X-ray diffraction technique has been employed in the current research work to determine the structure and composition of Cr-doped BaTiO3, because it is a very useful tool to study non-destructively the crystallographic structure, chemical composition and physical properties of BaTiO3. The XRD characterization has been conducted at IUC, UGCDAE CSR. The synthesis of the nano-material has been done using the Sol-Gel Auto Combustion technique. BaTiO3 is a versatile compound, predominantly known for its storage capacity. Thus, serving in innumerable devices such as MLCCs, PTCR and microwave dielectric ceramics. Analysis of the obtained data from the characterization techniques has been done using Origin software. The powder XRD confirms the crystalline compound of Cr-Doped BaTiO3 by comparing 2θ and intensity values with JCPDS values of the same compound. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the present paper the study on the Copper-Cobalt ferrites with the general formulae CuxCo(1-x)Fe2O4 (where x=0.45,0.50,0.55,0.60) has been carried out. Solid root method was used to prepare the samples. X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique is used to analyze the samples. X-ray diffraction measurements were carried out.XRD investigation of all the compositions confirm the formation of single phase and tetragonal structure of ferrites.The particle size was calculated with the help of Debye Scherer's formulae using characteristics peaks. We present the results on atomic and lattice structure of the polycrystalline spinel ferrites system Co1-x TixFe2O4 (x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.50) synthesized by following the conventional solid-state reaction route. The observed X-ray diffraction (XRD) data confirms that all the prepared samples are indexed in cubic crystal structure (space group Fd3m). Diffraction pattern showed TiO2 phase due to presence of Ti+4 ions. Four Raman active phonon modes are observed for CoFe2O4 sample existing around 295, 462, 585, 689, cm-1 as Eg, T2g(2), T2g(3), and A1g, respectively. With 25 % Ti ion doping, the peak T2g(3) disappears, while to that T2g(1) emerges. This is an indication of presence of TiO2 phase in Co0.75Ti0.25Fe2O4 and Co0.5Ti0.5Fe2O4 ceramics. The codoped Bi1-xLaxFe1-yNiyO3 (x = 0.0, 0.1; y = 0.0, 0.05) samples are processed by solid-state reaction route in order to study structural, dielectric and ferroelectric properties. X-ray diffraction patterns of La/Ni doped samples have been performed using the rhombohedral (R3c) symmetry. Raman scattering measurement infers nine Raman active phonon modes. The substitution of Ni ion at Fe-site in BiFeO3 essentially changes the modes position i.e. all the modes are observed to shift at lower wave number. Frequency variation of the dielectric constant (ε') and dielectric loss (tanδ) has been investigated. It decreases with increasing frequency of the applied alternating field and become constant at high frequencies signifies substantial role of interfacial polarization. The remnant polarization and coercive field for BLFO, BFNO, BLFNO are 0.08, 0.03, 0.64 μC/cm2 and 0.24, 0.22, 0.25 kV/cm, respectively. A series of Ni-Zn ferrite with compositional formula Ni1-xZnxFe2O4 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) were prepared by solid-state reaction route. The influence of the Zn content on the structural and dielectric properties of NiFe2O4 was investigated using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and dielectric measurements. XRD analysis reveals that the samples are polycrystalline single-phase cubic spinel in structure excluding the presence of any secondary phase corresponding to any structure. Slight variation in the lattice parameter of Zn doped NiFe2O4 has been observed due to difference in ionic radii of cations. Raman analysis reveals the doublet like nature of A1g mode for all synthesized samples. Small shift in Raman modes and increment in the line width has been observed with the doping ions. Furthermore, room temperature dielectric properties of all the prepared samples have been reported. Polycrystalline YBa2(Cu1-XZnX)3O7-δ samples (x=0.0 to 0.06) were studied using XRD, titration, resistivity, magnetization and XPS measurements. The O2 stoichiometry (δ) is found to change on Zn substitution which affects the normal state resistivity of the system as well as the superconducting transition temperature (TC). Interestingly, the non-magnetic Zn ions also induce local magnetic moment as confirmed from the M-H curves. It is concluded that Zn doping induced change in O2 stoichiometry and the magnetic pair breaking cause a rapid suppression in superconductivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Series of nanocrystalline Cu1-xZnxFe2O4 (x=0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8) spinel ferrites were synthesized using advanced sol-gel technique. The XRD measurements confirm the formation of cubic spinel structure in single phase for the entire sample. The average particle sizes of 14-18 nm with lattice parameter ranges from 8.38Å to 8.52Å were estimated. Cation distribution over the two sites of nanocrystalline Cu1-xZnxFe2O4 series, estimated from X-ray diffraction measurements is reported. The lattice parameter 'a' is found to be increased with increase in Zn concentration, which is attributed to the larger ionic radius of Zn compared to that of Cu. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have investigated correlation between magnetization and electronic structure in Zn0.98Mn0.02O nano-rods. Rietveld analysis of XRD patterns confirms that Mn ions incorporate at the Zn2+ sites. SQUID measurements confirm that Mn doping induces room temperature ferromagnetism (RTFM) in nano-rods and the induced magnetization is an order of magnitude higher than that in the bulk Zn0.98Mn0.02O. The XPS results show that Mn ions are in mixed valent state. Our findings show that bivalence of Mn ions and the oxygen vacancies are responsible for the observed RTFM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
