Abstract: Experimental data on ground– and excited–state properties for all known nuclei with mass number have been compiled and evaluated. States populated in radioactive decay, as well as in nuclear reactions, have been considered. For these nuclei, level and decay schemes, as well as tables of nuclear properties, are given in detail. Abstract: The experimental results from the various reaction and radioactive decay studies leading to nuclides in the A=88 mass chain have been reviewed. Nuclides ranging from Ge (Z=32) to Ru (Z=44) are included. For these nuclei, level and decay schemes, as well as tables of nuclear properties, are given. Abstract: Detailed level schemes, decay schemes, and the experimental data on which they are based are presented for all nuclei with mass number A=152. The experimental data are evaluated; inconsistencies and discrepancies are noted; and adopted values for level and γ–ray energies, γ intensities, as well as for other nuclear properties are given. This evaluation replaces the A=152 evaluation published by Agda Artna–Cohen in Nuclear Data Sheets 79, 1 (1996) and the evaluation for 152Dy prepared by Balraj Singh and published in Nuclear Data Sheets 95, 995 (2002). Abstract: This evaluation for A = 114 updates one by J. Blachot (2002Bl20), published in Nuclear Data Sheets 97, 593 (2002). Previous: 1995Bl09, 1990Bl05, 1982Bl18. Decay scheme of Tc-114 to Ru-114 seems incomplete. The decay scheme of 6.2-s isomer in I-114 seems very poorly known, and for the 2.1-s activity not well known either. Abstract: Evaluated nuclear structure and decay data for all nuclei within the A = 204 mass chain are presented. The experimental data are evaluated and best values for level and gamma-ray energies, quantum numbers, lifetimes, gamma-ray intensities, and other nuclear properties are recommended. Inconsistencies and discrepancies that exist in the literature are noted. This work supersedes the earlier evaluation by M.R. Schmorak (1994Sc24), published in Nuclear Data Sheets 72, 409 (1994). Abstract: In this article, we study the initial value problem associated with a five-parameter Boussinesq-type system. We prove local existence and uniqueness of the solution and that the supremum norm of the solution decays algebraically to zero as when t approaches to infinity, provided the initial data are sufficiently small and regular. We further present a high-accurate spectral numerical method to approximate the solutions and validate the theoretical results. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: A new non-iterative curve resolution technique for resolving single decay profiles is proposed. The new technique, called DoubleSlicing, is based on the Decra (Direct Exponential Curve Resolution Algorithm) principle. While the original Decra was designed to resolve several decay curves simultaneously and thus fitting common pure exponentials, DoubleSlicing can resolve single decay profiles by a simple double data transformation followed by an analytical and unique three-way decomposition. The new approach is successfully demonstrated on experimental NMR CPMG relaxation data, measured on combinations of unmixed paramagnetic CuSO4 solutions. Decay signals of the water component were acquired following an innovative experimental design that ensured no interaction between the components present in each sample under observation. DoubleSlicing proved to be accurate in estimating relaxation times differing in one order of magnitude (range: 19.6–159.4ms). Its performance was comparable to discrete exponential fitting with the advantage of being much faster – in terms of computation time, DoubleSlicing outperformed exponential fitting by a factor of four. Abstract: Nuclear spectroscopic information for known nuclides of mass number 199 (Os,Ir,Pt,Au,Hg,Tl,Pb,Bi,Po,At,Rn,Fr) with Z = 76 to 87 and N = 123 to 112 have been evaluated and presented together with adopted energies and Jπ of levels in these nuclei. No excited state data are available for 199Os and 199Fr, and very little information is available for levels in 199Ir, 199Rn and 199At. The decay of 199Ir to 199Pt has not been studied. The decay of the 90-min activity of 199Pb to 199Tl is known in detail but remains unpublished in the open literature, while the decay of the 12.2-min isomer remains mostly unknown. The decays of the two activities of 199Tl to 199Pb are not known as separate decay scheme for each of the activities, thus only a composite decay scheme is presented. Similar is the case for the decay of the two activities of 199Po to 199Bi. In (3He,d) and (α,t) studies for 199Au, disagreements are found between two independent contemporary studies. The most detailed structure known is for 199Pb with five magnetic-rotational (MR) dipole bands together with many other dipole bands which are of probable multi-quasiparticle nature. This work supersedes previous evaluations of A = 199 published in update mode by 1994Ar13; as full A-chain updates by 1988Sc02, 1978Ha12 and 1971Le37; and a mid-stream update of 199Pb nuclide by 2001Si44. Abstract: This evaluation of A = 23 has been updated from previous evaluations published in 1998En04, 1990En08, and 1978En02. Coverage includes properties of adopted levels and γ rays, decay-scheme data (energies, intensities and placement of radiations), and cross reference entries. The following tables continue the tradition of showing the systematic relationships between levels in A = 23. These assignments are based on spectroscopic factors and energy differences where . Abstract: The importance of measuring the decays of the ψ″= ψ (3770) resonance is discussed. These decays can shed light on a possible discrepancy between the total and cross-sections at the ψ″, and on a proposed mechanism for enhancement of penguin amplitudes in B meson decays through charm–anticharm annihilation. Measurements (including the ψ″ line shape) in states of definite G-parity and in inclusive charmless final states such as η′+ X are found to be particularly important. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: This work represents an update of the previous evaluation of the nuclear data on the A = 155 nuclides (Nucl. Data Sheets 71 (1994) 709). The experimental data from reaction and decay studies leading to these nuclides have been reviewed. The elements included range from Ce (Z = 58) through Ta (Z = 73). These data are summarized and presented, together with the adopted level schemes and properties. We have developed a new method based on matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS) for analysis of zidovudine-triphosphate and (deoxy)nucleotide-triphosphates, which ultimately can be used for nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) treatment monitoring in HIV-1 infected children and adults. Four different matrices were compared for sensitivity and reproducibility of zidovudine-triphosphate detection and anthranilic acid mixed with nicotinic acid (AA/NA) was selected as most suitable matrix. Solutions of zidovudine-triphosphate, ATP, and dGTP were detected up to 0.5 fmol per sample. Furthermore, intracellular zidovudine-triphosphate, ATP, and dGTP were detected in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Zidovudine-triphosphate, ATP, and dGTP yield identical mass spectra, however MALDI-TOF post-source decay analysis can be used for discrimination between these compounds. We conclude that this method based on MALDI-TOF MS can be used for analysis of intracellular zidovudine-triphosphate and (deoxy)nucleotide-triphosphates in PBMCs. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Detailed level and decay schemes, along with the experimental reaction and decay data on which they are based, are presented for nuclei with mass number A=238. Based on evaluation of all available data, adopted values for level properties and for energies and intensities of α and γ radiations are given. In this paper, a low numerical complexity method for parameter estimation of damped exponential signals is proposed. It allows one to handle with free induction decay (FID) signals of “high complexity” containing hundreds of resonances and composed of more than 100,000 samples. At first, it is recalled that the model of a FID is a particular autoregressive moving-average (ARMA) process in which the AR part contains all useful spectral information. Then the AR parameters may be estimated, by solving the high-order Yule–Walker (HOYW) equations using a singular-value decomposition procedure. To deal with high complexity signals, a subband decomposition scheme is proposed. The filtering operation involved by the decomposition produces colored noise that makes the ARMA modeling approach even more essential. Using three real-world 13C NMR signals, the results achieved by the subband ARMA approach are compared with those obtained using the Fourier transform and a deconvolution algorithm. The equation of motion dM/dt=γ M×B(t) is solved for the case B(t)=jBp(t)+kBe. The field Be is a small static field, typically the earth’s field. The field Bp(t) decays exponentially toward zero with time constant T. This decay is produced by an overdamped switching transient that occurs near the end of the rapid cutoff of the coil current used to polarize the sample. It is assumed that Bp is initially large compared to Be, and that magnetization M is initially along the resultant field B. Exact solutions are obtained numerically for several decay time constants of Bp, and the motion of M is depicted graphically. It is found that for adiabatic passage, the final cone angle β of the precession in field Be is related to the decay time constant of Bp by β=2e−(π/2)ωeT. This is confirmed by measurements of the amplitudes of the ensuing free-precession signals for various decay rates of Bp. Near-perfect adiabatic passage (magnetization aligned within 2° of the earth’s field) can be achieved for time constants T⩾2.6/ωe. For the case of sudden passage, an approximate analytic solution is developed by linearizing the equation of motion in the laboratory frame of reference. For the adiabatic case, an approximate analytic solution is obtained by linearizing the equation of motion in a rotating frame of reference that follows the resultant field B=Bp+Be.
