Abstract

The article explores congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM) in a 2-year-old boy's right lower lobe, detected during routine pregnancy follow-up. Using hierarchical phase-contrast tomography (HiP-CT), researchers observed cystic changes and abnormal airway development in the lung. The study revealed details of CPAM pathogenesis, including misconnected airways, intact arterial supply, and increased collateral ventilation, providing insights into lung diseases that are difficult to study otherwise.
