An editorial is presented on climate geoengineering approaches to limit the global temperature rise. Topics discussed include two types of geoengineering to reduce greenhouse gas emissions including carbon dioxide removal from the atmosphere, and solar radiation management to cool the Earth; need for a strategic approach to climate geoengineering policies to prevent other serious risks of geoengineering; and frameworks on the use of geoengineering created by Convention on Biological Diversity.
