The construction of C–C bonds and degradation of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) are two central organic conversions for future sustainable development. Herein, two remarkable silver-containing polyoxomolybdates-based hybrids (Ag-POMos), [Ag(L)(H 2 O) 2 ] 2 [HPMo 12 O 40 ] (1) and [Ag 2 (L) 2 ] 2 [HPMo 10 V 2 O 40 ]·4DMSO (2) (L ​= ​4,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-2-aminopyrimidine) were designed and prepared by using silver cation, polyoxomolybdates and multiple N-donors ligand (L). The structure of compound 1 is constructed from an independent Ag center and a keggin-type POMs; compound 2 is composed of two independent Ag centers and a keggin-type POMs, which displays intriguing POM-incorporated 1-D chain structure with hydrogen bonding. Additionally, Ag-POMos catalysts can be severed as the efficient bifunctional catalysts for the three-component Mannich reaction to achieve the construction of C–C bonds and decontamination of sulfur mustard 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide (CEES). As bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst, particularly compound 2 , exhibits satisfying catalytic performances in the Mannich reaction (conv. 99%; sele. 99%) and the oxidation of CEES (conv. 96%; sele. 96%). Notedly, after three runs, compound 2 maintains excellent catalytic properties, demonstrating its remarkable cycling stability. 1. This paper presents a novel coordinated path following system (PFS) and direct yaw-moment control (DYC) of autonomous electric vehicles via hierarchical control technique. In the high-level control law design, a new fuzzy factor is introduced based on the magnitude of longitudinal velocity of vehicle, a linear time varying (LTV)-based model predictive controller (MPC) is proposed to acquire the wheel steering angle and external yaw moment. Then, a pseudo inverse (PI) low-level control allocation law is designed to realize the tracking of desired external moment torque and management of the redundant tire actuators. Furthermore, the vehicle sideslip angle is estimated by the data fusion of low-cost GPS and INS, which can be obtained by the integral of modified INS signals with GPS signals as initial value. Abstract: Cell-based therapies offer considerable promise for prevention or cure of diabetes. We explored the potential of autologous, self-renewing, mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) as a clinically-applicable approach to promote glucose homeostasis. In vitro-expanded syngeneic bone marrow-derived MSC were administered following or prior to diabetes induction into a rat model of streptozotocin-induced beta cell injury. MSC were CD45−/CD44+/CD54+/CD90+/CD106+. MSC spontaneously secreted IL-6, HGF, TGF-β1 and expressed high levels of SDF-1 and low levels of VEGF, IL-1β and PGE2, but no EGF, insulin or glucagon. MSC homed to the pancreas and this therapy allowed for enhanced insulin secretion and sustained normoglycemia. Interestingly, immunohistochemistry demonstrated that, the islets from MSC-treated rats expressed high levels of PDX-1 and that these cells were also positive for insulin staining. In addition, peripheral T cells from MSC-treated rats exhibited a shift toward IL-10/IL-13 production and higher frequencies of CD4+/CD8+ Foxp3+ T cells compared to the PBS-treated rats. These data suggest that the bioactive factors secreted by MSC establish a tissue microenvironment that supports beta cell activation/survival in the pancreas. In addition, because of anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory effects of MSC on T cells, this work can lead to clinical trial of autologous MSC to prevent/cure type-1 diabetes.
