures. Background: China experienced an overwhelming COVID-19 pandemic from middle December 2022 to middle January 2023 after lifting the zero-COVID-19 policy on December 7, 2022. However, the infection rate was less studied. We aimed to investigate the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate in children shortly after discontinuation of the zero-COVID-19 policy. Methods: From February 20 to April 10, 2023, we included 393 children aged 8 months to less than 3 years who did not receive COVID-19 vaccination and 114 children aged 3 to 6 years who received inactivated COVID-19 vaccines based on the convenience sampling in this cross-sectional study. IgG and IgM antibodies against nucleocapsid (N) and subunit 1 of spike (S1) of SARS-CoV-2 (anti-N/S1) were measured with commercial kits (Shenzhen YHLO Biotech, China). Results: Of the 393 unvaccinated children (1.5 ± 0.6 years; 52.2% boys), 369 (93.9%) were anti-N/S1 IgG positive. Of the 114 vaccinated children (5.3 ± 0.9 years; 48.2% boys), 112 (98.2%) were anti-N/S1 IgG positive. None of the unvaccinated or vaccinated children was anti-N/S1 IgM positive. The median IgG antibody titers in vaccinated children (344.91 AU/mL) were significantly higher than that in unvaccinated children (42.80 AU/mL) (P < 0.0001). The positive rates and titers of anti-N/S1 IgG had no significant difference between boys and girls respectively. Conclusion: Vast majority of children were infected with SARS-CoV-2 shortly after ending zero-COVID-19 policy in China. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images have been widely used for surface water identification due to their all-weather capabilities. However, the presence of inherent speckle noise in SAR data poses a challenge for accurate water identification. Additionally, annotating high-quality water body samples requires significant human labour, which can be costly and time-consuming. Aiming at the above problems, a noise-robust automatic water identification architecture without artificial labels is proposed. First, a two-stage automatic sample collection method that utilizes k-means++ clustering and morphological concepts is designed. Then, a weakly supervised noise-resistant SAR water body segmentation method NRM-ACUNet has been developed based on U-Net combined with LNR-Dice loss function and Conditionally Parameterized Convolutions (CondConv) to minimize the impact of sample noises. Experimental results show that the morphological processing can improve water body sample quality compared to k-means++, and compared with U-Net, NRM-ACUNet performs superior with noise-containing pseudo-samples, achieving 96.8% F1 accuracy and 52.06% accuracy improvement. Brain metastases (BM) are common in patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and confer poor prognoses. Zorifertinib (AZD3759), an EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) with high blood‐brain barrier penetration, has previously demonstrated promising systemic and intracranial antitumor activity in phase 1–3 studies. This is the first report of a patient with EGFR‐mutant (exon 21 L858R) NSCLC and symptomatic untreated multiple BM who achieved a long overall survival (OS) of more than 65 months after sequential treatment with zorifertinib and a third‐generation EGFR‐TKI. Background: The purpose of the study was to investigate the active ingredients and potential biochemical mechanisms of Juanbi capsule in knee osteoarthritis based on network pharmacology, molecular docking and animal experiments. Methods: Chemical components for each drug in the Juanbi capsule were obtained from Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform, while the target proteins for knee osteoarthritis were retrieved from the Drugbank, GeneCards, and OMIM databases. The study compared information on knee osteoarthritis and the targets of drugs to identify common elements. The data was imported into the STRING platform to generate a protein-protein interaction network diagram. Subsequently, a "component-target" network diagram was created using the screened drug components and target information with Cytoscape software. Common targets were imported into Metascape for GO function and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis. AutoDockTools was utilized to predict the molecular docking of the primary chemical components and core targets. Ultimately, the key targets were validated through animal experiments. Results: Juanbi capsule ameliorated Knee osteoarthritis mainly by affecting tumor necrosis factor, interleukin1β, MMP9, PTGS2, VEGFA, TP53, and other cytokines through quercetin, kaempferol, and β-sitosterol. The drug also influenced the AGE-RAGE, interleukin-17, tumor necrosis factor, Relaxin, and NF-κB signaling pathways. The network pharmacology analysis results were further validated in animal experiments. The results indicated that Juanbi capsule could decrease the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β in the serum and synovial fluid of knee osteoarthritis rats and also down-regulate the expression levels of MMP9 and PTGS2 proteins in the articular cartilage. Conclusion: Juanbi capsule may improve the knee bone microstructure and reduce the expression of inflammatory factors of knee osteoarthritis via multiple targets and multiple signaling pathways. Background: To establish a method to induce Campylobacter jejuni colonization in the intestines of C57BL/6 mice through antibiotic-induced microbiome depletion. Results: Fifty-four female C57BL/6 mice were divided into the normal, control, and experimental groups. The experimental group was administered intragastric cefoperazone sodium and sulbactam sodium (50 mg/mL) for 2 days; then, the experimental and control mice were intragastrically administered 200 µL C. jejuni, which was repeated once more after 2 days. Animal feces were collected, and the HipO gene of C. jejuni was detected using TaqMan qPCR from day 1 to day 14 after modeling completion. Immunofluorescence was used to detect intestinal C. jejuni colonization on day 14, and pathological changes were observed using hematoxylin and eosin staining. Additionally, 16S rDNA analyses of the intestinal contents were conducted on day 14. In the experimental group, C. jejuni was detected in the feces from days 1 to 14 on TaqMan qPCR, and immunofluorescence-labeled C. jejuni were visibly discernable in the intestinal lumen. The intestinal mucosa was generally intact and showed no significant inflammatory-cell infiltration. Diversity analysis of the colonic microbiota showed significant inter-group differences. In the experimental group, the composition of the colonic microbiota differed from that in the other 2 groups at the phylum level, and was characterized by a higher proportion of Bacteroidetes and a lower proportion of Firmicutes. Artemisinin has an endoperoxide bridge structure, which can be cleaved by ferrous ions to generate various carbonyl radicals in an oxygen-independent manner, highlighting its potential for treating hypoxic tumors. In our study, we fabricated Tween 80 micelles loaded with Fe3O4 nanoparticles and artemisinin for cancer therapy. The synthesized Fe3O4 nanoparticles and drug-loaded micelles have particle sizes of about 5 nm and 80 nm, respectively, both exhibiting excellent dispersibility and stability. After uptake by MCF-7 cells, drug-loaded micelles release Fe2+ and ART into the cytoplasm, effectively inducing the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in hypoxic conditions, thereby enhancing toxicity against cancer cells. In vitro and in vivo studies have demonstrated that ART and Fe3O4 nanoparticles are encapsulated in Tween 80 to form micelles, which effectively prevent premature release during circulation in the body. Although free ART and Fe3O4 nanoparticles can inhibit tumor growth, TW80-Fe3O4-ART micelles demonstrate a more pronounced inhibitory effect, with a tumor suppression rate of up to 85%. Background: Poor nurse-patient relationship poses an obstacle to care delivery, jeopardizing patient experience and patient care outcomes. Measuring nurse-patient relationship is challenging given its multi-dimensional nature and a lack of well-established scales. Purpose: This study aimed to develop a multi-dimensional scale measuring nurse-patient relationship in China. Methods: A preliminary scale was constructed based on the existing literature and Delphi consultations with 12 nursing experts. The face validity of the scale was tested through a survey of 45 clinical nurses. This was followed by a validation study on 620 clinical nurses. Cronbach's α, content validity and known-group validity of the scale were assessed. The study sample was further divided into two for Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), respectively, to assess the construct validity of the scale. Results: The Nurse-Patient Relationship Scale (NPRS) containing 23 items was developed and validated, measuring five dimensions: nursing behavior, nurse understanding and respect for patient, patient misunderstanding and mistrust in nurse, communication with patient, and interaction with patient. The Cronbach's α of the NPRS ranged from 0.725 to 0.932, indicating high internal consistency. The CFA showed excellent fitness of data into the five-factor structure: χ2/df = 2.431, GFI = 0.933, TLI = 0.923, CFI = 0.939, IFI = 0.923, RMSEA = 0.070. Good content and construct validity are demonstrated through expert consensus and psychometric tests. Conclusion: The NPRS is a valid tool measuring nurse-patient relationship in China. With the implementation of strict emission regulations and the use of cleaner fuels, there has been a considerable reduction in exhaust emissions. However, the relative contribution of tire wear particles (TWPs) to particulate matters is expected to gradually increase. This study conducted laboratory wear experiments on tires equipped on domestically popular vehicle models, testing the factors and particle size distribution of TWPs. The results showed that the content of tire wear particle emission was mainly ultrafine particles, accounting for 94.80% of particles ranging from 6 nm to 10 μm. There were at least two concentration peaks for each test condition and sample, at 10~13 nm and 23~41 nm, respectively. The mass of TWP emission was mainly composed of fine particles and coarse particles, with concentration peaks at 0.5 μm and 1.3–2.5 μm, respectively. Both the number and mass of TWPs exhibited a bimodal distribution, with significant differences in emission intensity among different tire samples. However, there was a good exponential relationship between PM10 mass emissions from tire wear and tire camber angle. The orthogonal experimental results showed that the slip angle showed the greatest impact on TWP emission, followed by speed and load, with the smallest impact from inclination angle. With the increase of antenna aperture and frequency, the influence of solar heat on its performance becomes more and more serious. In this paper, the thermal model of the 110 m aperture radio telescope to be built in Xinjiang is established to study its temperature field characteristics on the summer solstice. The results are as follows: during the day, the highest temperature of the main reflector can reach 42.86 ∘ C, which appears at 14 o'clock, and the temperature of the legs also reaches the peak of 41.74 ∘ C at the same time. The horizontal temperature difference of the back frame will exceed 1 ∘ C at 5, 18, and 19.5 o'clock, the antenna pointing performance will be greatly affected. The temperature field at night is also not uniform, and the temperature difference of the pitching structure is significantly higher than that of other components, with the maximum temperature difference of 6.42 ∘ C. Through the method of numerical simulation and test, it is proved that the wall thickness difference of components is the main reason for the large temperature difference at night. On-line chemical characterization of atmospheric particulate matter (PM) with soft ionization technique and ultrahigh-resolution Mass Spectrometry (UHRMS) provides molecular information of organic constituents in real time. Here we describe the development and application of an automatic measurement system that incorporates PM 2.5 sampling, thermal desorption, atmospheric pressure photoionization, and UHRMS analysis. Molecular formulas of detected organic compounds were deducted from the accurate (±10 ppm) molecular weights obtained at a mass resolution of 100,000, allowing the identification of small organic compounds in PM 2.5. Detection efficiencies of 28 standard compounds were determined and we found a high sensitivity and selectivity towards organic amines with limits of detection below 10 pg. As a proof of principle, PM 2.5 samples collected off-line in winter in the urban area of Beijing were analyzed using the Ionization Module and HRMS of the system. The automatic system was then applied to conduct on-line measurements during the summer time at a time resolution of 2 hr. The detected organic compounds comprised mainly CHON and CHN compounds below 350 m/z. Pronounced seasonal variations in elemental composition were observed with shorter carbon backbones and higher O/C ratios in summer than that in winter. This result is consistent with stronger photochemical reactions and thus a higher oxidation state of organics in summer. Diurnal variation in signal intensity of each formula provides crucial information to reveal its source and formation pathway. We developed a single-particle optical particle counter with polarization detection (SOPC) for the real-time measurement of the optical size and depolarization ratio (defined as the ratio of the vertical component to the parallel component of backward scattering) of atmospheric particles, the polarization ratio (DR) value can reflect the irregularity of the particles. The SOPC can detect aerosol particles with size larger than 500 nm and the maximum particle count rate reaches ∼1.8 × 105 particles per liter. The SOPC uses a modulated polarization laser to measure the optical size of particles according to forward scattering signal and the DR value of the particles by backward S and P signal components. The sampling rate of the SOPC was 106 #/(sec·channel), and all the raw data were processed online. The calibration curve was obtained by polystyrene latex spheres with sizes of 0.5-10 µm, and the average relative deviation of measurement was 3.96% for sub 3 µm particles. T-matrix method calculations showed that the DR value of backscatter light at 120° could describe the variations in the aspect ratio of particles in the above size range. We performed insitu observations for the evaluation of the SOPC, the mass concentration constructed by the SOPC showed good agreement with the PM 2.5 measurements in a nearby state-controlled monitoring site. Methods: A sample of participants (n = 115) with elevated GAD-7 scores (Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-Item Questionnaire [GAD-7] ≥ 10) participated in an online daily diary study in which they reported their GAD symptoms based on DSM-5 diagnostic criteria (eight symptoms in total) for 50 consecutive days. We used a multilevel VAR model to obtain the temporal network. Results: In temporal network, a lot of lagged relationships exist among GAD symptoms and these lagged relationships are all positive. All symptoms have autocorrelations and there are also some interesting feedback loops in temporal network. Sleep disturbance has the highest Out-strength centrality. Conclusions: This study indicates how GAD symptoms interact with each other and strengthen themselves over time, and particularly highlights the relationships between sleep disturbance and other GAD symptoms. Sleep disturbance may play an important role in the dynamic development and maintenance process of GAD. The present study may develop the knowledge of the theoretical model, diagnosis, prevention and intervention of GAD from a temporal symptoms network perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The blue and white porcelain produced in Jingdezhen during China's Yuan Dynasty is an outstanding cultural heritage of ceramic art that has attracted wide attention for its identification. However, the traditional visual identification method is susceptible to misjudgment, thermoluminescence dating damages the samples, and the methods based on chemical analysis are limited by the accuracy and specificity of the elemental features. In this paper, we address the identification challenge by using machine learning techniques combined with portable X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (pXRF) analysis. We collect a large dataset of chemical compositions of Yuan blue and white porcelain from Jingdezhen using pXRF, and propose a graph anomaly detection method based on gradient attention map (GRAM) to identify the porcelain from different dynasties. We treat the porcelain produced in the Yuan dynasty as normal samples and those from other dynasties as abnormal samples. For GRAM, we merely train the variational graph autoencoder (VGAE) model with normal graphs and then use its encoder to extract graph features and compute the anomaly scores by utilizing the GRAM of the graph representations with respect to the node feature embeddings. Objective: There is currently no widely accepted multidimensional health assessment questionnaire for individuals in the Chinese People Liberation Army (PLA). This study developed a multidimensional health survey questionnaire (Comprehensive Health Self-Assessment Questionnaire, CHSAQ) suitable for personnel in the PLA and conducted a preliminary examination of its reliability, validity, and discriminative ability. Methods: After 183 items from 32 dimensions were selected to form the initial version of the CHSAQ, three groups of soldiers were selected from May 2022 to April 2023 and completed three survey rounds (with 183, 131, and 55 valid items). The items were screened based on classic test theory. After screening, the final questionnaire entries were formed, the structure of the questionnaire was explored through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, and its reliability, structural validity, and discriminative ability were evaluated. Results: The final questionnaire consisted of 8 dimensions and 55 items on job satisfaction, anxiety and depression, daily activities, physical function, the otolaryngology system, the integumentary system, sleep disorders, and the visual system. The total cumulative variance contribution rate was 64.648% according to exploratory factor analysis. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, the normed fit index (NFI) was 0.880, and the comparison fit index (CFI) was 0.893 (close to 0.90). The Cronbach's α coefficient of the total questionnaire was 0.970, the split half reliability coefficient was 0.937, and the retest reliability coefficient was 0.902. The results are presented as different pairwise comparisons. Conclusion: Our study developed a self-report questionnaire for evaluating the comprehensive health status of personnel in the PLA in accordance with the standard procedure for questionnaire development. The arbitrary disposal of used brake pads from motor vehicles has resulted in severe heavy metal pollution and resource wastage, highlighting the urgent need to explore the significant untapped potential of these discarded materials. In this study, The in-situ growth of highly dispersed Fe 2 O 3 nanocrystals was achieved by simple oxidation annealing of brake pad debris(BPD). Interestingly, Cu remained unoxidized and acted as a "valence state transformation bridge of Fe 2 O 3 " to construct the "triple Fe-C-Cu sites". The Fenton degradation experiment of pollutants was conducted under constant temperature conditions at 40 °C, a stirring rate of 1300 rpm, a pH value of 3, a catalyst dosage of 0.5 g/L, pollutant dosage ranging from 50 to 400 mg/L, and H 2 O 2 dosage of 0.25 g/L. Experimental results showed that BPD treated at 300 °C for 2 h exhibited optimal Fenton-like oxidation activity, achieving rapid degradation of over 90 % of refractory antibiotics, such as tetracycline and ciprofloxacin, in organic wastewater within 10 min. This remarkable performance was mainly attributed to the synergistic effect of "Fe-C-Cu triple sites", where the electron-donating role of C in the Fe-C and Cu-C interfaces facilitated the conversion of the Fe(III) to Fe(II) and Cu(II) to Cu(I). In addition, the ability of Cu2+ to accept electrons at the Fe-Cu interface promoted the transition from Fe (II) to Fe (III). This "balance of electron gain and loss" accelerated the interfacial electron transfer and the recycle of dual Fenton sites, Fe(II)/Fe(III) and Cu(I)/Cu(II), to generate more ·OH from H 2 O 2. Therefore, this strategy of functionalizing BPD as Fenton-like catalysts without the addition of external Fe provides intriguing prospects for understanding the construction of Fe-based Fenton catalysts and resource utilization of Fe-containing solid waste materials. Hydroxyurea reduces the frequency of vaso‐occlusive complications, increases hemoglobin, and decreases mortality in sickle cell disease (SCD). Although current guidelines recommend escalation to maximum tolerated dose (MTD), the use of fixed low‐dose hydroxyurea is common in low‐resource countries. We conducted a systematic review and meta‐analysis to evaluate the efficacy of escalated doses versus fixed low‐dose of hydroxyurea in adults with SCD. Nine studies were included in the quantitative synthesis, four evaluating fixed low‐dose and five evaluating escalated doses of hydroxyurea. Average daily doses of hydroxyurea in the fixed low‐dose and escalated dose studies were ~10 and 22 mg/kg, respectively. There was no difference in the estimate of vaso‐occlusive crisis rate between escalated and fixed low‐dose studies (p =.73). The mean difference in hemoglobin from baseline to follow‐up was greater for fixed low‐dose than escalated dose studies (1.07 g/dL vs. 0.54 g/dL, p =.01). No difference was seen in the mean estimate of fetal hemoglobin. Despite limited eligible studies and substantial heterogeneity of effect between the studies for several outcomes, there appears to be clinical equipoise regarding the most appropriate hydroxyurea dosing regimen in adults with SCD. Approximately 36% of patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) suffer from severe visual and motor disability (blindness or light perception or unable to walk) with abnormalities of whole-brain functional networks. However, it remains unclear how whole-brain functional networks and their dynamic properties are related to clinical disability in patients with NMOSD. Our study recruited 30 NMOSD patients (37.70 ± 11.99 years) and 45 healthy controls (HC, 41.84 ± 11.23 years). The independent component analysis, sliding-window approach and graph theory analysis were used to explore the static strength, time-varying and topological properties of large-scale functional networks and their associations with disability in NMOSD. Compared to HC, NMOSD patients showed significant alterations in dynamic networks rather than static networks. Specifically, NMOSD patients showed increased occurrence (fractional occupancy; P < 0.001) and more dwell times of the low-connectivity state (P < 0.001) with fewer transitions (P = 0.028) between states than HC, and higher fractional occupancy, increased dwell times of the low-connectivity state and lower transitions were related to more severe disability. Moreover, NMOSD patients exhibited altered small-worldness, decreased degree centrality and reduced clustering coefficients of hub nodes in dynamic networks, related to clinical disability. NMOSD patients exhibited higher occurrence and more dwell time in low-connectivity states, along with fewer transitions between states and decreased topological organizations, revealing the disrupted communication and coordination among brain networks over time. In order to investigate the effect of primary productivity, organic matter dilution, and preservation on the accumulation of organic matter, geochemical data, and proxies of primary productivity, clastic influx, and redox conditions were obtained for organic-rich shales in the Cambrian Niutitang Formation. The primary productivity (total organic carbon [TOC], Mo, P, Ba, and Babio) and redox (Ni/Co, V/Cr, U/Al, and Th/U) proxies suggest the organic-rich shales were deposited in anoxic-euxinic conditions during periods of high primary productivity. Pyrite in the Niutitang Formation comprises spherical framboids, which also indicate that anoxic bottom waters were present during organic matter deposition. High primary productivity enhanced the organic C flux into the thermocline layer and bottom waters, which lead to the development of anoxic bottom waters owing to O2 consumption by microorganisms and organic matter degradation. The anoxic bottom waters were beneficial for the preservation of organic matter. In addition, Ti/Al ratios correlate well with TOC contents throughout the Niutitang Formation, indicating that clastic input increased the burial rate and prevented organic matter degradation during deposition. Therefore, the accumulation of organic matter in the Niutitang Formation was controlled mainly by primary productivity rather than bottom-water redox conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To investigate the influence of organic matter conversion on the evolution of organic matter pores, fractional conversion (TRHI) and loss of TOC (TOCL) from the organic matter conversion of Middle Jurassic Dameigou Formation shale samples were calculated using petrographic analysis. The TRHI of organic matter varies from 0.30 to 0.88 and TOCL content ranges from 0.62% and 4.09%. Relative to samples of Type III organic matter in shales, type II samples exhibit higher TRHI and TOCL values. Petrographic calculations of TRHI reveal that the fractional conversion of different kerogens differs for the same thermal maturity level. The specific surface area (SBET) ranges between 1.25 and 6.63 m2/g and micropore surface area (Smic) ranges between 4.16 and 21.27 m2/g. Correlations between pore structure parameters and TOCL content are higher than those between pore structure parameters and TOC content. The original TOC content decreases with increasing maturity level owing to hydrocarbon generation from organic matter conversion. The development of organic matter pores depends mainly on organic matter conversion, which is influenced by the richness, organic maceral compositions, and thermal maturity of the organic matter. The contents of kaolinite, illite, and mixed-layer illite/smectite (I/S) in the studied shales are 17.83%–37.05%, 5.36%–11.31%, and 5.27%–14.36%, respectively. Pore structure parameters (SBET and Smic) exhibit moderate positive correlations with illite content and I/S content, and moderate negative correlations with kaolinite content, indicating that different clay minerals have differential effects on pore structure.
