Abstract

The author reflects on prescription of pyschostimulants in prison settings and its relevance for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) patients. Topics discussed include relationship between ADHD and lower educational attainment, unstable employment, institutional misconduct and substance abuse, concerns about use of psycho stimulants in such settings due to its potential misuse, difficulties encountered in diagnosis of ADHD in a imprisoned patient such as presence of comorbidity.
