A large gas Cerenkov counter used to discriminate between pions and muons of 2 Bev/c is described. The counter can resolve beta differences of the order of 0.0010. The rejection ratio of the system is approximately 0.004. The construction of the counter is similar to that of other gas counters and differs from them principally in its size and the Fresnel lens-focusing arrangement. (M.C.G.)
