BACKGROUND: Nutritional impairment is associated with treatment toxicity and worse overall survival in patients with cancer. We aimed to (1) evaluate the association of nutritional impairment with psychological health and quality of life (QOL) and (2) examine which measures of nutrition had the strongest association with psychological health and QOL among older adults receiving cancer treatment with palliative intent. METHODS: This secondary analysis was performed on baseline data from a nationwide cluster randomized clinical trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT02107443; PI: Mohile). Adults age ≥70 with advanced cancer and ≥1 geriatric assessment (GA) impairment were enrolled from 2014 to 2017. In line with geriatric oncology standards, we defined nutritional impairment as Mini Nutritional Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF) ≤11, body mass index (BMI) 10% involuntary weight loss in the past 6 months. We conducted multivariable linear regressions to evaluate the association of nutritional impairment with each measure of psychological health and QOL: Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15, range 0-15), Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7, range 0-21), NCCN Distress Thermometer (NCCN DT, range 0-10), and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General (FACT-G, range 0-108). Analyses were adjusted for patient demographics, clinical characteristics, and GA. RESULTS: Among 541 patients, the mean age was 77 (range 70-96) and 60% had nutritional impairment. Mean baseline scores: GDS-15 3.1 (SD 2.7), GAD-7 2.9 (SD 4.0), NCCN DT 2.9 (SD 2.7), and FACT-G 80 (SD 15). In the adjusted model, compared to those with no nutritional impairment, older adults with nutritional impairment had greater depression (β = 0.79, 95% CI 0.36-1.23) and anxiety severity (β = 0.86, 95% CI 0.19-1.53), and worse QOL (β = -6.31, 95% CI -8.62 to -4.00). Of the measures of nutrition, MNA-SF ≤11 demonstrated the strongest associations with depression, anxiety, distress, and QOL. CONCLUSION: Nutritional impairment is associated with impaired psychological health and worse QOL. Clinicians should use the MNA-SF to screen older adults for nutritional impairment and offer tailored supportive interventions.

Background: With increasing urbanization in China, the community has assumed the important task of social governance and service provision, which has resulted in an increase in community workers' occupational stress. To date, researchers have studied ways to improve community workers' working ability, but have paid less attention to their health, especially their psychological health. This study examined the relationship between occupational stress, social support and community workers' psychological health. Methods: A total of 545 community workers from 14 cities in Liaoning Province completed a questionnaire including the Occupational Adaptability Scale for Employees (OASE), the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) and the SCL-90-R scale (a measure of psychological health). Correlational and regression analyses were conducted. Results: Community workers' occupational stress mainly derives from their workload, career development opportunities and performance appraisals. Participant's psychological health scores were significantly negatively correlated with occupational stress and significantly positively correlated with social support. Social support plays a moderating effect in the relationship between community workers' occupational stress and their psychological health. Conclusion: It is necessary to establish an effective community support system, reduce the burden on the community, optimize existing work processes and performance appraisal system, create a positive working environment and organizational culture, and promote employee's psychological health. This study explores the relationship between spiritual intelligence and mental health among undergraduate students at Khemis Miliana University. Using Muhammad Essam Muhammad's Spiritual Intelligence Scale (2016) and Ahmed Abdel-Khalek's Arab Mental Health Scale (2026), data from (102) students were analyzed using SPSS 25. Findings reveal a significant positive correlation between spiritual intelligence and mental health, highlighting their interconnectedness. eHealth involves using digital technologies, like electronic health records and telemedicine, to enhance healthcare delivery and outcomes. For older adults, eHealth helps manage chronic conditions, access services remotely, and engage in preventive health, improving physical and psychological well-being. This study investigates the association between online patient–provider communication (OPPC) and older adults' quality of life (QoL, i.e. sleep quality, exercise and psychological health). The study also explores how health literacy and health self-efficacy mediate the relationship between OPPC and QoL. This study utilized data from the National Cancer Institute's Health Information National Trends Survey, collected in 2019 (HINTS 5 Cycle 3), specifically targeting individuals aged ≥ 60 (N  = 2587). The associations among variables were analysed using structural equation modelling. OPPC was positively and significantly associated with health literacy (β  = 0.53, p  < 0.001). Health literacy was positively and significantly related to health self-efficacy (β  = 0.02, p   <  0.001). Health self-efficacy was significantly related to five dimensions of QoL: sleep quality (β  = 0.20, p  < 0.001), fruit and vegetable consumption (β  = 0.13, p  < 0.010), exercise (β  = 0.59, p  < 0.001), sedentariness (β  = −0.58, p  < 0.001) and psychological health (β  = 0.24, p  < 0.001). Besides, health literacy and health self-efficacy also mediated the influence of OPPC on QoL sequentially, being identificators as two serial mediators between OPPC and older adults' QoL. With the advent of modern Medicine, the connections between emotions and medical conditions have primarily been described through observational studies, where conclusions are drawn from correlations of observations rather than experimental research. Psychoanalytical theory has often been used to explain many common illnesses. This approach remains prevalent today. Interestingly, despite the wealth of information now available on the influence of emotions on health, the current divide between neurology and psychiatry, as well as the separation between mental health services and primary care, combined with the time constraints and physicians’ workload, have led to a fragmented approach to many disorders. In these cases, psychological and emotional factors play an important role but are often inadequately addressed. The objective of this paper is to analyse the existing evidence on the relationship between anger and health through a narrative review. The evidence and data presented point to the need for analytical studies based on scientific methodology to explore the relationship between anger and health, and particularly to adopt an integral health approach taking into account social determinants and the role of empathy among the healthcare professionals and clinical and social care. The prevention and treatment of problems related to the high prevalence and intensity of anger are particularly relevant, given the potential negative impact this emotion can have on patients’ physical and mental health, as well as their social adjustment and relationships. This study aims to analyze the effect of psychological health based on artificial intelligence agent technology on the implementation effect of Japanese family education. By combining mobile agent technology and education thought, the system structure and working mechanism of the education support system of agents are studied to build personalized support for the family education system based on mobile agents. A total of 320 Japanese middle school students were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 160 cases in each group. The control group received traditional family health education, while the experimental group received mental health education based on the Agent Technology family education system. The basic information and mental health scores of the two groups of students were compared. The results showed that there were no remarkable differences in the number of male and female cases, weight, height, average age, grade, home address, or family situation between groups (p > 0.05). The psychological health level of the experimental group was considerably superior to that of the control group regarding obsessional symptoms, interpersonal tension and sensitivity, depression, anxiety, learning pressure, maladaptation, emotional imbalance, and psychological imbalance (p < 0.05). In summary, compared with traditional family education, family education of the mental health education system based on agent technology can better improve the level of middle school students' mental health, which can improve student forced symptoms, interpersonal tension and sensitivity, depression, anxiety, learning pressure, maladjustment, emotional imbalance, psychological imbalance, and many other psychological states. Furthermore, personalized support for family education systems based on mobile agents has the advantages of autonomy, responsiveness, initiative, and mobility, which provides a new idea for family education. The rapid development of social reform and the economy has brought great challenges to the mental health of college students. However, there are few studies on the impact of these psychological problems on college students' English learning. As a special group about to enter society, studying the mental health of college students in foreign language learning is of great significance. This paper discusses the principle of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and the interactive mechanism to support college students' foreign language learning. Additionally, the adaptability supporting college students' foreign language learning is analyzed according to the current situation of AI supporting foreign language learning. Then, the mental health of college students in the AI environment is investigated and analyzed. This paper takes foreign and non-foreign language majors of Changchun University of Technology as the object and uses questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observation to obtain basic data. The results show that college students' adaptability to foreign language learning is higher than that of non-foreign. Students' intelligent operation and knowledge storage level impact their adaptability to foreign language learning. Psychological health problems include learning anxiety, loneliness, depression, and inferiority in college students' foreign language learning. These negative emotions, to a certain extent, affect the learning effect of college students' foreign language learning. This paper is of great significance to the adaptability of college students' foreign language learning to the intelligent environment and the analysis of their mental health problems. Objective: The goal of this study was to characterize normative scores for the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI-18) in collegiate athletes to inform decision making about the need for psychological health services in this group. Methods: Collegiate student-athletes (N = 20,034) from 25 universities completed the BSI-18 at their preseason baseline assessment. A subgroup (n = 5,387) underwent multiple baseline assessments. Global Severity Index (GSI) scores were compared to community norms and across multiple timepoints. Results: Collegiate athletes reported significantly lower GSI scores than published community norms (p<.001). Published GSI threshold scores for "caseness", identified only 2 per 100 athletes (≥ the 98th percentile) as needing further evaluation. Using a GSI score ≥ than the cohort's 90th percentile, 11.4 per 100 athletes would merit additional evaluation. These individuals were more likely to report a history of psychiatric diagnosis (Odds ratio [95% CI] 2.745 [2.480, 3.039]), as well as ≥ 2 prior concussions (p<.001). GSI scores were not highly correlated across timepoints. Suicidal ideation was rare (n = 230; 1.15%). Conclusions: For collegiate student-athletes, published BSI-18 threshold scores identify only extreme outliers who might benefit from additional behavioral health evaluation. Alternatively, use of threshold scores ≥ the 90th percentile identifies a more realistic 11.4% of the population, with higher likelihood of prior concussion and/or psychiatric disorders. Many female military service members choose to use hormonal contraception to prevent pregnancy and/or to control or suppress menses. Hormonal contraception, which comes in many different forms based on dose, estrogen/progestin type, and route of administration (oral, vaginal, transdermal, implant, intrauterine device, injectable), may cause side effects, some of which can influence military medical readiness, or the health status necessary to perform assigned missions. This expert review summarizes the evidence around common military-relevant side effects of hormonal contraception that could impact readiness, including effects on weight and body composition, bone health, psychological health, and physical performance, and serves as a tool for uniformed and civilian clinicians counseling female service members about hormonal contraception. Current evidence suggests some hormonal contraception can lead to weight and fat gain, may modulate susceptibility to mood or mental health disorders, and could impact bone mineral density and stress fracture risk; more research is needed on physical performance effects. Clinicians must be familiar with readiness considerations of each type of hormonal contraception to provide comprehensive patient education and allow for optimal shared decision-making about hormonal contraception use among female Service members. Considering the relative lack of data on the effects of nonoral hormonal contraception routes on readiness outcomes and the growing interest in long-acting reversible contraceptives among female service members, future research should continue to investigate effects of all hormonal contraception methods available to service members. This work presents a comprehensive literature review and real-world survey analysis examining the intricate relationship between communal media and psychological concerns within human–computer interaction (HCI). By systematically categorizing research from 1995 to 2023, we observe a significant increase in studies, reflecting the growing recognition of communal media's impact on psychological well-being. Our review delves into various HCI aspects, including demographic effects, emotional sentiment analysis, online social networking, and communal media use intensity. A real-world survey focusing on TikTok users reveals diverse user perspectives on safety, privacy, and the platform's impact on creativity and mental health. The data highlights a demographic predominance of young adults aged 16–24, with creativity, leisure, and content discovery being primary engagement motivators. Positive impacts such as creative inspiration and distraction from worries are contrasted with concerns over privacy invasion, harm to underaged users, and addiction. Correlation analysis underscores the complex interplay between user experiences and perceptions. Future research should prioritize enhancing privacy and safety measures, educational campaigns, and in-depth studies on the long-term psychological impacts of TikTok usage. Additionally, exploring platform modifications and conducting longitudinal and cross-platform studies will help create a safer and more engaging social media environment. This work contributes significantly to the expanding HCI body of knowledge, providing a robust foundation for future research to inform policies and interventions promoting positive psychological outcomes in the digital age. This cross-national study investigated the mental health and wellbeing literacy of adults through a series of discrimination tasks which assessed their ability to correctly discriminate statements of mental health and wellbeing. A cross-national sample of 1044 adults aged 18 years and older were recruited through Qualtrics Panels. Participants resided in Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, South Africa and Malaysia. Quota sampling was undertaken within countries for sex and age-groups (18 to 39 years, 40 to 59 years, and 60 + years). Participants were assigned into one of two conditions in which mental health and wellbeing statements were either negatively or positively framed. In the first task, participants reported moderate levels of mental health and wellbeing literacy and there was consistency between nations in participants' discrimination of statements. In the second discrimination task, participants now classified most statements indicators as reflecting "both mental health and wellbeing". The findings suggest that while community members can mostly discriminate between statements of wellbeing and mental health, they will generally define these statements as reflecting dimensions of both mental health and wellbeing. For community members, it may be less important to discriminate between mental health and wellbeing but instead simply focus on overall psychological health which reflects both absence of pathology and presence of wellbeing. Introduction Material and Methods Results Conclusions Uterus transplant (UTx) has emerged as a groundbreaking solution for individuals with uterine factor infertility (UFI). This study is the first in Australia to explore the psychosocial functioning of potential recipients assessed for the nation's initial UTx clinical trial and to compare their psychological profiles with those from international UTx trials.This is a mixed methods prospective study incorporating standardized psychological measures and semi‐structured interviews. Conducted at a tertiary hospital in Sydney, Australia, the study involved 10 female Australian UTx potential recipients with UFI undergoing assessment for UTx surgery. Participants underwent comprehensive psychological evaluation using validated measures and in‐depth semi‐structured interviews. Quantitative measurement tools included the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Short Form‐36 Health Survey, Fertility Quality of Life, and the Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplantation. Thematic analysis was conducted on qualitative data from semi‐structured interviews.The Australian UTx potential recipients reported significantly higher Short Form‐36 (SF‐36) scores compared to the Australian general population in general health (p < 0.04), bodily pain (p < 0.02), social functioning (p < 0.02), and emotional well‐being (p < 0.01). Compared with international UTx cohorts, the Australian UTx group showed comparable SF‐36 outcomes, with minor variations observed for general health and physical function domains. Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale scores revealed lower anxiety, but slightly higher depression levels compared to international UTx trial cohorts. Fertility quality‐of‐life scores were significantly higher in the Australian UTx group compared to women experiencing primary infertility across four domains (p < 0.001). Thematic analysis of interviews highlighted the complex emotional impact of infertility, strong family and social support, and the perception of UTx as a transformative opportunity to achieve wholeness and motherhood.UTx represents a novel treatment option for women with UFI. This is the first qualitative study in Australia, it demonstrates the connection between women with UFI and their motivations for parenthood. These findings highlight the importance of tailored psychological assessments and establish a foundation for future research exploring the psychological characteristics of patient candidacy for UTxs. Background: Non-motor symptoms (NMS) such as impaired cognition, anxiety, and depression can have a strong adverse effect on the quality of life (QoL) of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. The clinical application of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) offers an opportunity to improve cognitive function, mental health, and overall QoL for these patients. Objective: CBT is frequently applied as a treatment option aimed at benefiting the mental health of PD patients, but the relative utility of CBT in this patient population has yet to be rigorously assessed. The present review was thus conducted with the goal of examining the relative safety and efficacy of CBT as a treatment option for PD patients suffering from cognitive impairment, anxiety, and depression, with a particular focus on the impact of CBT on PD patient QoL. Methods: The PubMed, Embase, Medline, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for all studies published from their inception to present using keywords including "cognitive behavioral therapy" and "Parkinson's disease". Two reviewers independently screened these published studies and extracted relevant data from studies that met with defined inclusion/exclusion criteria, in addition to assessing the risk of bias. Those randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the impact of CBT on older PD patients were eligible for study inclusion. In total, 22 articles incorporating 1,053 patients were included in this meta-analysis. Study quality was examined as per the Cochrane risk of bias framework. Heterogeneity and associated outcomes were assessed based on mean difference (MD), I2, and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) values. Results: In total, 22 RCTs were ultimately found to be eligible for inclusion in the present meta-analysis. The results of this meta-analysis indicated that CBT significantly impacted cognition as compared to other treatment options (including placebo treatment, clinical monitoring, clinic-based treatment, psychoeducation, physical activity training, health enhancement) (I2 = 49%, MD = 0.23, 95%CI: 0.03–0.44, P = 0.03). CBT was also associated with significant improvements in PD patient QoL (I2 = 0%, MD = 3.45, 95%CI: 1.13–5.57, P = 0.04), anxiety symptoms (I2 = 57%, MD = -2.01, 95%CI: -4.01–0.01, P = 0.05), and depression symptoms (I2 = 74%, MD = -3.94, 95%CI: -6.47 to -1.42, P = 0.04). Conclusions: These results reveal that CBT can have beneficial effects on PD patient cognitive status and QoL. Notably, CBT represents an effective option for treating NMS such as anxiety and depression in PD patients. These results offer strong evidence in favor of applying CBT as a means of enhancing the mental health, cognition, and QoL of individuals with PD. Simple Summary: Patient activation is a very important psychological construct to examine in individuals who have chronic conditions, because it assesses the one's confidence in managing their own health and care. For childhood cancer survivors, continued follow-up is imperative to monitor late effects conditions; yet many do not adhere to surveillance guidelines. Therefore, investigating this construct could highlight risk factors in the population that contribute to low activation. Furthermore, examining the long-term impact of patient activation on psychological health as well as its contribution to health behavior could provide a reasonable target for interventions to enhance health outcomes in survivors. Background: Patient activation describes a willingness to take action to manage health and is associated with health outcomes. The purpose of this study was to characterize patient activation and its association with psychological outcomes and health behaviors in childhood cancer survivors. Methods: Participants were from the St. Jude Lifetime Cohort Study (SJLIFE). Activation levels (1–4, 4 = highest activation) were measured with the Patient Activation Measure (PAM). Psychological outcomes and health behaviors were obtained via self-report. Cognitive function was assessed by trained examiners. ANOVA or chi-squared tests were utilized to assess group-level differences in activation. Multivariable regression models were used to assess associations between PAM scores and outcomes of interest. Results: Among 2708 survivors and 303 controls, more survivors endorsed lower activation levels than the controls (11.3 vs. 4.7% in level 1) and fewer survivors endorsed the highest level of activation than the controls (45.3 vs. 61.5% in level 4). Not endorsing depression (OR: 2.37, 95% CI 1.87–2.99), anxiety (OR: 2.21, 95% CI 1.73–2.83), and somatization symptoms (OR: 1.99, 95% CI 1.59–2.50), general fear (OR: 1.45, 95% CI 1.23–1.71) and body-focused (OR: 2.21, 95% CI 1.83–2.66), cancer-related worry, and physical (OR: 2.57, 95% CI 2.06–3.20) and mental (OR: 2.08, 95% CI 1.72–2.52) HRQOL was associated with higher levels of activation. Lower activation was associated with not meeting physical activity guidelines (OR: 2.07, 95% CI 1.53–2.80). Conclusions: Survivors endorsed lower activation levels than peers. The study aimed at identifying the quality level of psychological life among internally displaced people in Taiz Governorate, and the differences in quality of life based on variables such as gender, age, educational level, marital status, employment, and displacement location. The study sample consisted of 267 internally displaced people (male & female), selected randomly, assessed using a psychological life quality scale developed by this study. Utilizing descriptive methodology and statistical analysis, the results showed a high level of life quality among displaced people in Taiz Governorate. There were differences in life quality ascribed to educational level variable, with those having secondary and higher education showing higher averages compared to illiterate individuals. Regarding employment variable, differences were shown in favor of the employed category over the unemployed. Additionally, there were some differences regarding displacement location in favor of the displaced among their relatives. Plants enhance a space's aesthetics and benefit numerous human health and well-being. Indoor plants improve air quality around residential areas by reducing pollutants, increasing humidity levels, and regulating temperature. These plants also reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and boost work productivity. Hydroponics, a soilless technique for indoor gardening, can further enhance the transpiration and photosynthesis rates, improving air temperature and humidity. These plants serve as organic air filters that efficiently remove contaminants, including those that can spread viruses like SARS-CoV-2. The presence of indoor plants in indoor environments is linked to improved mental and physical health, making it cost-effective for improving indoor environmental quality. The present review discusses the benefits of incorporating indoor and gardening plants in available indoor or residential spaces, which have been discussed for human well-being and environmental sustainability using previous supporting studies. U.S. Air Force cyber personnel were faced with changes in their workplace, fitness routines, and personal lives during the COVID19 pandemic. Adjusting to COVID-19-related requirements likely increased the stress of already stressful jobs for military members and their families, which could have resounding impacts on emotional, social, and physical well-being. Therefore, it is important to evaluate psychological health outcomes and self-perceived impacts of the changes presented to cyber personnel because of the COVID-19 pandemic. An online occupational health assessment that included demographics, standardized measures of burnout, psychological distress, and work role strain; health behaviors; and perceived impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic was administered to 1488 cyber personnel. Thirty-two negative themes and 13 positive themes were created from qualitative coding for "How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted you as an individual?" Of the themes created, 966 (68.5%) reported at least one negative impact and 440 (31.2%) reported at least one positive impact. Top-reported negative impacts were limited face-to-face interactions and loss of personal activities. Negative impacts were associated with negative psychological health outcomes (e.g., psychological distress, exhaustion, cynicism) and work role strain. The COVID‐19 pandemic has thrust millions of workers into high‐intensity telecommuting. While much research has examined the first months of the pandemic, little is known about how workers have responded to this new work arrangement over time. The stressor‐reaction perspective suggests that any strain related to the physical separation from coworkers may persist as long as the stressor is present, while the adaptation perspective implies that individuals adopt new behaviours that help them adjust once the initial shock is over. This research examines the changes in work belongingness, meaningful work, and emotional exhaustion following a shift to high‐intensity telecommuting, between September 2020 and March 2021. We conducted a four‐wave study among an organizational sample of 716 workers who transitioned to high‐intensity telecommuting during the pandemic. Latent growth modelling analyses showed that new high‐intensity telecommuters experienced declines in work belongingness over time, which in turn led to decreased perceptions that their work was meaningful and increased emotional exhaustion, supporting the stress‐reaction perspective. Contrary to theoretical predictions, trajectories were worse for those with a higher initial affective commitment to coworkers. We discuss how our findings can inform scholars and practitioners about the unfolding consequences of a collective shift to high‐intensity telecommuting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify and assess the factors that influence the work performance of employees in the service sector of Mauritius during the post-COVID-19 period. Factors like emotional labour, burnout, job satisfaction and psychological health of employees have been identified as those potential factors influencing the work performance of employees. Design/methodology/approach: This study adopts the survey-based approach for data collection. Employees from the service sector were targeted, that is, those who have direct contact with the customers. A response rate of 197 was recorded. The partial least square structural equation modelling has been used to run the data analysis. Findings: Ten hypotheses were proposed, and four hypotheses were accepted. Job satisfaction appears to positively influence the work performance of employees in the service sector. Emotional labour, burnout and psychological health of employees appeared not to significantly affect the work performance of employees. Practical implications: From a practical perspective, the author recommends that employers need to provide more support in terms of employee counselling, more job rotation for the employees to avoid burnout. Other support mechanisms as a supportive supervisor/manager where the employees can voice their concerns. It is also recommended that employers should have a more humane way to handle their human resources despite they are having the pressure to maximise profits. Employers need to understand that commercialisation of emotions demand a lot of emotional pressure on the employees and job re-design might be a solution to provide employees with more autonomy in the workplace. The level of flexibility also needs to be reviewed and employees should be more trusted. Originality/value: This study acknowledges that a lot of research has been done in identifying and assessing factors that significantly impact employees' work performance. Nevertheless, this study brings together two theories, namely, the social exchange theory and the psychological contract theory to better understand the relationship between the variables. This study also brings a methodological contribution with second-order factor analysis of factors like emotional labour and burnout which enabled better assessment and understanding of the factors and their effect on work performance. Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, a fact that is commonly associated with co-morbidities such as clinical depression. While phase II cardiac rehabilitation is an established intervention for those with cardiovascular disease, its effect on patients who also suffer from depression are under studied. Aim: To quantify Pre- and Post-cardiac rehabilitation questionnaire scores collected from a large patient data registry. For this investigation, 27 670 patients completed Patient Health Questionnaire-9 questionnaires both Pre- and Post-rehabilitation (averaging [28.0 ± 8.7] phase II sessions). Findings reveal that questionnaire scores decreased by 40%-48% across all groups, a finding that was independent of assigned sex, race, and ethnicity. Moreover, when data were stratified for questionnaire scores that may indicate major and minor depressive disorder, phase II cardiac rehabilitation outcomes were lower by 61% and 49% respectively. While all groups exhibited lower questionnaire scores following cardiac rehabilitation participation, numerical differences at Pre- and Post-rehabilitation time points indicate that males and White patients have more favorable scores. This latter observation, while not confirmed currently, appears to be linked to referral rates to phase II cardiac rehabilitation, which remain poor for females, racial and ethnic minorities. Background: Loneliness, anxiety and depressive symptoms are common among older residents in long‐term care facilities (LTCFs), which can negatively impact their quality of life and increase mortality rates. Addressing these psychological health issues is an important task for nursing staff. There is a need for easy and accessible interventions to improve older residents' negative emotions. Tactile massage (TM) is a form of touch therapy that induces oxytocin, which can help individuals feel relaxed, experience pleasure and reduce anxiety. TM can also provide a sense of security and care for individuals. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of TM in improving older residents' psychological health in LTCFs. Design: In this study, we applied a two‐arm randomised controlled trial research design. Methods: We used convenience sampling to enrol 55 older residents in three long‐term care facilities who were randomly assigned to an intervention group and a comparison group. The intervention group received TM by research assistants on both hands for 15 min per time, twice a week for 4 weeks and the comparison group received regular care. Data were collected before and after the intervention. Generalised estimating equations (GEEs) were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. Results: There were no significant differences in loneliness, anxiety, depressive symptoms, happiness, ear temperature, heart rate or diastolic blood pressure between the two groups after the intervention. However, the intervention group had significant improvements in comfort (B = 0.86, p < 0.001), relaxation (B = 1.00, p < 0.001), respiratory rate (B = −0.16, p = 0.021) and systolic blood pressure (B = − 4.17, p = 0.002) compared to the control group. Conclusions: TM can help older residents who live in LTCFs feel relaxed and comfortable. Implications for Practice: TM can be easily implemented as it requires no tools. We recommend that nursing staff and healthcare professionals incorporate TM as part of their care routines. They also can encourage family members to perform TM on residents during their visits to enhance residents' comfort and relaxation. Abstract: The Emotion Beliefs Questionnaire (EBQ) assesses beliefs about the controllability and usefulness of positive and negative emotions. The aim of the present study was to establish the construct validity and reliability of the EBQ within the cultural and linguistic context of Norway. The Norwegian version of the EBQ (EBQ-N) was administered to a sample of university students (N = 380, 64.2% females, 93.7% aged 25 or younger). Confirmatory factor analyses indicated that the EBQ-N is best represented by three first-order factors and a higher-order general factor, consistent with the findings of the initial validation study. The items displayed both adequate convergence in assessing their intended constructs and effective discrimination among the three first-order factors. The scale components demonstrated acceptable to good internal consistency. In the context of its intrinsic properties, the EBQ-N appears to be a valid and reliable instrument for assessing emotion beliefs in Norwegian research and clinical settings.

With the advent of modern Medicine, the connections between emotions and medical conditions have primarily been described through observational studies, where conclusions are drawn from correlations of observations rather than experimental research. Psychoanalytical theory has often been used to explain many common illnesses. This approach remains prevalent today. Interestingly, despite the wealth of information now available on the influence of emotions on health, the current divide between neurology and psychiatry, as well as the separation between mental health services and primary care, combined with the time constraints and physicians’ workload, have led to a fragmented approach to many disorders. In these cases, psychological and emotional factors play an important role but are often inadequately addressed. The objective of this paper is to analyse the existing evidence on the relationship between anger and health through a narrative review. The evidence and data presented point to the need for analytical studies based on scientific methodology to explore the relationship between anger and health, and particularly to adopt an integral health approach taking into account social determinants and the role of empathy among the healthcare professionals and clinical and social care. The prevention and treatment of problems related to the high prevalence and intensity of anger are particularly relevant, given the potential negative impact this emotion can have on patients’ physical and mental health, as well as their social adjustment and relationships.

Abstract Background Non-motor symptoms (NMS) such as impaired cognition, anxiety, and depression can have a strong adverse effect on the quality of life (QoL) of Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients. The clinical application of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) offers an opportunity to improve cognitive function, mental health, and overall QoL for these patients. Objective CBT is frequently applied as a treatment option aimed at benefiting the mental health of PD patients, but the relative utility of CBT in this patient population has yet to be rigorously assessed. The present review was thus conducted with the goal of examining the relative safety and efficacy of CBT as a treatment option for PD patients suffering from cognitive impairment, anxiety, and depression, with a particular focus on the impact of CBT on PD patient QoL. Methods The PubMed, Embase, Medline, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for all studies published from their inception to present using keywords including “cognitive behavioral therapy” and “Parkinson’s disease”. Two reviewers independently screened these published studies and extracted relevant data from studies that met with defined inclusion/exclusion criteria, in addition to assessing the risk of bias. Those randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the impact of CBT on older PD patients were eligible for study inclusion. In total, 22 articles incorporating 1,053 patients were included in this meta-analysis. Study quality was examined as per the Cochrane risk of bias framework. Heterogeneity and associated outcomes were assessed based on mean difference (MD), I2, and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) values. Results In total, 22 RCTs were ultimately found to be eligible for inclusion in the present meta-analysis. The results of this meta-analysis indicated that CBT significantly impacted cognition as compared to other treatment options (including placebo treatment, clinical monitoring, clinic-based treatment, psychoeducation, physical activity training, health enhancement) (I2 = 49%, MD = 0.23, 95%CI: 0.03–0.44, P = 0.03). CBT was also associated with significant improvements in PD patient QoL (I2 = 0%, MD = 3.45, 95%CI: 1.13–5.57, P = 0.04), anxiety symptoms (I2 = 57%, MD = -2.01, 95%CI: -4.01–0.01, P = 0.05), and depression symptoms (I2 = 74%, MD = -3.94, 95%CI: -6.47 to -1.42, P = 0.04). Conclusions These results reveal that CBT can have beneficial effects on PD patient cognitive status and QoL. Notably, CBT represents an effective option for treating NMS such as anxiety and depression in PD patients. These results offer strong evidence in favor of applying CBT as a means of enhancing the mental health, cognition, and QoL of individuals with PD. However, additional high-quality large-scale studies will be essential to confirm and expand upon these results.

Cancer is a major traumatic event that causes serious interference in the pursuit of individual's life goals and leads to a variety of emotional disorders. Rational adjustment of life goals is beneficial to rebuild life direction, improve physical and mental health of patients. This paper reviews the current research of domestic and international studies on cancer affecting patients' pursuit of life goals, and summarizes the advances in the existing literature on the goal-adjustment behaviors of cancer patients and the effects on their physical and mental health by literature review. Literature review shows that the impact of cancer diagnosis on patients' pursuit of life goals is mainly manifested in the impact on self-efficacy, goal pursuit ability and goal prioritization. Reasonable goal-adjustment behaviors can help improve patients' physical and mental health, which includes promoting positive emotions, alleviating negative emotions, reducing physical discomfort, and improving quality of life. Therefore, future psychosocial intervention design for the emotional health of cancer patients can be based on guiding patients to replan and regulate their goals, so as to improve patients' emotional health and disease prognosis.

Abstract Psychological well-being influences all the facets of adolescent success. This study examined the psychometric properties of PERMA, a subjective well-being measure consisting of five domains: positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. The sample size consisted of 502 high school students from public schools in Qatar. Contrary to expectations, the five-factor structure for PERMA did not fit our data well; however, after refining the model by the errors of the covariances between items, the one-factor model was found to be applicable. Multivariate analysis revealed that socioeconomic status (SES) and level of academic performance were independently and positively associated with overall well-being scores, whereas internalizing and externalizing behaviors were negatively associated. Notably, no significant effects of gender or age on well-being were observed. These findings suggest that interventions specific to socioeconomic status, academic excellence, and internalizing and externalizing behaviors in the school setting can produce more effective outcomes concerning student well-being.

Objective To explore and analyze the effect of medical alliance health management model under the perspective of health ecology on mental health of patients with chronic heart failure. Methods Two communities under the jurisdiction of community health service centers in a grade A hospital in Nanjing were selected as the research communities and patients form two communities were randomly divided into the experimental group (n=115) and control group (n=103). The experimental group received medical alliance health management model under the perspective of health ecology; the control group was given routine health management education on chronic heart failure prevention and treatment. The intervention period was 12 months, and changes in patients’ levels of anxiety, depression and social support before and after the intervention were compared. Results At 12 months after intervention, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) scores were decreased in both experimental group and control group, and GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scores were lower in the experimental group than those in the control group(ITT vs. PP: -1. 07 vs. -1. 07; -0. 45 vs. -0. 49, P＜0. 05). The Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) score was increased in both experimental group and control group, and SSRS score was higher in the experimental group than that in the control group(ITT vs. PP: 9. 30 vs. 9. 17, P＜0. 05). The generalized linear mixed model showed that the interaction effect of anxiety and social support scores were significant in time and group (P＜0. 05). Conclusion The medical alliance health management model helps to improve the mental health needs and social support of patients with chronic heart failure. Children's independent mobility (CIM) represents their freedom to travel in their neighborhood without adult supervision. Secular declines in CIM coincided with a major increase in mental health problems among children. We investigated relationships between two indicators of CIM and parent-perceived child distress in a national longitudinal study involving 2,291 Canadian parents of 7- to 12-year-olds at baseline (December 2020) with up to four follow-ups, every six months. We assessed mobility licenses (i.e. children's permission to do certain activities on their own) with 6 items, and home range (i.e. how far [in minutes] children can roam with friends and/or siblings) with a 4-point item. We used generalized estimating equations controlling for children's age and gender, household income, study wave, school attendance, and COVID-19 isolation in the week preceding the survey. At each successive time point, 51.8%, 44.0%, 43.2% and 42.4% of children experienced clinically elevated distress. Compared to children allowed to roam <5 min, children allowed to roam 5–15 min (OR = 0.76; 95% CI: 0.67–0.88) or >15-minutes (OR = 0.61; 95% CI: 0.51–0.72) had lower odds of elevated distress. Summary Approximately 40% of Japanese physicians report working more than 960 hr of overtime annually, with 10% exceeding 1860 hr. To protect their health, annual overtime limits went into effect in 2024. The objective of this study was to investigate associations of self‐reported sleep duration with psychological health and objective alertness. This was a cross‐sectional National Survey for The Work Style Reform of Long Working Physicians. Physicians self‐reported daily sleep duration, burnout (Abbreviated Maslach Burnout Inventory), depression (Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale) and traffic accidents. Alertness was then evaluated using the brief Psychomotor Vigilance Test. Of 20,382 physicians invited, 1226 completed the survey and brief Psychomotor Vigilance Test. Daily sleep duration was inversely associated with weekly work hours (β = −5.4; 95% confidence interval −6.8 to −4.0, p < 0.0001). Sleep duration < 6 hr and ≥ 8 hr per day was associated with slower responses on the brief Psychomotor Vigilance Test (adjusted p < 0.05). An additional 10 hr worked per week was associated with a 0.40 point (95% confidence interval 0.08–0.72) increase in burnout severity and a 1.7% (95% confidence interval 0.1–3.3%) increase in odds of reporting a traffic accident. Increased brief Psychomotor Vigilance Test lapses, indicating lower alertness, were associated with worse symptoms of depression (β = 0.23 points; 95% confidence interval 0.14–0.31, p < 0.0001) and burnout (β = 0.25 points; 95% confidence interval 0.13–0.36, p < 0.0001). This study emphasizes the importance of sufficient sleep to maintain alertness, and supports limiting work hours for Japanese physicians to protect psychological health. Background Neuropsychiatric symptoms are common after traumatic brain injury (TBI) and often resolve within 3 months post-injury. However, the degree to which individual patients follow this course is unknown. We characterized trajectories of neuropsychiatric symptoms over 12 months post-TBI. We hypothesized that a substantial proportion of individuals would display trajectories distinct from the group-average course, with some exhibiting less favorable courses. Methods Participants were level 1 trauma center patients with TBI (n = 1943), orthopedic trauma controls (n = 257), and non-injured friend controls (n = 300). Trajectories of six symptom dimensions (Depression, Anxiety, Fear, Sleep, Physical, and Pain) were identified using growth mixture modeling from 2 weeks to 12 months post-injury. Results Depression, Anxiety, Fear, and Physical symptoms displayed three trajectories: Stable-Low (86.2–88.6%), Worsening (5.6–10.9%), and Improving (2.6–6.4%). Among symptomatic trajectories (Worsening, Improving), lower-severity TBI was associated with higher prevalence of elevated symptoms at 2 weeks that steadily resolved over 12 months compared to all other groups, whereas higher-severity TBI was associated with higher prevalence of symptoms that gradually worsened from 3–12 months. Sleep and Pain displayed more variable recovery courses, and the most common trajectory entailed an average level of problems that remained stable over time (Stable-Average; 46.7–82.6%). Symptomatic Sleep and Pain trajectories (Stable-Average, Improving) were more common in traumatically injured groups. Conclusions Findings illustrate the nature and rates of distinct neuropsychiatric symptom trajectories and their relationship to traumatic injuries. This study examines the effects of various factors, including socioeconomic status, built environment, access to healthcare, educational level, social participation, and economic stability, on older adults' psychological health. The current study analyzed a nationally representative sub-sample of 2,577 respondents aged 50 and above from the World Health Organization's Study on Global AGEing and Adult Health (WHO SAGE) Wave 2. WHO SAGE Wave 2 is cross-sectional data collected via in-person structured interviews. Ordinal least square (OLS) was used to measure the average effect of social determinants of health (SDoH), and quantile regression analysis was used to determine the effects of SDoH on older adults' psychological health at different quantiles, specifically 10th, 50th, and 90th percentiles. Significant determinants of psychological health across all quantiles included age, healthcare access, marital status, economic stability, and neighborhood and built environment. However, the degrees of significance for residence, gender, educational level, chronic diseases, and social participation varied between quantiles, showing differing effects on older adults with high or low psychological health. Religion was insignificant across all quantiles. This study highlights the need for governments and public health agencies to develop targeted interventions and strategies that support the psychological well-being of older adults in the country. In Singapore, preschool children with developmental disabilities receive developmental interventions by multidisciplinary teams of providers across various settings. Cessation of in-person sessions during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated providers to pivot rapidly and use virtual platforms to continue delivering interventions. This cross-sectional study assessed the effects of this challenging experience on providers' psychological wellbeing, including resilience, depression, stress, and anxiety. Ninety-five providers anonymously completed (i) an online questionnaire which included questions on their perceptions of the provision of virtual services and stress; (ii) the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC); and (iii) the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS). Among participants who used virtual platforms to continue providing interventions, 83.3% reported difficulties during sessions. Over half (57.9%; n = 55) reported increased stress compared to pre-COVID-19. The mean CD-RISC score (62.7; range: 36–88) was lower than that of general population samples, indicating reduced resilience. Lack of flexibility to work from home, difficulties providing interventions online, higher self-reported stress, and a non-hospital setting were significantly associated with lower resilience. Prevalence rates of depression, anxiety, and stress were 13.7% (n = 13), 42.1% (n = 40), and 56.8% (n = 54), respectively, with school-based settings significantly associated with a positive screen for depression. The results reveal the often-invisible psychological ill-effects in providers of children with developmental disabilities and underscore the need for targeted support to improve their resilience and overall mental wellbeing so that they can continue to effectively provide the crucial interventions needed by the children under their care. Evidence of vicarious exposure to racism has primarily been garnered from in-group racial-ethnic samples to convey its harmful psychological impacts on individuals who share identities with those who are directly experiencing the racist act being observed. The extent to which this evidence applies to out-group members exposed to vicarious racism is underexamined. The present study investigated the extent to which vicarious exposure to racialized violence in policing leading to the death of George Floyd predicted negative affect among a sample of undergraduate students when accounting for other factors that may contribute to negative affect. A sample (N = 683) of nonhomogeneous racial-ethnic (67% People of Color; 33% White) undergraduate students aged 18 to 41 completed an online survey assessing demographic characteristics, vicarious racism exposure, everyday discrimination exposure, and affect during the summer and fall of 2020. Bivariate analyses indicated racial-ethnic disparities in negative affect among the sample. After controlling for race-ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, and everyday discrimination, a hierarchical linear regression analysis indicated that exposure to vicarious racialized violence in policing significantly predicted increased levels of negative affect. These findings provide vital insight into the harmful psychological impacts of vicarious exposure to racialized violence on individuals in the U.S. which has individual, population, and public health implications. Workplaces cause employees to adopt sedentary behaviors for most of their daytime, negatively impacting psychophysical health. A new office concept (UP150) was designed to reduce sedentary behaviors at work through architectural changes, proactive technologies, and wellness coaches (education to active lifestyles). The present study examined the effects of the UP150 concept, previously investigated in dedicated workspaces, with a 12-month longitudinal trial in a real worksite environment. Forty-eight desk workers comprised the experimental (EG) and control (CG) groups. All participants worked in the same working environment, having the UP150 features inserted in a usual working environment, but the CG was not allowed to interact with the UP150 specifics. During the experimental year, physical (physical activity, motor efficiency, and anthropometric features), clinical (metabolic parameters and cognitive-capacity-related parameters), and psychological (well-being and discomfort, job social and psychological perceptions, and perceived workload) features were assessed. The prolonged application of the UP150 procedure in a mixed working context for involvement in corporate policies positively affected EG workers' physical (physical activity and motor efficiency increased, and body fat unchanged), clinical (blood glucose, insulin, and total cholesterol decreased; HDL increased), and psychological (well-being and social support raised; job demand and perceived workload lowered) parameters, confirming the previous studies. The present study examined the associations of transformational leadership behaviors and team cohesion with the psychological health (life satisfaction, positive and negative affect, and burnout) of athletes and the indirect relationship of basic psychological needs. The sample consisted of 252 (boys) players aged between 13 and 15. The model data fit was also verified. The results demonstrated that the transformational leadership behaviors of coaches were indirectly related to athletes' psychological health. Team cohesion was related to athletes' psychological health both directly and indirectly. Basic psychological needs played an indirect role in these relationships. Utilizing a national individual‐level medical dataset and the home bias phenomenon in investment, our study shows a strong and robust link between declines in local stock returns and increased antidepressant consumption among investors. This effect intensifies in areas with higher per capita dividend income, suggesting a direct relationship between higher stock ownership and stronger responses. We confirm that portfolio losses, not local economic conditions, are responsible for increased antidepressant usage during market downturns. Using the frequency of psychotherapy sessions yields similar findings. This systematic review assesses the relationship between climate induced coastal hazards and psychological well-being of communities in the Asia-Pacific region. The review synthesises findings from 13 peer-reviewed articles published between 2007 and 2020, encompassing data from seven countries: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and Vietnam. Results reveals a robust negative association between exposure to coastal hazards and psychological outcomes, notably stress, depression, anxiety, and distress. Most of the studies (77%) corroborate negative impacts of coastal hazards on psychological health. Additionally, 69% of the reviewed articles suggest a correlation between coastal hazards and negative outcomes for community livelihoods and essential resources. The review highlights increased psychological vulnerability among marginalised subpopulations, such as economically disadvantaged communities, a trend supported by 92% of the examined articles. The findings indicates that factors such as environmental vulnerability, resource availability, community traits, and coping methods are important in determining whether a community can effectively handle coastal hazards or face increased psychological health risks. This research aligns with international health frameworks, including the World Health Organization’s Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management guidelines. However, a notable research gap emerges – the absence of studies that specifically explore psychological responses of communities to ongoing climate-related coastal hazards, such as sea-level rise. These findings emphasise an urgent need for targeted research to guide comprehensive, multidisciplinary policy interventions aimed at mitigating the psychological and socio-economic repercussions of climate-related coastal hazards. Emotional intimacy is considered a fundamental factor contributing to the quality of marital relationships. However, marital strain can often limit intimacy. Thus, our first objective was to explore the intricate interplay between spouses' sense of intimacy and the levels of marital strain experienced by both themselves and their partners. In addition, the way partners respond to the challenges posed by marital strain can be pivotal in shaping the overall dynamics. Therefore, our second objective was to investigate whether and how the empathy exhibited by partners can protect the couple from the potential adverse effects of marital strain on emotional intimacy within the relationship. 96 midlife and older heterosexual couples reported on their sense of marital strain, emotional intimacy, and their level of empathy. We used Actor‐Partner Interdependence Model (APIM) to analyze the results. Negative associations were found between marital strain and emotional intimacy for both men and women. Men's empathy moderated the relationship between women's strain and intimacy, but women's empathy did not moderate the association between men's strain and intimacy. Assessing both spouses' strain is essential for understanding marital intimacy. Men's empathy can have a meaningful role in mitigating the experienced strain on marital outcomes. The literature on school bullying and perceived social support primarily relies on variable-centered approaches, investigating the independent effects of individual sources of social support. However, victims of school bullying perceive different combinations of levels of social support from multiple sources. Hence, there lacks a holistic person-centered examination of the joint effects of multiple sources of social support. The study surveyed 915 bullying victims (51.9% boys, 48.1% girls; Mage = 13.52, SD = 0.75). Latent profile analysis identified five profiles of social support across five sources (i.e., parents, teachers, classmates, close friends, and online-only friends): online-offline supported adolescents, offline supported adolescents, moderately supported adolescents, close friend supported adolescents, and unsupported. The five social support profiles were associated differently with bullying victims' demographic characteristics (i.e., age, gender, and socioeconomic status), frequency of victimization, psychological health (i.e., subjective well-being, depression, and anxiety), and prosocial behavior. The findings support the heterogenous nature of social support perceived by bullying victims and offer insights into more tailored interventions aimed at promoting the development victims in different subgroups. Background: Patients receiving palliative care often face psychological distress, which can be challenging for clinicians to manage. Therefore, reflexive and visual journaling can be used as powerful techniques for clinician selfreflection and personal development. These journals are a form of practice wisdom, providing insights into psychological health in palliative care. Aim: This study aims to describe how patients receiving palliative care experience psychological health, explore the meaning of a palliative care clinician's work and contribute to the understanding of psychological health in palliative care through the reflexive and visual journals of clinicians. Design: Using Gibb's reflective cycle as a framework for journaling, this study employs reflexive and visual journaling through the lenses of a psychiatrist and an art therapist. Journal data were analysed using a thematic analysis approach. Setting/participants: The two first authors journaled 107 clinical encounters and created 36 pieces of response art detailing encounters with patients and their families, and clinical conversations in two palliative care centres. Results: Patient attributes and the clinical environment were observed to influence psychological health in palliative care. The patient's ability to navigate dying, maintain personhood, exert resilience and experience satisfying relationships contribute to psychological health. A clinical environment comprising clinicians with holistic competencies, systems promoting interdisciplinary collaborations and a values-based culture that promotes patient centricity strengthens the delivery of psychological care. Conclusions: Good psychological health in palliative care extends beyond psychopathology and is influenced by the cardinal elements of being human, value systems and systemic elements in the therapeutic environment. This paper presents an integrated model of household behavior, in which households derive utility not only from flow choices (of goods and leisure activities) but also from stock variables representing the status in health, psychological stress, social standing/reputation, political affiliation, religious identity, and any other status deemed relevant for their well-being. To attain the status in any of these dimensions, proper investment is necessary in accordance with a suitable mediating function that connects flow choices to the status in question. We depart from the position that statuses activate motivation, thereby affecting the efficiency of activities including working time. In particular, health not only yields utility of its own kind but also affects the productivity of households, thereby expanding their budget sets and raising the utility they attain now and in the future. Health, however, must be attained and maintained, and this has to be accomplished in accordance with a plausible health-production function defined on the space of goods and leisure activities. The same can be said about knowledge and skill acquisition, which requires investment of certain activities and goods through an appropriate mediating function. Similar relationships also hold for social, psychological, and other statuses, which can only be acquired through proper mediating functions. While the utility calculus appears complex, we demonstrate that the optimum choice of goods and leisure activities is guided by the rationality principle that requires that the composite marginal utility, defined as the total of all marginal utilities from the entire sources of utility, direct or mediated, be balanced with properly measured cost of acquiring it, which is shown to equal, the price or the wage rate on the market adjusted for a change in the efficiency of working time mediated through health enhancement and/or an increase in the productive efficiency of working hours due to knowledge and technology acquisition. Because our model includes utility arising from status-orientation in multiple dimensions, and because the extent and the range of such utility are socio-cultural-regime-specific while also being shaped by the household-specific receptivity and orientation to this regime, our model can potentially explain a diverse range of choice behavior some of which appear anomalous or even counter-intuitive to the rationality principle in the traditional sense. A considerable amount of evidence suggests that marriage, as opposed to other relationship types, confers more health benefits and is widely seen as the ultimate elixir of life. However, with the growing prevalence of new marital arrangements emerging every day, it becomes imperative to map the moderative effect of these arrangements on the psychological health of individuals. This study aimed to investigate the psychological health of couples and their adolescents. Using the snowball sampling technique, a sample of Living Apart Together couples (LATC; n1=75), Proximal couples (PC; n2=75), and adolescents (n3=75) was identified from the district of Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Responses were recorded using the Anxiety, Depression, Stress Scale by Bhatnagar et al. (2011). Results revealed that Living apart together couples exhibit higher stress and anxiety than their counterparts. It was noted that there were no discernible differences in the psychological well-being of adolescents from Living Apart Together Couple (LATC) families and those from Proximal Couple (PC) families. The results underscore that the higher stress and anxiety levels observed in LAT couples may stem from the unique challenges associated with maintaining intimacy and communication while living apart, highlighting the need for tailored support and interventions for couples navigating such arrangements. Furthermore, the lack of significant differences in psychological health between adolescents from LAT and PC families raises intriguing questions about the resilience and adaptability of adolescents within varying family structures. We argue that the collective view of different capitals with self-notion is essential for establishing impression, image, and self-esteem. According to the review findings, religious capital could predict context-specific psychological, cultural, social, emotional, and organizational capital. This acknowledgment can assist academics in better understanding how religion, social psychology, and other capitals co-create value in human capital development. Introduction: The aim of this study was to explore how resilience is manifested in the experiences of emerging adults who were subjected to bullying victimization in school and have high levels of psychological functioning in emerging adulthood. Methods: Fifteen Swedish emerging adults (Mage = 29.13, SD = 0.52) who, despite experiences of bullying victimization at age 10, had high levels of psychological functioning as emerging adults were interviewed. The interviews focused on experiences of bullying victimization and the long‐term outcomes of these experiences. Qualitative methods were used in the analysis, with a specific focus on resilience. Results/Conclusion: The findings illustrate how long‐term outcomes of bullying victimization in school, in relation to resilience, comprise a dynamic process between personal agency and social resources in the environmental context.
