Text-based chatbots are widely used to deliver personalized services by leveraging user-provided information, and anthropomorphic design is crucial for their effectiveness. However, most earlier studies investigated the effects of anthropomorphic design of chatbots while manipulating only one dimension of anthropomorphic cues. The current research investigated how different dimensions of anthropomorphic design cues affect users' information disclosure tendency towards chatbots. That is, the present study examined the effects of visual appearance (high anthropomorphism vs. low anthropomorphism), manipulating the visual cues dimension, and conversational style (human-like vs. mechanical), manipulating the verbal cues dimension, on users' information disclosure tendency towards chatbots. Results showed positive effects of human-like conversational style on users' information disclosure tendency. Of particular significance, an interaction effect between visual appearance and conversational style on users' information disclosure tendency was found. Users reported a higher information disclosure tendency when the chatbot was designed with anthropomorphic cues consistent over dimensions. This finding suggested that an expectancy violation effect occurs when a chatbot exhibits inconsistent anthropomorphic design cues on two different dimensions. Besides, perceived security was identified as a positive mediating factor in the relationship between conversational style and users' information disclosure tendency. This study advances research on users' information disclosure tendency towards anthropomorphic chatbots and highlights the importance of different dimensions of anthropomorphic cues in chatbot design. The Hippo signaling pathway governs organ size via coordinating cell proliferation and apoptosis, and its dysregulation causes congenital diseases and cancers. The homeostasis of Hippo pathway is achieved through multiple post translational modifications. Through Drosophila genetic screening, we found that miRNAs were also involved in Hippo pathway regulation. Here, we showed that overexpression of miR-7 resulted in small wings, which were neutralized by miR-7-sponge (miR-7-sp) co-expression. Mechanistically, miR-7 inhibited the expression of Hippo pathway target genes. Epistatic analyses revealed that miR-7 modulated Hippo pathway through the transcriptional cofactor Yorkie (Yki). Consistently, overexpression of miR-7 decreased Yki protein. We further found a seed sequence of miR-7 in the yki 3′-UTR region. In addition, we discovered that miR-7 was a transcriptional target of Yki. Thus, a negative feedback loop existed for fine tuning Hippo pathway activity. Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a major concern with high morbidity and mortality worldwide. Despite the positive influence of chemotherapy on the decline in CRC mortality, the negative influence of chemotherapy-related adverse effects (CRAEs) caused by capecitabine (Cap) remains a challenging problem. DNA methylation alteration plays a pivotal role in gene expression regulation. Here, we aimed to screen reliable and novel biomarkers for CRC diagnosis and CRAE prediction using the advanced Illumina Infinium MethylationEPIC (850 K) BeadChip. Paired tumor and normal tissues from 21 Chinese CRC patients who received Cap-based adjuvant chemotherapy were analyzed. CRC-related methylation was characterized by hypermethylated promoter islands and hypomethylated intragenic openseas; CRAE-related methylation was characterized by hyper- (or hypo-) methylated intragenic (or intergenic) regions. Based on three types of methylation profiles (differentially methylated probes, differentially methylated regions, and gene-function-differentially methylated regions), pathway enrichment analyses revealed that CRC-related genes were significantly enriched in the neuronal system, metabolism of RNA, and extracellular matrix organization; CRAE-related genes were abundantly enriched in pathways controlling regeneration functions and immune response. Finally, based on genes within the mostly related pathways and LASSO logistic regression selection, the integrated-methylation-marker systems developed here demonstrated high discriminative accuracy in both CRC diagnosis (AUROC = 1) and CRAE prediction (AUROC = 0.817–1). In conclusion, we conducted a comprehensive DNA methylation analysis of CRC patients with chemotherapy, which provided new insights into the formation of CRC and CRAEs. Most importantly, our findings identified potentially CRAE-related metabolic pathways and markers, providing a valuable reference for personalized medicine promising better safety. Disposal and recycling of heavy metal-enriched biomass is the key to measure the success of phytoremediation. This study employed innovative approach to use Aspergillus niger (A. niger) for the treatment of Cd-contaminated Helianthus annuus L. (sunflower) stalk after phytoremediation. Single-factor results showed that the removal of Cd at an initial pH of 3 was superior to sucrose and inoculation amount. 67.67% of Cd was removed by A. niger leaching system after 11 days based on response surface methodology optimum conditions (sucrose: 76.266 g L−1; inoculation amount: 10%; initial pH: 3), while the concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (N, P and K) of sunflower stalk were unaffected. While physicochemical pretreatment effectively enhanced the bioleaching efficiency, it also resulted in significant loss of P and K elements, thereby reducing the value of biomass for recycling and utilization. Therefore, the direct A. niger leaching method without pretreatment is more advantageous for the safe treatment and recycling of Cd-contaminated sunflower stalks. A simple and convenient method for preparing Co 5.47 N wrapped with carbon and rGO is presented for capacitive lithium-ion storage. Transition metal nitrides are of great interest as potential anodes for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) owing to their high theoretical capacity. However, poor cycling stability and rate performance greatly hinder their practical applications. To better alleviate these problems, a unique 3D hierarchical nanocomposite constructed by dual carbon-coated Co 5.47 N nano-grains wrapped with carbon and reduced graphene oxide (Co 5.47 N@C@rGO) was synthesized through one-step simultaneous nitridation and carbonization of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks@GO precursor. The 3D hierarchical Co 5.47 N@C@rGO composite can combine the good conductivity and mechanical strength of rGO and a high theoretical capacity of Co 5.47 N. When explored as anode material for LIBs, Co 5.47 N@C@rGO exhibits a high reversible capacity of ~860 mAh g−1 at a current density of 1.0 A g−1 after 500 cycles and excellent high-rate capability (665 and 573 mAh g−1 at current densities of 3.2 and 6.4 A g−1, respectively). The excellent electrochemical performance of Co 5.47 N@C@rGO can be ascribed to its hierarchically porous structure and the synergistic effect between Co 5.47 N nano-grains and rGO. Construction of well-defined hybrid composites consisting of transition metal sulfides and two-dimensional (2D) carbon nanosheets as high-performance anodes for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is of great significance but remains challenging. Herein, we have developed a novel strategy to in-situ fabricate a nanohybrid composites consisting of cobalt-doped copper sulfides nanoparticles embedded in 2D carbon nanosheets (2D Co-Cu 2 S@C) through a one-pot sulfurization of 2D nanosheet-like Co-doped copper-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) precursors. When applied as LIBs anodes, the as-prepared 2D Co-Cu 2 S@C composites could deliver a specific capacity of 780 mAh g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 after 300 cycles and a high-rate capability with 209 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1, superior to most reported copper sulfide-based anodes. The exceptional performance could be attributed to the synergism of ultrathin structure (~4 nm), appropriate cobalt doping and strong carbon coupling, resulting in the shortened paths for Li+ transportation, enlarged exposing surface for Li+ adsorption, enhanced electric conductivity for charge transfer as well as robust mechanical property against volume expansion. This work highlights a novel hybrid catalyst, intermetallic PdZn on CN@ZnO (PdZn/CN@ZnO), which serves as a highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for semihydrogenation of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol utilizing water as the solvent. Compared with intermetallic PdZn on ZnO (PdZn/ZnO), PdZn/CN@ZnO displays almost sixfold higher TOF while retaining high selectivity. It is assumed that the introduction of biomass-derived hydrophilic nitrogen-doped carbon into the ZnO helped to promote catalyst dispersion in aqueous media, ensuring better mass transfer. Further experiments and theoretical calculations showed that from Pd particles to intermetallic PdZn, the decrease of corner and edge Pd atoms might be a factor leading to the improvement of selectivity. Recycling experiments demonstrated that the PdZn/CN@ZnO catalyst could be reused at least eight times without significant decrease in activity or selectivity. Furthermore, when applied to industrially relevant alkenols that are building molecules for the production of vitamin E, the present catalyst still offered excellent performance. China's fast pace industrialization and growing population has led to several accidental surface water pollution events in the last decades. The government of China, after the 2005 Songhua River incident, has pushed for the development of early warning systems (EWS) for drinking water source protection. However, there are still many weaknesses in EWS in China such as the lack of pollution monitoring and advanced water quality prediction models. The application of Data Driven Models (DDM) such as Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) has acquired recent attention as an alternative to physical models. For a case study in a south industrial city in China, a DDM based on genetic algorithm (GA) and ANN was tested to increase the response time of the city's EWS. The GA-ANN model was used to predict NH3–N, CODmn and TOC variables at station B 2 h ahead of time while showing the most sensitive input variables available at station A, 12 km upstream. For NH3–N, the most sensitive input variables were TOC, CODmn, TP, NH3–N and Turbidity with model performance giving a mean square error (MSE) of 0.0033, mean percent error (MPE) of 6% and regression (R) of 92%. For COD, the most sensitive input variables were Turbidity and CODmn with model performance giving a MSE of 0.201, MPE of 5% and R of 0.87. For TOC, the most sensitive input variables were Turbidity and CODmn with model performance giving a MSE of 0.101, MPE of 2% and R of 0.94. In addition, the GA-ANN model performed better for 8 h ahead of time. For future studies, the use of a GA-ANN modelling technique can be very useful for water quality prediction in Chinese monitoring stations which already measure and have immediately available water quality data. The XELOX chemotherapy protocol that includes capecitabine and oxaliplatin is the routine treatment for colorectal cancer (CRC), but it can cause chemotherapy-related adverse events such as thrombocytopenia (TCP). To identify predictive biomarkers and clarify the mechanism of TCP susceptibility, we conducted integrative analysis using normal colorectal tissue (CRT), plasma, and urine samples collected before CRC patients received adjuvant XELOX chemotherapy. RNA-sequencing and DNA methylation arrays were performed on CRT samples, while liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry was performed on CRT, plasma, and urine samples. Differentially expressed features (DEFs) from each uni-omics analysis were then subjected to integrative analysis using Multi-Omics Factor Analysis (MOFA). Choline-deficiency in plasma and CRT was found as the most critical TCP-related feature. Based on bioinformatic analysis and literature research, we further concluded that choline-deficiency was the possible reason for most of the other TCP-related multi-omics DEFs, including metabolites representing reduced sphingolipid de novo synthesis and elevated solute carrier-mediated transmembrane transportation in CRT and plasma, DNA hypermethylation and elevated expression of genes involved in neuronal system genes. In terms of thrombocytopoiesis, these TCP-related DEFs may cause atypical maintenance and differentiation of megakaryocyte, resulting a suppressed ability of thrombocytopoiesis, making patients more susceptible to chemotherapy-induced TCP. At last, prediction models were developed and validated with reasonably good discrimination. The area under curves (AUCs) of training sets were all > 0.9, while validation sets had AUCs between 0.778 and 0.926. Using mooring-observed horizontal velocities and temperature from July 28 to August 2, 2005, this study analyzes the temporal-vertical variation of the diagnostic vertical velocity and mass transport during passage of tropical storm Washi (2005) over the northwestern continental shelf of the South China Sea (SCS). The results show that the total vertical velocity is of the order of O (1 × 10−4) m s−1 in the mixed layer above 25 m, and of O (1 × 10−5) m s−1 in the lower layer. Dynamically, the geostrophic advection and unsteady behavior of density induced by near-inertial oscillation are dominant factors in the upper and lower layers, respectively. As tropical storm Washi (2005) passed by from July 29 to 31, 2005, the upward vertical velocity was dominant and significantly enhanced to the order of O (1 × 10−3) m s−1. The diagnosed vertical velocity in the upper layer is one order greater than the averaged Ekman pumping velocity, which occurred one day earlier. The vertical advection transport calculated from the diagnosed vertical velocity reaches O (1 × 10−5) kg s−1m−3, one order greater than that induced by turbulent mixing. Time-averaged transports by vertical advection and mixing are both upward in the layer above the thermocline during the storm passage. • Storm-induced vertical velocity and transport are diagnosed from mooring observations. • Geostrophic and unsteady components dominate variation of the vertical velocity. • Upward velocity was enhanced to O (1 × 10−3) m s−1 as storm Washi (2005) passed. • Diagnosed vertical velocity is one order larger and one day later than Ekman pumping. • Vertical advection transport of O (1 × 10−5) kg s−1 m−3 is greater than mixing diffusion flux.
