The $SU(2)_L$ triplet scalar with hypercharge $Y=0$ predicts a positive definite shift in the $W$ mass, w.r.t.~the Standard Model prediction, if it acquires a vacuum expectation value. As this new field cannot couple directly to SM fermions (on its own), it has no significant impact on other low-energy precision observables and is weakly constrained by collider searches. In fact, the multi-lepton anomalies at the LHC even point towards new scalars that decay dominantly to $W$ bosons, as the neutral component of the triplet naturally does. In this article, we show that with a minimal extension of the scalar triplet model by a heavy vector-like lepton, being either I) an $SU(2)_L$ doublet with $Y=-1/2$ or II) an $SU(2)_L$ triplet with $Y=-1$, couplings of the triplet to Standard Model leptons are possible. This minimal extension can then provide, in addition to the desired positive shift in the $W$ mass, a chirally enhanced contribution to $(g-2)_μ$. In addition version I) and II) can improve on $Z\toμ^+μ^-$ and alleviate the tension in first-row CKM unitarity (known as the Cabibbo angle anomaly), respectively. Finally, both options, in general, predict sizable changes of $h\toμ^+μ^-$, i.e., much larger than most other $(g-2)_μ$ explanations where only $O(\%)$ effects are expected, making this channel a smoking gun signature of our model., 5 pages + references

The neutrino-mass suppressed Yukawa couplings of Dirac neutrinos to the Higgs boson leave the right-handed neutrino partners out of equilibrium in the early universe. Creating an asymmetry in this decoupled sector leads to a matter--antimatter asymmetry due to lepton number conservation. In this letter, we emphasize several overlooked aspects of this Dirac leptogenesis mechanism by thoroughly exploring simple realizations and their viable parameter space. The underlying Boltzmann equations have an interesting structure that allows for highly efficient baryogenesis in a variety of ways. In many of them, the number of relativistic degrees of freedom, $N_\text{eff}$, is severely enhanced compared to standard cosmology and offers a handle to constrain Dirac leptogenesis with upcoming measurements of the cosmic microwave background. Experimental hints for lepton-flavor universality violation in the muon's magnetic moment as well as neutral- and charged-current $B$-meson decays require Standard-Model extensions by particles such as leptoquarks that generically lead to unacceptably fast rates of charged lepton flavor violation and proton decay. We propose a model based on a gauged $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ that eliminates all these unwanted decays by symmetry rather than finetuning and efficiently explains $(g-2)_μ$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$, $R_{D^{(*)}}$, and neutrino masses. The $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ furthermore acts as a stabilizing symmetry for dark matter and the light $Z'$ gauge boson mediates velocity-dependent dark-matter self-interactions that resolve the small-scale structure problems. We develop a minimal left-right symmetric model based on the gauge group $SU(3)_C \otimes SU(2)_L \otimes SU(2)_R \otimes U(1)_{B-L}$ wherein the Higgs triplets conventionally employed for symmetry breaking are replaced by Higgs doublets. Majorana masses for the right-handed neutrinos $(\nu_R$) are induced via two-loop diagrams involving a charged scalar field $\eta^+$. This setup is shown to provide excellent fits to neutrino oscillation data via the seesaw mechanism for the entire range of the $W_R^\pm$ mass, from TeV to the GUT scale. When the $W_R^\pm$ mass is at the TeV scale, the $\nu_R$ masses turn out to be in the MeV range. We analyze constraints from low energy experiments, early universe cosmology and from supernova 1987a on such a scenario and show its consistency. We also study collider implications of a relatively light $\eta^+$ scalar through its decay into multi-lepton final states and derive a lower limit of 390 GeV on its mass from the LHC, which can be improved to 555 GeV in its high luminosity run., Comment: 44 pages and references, 10 figures

In this work, we present a solution to the persistent tensions in the decay observables $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$ by introducing a $SU(2)_L$ doublet and a $SU(2)_L$ triplet scalar leptoquarks (LQs) that reside at the TeV energy scale. Neutrinos that remain massless in the Standard Model receive naturally small masses at one-loop level via the propagation of the same LQs inside the loop. Such a common origin of apparently disjoint phenomenological observations is appealing, and we perform a comprehensive analysis of this set-up. We identify the minimal Yukawa textures required to accommodate these flavor anomalies and to successfully incorporate neutrino oscillation data while being consistent with all experimental constraints. This scenario has the potential to be tested at the experiments by the future improved measurements in the lepton flavor violating processes.
