We report for the first time using zinc hydroxyfluoride (ZnOHF) for efficient NO2 gas detection. The prepared ZnOHF had a unique flower-like architecture self-assembled by nanorods with a diameter of 150 nm and length of 2-3 μm. The sensing performance toward NO2 detection indicated that the prepared ZnOHF exhibited high response (82.71), short response/recovery time (13 s/35 s) to 10 ppm of NO2, and excellent selectivity at 200 °C, greatly outperforming the ZnO raw material. ZnOHF could work in a wide detection window ranging from 100 ppb to 50 ppm, implying its practical application prospects in both industry and daily life. The excellent sensing behavior of ZnOHF originated mainly from the negligible oxygen ions adsorbed on the material surface, which was caused by the higher work function of ZnOHF. Therefore, almost all conduction band electrons can be used in the NO2 gas sensing.

A facile, copper-catalyzed aminoarylation reaction of various aryl/alkyl alkynes was realized by utilizing N-fluoroarylsulfonimides (NFSI) as aminoarylation or amination reagent with hydroxyl as directing group. Two microporous cadmium(II) metal–organic frameworks, [Cd(cptpy)(Ac)(H2O)·(DMA)(H2O)]n (1) and [Cd(cptpy)2·(DMF)2]n (2) (Hcptpy = 4-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,2′:4′,4″-terpyridine, DMA = N,N-dimethylacetamide, DMF = dimethylformamide) have been solvothermally synthesized under different reaction conditions. Complex 1 is a double-interpenetrating 3D network, while 2 is a noninterpenetrating (3,5)-connected 2D framework. The dehydrated forms of compounds 1 and 2 exhibit selective adsorption of CO2 over N2 and H2O over CH3OH. In addition, the adsorption value of CO2 for 2 is higher than that of 1. The contents of uncoordinated pyridine nitrogen (Lewis basic sites) per formula unit of 1 and 2 are 2.16 and 4.36%, respectively. Five new metal–organic frameworks [M(btec)0.5(bimb)]n (1) (M = Co (1), Ni (2), Cu (3), Zn (4)) and [Cd(btec)0.5(bimb)0.5]n (5), were obtained by reactions of the conjugated 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid (H4btec) and 4,4′-bis(1-imidazolyl)biphenyl (bimb) with corresponding metal salts under hydrothermal conditions, respectively. MOFs 1-5 show different structures and topologies: compounds 1 and 4 are isomorphic, which possess typical PtS 3D nets; compound 2, 3 and 5 exhibit 2D layer structure, NbO 3D network and (4,6)-connected 3D binodal topology, respectively. Notably, compounds 1, 2, and 5 represent the rare example of MOFs-based visible-light-driven photocatalysts and show good stability toward photocatalysis. Furthermore, compound 5 is photocatalytically more active than 1 and 2 because of the relatively narrower band gap calculated from LMCT transitions. CuX(2)-mediated (X = Cl, Br) halolactonization of monoesters of 1,2-allenyl phosphonic acids is presented. The reaction proceeded smoothly under the mild condition for differently substituted allenic substrates giving the 4-halo-2,5-dihydro[1,2]oxaphosphole 2-oxides in good yields. The Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of these bromides and even chlorides with organic boronic acids under the catalysis of PdCl(2)(Sphos)(2) afforded 4-substituted-2,5-dihydro[1,2]oxaphosphole 2-oxides in moderate to good yields.
