In this paper, a compact Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna with a triple-band notch for wearable applications is designed and simulated for UWB applications with the operating frequency from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. The antenna can be used for UWB applications, while at the same time, is able to reject the narrowbands namely, Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) (3.2 GHz to 3.6 GHz), C-band (3.7 GHz to 4.2 GHz) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) (5.15 GHz to 5.35 GHz). Two slots are introduced on the radiating patch of the antenna to notch the three narrowbands, instead of three slots to notch each narrowband. The antenna is designed on a highly flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate. The final outcomes indicate that the antenna can operate over the UWB frequency from 2.33 GHz to 11.30 GHz. The antenna is able to notch the WiMAX and C-band narrowbands with a frequency range from 3.08 GHz to 4.24 GHz and the WLAN band with a frequency range from 5.12 GHz to 5.40 GHz. The performance of the antenna in bending condition is also examined with the antenna bent over a varying diameter of vacuum cylinder starting from 50 mm, 80 mm and 100 mm. It is shown from the reflection coefficient of each diameter that the performance of the antenna is not affected by bending and thus, is particularly useful to be worn on body for wearable applications, other than its compact size of 19×14 mm2. Fingerprint recognition is the most consistent biometric modality in use. Iris is an externally visible yet protected organ whose unique pattern remains stable throughout life. With continuous improvement in biometrics recognition performance, biometrics security becomes an important topic of research as biometric template security scheme serves as a vital part of a complete biometrics system. Besides, a multimodal biometrics system is introduced to improve the recognition performance, system complexity, security, and applicability of nowadays biometrics applications. Biometric systems are automatic tools used to provide authentication during various applications of modern computing. This work proposes three different design frameworks for multimodal biometric systems based on fingerprint and hand geometry modalities. An analysis is also presented to diagnose various template security issues in the proposed system. Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) is applied with five decision parameters on all the designs, and framework one is found to be better in template data security, templates fusion, and computational efficiency. It is noticed that template data security before storage in the database is challenging. An important observation is that a template may be secured at the feature fusion level, and an indexing technique may be used to improve the size of secured templates. Multi biometrics overcomes these problems. Recently, multi-modal biometric fusion techniques have attracted increasing attention and interest among researchers, in the hope that the supplementary information between different biometrics might improve the recognition performance in some difficult biometric problems. In this paper, we present a multi-biometric recognition system using two types of biometrics Iris, and Finger Print. The fusion is applied at the feature-score level. Delay Study is to evaluate the quality of traffic movement along a route and to determine the level of service at a study area. This study can be used to compare and evaluate operational conditions before and after roadway or when intersection improvements have been made. The objective of this study is to compare before and after the improvement of intersection into roundabout in term of delay time and level of service. This study only focused at the intersection which had massive congestion along Pengkalan Weld road. There are two intersections which experience a massive traffic jam during morning peak hour. The worst traffic jam occurs at the intersection connected to Gat Jalan Magazine (Case study area 1) especially for the vehicle coming from south of Pengkalan Weld to north bound. This traffic jam occurs because of the long cycle of traffic signal. The second worst traffic jam occours at the intersection connected to Gat Lebuh Chulia (Case study area 2). It is a 4 leg-intersections without a traffic signal. The traffic jam occur at the particular section because there is no traffic light which could guide the road users to cross that conflict area. The minor road which is from Gat Lebuh Chulia has disrupted the major road which is the Pengkalan Weld road. Thus, the motivation of current research is to evaluate these intersections into the space sharing intersection or also known as roundabout. To achieve this purpose, the simulation VISSIM model had been created.VISSIM software was also used to analyse the field data by using the average speed method. The field data was collected during AM peak hour since it has the highest traffic volume per hour compare to PM peak and off peak. From the result both method (vissim and field data) produced slightly the same result in delay time. This means that VISSIM simulation is acceptable to be used. Second model was develop in order to design roundabout by using the VISSIM simulation. As conclusion, by using Vissim simulation it was found that the improvement from intersection to roundabout had minimized delay time and improvement of LOS by 97.8% for Case study area 1 and 75.6% for Case study area 2. Shortage of construction waste data cause difficulty in planning the future of construction waste management. Quantification of construction waste data is one of the valuable solution to be implemented. Waste generated amount have been investigated in different countries. A series of research on various construction materials were reported by the previous researcher. However, no similar research has been conducted in Malaysia where there is a pressing need to understand the generation of construction waste especially for the developing projects like housing. This paper aims to review the previous study on the waste quantification in the construction sites. A wearable antenna working in 2.4 GHz for Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) radio bands is presented in this work. The proposed antenna is a rectangular textile antenna with a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feeding on a cotton jeans as the substrate material. The antenna has a compact size with dimensions of 30 × 30 mm2 which makes it an attractive solution in a wearable antenna construction. The linear characteristics of the antenna are investigated to evaluate the performance of the antenna. The simulation and measurements results are compared and they agree well with each other.
