The article examines the patterns of cancer risk behaviors and to identify predictors of multiple risk behaviors in a racially/ethnically diverse sample of individuals seeking smoking cessation treatment in the United States. Overweight/obesity, at-risk alcohol consumption, and insufficient physical activity were measured in 424 smokers. The article shows that 90 percent of the participants reported behavioral cancer risk factors in addition to smoking.

The article presents a study which examines the prevalence, patterns and predictors of cooccuring modifiable cancer risk factors among African-Americans that seek smoking cessation treatment. It presents an evaluation of the hypothesized models of the relationship between socioeconomic status and health behavior. It also notes the findings and suggestions articulated in the study.
