Abstract

The article focuses on the role of nucleoside diphosphate kinases 1 and 2 (NME1/2) in regulating fatty acid accumulation in response to a high-fat diet. Topics discussed include the unique binding mode of NME1 with acetyl–coenzyme A (AcCoA), the impact of Nme2 knockout on triglyceride synthesis and liver steatosis in high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mice, and the epigenetic regulation of a protective liver response through targeted histone acetylation by NME2.
