Shell model calculations have been carried out to study the structure and decay properties of nuclei in the f p shell. The shell-model effective Hamiltonian is constructed from the high-precision CD-Bonn NN potential using the folded-diagram renormalization method without any empirical modification. The Hamiltonian gives a reasonable description of spectroscopic properties in nuclei around the N = Z line. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The halo properties of the odd light nuclei have been studied with the deformed Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model, in which the blocking effect of the odd nucleon is taken into account. For nuclei near drip lines, the pairing was treated in the frame of Lipkin-Nogami method, using a volume-surface mixing paring interaction. The solution of coordinate-space Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approach can provide accurate descriptions of weakly-bound nuclei, in which the continuum effect plays an important role. However, this is not an easy task of solving HFB equations for non-spherical nuclei in the continuum. We discuss the exotic shapes obtained by coordinate-space HFB calculations within a large box size on China's Tianhe-1A supercomputer. In this contribution the low-excitation structural properties of the doubly mid-shell nucleus 170Dy are discussed, with a special empasis on the evolution of the ground state rotational band within the dysprosium isotopic chain. Recent results from an experiment with the EURICA setup at RIKEN are shown in the context of previous measurements at the PRISMA+CLARA as well as the PRISMA+AGATA setups at Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro. High-spin states of 194,195Au, 195Pt and 193Ir have been studied using an in-beam γ-ray spectroscopic technique following the reaction of 7Li on an 192Os target at 44 MeV. Several bands in these nuclei have been identified and extended up to high-spin states. The α and t emission channels leading to 193Ir and 195Pt, respectively, are strongly enhanced which may be explained by incomplete fusion reaction; the t and α fragments from the break-up of weakly bound 7Li nucleus fusion with 192Os target. The history of experimental study on β -delayed proton decays in the rare-earth region was simply reviewed. The physical results of the β -delayed proton decays obtained at IMP, Lanzhou over the last 10 years were summarized, mainly including the first observation of 9 new β -delayed proton precursors along the odd-Z proton drip line and the new data for 2 waiting-point nuclei in the rp-process. The results were compared and discussed with different nuclear model calculations.
