The vibration isolator is a key part of many ultra-precision machines and measuring apparatus. Magnetic suspension vibration isolators (MSVIs) will have excellent application prospects in these instruments to restrain external oscillations. So this paper firstly proposes a new basic configuration of MSVI. Then, in order to study the mechanical characteristics of the MSVI, an analytical expression of the magnetic force is established. The effectiveness of which is demonstrated by the experiment and finite element analysis (FEA). The stiffness of the MSVI is obtained by the derivative of the established analytical magnetic force. Both the axial magnetic force and stiffness appear strong nonlinearity when the inner ring moves at both ends of the fixed outer ring. While the inner ring travels in the middle of the fixed outer one, the axial magnetic force and stiffness indicate approximate linearity with enough bearing capacity. Furthermore, parametric analysis, based on the created magnetic force and stiffness, is performed. The analytical results show that the axial magnetic stiffness may achieve a zero or even negative stiffness value in this range at some size dimensions. The MSVI appears to have a negative stiffness characteristic. More importantly, if a linear and nonlinear positive stiffness spring is combined with the MSVI, it can increase the load capacity of the MSVI. As an example study, the vibration isolation performance of the MSVI is analyzed. Femtosecond-laser modified silicon materials have excellent optoelectronic properties and device application prospects, thus capturing pervasive interest from academia and industry. Nevertheless, efficiently achieving large-area uniform modification on silicon surfaces with Gaussian laser beams, especially fabricating evenly and extensively distributed microcone structures, remains a formidable obstacle. Our theoretical and experimental investigations demonstrate that the pulse-shaping technique effectively regulates the light–matter interaction, leading to improved surface uniformity through nonlinear and linear modulation. A large-area uniformly distributed microcones are prepared on the silicon surface through pure temporal modulation of the pulse. In addition, the method is easy to implement and has good compatibility. These findings carry significant implications for advancing the femtosecond-laser processing technology and promoting the industrial utilization of modified silicon materials, including photoelectric detection and solar cell fields. We investigate the chiral spectral singularities, i.e., laser threshold modes, in PT-symmetric dielectric metasurfaces originating from quasi-bound states in the continuum. The poles, referred to as the quasi-bound states in the continuum, of scattering matrix can move to the upper complex frequency plane from the lower half-plane by increasing the balanced gain and loss. The maximal intrinsic optical chirality of laser threshold mode has been theoretically demonstrated via the large transmission circular dichroism spectra. Our work paves the way for studying the enhanced optical chirality in non-Hermitian nanophotonics empowered by quasi-bound states in the continuum, together with various intriguing applications, such as chiral coherent perfect absorber and laser.
