Synthesis and structural characterization of a new hexanuclear copper(II) complex, CuII6(bdmap)3Cl6(O)(OH) (bdmap = 1, 3-bis-(dimethylamino)-2-propanolato), confirmed its propeller structure and C3 symmetry. Its core structure, which contains six copper(II) ions and five oxygen atoms, is similar to that of cryptand. Inorganic 'cryptand' contains a proton trapped inside.

A lanthanide(III)-copper(II) or a yttrium(III)-copper(II) metal complex binding 2-methyl-2,4, 6-tris(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-dioxane-4,6-diolato ligand is produced and the crystal structure is examined.
