The author discusses on the management of survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The author says that out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival becomes a common occurrence and it has two factors to determine survival, such as early defibrillation and prompt administration of effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). He states that there are individuals who survive to discharge and die later because of sequelae of cerebral hypoxia and some have neurological injury.
