The paper describes the results of adhesion strength of the hydroxyapatite (HA) thin coating depositedon AZ91 magnesium alloy prepared by radio frequency (RF)-magnetron sputtering. It was found that the HA coating has a proper adhesion to the substrate and is destroyed by cohesive mechanism.

The uncoated and hydroxyapatite (HA) coated samples of AZ31 magnesium alloy were immersed insimulated body fluid (SBF) for 7 days. The HA coating was deposited by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering.The structure, chemical composition, morphology of samples were carried out by Fourier transform infraredspectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The investigation showed that corrosion rate of the HA coated AZ31 magnesium alloy decreased compared with the bare alloy.

In this study, we present the results of investigation of the 3-D scaffolds with different structures, whichwere fabricated using pure polymer poly(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and polymercompositions with the addition of silicon-containing hydroxyapatite (Si-HA) particles. Cross-linked and wellalignedscaffolds were formed via electrospinning process and were investigated by scanning electronmicroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction.

The physical and chemical properties as topography, morphology, chemical composition and wettability of microarc calcium phosphate coatings based on Zn- and Cu- substituted hydroxyapatite on the Ti-40mas.%Nb alloy surface has been investigated. It have been found that calcium phosphate coatings on Ti-40mas.%Nb alloy produced under 200 V have X-ray amorphous state and as consequence high rate of dissolution. The phase composition of the coatings produced under 300 V is presented the following phases: CaHPO4,beta-Ca[2]P[2]O[7], Ca[2]Nb[2]O[7], NbO[2], Nb[2]O[5], TiO[2]. It has been shown that the biocoatings are very hydrophilic.
