This paper presents a construction of confidence intervals for the common ratio means of lognormal distribution based on generalized confidence intervals, and then compares the results with a large sample approach. A Monte Carlo simulation was used to evaluate the coverage probability and average length of confidence intervals. Our aim of this study was to construct confidence intervals for the common inverse mean of normal distribution based on generalized confidence interval approach and compare with the confidence intervals based on large sample approach. The coverage probability and average length of the confidence intervals are evaluated by a Monte Carlo simulation. The results showed that the generalized confidence interval approach provides much better confidence interval estimates than the large sample approach. This paper presents new confidence intervals for normal mean with unknown coefficient of variation. The authors constructed confidence intervals based on generalized confidence intervals between the estimation of mean " t " and that of "t*". The coverage probability and expected length of the confidence intervals were then evaluated by the Monte Carlo simulation. The results showed that the generalized confidence interval of t* was better than the generalized confidence interval of t. In conclusion, the proposed approach achieved research goals successfully.
