The article presents ecohydrological journey of 4500 years reveals a stable but threatened precipitation. Topics discussed include ecohydrological studies examining the role of vegetation on groundwater recharge either focus on quantifying the amount of plant water uptake directly from groundwater; and analyze the role of vegetation and soil moisture dynamics on groundwater recharge with a mechanistic ecohydrological model.
