Abstract

The capacity of paenimyxin is examined to stimulate defense responses in Medicago truncatula, reduce disease symptoms from Fusarium acuminatum and upregulate transcripts from genes involved in defense mechanisms. Gene responses are quantified in Medicago truncatula and genes involved in the biosynthesis of phytoalexins, antifungal activity or cell wall are highly upregulated in roots or cells after paenimyxin treatment.
