This paper describes the development of porous carbons synthesized from direct carbonization followed by chemical activation at suitable parameters for environmental sustainablity. Adsorbents were developed using synthesized zeolite and low-cost precursors. Carbonization and chemical activation at 600 °C were carried out that resulted in the generation of porous adsorbents. Surface characterization result reveals the effect of optimized chemical activation parameters, confirmed from direct carbonized and activated chemical samples. CO
2 uptake of the developed adsorbents obtained from direct carbonization shows low CO2 uptake, and the carbon material developed from Chemical activation shows high CO2 uptake. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published
