Agriculture in the Czech Republic is one of major sectors of the economy, as it provides a substantial share of the basic food requirements of the population. An important part of agricultural companies' production consists of livestock, especially because of the effective use of crop production as a source of all kinds of animal feed. It is also proven that livestock production plays a significant role in the creation and cultivation of the landscape. Czech agriculture has shown a profit since joining the EU thanks to a significant increase in subsidies. The aim of this paper is to show the impacts of the globalization of the economy and climate change on the economic performance of agricultural companies in the Czech Republic. Livestock is an important component of agricultural system in Tripura. However, like food grains Tripura is also deficient in milk, meat, eggs etc. and a wide gap exists between demand and supply of these items. An attempt is made in this paper to compare infrastructure and production of livestock sector in Tripura with other states of North Eastern Region (NEH) region. The study revealed that Tripura's share in total livestock population of the NER and all India has increased to 7.43 per cent and 0.35 per cent, respectively in 2007 from 6.93 per cent and 0.30 per cent, respectively in 2003. Total livestock population registered a much higher change (28.19%) as compared to NER (19.52%) and all India (9.21%). The share of Tripura in both indigenous and crossbred cattle in NER and all India has increased in 2007 compared to 2003. In the case of poultry, Tripura's share to NER remained unchanged at 8.38 per cent between these periods and its share in all India declined to 0.57 per cent in 2007 from 0.62 per cent in 2003. Though livestock and poultry population have increased, the productivity of animals in terms of milk, meat and egg is much lower than NER and all India level. Moreover, lack of technological intervention, lack of inadequate processing facilities and unorganized marketing have been major sources of concern leaving a huge potential for improvement in this sector. A proper policy initiative encompassing improved technological intervention, breed improvement, quality feeds and fodder availability, proper credit facilities, proper processing and organised marketing is needed to realise the full potential of livestock sector in the state. The present study for performance evaluation newly developed varieties of CIM -Kranti and other varieties of menthol mint cultivation has been carried out at farmers' field of central Uttar Pradesh. Mints are commonly used as the source of fragrance, flavor and pharmaceuticals industry. During the study period 2017-18, 100 farmers cultivating CIM-Kranti and other varieties have been selected from the region of central Uttar Pradesh. The primary data were collected from the selected farmer's field on profitability comparison between CIM-Kranti and other varieties under cultivation. The highest area and production has been observed during 2012 and 2013. Simple statistical tools and techniques have been used for data analysis of the cost of cultivation and profitability. It has been observed during the study that CIM-Kranti gives higher returns (₹.98491/- ha/year) over other varieties (₹.70977/-ha/year). However, the input cost of CIM-Kranti is higher than other varieties of the crop but the net return of CIM-Kranti was more profitable than other varieties. The benefit cost ratio has been observed 1.45 and 1.74 of other varieties and CIM-Kranti respectively. The new variety "CIM-Kranti" of menthol mint is cold and frost tolerant and has the potential to produce 10-15% more oil i.e. 145-160 kg/ha in summer season as compared to all other popular commercial cultivars of menthol mint. Improved and Local sickles were evaluated ergonomically for harvesting paddy crop with 7 farm women aged 22-45 years at Kachhi-Barkheda village, Bhopal (M.P.). Improved sickle was tested on farm women to improve work efficiency and to reduce the drudgery of farm women. The performance in respect of heart rate, oxygen consumption rate, energy expenditure, overall discomfort and output were evaluated and data of improved and local sickle were compared. The results revealed that mean HRwork and oxygen consumption rate recorded 112 beats/min and 0.5 kilojule/min respectively with improved sickle, whereas it was 109 beats/min and 0.6 kilojule/min with local sickle during paddy harvesting. The corresponding work pulse (ΔHR) was 34 beats/min. It was observed that there was 5.3% increase in output with improved sickle. Improved sickle reduces 20.5% drudgery in ODR as compared to the traditional practice of local sickle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
