The egg white@zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@polyacrylic acid (EW@ZIF-8@PAA) aerogel was prepared by using in-situ polymerization of acrylic acid and freezing and freeze drying, with egg white and ZIF-8 as raw materials and 1, 4-butanediol as crosslinking agent. The aerogel possess irregular porous structure and exhibits good stability in water. The aerogel applied in the adsorption of organic dyes shows the adsorption for malachite green (MG), crystal violet (CV), methyl orange (MO) and rhodamine B (RB), which has excellent adsorption capacity for malachite green, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 2764.9 mg/g. The kinetic data of four dyes all conform to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorbent still has a certain activity after five adsorption-desorption cycles. The egg white@zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@polyacrylic acid (EW@ZIF-8@PAA) aerogel was first synthesized by in-situ polymerization of acrylic acid with egg white and ZIF-8 as raw materials and 1, 4-butanediol as crosslinking agent. The aerogel have showed excellent adsorption capacity for malachite green, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 2764.9 mg/g. Image 1 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
