A study of the effect of shock-wave impacts on composite materials containing ceramic particles is essential to determine its applications under various conditions of impact. The aluminum and ceramic particles influence the deformation in structure, which are indicated in the wave profiles. All the composites produced commercially have a pseudo dissipative nature, which depends on the rate-time structural temperature increase.

The performance of 1-3 piezoelectric composite materials immersed in an external field is evaluated. The individual strain behaviors of the piezoelectric and polymer components of the composites are analyzed to assess their coupling properties. An elastic model based on the force equilibrium condition is used in the analysis. The theoretical results show very good agreement with experimental observations.
